This Museum belongs to the category of History museum.
Very original, and a very good museum. In my opinion, it is a sufficient reason to come to Park City. Its exhibition on mines are wonderful, and teaches you a lot on mining, as well as its importance for the Utah. So is the exhibition on how Park City transformed from a mining town to a skiing town. However my favorite part of the museum is certainly the jail. Having family members imprisoned for political reasons, and working on a research on prisons, it was an interesting feeling to sit inside of one. Also stories of the people who actually have been there is really interesting.
Fun educational place.
Staff was super friendly and knowledgeable in the gift shop after our visit.
This is a little treasure of a museum that gives you an in-depth history of Park City. I learned so much about the city, and enjoyed seeing the original jail in the basement! Definitely worth a couple hours if you're on Park City Main St.
Love the unique items throughout the store!
Great time with our granddaughter.
You have fun while learning the very interesting story of the city!
Great family fun for hours for families of all ages. Lots of history here. Love it.
Very interesting
Absolutely wonderful place for an afternoon. You will learn a lot over a short period. Great, bright displays and very friendly staff who are always ready to help.
Surprising well done Vivendi the exterior. Lots of mining info and very interesting. Highly recommended. Take the walking tour too.
Very quaint. Great history of the area. Interactive and able to keep our attention. Exhibits were amazing and detailed. A must go if you have the time.
Fabulous museum. Don't miss it.
My family and I really enjoyed our visit to the Park City Museum. The exhibits were interesting, informative and often interactive. Save your receipt and get a discount for ice-cream at the Java Cow just up the street.
Very fun and educational clean
I love this museum, it's interactive and fun. I've been going for years with my kids on school trips etc. Then one day my husband, kids and I were walking by and noticed it was a free locals day. I said hey we should go in. We go in and my husband was astounded at how fantastic the museum was. He's like Mikey and doesn't like anything, so that is quite the compliment. Thank you for doing such a great job, Shirin
Very nice Museum
Very nice museum. Pleasant and knowledgeable staff. Interesting stuff about mining and the town history.
Very rustic. Historical ambience with much to see. You must pay a fee to see certain parts of the museum. Staff was very helpful. Was very crowded the morning we were there.
One of the best museums I've visited. Very interesting and informative of Park City and it's history.
I was very disappointed at the price of going through this small museum.
Nice place shoeing the history of mining and the birth of my city park city
Mining history of Park City with interactive displays as well as the development of snow skiing in this area are well documented
A surprisingly enjoyable history museum.
I was so impressed with the history of this town and how well put together this was , it dynamically changed my experience with my visit.
This was the coolest museum! There were tons of interactive exhibits. Lots of hands on things and reenactments. I loved it! The lady also gave me and my husband a military discount, even though I'm only a vet. It was alot of fun! My favorite part was the underground jail cell, which was the actual Park City jail!
Excellent little museum! I was impressed with the richness of the stories they shared in such a small space. The diversity of displays was entertaining and educational. A great way to get a taste of Park City's history.
Such a cute place !!!
A very good surprise. Took a long relatives from the UK and they had a great time! Love the history and bought a Park City book.
Great lil museum!
I didn't go into the museum, but I understand that it takes an hour to tour. They do offer a Military, Seniors 65+ and Student discount. My family and I have a tradition. Whenever we go on vacation, we get a Christmas tree ornament to remember our trip by. I came into the museum/gift shop to find an ornament. I did find one and I'm very happy with it. It was fun to browse the gift shop and the staff was wonderful to interact with.
Love learning history. Wish the internal train was still running. What an interesting journey that would be through the old mine to 5he top of the hill.
Interesting exhibits on the history of the area. Gift shop with a good selection of items. Very nice staff.
Diane grave us a great walking tour of old town and the museum was done well.
Lots of history, would recommend.
Worth every penny!
10 and 7 year old enjoyed it. A little spendy, but so is the whole town. Recommended.
Great place. Very interesting .
Nice place kind of expensive but nice
Great place to visit. Very informative about Park City's history. From early days, mining , skiing, fires, it's all covered. Interactive displays are super cool: sit in a train replica, a ski sled, mining elevator...
Nice history of the area. Mostly about mining and the history of theatres in the city.
The museum is interesting and informative. Great background to this beautiful city.
Very detailed and interesting museum. Worth the money.
I love rocks! In the entry lobby you can play w/ magnets, sort through stones of all types and colors:) But, from my childhood, I've always loved seeing the original jail walls in the basement.
Quaint museum that shows the mining history of Park City and the large fire that took it down. A lot of interesting exhibits and dioramas and takes about an hour and a half to do the entire museum. Also a few more modern exhibits as the city transformed itself into a tourist attraction. Overall, worth the time.
