An interesting place with lots of information about the settlement of Utah and the conflict between the Saints and the Federal Government. There is a museum on site with articles that have been discovered at the location as well as a graveyard, and historical buildings for a self-guided tour. A gift shop. Sometimes staff have been known to teach games played by soldiers during the occupation of Camp Floyd.

There is not much left of Camp Floyd. There is the old commissary, stagecoach station, and cemetery. There is also the old school nearby as well. The staff member on hand was very friendly and played for us a short 10 min video about the camp. It was interesting to learn about the Mormon Rebellion.

The central Overland Trail passed through here. The pony express then the telegraph. Historic ground here Walk a cross the road and check out the Big Spring the reason this place exists. Just west of here is 5 mile pass, A route through the country since ancient times. Petroglyphs on the rocks at that location! At one time more than 2500 soldiers were stationed here.

This is one of my favorite places on Earth, it is the most pristine and tranquil place in all of the state of Utah. It is fun for kids and adults alike, and the commissary has all kinds of interesting books and treats for the kids. A bit off the beaten path, but it is such a cool place it is worth the drive.

While this museum is small it is dense it its exhibits. There is a lot to learn here not just about the history of Utah but the American Civil War and greater 19th century as well. It is well worth the price of admission and the couple of hours it will take you to soak it all in.

This is a very cool historical place to visit. It’s very interesting to discover and learn about something from so long ago. When visiting this place, it’s like taking a step back in time and witnessing some of what life would have been like at that time. The camp itself has a museum that has some actual memorabilia from the soldiers. Just across the street there is the Stagecoach Inn which is really old but well maintained. It contains actual furniture from the time! Just behind the inn is a pretty park with plenty of space for various activities. Also, just east of the park (down the road a little) sits the old schoolhouse. Just a minute or two drive, southwest of Camp Floyd, you’ll find the old cemetery for the soldiers from Camp Floyd. Hearing about the stories in which these soldiers had passed is interesting and sparks morbid curiosity (which I absolutely dig, no pun intended). Overall, I highly recommend that you take a visit. It is definitely worth seeing and exploring all the cool and interesting things that this place has to offer.
