Pretty cool to come here and experience history. They have a lot of signs up that tell you about the camp. Was cool to learn that it was one of the biggest camps in the west. They also have drawings to show you where houses, stables, food stores, and army tents were.

Deborah Bracken

Underutilized state park that is well-run. I recommend going on one of their special weekends where they bring in groups or hold additional, generally free activities. Talk to the staff and you can head down to the school was well just down the road.

A good place to learn about Latter Day Saint history & the US Army. The tourist guide is an ASL interpreter.

The history here is amazing. They have great summer camps for kids and are great for fields trips.

We went to camp Floyd for the first time for a school field trip. My son loved the camp. There is a lot of things for kids and adults to do and activities as well. The museum of artifacts was so educational and the museum was and original building that was built around 1858 and the artifacts were also from that time period. There is even a real potato from that time period as well. They hold a camp for children 8-11 years of age in the summer and we are looking forward to enroll our children for 3 days. It's a place that must be seen!

The places to go are limited and smaller (most of the fort has been torn down from time and weather), but informative and a fun place to take kids. The Stagecoach Inn is fun to tour. If you like history, then this is a cool place to visit. There's a synopsis video in the commissary, as well as artifacts from that time. The Inn has steep staircases, so be aware. We spent maybe 1.5 hours exploring.