Great place for kids and adults alike
Great place
It's a really nice museum, staff was friendly and it has a lot of interesting facts. Loved it.
Great little vacation visit while with family near Park City.
Very fun place I recommend to anyone who loves history.
Like most museums, it is a great place to learn about the history of the area. I personally like the mine replica.
Looks small but so large and full of information on Park City's past
Very friendly staff. Self serve museum. Wonderful gift shop!
Great museum for family outings
Very interesting history and presented very well.
Nice little museum. No wheelchair accessible facilities.
Nice depiction of the town's history
I really enjoyed this museum. It depicts the history of park city very well. The replica mine gives a good feel for the working conditions of the mine. It has in the basement jail cells that were still in use in the 1960s. Definetly worth the admission price.
Always informative. It's a great look back at the mining operations that were the genesis of Park City and the interactive map of the mines beneath the town is incredible.
Great time looking at displays.
Great museum showcasing the mining history and the roots of Park City. Enjoyable for all ages.
Good place for historical place
Awesome
Lots of history. $12 admission, or ask for the Senior Discount if it applies to you. They say it takes 45 minutes to view the museum. It took me 1 1/2 hours to view the museum, and the only reason I left is because the place was closing.
Was a neat little museum about the history of Park City. The kids really enjoyed it as well. Worth the hour or so to go through it but we like that sort of thing.
It's just a fun experience. I've lived in Utah my entire life and never knew how rich of a history that park city has. Pay for the tour! It's totally worth it
Super friendly service. Very nice small town historic museum. Lots of variety from miner days to ski history.
Small museum about Park City and the mining heritage.
Really fun and interactive for the kids while offering enough information to keep adults interested also. Would definitely take my kids again.
We had a lot of fun here. Loved the jail in the basement!
Very informational and interesting.
Quality of displays exceeded my expectations. Loved the visit.
Cool museum would recommend highly.
This was a fun history lesson.
Not the Met, but good for what it does
Fun visit and interesting facts. Worth the admission.
The Park city museum in downtown Park city hosts a wealth of information from the past of the little mining town that turned into a great tourist destination from mountain biking trails and hiking trails to world class skiing and other winter activities. Take time to explore Park city and all of its beautiful sites and scenery.
Loved the interactive parts.
Cool
Quite a sight, excellent if your interested in history of Park city, and how it developed from obscure mining town to a premium holiday resort. Very nice staff too! Although its on the small side, and a bit confusing to follow the timeline.
Great staff and really enjoyed the local history! A must for first-time visitors to get their bearings!
so much more than I expected
Great job on the exhibits.
Awesome historical museum. It is a bit pricey to get it but we were on vacation, so what the hell!! Cool gift shop as well.
Really nice museum to see the history of Park City. It is a little small for a $10 museum but they did a great job fitting the town's history in there.
Gr8 place
Nice smaller museum on main street in Park city. Explains history of the town and surrounding mining area including the start of the skiing and movie events. $13 admission is worth it and the whole museum should take about an hour to enjoy.
It kept the attention a a 6yr old for over an hour....the adults left wanting more.
You have to go to the museum while in Park City. Educate how and why Park City started. Sacrifices made.
Wonderful tour of the museum and cith
A must if you love the area! Great resource for this town's history
My husband and I have been coming to PC for over 15 years yet never visited the museum. We finally did and are so glad. It was a well spent $20's and fun fact filled afternoon.
Wonderful museum with very modern exhibits and so much more interesting than I was expecting. I will definitely go again so I can learn about things I might have missed the first time.
Very well organized and decorated history museum in the small town. The souvenir store is also nice.
Great place to learn about the history of Park City. They include the history of the mines as well as the transformation to a ski community. Good for everyone!
Great gift shop
great, informative and beautifully preserved
The museum was fascinating. I also enjoyed the gift shop.
The museum was well done and organized nicely. The tour guide was really nice
Excellent, well-thought-out museum with beautiful interactive displays and a helpful staff you can tell is proud of its city's rich history. Everyone visiting Park City ought to stop in.
A good selection of artifacts and history of the town
Tuesday was free day. A small three story museum on Main street in the historic section of Park City. It traces the history of the area from a mining town to a premium ski resort.
Fantastic city museum. Very kid friendly and interactive. Exhibits gave a great feel for the history of the town. Well worth the time.
Beautiful and quaint.
Great local museum that tells the story of the history of Park City - from a mining town to ski resort. Totally worth taking an hour to visit when in Park City.
Very nice museum! I would go again
Very interesting and informative
Great place to stop in after a day of skiing and learn a lot of history about parkcity
A delightful little museum that shows just how hard mining was and how Park City grew over the years. A fun little gift shop
Awesome place!
We talked to a very nice lady working there. She gave us lots of good information. Thanks
We were very impressed! We went with our child on a field trip. It was very interesting and we learned alot about the history of Park City.
