Well maintained home (pre-indoor plumbing) of one of Kanab's founding fathers. It was enjoyable seeing how a well-to-do family lived during the pioneer era.

Emily Bentley was our tour guide today at Heritage House. She's a very enthusiastic guide who provided a lot of information about the home, the people who lived there and the era in which it was built. Don't miss this free tour if you're in Kanab.

Truly a must see in Kanab. One of the best maintained and in depth historical sites I've visited. There is incredible detail in preserving the lifestyle of the original residents; you feel like they could return home any moment. Emily was astoundingly knowledgeable, and capable of answering ALL of my questions regarding the pieces and lifestyle. Rarely do you get a chance to see a historic sight preserved and shared with so much love. Seriously, take the tour. It's the the best experience you'll have indoors while you're in the area. And it's FREE.

As a direct descendent of Thomas Chamberlain I thought I knew everything there was to learn about my family. I learned several new treasures! Highly recommend the guided tour.

A fun, historical experience in Kanab, Utah. Kanab Heritage House is a home built in the late 1800's that has ties to the Southern Utah area. The guided tour is fun & informational and the tour guides are friendly & willing to answer questions. They have done a lot of work and use verifiable information when telling about the area, the home and the families that have lived here. The tour is about an hour long and will include several sets of stairs/steps. Sadly, it is not wheelchair accessible. There are lots of great artifacts to see and learn about and the preservation team had done a great job starting true to the history and nature of the home. The ground are well let and beautiful. A perfect place to have an intimate wedding or get together. The area gets warm in the afternoon so morning visits or those before 1PM are best to avoid the heat. Overall, the Kanab Heritage House Museum is a great way to spend an hour of your trip learning about local history.

One of the best historical home tours we've ever been on. Emily, the tour guide was wonderful. The tour was free, the house was well preserved, and many original pieces were still there. You see the basement, main floor, attic, and the beautiful grounds. Our kids loved it too.

Superb example of Victorian architecture with original fixtures, well done to those with the foresight to preserve this lovely house. Emily, our guide, took us around the house and made it come to life as she explained the history of those who had lived there.

If you’re in or driving through Kanab, stop at the Heritage House! It will take you back in time, with original furniture pieces. The tour guide was amazing and told us the history of the families who lived in this beautiful home and how they influenced the community. She also showed us how to make cute hollyhock dolls. I am a great great (I don’t know how many greats) granddaughter of Thomas Chamberlain and we went to the Heritage House while on vacation and I learned a lot! I will definitely be going back!

My wife and I visited the heritage house and we had a great time. It was very well presented and Emily the tour guide was not only knowledgeable but she obviously also enjoyed what she was doing. Sometimes these types of things are hit or miss and this one is definitely a hit. The tour takes between 20 - 30 minutes and it's well worth stopping to do it. The tour is completely free so take the time to learn some neat history from the neat town of Kanab.

Great tour and ***FREE*** The free tour of Kanab Heritage House (also known as the Chamberlain-Bowman house) is the home of the original owners preserved in wonderful architectural condition and includes the original furniture, kitchen, canned vegetables, etc. Our tour guide Emily was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and well spoken. She spend about twenty minutes telling us the history of Kanab, building of the house in the 1890s, owners of the house, and subsequent family members that inhabited the home until it was purchased by the city of Kanab and turned into this museum in 1974. My partner and I don’t typically visit museums but this was worth our time. I highly recommend you do this tour; it’s free, informative, entertaining and visual (e.g, photographs, architecture, furniture, original kitchen, and canned vegetables(!) and bottles from decades ago), which all give you a sense of what the family that lived here was like. Check it out.

Emily who was our guide did a great job and was very engaging. The surprise was how much of the house and furniture were original. This home was passed down through 3 different owners until the city of Kanab purchased the house. We enjoyed our visit very much and would recommend it to anyone with an interest in historical structures.

Colleen Bliss

Thanks to the website, we were able to email Emily and get a January tour! So many original furnishings and fascinating stories and history. This is a treasure not to be missed! Emily even found history on my Great Grandparents (Rachel and Ruben Jolley) friends of the Chamberlain family who lived in this home.

Emily was our tour guide and she did such a great job. I normally am not that into history but she made it very interesting. I would definitely go back to visit. Also probably not a regular thing but she made home made grape juice and let us all try some. She was truly a delight.

The Heritage House Museum is a must see when you’re in Kanab. Emily was our tour guide and was very engaging and knowledgeable. She had an answer to every question we asked. The house is in great condition and is just beautiful, there are details down to the door knobs and hinges. We had a great time and can’t wait to come back! You have to come here and see all the cool history! Thanks for the great tour, keep up the great work!

Emily was our guide and she was very knowledgeable so she made the whole experience fantastic. We had grapes fresh off the vine as well as fresh, unique quince fruit. She explained each aspect of the house to us from the front door to the back and each level of the house, from the basement to the period newspaper lining the attic. Emily explained that she cares very much for her job so she does her best to see that each item possible is authentic. This tour was quite impressive to our group and we were able to have many questions answered. Highly recommended!

Great taste of the early pioneers that settled Kanab. The guide was great to tell us all about it even though the temperature was at freezing even in the home. In spite of the cold we still loved the experience.
