I think it’s a great center, although the volunteers could be a bit nicer.

Neena Plant

The City of South Jordan's support of the arts is clearly demonstrated by the way things are run at the Gale Center.

Justin Haskins

Cool little museum.

Really great learning experience!

Excellent

This has such a great childrens play area! The kids can go back in time and pretend to gather eggs, fish in the 'stream', go to an old-fashioned school, etc. The museum is fun to tour as well. Some of the volunteers are more particular than others so be sure to follow rules, stay off your phone, etc. Takes a little bit of the fun out of it for kids. Mine are rule-followers so they worry they will do something wrong and get in trouble. Just went to one of their special craft days and we had a great time! This museum really is a hidden gem!

Russell Olsen

Great tour guide. Knew lots of interesting stories about the displays. Was very kind about kids wanting to touch things and see with their hands. Found things that were OK for them to touch and look at.

The gale center is a cute historical children's museum with an old fashioned school, store and homestead perfect for kids ages 1-8. However, they clearly hire only the most grumpy kid hating old women that apply. Be prepared to receive a lecture on many aspects of parenting and be watched like a hawk the entire time. If it weren't for the docents we would love this place! The docents goal seems to be to deter people from going since the place is always empty.

Really fun hands on children's museum and it's FREE!

This place is absolutely darling, and my kids LOVE it so much. It’s free, and it’s never crowded. HOWEVER, the docents are belittling and hovering micromanagers. You walk in to a printed version of the rules, then they tell you the rules, then they follow you around making sure you’re following the rules, and they add extra rules like “keep the noise level down,” (uh.....kids are playing?!), and “don’t stand by that huge horse because it might fall on you,” (WHAT?!!! If you are worried about children’s safety, shouldn’t that giant horse be BEHIND A ROPE?!). When a parent tells you they understand the rules, when a kid tells you they understand the rules, LEAVE THEM ALONE, and let them play...and supervise their own children. Also, the dumb rule about not taking stuff from room to room is lame. Also, the rule about keeping the drum beating and bell ringing to a minimum is lame. Take them out if you don’t want to hear them! Whoooooeeee. I’m done.

This is a great little hidden treasure. Fun history tidbits and art.

I am a volunteer and the Gale center is really cute and interesting place for kids and families. You get to learn about the history of South Jordan. There is a house, school, and store kids can play with and it really fun watching them pretend to be teachers and milk cows and buy food in the shop. Best of all, it's free.

Great museum to learn more about the great city of South Jordan. The tour guide, Craig, was super nice. It's nice to have a fun museum like this to teach the kids about the city.

Steph

Very unique and fun historical learning and play center for kids

Brittani Van Wagenen

This is such a fun place for the kids to play + learn, especially when it's too cold for the park!

Kristina Millis

We had no idea that this place even existed, but we were delighted to find it! My children (age 5 and 2) both loved the interactive rooms. The farm and schoolhouse area was their favorite. The best part? It's absolutely free. They have a few rules about picking up after yourselves and no running, but it's completely understandable. When we left they offered treats to the kids, and my kids loved it. They've been asking to go back almost everyday.

If you’re looking for something fun to do in South Jordan with kids, this place is great!! It is so much fun and interactive. Our kids love it! There are a couple docents who can be a little (ok maybe a lot) intense, but don’t let that stop you from checking it out and having a great time!

This place is great! I take my kids there to play and they love it! There are a lot of things they can play with, and it's free. It's a win for mom and a win for my kids!

Thus is a hidden jewel in South Jordan. Kids love it and if you can sweet talk the docents into giving tours outside it's really interesting stuff. Don't be put off by grumpy docents, just remember they are volunteers and most of them are older and don't have a ton of patience. Be kind and respectful and you'll have a fun time. Love the resident on display they have there, as well. Great talent in So Jo!

Sarah Weisenburger

Very hands on a great for small kids. It's like a smaller version of discovery gateway museum. Loved it!

Very informative

The volunteers are not trained to be nice, especially to little kids. Maybe the day you go someone will be kind to your kids, but each time we have gone it has been surprising how mean the lady in charge was to us.
