The ruins are awesome!

A very interesting museum with more pottery than the I was expecting. I loved the stories about where and how some of the pottery was found. The Kiva is neat to explore.

Barry Lyon

Incredible!

Bradley Parke

Great stop to learn about the early Peublo tribes in the area and see the Adobe ruins on the property - you can even enter one of the kiva structures. The museum has one of the largest collections of native American pottery. Well worth the $5/person admission.

The movie, artifacts and displays are incredible of the Ancient Puebloans. The Pueblo ruins have a kiva to enter if you wish. The area is called Cedar Mesa, where many of the artifacts have been found there locally.

The best small town museum in the world. You'll wish you had more time to look around

Brent Renaldi

Excellent displays of the ancient people of the area. Most items displayed are in mind blowing good condition. There are some ruins there that you can walk around and check out. There is a kiva there that was reconstructed that you're allowed to climb down into. Very cool experience for $5 per person. I've been twice in 7 years, and still would go back again.

Riet Schumack

Very nice museum specializing in artifacts from Ancestral Pueblans.

Vanessa Glady

This is an amazing museum and ancient pueblo site. Just follow the signs from 191 in Blanding. I was surprised on the amount of information and the number of artifacts I saw in this museum. Also they are presented in beautiful displays. The pleasant surprise was to be able to enter a reconstructed Kiva through the roof on a ladder. This is what I imagined a Kiva would look like! The pictographs painted on the walls of the museum are beautiful and the information about wall art is very informative. Plan to spend 2 hours here to see the exhibits and read the information. There is also some beautiful art work displayed on the outside of the building. The museum and path around the pueblo is wheelchair friendly.

This place says it has the largest collection of Ancestral Puebloan (Anasazi) pottery on display in the Four Corners Region I also Visited the Edge of the Cedars Pueblo, a village inhabited by the ancestors of contemporary Puebloan peoples from AD 825 to 1125,

Fanda McKinney

A little out of the way but the best museum we went to.

Vermithrax Pejorative

The pueblo ruins on the Edge of the Cedars grounds are not massive or visually impressive compared to some of the other sites in the four corners, but the museum at the park is quite something. The museum has a massive collection of artifacts from the various eras of the Pre Columbian groups who inhabited the area. There are artifacts at this museum that are unrivaled in quality in either public or private collections. If you are the least bit interested in the history of the puebloan people, or the ancient four corners culture, this museum's collection is a must-see.

Scott Henderson

Edge of the Cedars is a jewel in San Juan County. They frequently host special events like Archaeology Day with demonstrations and local artisans. The dispays are excellent with clear explanations. The Anasazi pottery collection is spectacular. The textiles and other artifacts are also amazing. The staff are loaded with helpful information. The museum is directly adjacent to a large Anasazi site and great house with outdoor walkways. A visit will definitely help add context and appreciation to your visit to Bears Ears National Monument and all the ancient treasures of the Colorado Plateau.

great place, and Blanding is a good central location for several such ventures- This one, NAtural bridges, and a few smaller sites on the way there, reasonable drive to Monument Valley Mesa Verde CAnyons of the Ancients etc.. BUT eat early, since everywhere except Subway closes at 2100, and its a dry town.

The place consists of a museum and a short walk to old ruins and outdoors art. The museum was fantastic. It was especially interesting to learn about different crafts, especially weaving. The most impressive items to me were the different sandals. Also has a great photo exhibit.

Rabbi Maya Leibovich

Fantastic museum to understand the history and culture of Pueblo people.Has an archeological site and great interpretive signs.

Michaela Davidson

Very cool place if you like archeology. Lots of interesting artifacts and the site of ruins is neet to see up close.

This museum was a great experience. I wish that I had time and resources to read and go through all the exhibits to learn more about the Pueblo and Anasazi. It costs only $5 to enter. The information about what to do in case of accidental artifacts being stumbled upon while hiking or rock climbing is extremely informative. The ancient native home and ancient "sundial" calendar outside in a field of wildflowers were beautiful and exciting to read about and experience. To top the outside exhibit with beautiful views of the snowcapped mountains in the distance makes this place well worth visiting. The gift shop has relevant and practical items to buy. (To the reviewer that gave this place 4 stars for not allowing dogs inside: Dogs would completely ruin this place. You would have to be an entitled psychotic bully to think your pet dog should be allowed in a museum filled with thousand year old artifacts on an archaeological site! Dog owners are the worst, most selfish people ever!)

Madalyn Seaman

Fabulous! You will not believe the number of amazing articles from the early people's of the area! Well worth a stop.

What a well presented museum of local/regional Native American artifacts and history! The pottery collection is amazing. I personally appreciated that displays were enclosed in super high quality, super clean lucite. They also have an outside trail to explore their on site excavated ancient dwellings including a kiva you can go inside of. They were hosting a beautiful photography exhibit in their gallery when we were there.

This small museum features very effective visual displays of the pictographs, pottery, and architecture of the ancient puebloans. It is very well-cared-for and impressive because it houses artifacts actually found in this Utah area.

Excellent museum of Anaszi history! The mugs alone that they made 700 yrs ago are more beautiful than anything today.

Joe Lewis

It cost money to go to the museum! There is a discount for people over 62.

Randy Fay

A gem of a small museum! They have an amazing collection of local pottery artifacts, and, as a working museum, there was staff actually working on cleaning and identifying shards that we could watch. There's a recreation of a kiva that you can climb down into (where it was pleasantly cool on a recent 100+ degree day), and a partially excavated village. Many wall panels provided fascinating glimpses into the history of the peoples of this area, both first peoples and early Europeans. If you're in the area, this place should definitely rate a visit.

Ellen Kyles

A museum featuring the history of the Pueblo community. The museum houses an extensive collection of pottery. It also has an art gallery highlighting local artists.

Brenda Messling

The museum has grown a lot over the years. I would call this a must see for anyone who visits the area and is interested in the history. I've not been there in several years but the museum used to host a lot of cultural events that really made it special. I loved the local art exhibits of paintings and sculpture. There is a special place in my heart for Anasazi pottery (yes I know the term is no longer politically correct) and the museum has a beautiful collection. I look forward to my next visit.

Fascinating museum and ruins in the town of Blanding, Utah. The focus is on evangelizing that when someone discovers a Native American artifact, one should report it to the Bureau of Land Management and to experts in the field of Native American archaeology. The museum contains one of the largest collections of Ancestral Puebloan (Anasazi) pottery and artifacts in the Four Corners area.

dave

There is so much to see here if you are interested in the petroglyphs of the early inhabitants. Some places are restricted in the number of visitors and others are strenuous hikes. Permits may be required in certain areas. Not easy to get to petroglyphs but well worth the trouble. Rangers are present in the field as well as the field office. Wonderful exhibits at the ranger station.

Taylor Earl

If you are passing through Blanding, this is a cool museum to visit. Has a lot of exhibits about the people that lived here before us. The really cool part is out behind the Museum. They have a dwelling you can climb down into. Super cool!
