REVIEWS OF Anasazi State Park Museum IN Utah

Chad Thornley

Cool museum with some neat things to see. On the smaller side, but you can see a replica hut outside and also some real ones that are excavated and blocked off. Small gift ship inside as well. There was a $10 entrance fee per family.

M Silva

Fun place for families

Nice place, well maintained, nicely organized. Not too big, gives you a good idea on ancient life.

Very nice exhibits. Information from the "information desk" was less than forthcoming nor accurate.

Nice well curated small museum. Friendly staff. Be sure to check out the archaeological site out back too.

Angus Bennion

This is a small museum with fascinating ruins in the back. It costs $5 to see both the museum and the excavations in the back. For a small museum it has a lot of cool things: artifacts, videos, interactive stations for kids, and a gift shop. The ruins in the back are really cool, there’s also a replica of an Anasazi structure that you can go into.

Shibu Alapatt

Ok good

Kay Tomlinson

Nice little state park. The history of the area is amazing.

Ying Wong

Get updated weather information here. And you could ask for recommended place to visit around the area. You could know more about the history of the area from the museum.

Great sidetrip.

Darlene Fenescey-Leto

Smaller than I expected, but the history is great!

Richelle Gilhauley

Very nice small museum lots of great history about the Native American culture of the Navajo and Pueblans. They have some interactive exhibits, a short movie and outside you see the Coombs Site Ruins along with a replica pueblo. Definitely worth visiting. I want to add that I bought a beautiful sandstone piece made by one of the local artists from the museum gift shop which broke on my journey home. I have since followed up with Becky at the museum and she has been incredible In helping me to get it replaced!

Mike Lee

Disappointing. Very small actual ruins. The museum was ok. Just not worth the drive from Capitol Reef.

Gary Wells-lakeland

Great experience of who lived there

sandra russell

Nice visitors center with informational movie.

Small museum, but worth the inexpensive admission. There's a nice quiet park out front with picnic tables and almost-daily food trucks. Inside, there's lots to learn about the Anasazi and out back there's a lifesize recreation of the to explore, along with the original site.

Sandra Terry

Awesome large area displays, a magnificent supplement to our study group with a geologist!

Fran Caughlan

Interesting stop to make to see ruins from 1400 AD. Along with artifacts from the time. It is worth the time.

AmethystDabbingBudz Pimienta

So neat

Kyle Clements

Fun stop on the way to Escalante. Our main reason for stopping here was to find the Geocache located inside, but we enjoyed the exhibits and I was happy to see the two teens we brought along did too. The only downside was that the pictures of amazing ruins they draw you in with are actually fake. They are photos of a replica Anasazi home. The actual ruins are only the foundations of what used to be their homes.

Amanda Bolle

Clean restroom. Very little nearby.

Biff Baker

It's not super exciting, but if you're in the neighborhood you should check it out. Rural Utah.

James Knight

Not great.

Daniel Hasbrook

Small but interesting

Brett Swanson

The museum had a lot of info and visuals inside and free of the old Native American living areas, but there wasn't a lot for the ten dollar per-party charge.

Tess Obenauf

Images from the website look far more exciting than the actual museum and gift shop. It wasn't what I expected from reading online...and it wasn't notably marked for directions into the parking lot and where you wanted to go to, so you just pick a door and go for it. I even saw people arrive in the parking lot...wander...and just completely wash the path outside the building. The gift shop is minimally staffed, and while we had questions, we never found someone to answer them. The sites were interesting, but, the area was small. It wasn't horrible but, it didn't meet the level of hype from the online presence.

Jonathan Ware

Pretty cool! It's well worth the money. Lots of interesting artifacts, replicas, etc, and the ruins were interesting to see as well. Kids would definitely enjoy this. The gift shop was alright; there's just a lot of stuff in a compact place. Definitely worth a quick stop!

Vincent Rebetez

Si vous passez par Boulder, ce petit parc est intéressant entre les quelques ruines à visiter à l'extérieur ainsi que le musée répertoriant nombre d'objets anasazi retrouvés lors des fouilles.

Meagan Pinales

Cute quaint little town. Clean restrooms and the museum is a good, decent, air conditioned stop.

Jerry Abreu

Nice female worker. Very sweet.

Robert Lusk

This Museum is educational but dated. The indoor exhibits are old and dusty. The outdoor 'Archeological Site' looks poorly staged and doesn't match what they describe it as. The staff was passive aggressive and seemed uninterested in the Museum.

Gary Chiles

It's ok

Patricia O

First trip to Utah and I appreciated learning some history of the Anasazi. The displays are well done. The small gift shop had a lot of interesting things too. I think the entry fee was only $5. It's small so a visit won't take up a lot of your day, but a worthwhile stop.

Carrie Marsh

They do a Jr. Ranger activity book and badge here for kids, which is awesome. Only $10 entrance fee for the family. Small museum, but perfect for a quick stop on the drive between Capitol Reef and Grand Staircase and small enough that it kept the kids interested. Good variety of artifacts which were all found on site. We thought the ruins were cool.

Timothy Taylor

Great place to learn about the local indigenous cultures and see ruins.

Eric Peltier

Great little museum, and the ruins are very cool, too. Nice little gem!

Marilyn Brustad

Just off the road. Good historical site

brayden dotson

Bad customer service

Kay Hargis

kestutis nikolajevas

amazing history and that blue bus that you see in my pictures has one of the best egg and sausage sandwiches i ever had and it's right on the property of the museum.

Deb Phillips

I love going to these places especially in the Indian relics are just beautiful and it's amazing that they last that long and that people made such beautiful things years and years and years ago I just enjoy going to museums and that was a great place to go enjoyed it thoroughly

(Translated by Google) In the description I have seen more houses to see, yet a small and informative museum about this population. A model house is there to visit / enter. Entrance to the whole museum costs $ 5 p.P. A gift shop with u.a. handmade jewelry, parking and picnic area in the countryside, small kiosk in the beautifully remodeled school bus and swing for the little ones on the premises.

Lori Pederson

Great little stop for visitor info and to see some Anasazi ruins in the back. Get out and stretch your legs after the drive! There was a food truck in the parking lot too. Super nice lady at the desk to ask your questions. The ruins are pretty amazing.

Kevin Cole

Great display both inside and out.

Amanda Hunt

This Museum has an actual pit house and village that has been preserved. The artifacts that were found is intriguing and interesting.

Jenai Estrada

There's really not much to see. The museum is very nice, but very small. They have a replica of what the old houses looked like, but the only authentic ruins were a few rocks 6-8" tall laid out in the dirt and a large hole in the ground. The drive there on Highway 12 was terrifying because of the great heights, steep cliffs with no guard rails, and blind curves. It was definitely not worth the long drive to see so little.

George Stossel

Interesting
