Charming with an exceptionally scenic drive in from downtown Moab right along the Colorado River with stunning high red canyon walls. The museum offers a comprehensive look at the major film productions and popular culture installments that feature Moab and the surrounding region as their backdrop which serves as a character in its own right. Beginning with Wagonmaster (1949) through several Ford/Wayne partnerings, a short documentary chronicles the region's use as a setting all the way up through The Lone Ranger (2013).

A visit to this place is extremely enjoyable and worthwhile. The drive along the Colorado River is very nice. Plan extra time for a meal or overnight stay at the Red Cliff Lodge

Best place if you like old westerns and cowboy-lore. You will recognize some of the vistas from John Wayne movies and others as you look around.

The museum its self is okay I wouldn't go out of my way to see it. However, the drive is worth it on it's own. For the drive I gave it an extra star.

Nice place but underwhelming... I love the old westerns they spoke of that were made in this territory but there's Just nothing but pictures on the walls with descriptions of behind the camera people as well as a few famous actors and movie posters from those movies. Not much else to see here. If you're looking for something exciting from the past unfortunately this isn't it.

The history of movie production in the Moab area is very interesting and nicely presented in this museum. It can be view in a short stop on your drive along the Colorado River. The museum is completely free of charge. Thanks for sharing this nice collection of local history.

If you like old western movies this is a great take. Since 1949 many westerns were filmed here in the local area.

The museum is free and that is always nice. They have a movie playing that includes al lot of movies made there and it talks about them. The have small exhibits on a lot of the movies. They also show which actors have been there. It is hard to notice from traffic and is very small but apart from that it is pretty good.