Priced way too high for a family. Interesting stuff, might be worth it if you are there without kids.
Great price price (free) if you work for Deer Valley or a local ski resort.
We loved this museum. It is well done and the staff is very friendly.
Awesome interactive museum
Fun Place, a lot of park city history. Maybe you will end up in the jail.
This is a really well done museum, I learned a ton about the life in the mines and happenings on main street in the early 1900's. They also have the original jail in the basement and information about the big fire. Not very expensive for tickets, and they offer student, child, and senior discounts. You'll learn a ton!
I was surprised at the prices of the museum, so I chose not to go through. It really adds up for a family, especially when the kids may not be interested. The gift shop had a lot of stuff/toys geared toward kids, and a few souvenir type gifts.
Bery good reproductions of the time were the city was mostly mining only, very detailed history and different stuff from different historical moments of park city.
Very interesting ,alot of history about Park city,Utah
I enjoyed seeing all the antiques and reading about the Park City area. The basement jail is a must! It's gives a person chills to think about the poor souls who were locked up down there.
Very interesting. Not for children though. Very well thought out and a lot of items from the era of the Gold Rush. Incredible amount of history. Well worth the visit.
This is a little gem with lots of interesting history. Well worth a visit if you've never been before.
It's a nice place.
This is an amazing three- story, store-front museum located right on Main Street in downtown Park City. I was really impressed with the quality of exhibits and artifacts. It is built on top of the old Park City jail which is open for exploring. Inside this wonderful museum you will find an actual mine elevator, an original underground subway car for skiers and many other small to huge display items. Don't miss experiencing this great little gem while in Park City.
Loved the crystal selection
Super friendly and educated staff. Great place to bring a class or family. Get ready to learn about the history of Park City. Awesome souvenirs to buy after.
Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. We learned a lot about Park City and the surrounding areas history from well before it was a ski resort area. The only major downside was the lack of bathrooms in the museum (they are outside the museum building and down some stairs) and the cost for entry (2 adults was $24).
Really friendly aan knowledgeable staff!! Admission is only 10 dollars and we spent at least and hour maybe more in there . Exhibits and artifacts are in great condition! They also offer fun interactive activities for all ages!
We had a great time. The staff were friendly and knowledgable about Park City's history.
Excellent stop for visitors to learn about the old park city and its many uses and turns along the way like the city burning down during the mining days.
So much cooler than you think it will be!
Awesome museum and great explanation of the Park City area.
Nice place
For the price it is ok but, like everything else in Park City, it seemed like I overpaid. Part of the museum was closed and I was not informed prior to buying the tickets. When I asked for a partial refund (it was a pretty large section of the museum to miss) I was just told they dont do that.
Really enjoyed the history they presented. Did not have enough time to see the whole museum before we had to leave to get to the airport. Will return next year and finish it up!
Interesting place to visit
On of the best museums I've visited. And I know history. Concise explanations of PC's short history. The mine map and diorama are worth price alone.
A really fascinating hidden gem in Park City. Their prices are extremely reasonable ($10.00 per adult per day) and they allow photography as well. A lot of time, thought, and effort has gone into the quality of their exhibits, and I'm amazed at the level of efficiency in which they utilize their limited space! They offer a fun little gift shop as well. This location is also a museum suitable for children of most ages (in my opinion!).
Interesting to see the history
Great exhibits. Clear narratives.
Thanks got there late but staff nice and allowed grandkids to see part of displays ! Nice museum but need more than 30 minutes to experience
We have been coming to Park City for years and we finally decided to take the tour. It's an interactive history tour, even great for kids. We took our 2 1/2 year old, which we questioned, but she enjoyed it as well.
Great place to kill time while in Park City.
Good museum, great for kids.
Great place reminded me of how park city was looking ago. Started my career in the silver mines here.
Very well done museum. Great props and features everyone was super helpful.
This was the coolest museum I’ve ever been too. It’s got so many cool automations for kids. Hit a button and something moves. Blow up the dynamite down stairs. See a replica of the silver mines. The exhibits are so creative.
Interesting history of Park City from "gentile" mining to becoming a ski destination.
A fairly small museum, but really interesting if you are interested in the history of different places. It offers a description of the history of Park City, Utah starting with silver mining through its current incarceration as a resort.
Reminds, me of Whistler back home
The museum will take you through a historical journey of Park City from a mining town to a ski resort town. There are many interactive exhibits and you can explore the old prison cells in the museum as well.
Pricey. But worth a visit. Not sure what Route 66 has to do with it.
Small place but great history and explains about Park City.
Great! I wish there was a suggested path between sections to follow
Didnt actually go into the museum but the lighted side walk out side with all the fresh fallen snow made for an excellent photo opportunity.
