REVIEWS OF Witte Museum IN Texas

Rebecca Vance

Some of the exhibits in the back were empty, but facilities were nice.

Em C

Great museum and exhibit with beautiful grounds and activities! A little on the expensive side though. Definitely worth a visit at least once if you are visiting or a local resident. Staff was very friendly and the facilities were clean.

Clare Segers

Wonderful informative museum so much fun to go to specially for families!

Kat Parrish

They have so much for kids to do! Really for all ages to do. We went in a field trip, but it would be great for family time.

Myron Dennis

Don't miss this very unique museum if you're visiting San Antonio and ESPECIALLY if you live here! It has undergone a massive renovation and all exhibits have been updated. Many more interactive components and a spectacular display featuring the birds and animals that are part of the Texas hill country. I can't say enough about how special this museum is...not just science, not just history, not just art, but the perfect combination of all three. I insist that you go asap!

Ian Beavis

Excellent displays and explanations. Great information on this part of Texas

Louie

This museum has undergone a recent renovation which makes the actual facility very attractive. Some of the displays are very astutely placed and the space is used in a way that is conducive to crowd-flow. Having said that, this museum does have an identity issue. It is somewhere between a museum of natural history with a small dose of Texas history and a smaller dose of a fine art museum thrown in the confusing mix. Of course only deep pockets and politicos have any say in which way a museum's direction would go, but since there is an adjacent research facility, common sense would say that the Witte would best be served by becoming, completely, and natural history museum. Be that as it may, it won't be a waste of your day to go by there, just don't expect a museum consistent with the size of the city it's located in.

Taylor C Lee

The best place to chill with family and children. It’s huge. It has many interesting things such as dinosaurs lab, survival exhibit(not included in normal admission.) it’s worth money for the trip.

Marissa Harris

We went to see the mythical creatures exhibit. It didn't have as much of a variety of creatures as i thought it would, but the exhibit was still fun

Mike Snyder

Enjoyed the overall visit. Museum presents an interesting historical saga of the region. Exhibits range from dinosaurs, early indigenous tribes to settlers. We went on a Tuesday, the museum offered free admission. Check the website to make sure it is still offered.

Megan

I had a few hours to take the kids on an adventure. So we saw that the Witte Museum was on the museum reciprocity list and decided to try it out. Pros: - Parking was free. - The kids LOVED digging for dinosaur bones. - They also LOVED the water table topographical map. - The Health area had fun parts... like measuring stride lengths. - There was a lot of variety to see. Cons: - There was very little "hands on" in most of the areas. And the kids didn't want me to read them every sign. - The Health part wasn't all working. And the bicycles and stair stepper were too tall/big for my average height early elementary aged kids. - This museum is very spread out. And the signs to show where to go was lacking. If there was a building with bugs, which I thought there was, we didn't find it. We spent about 2.5 hours here. But I was glad it was free for us. For my early elementary aged children the DoSeum was a better fit.

Sarah De Leon

I finally got a chance to see the newly renovated Witte Museum and it was great! A lot more interactive and things to see and learn. A lot of Texas history and culture. I would definitely recommend going. I believe I saw everything there and it took about two and a half hours.

Jennifer Flanagan-Rodriguez

Excellent outing for summer time. Enjoyed all the exhibits and park in close and convenient in the parking garage.

June Randow

Fabulous my grandson loved it. So did I

Dan Wenger

Just fun to go with the kids. A lot of good displays.

John Almaraz

Great museum. Lots to see and al whole lot of hands on stuff. The interactive displays around the dinosaurs make it accessible to even the smaller kids who usually lose thier attention just looking at bones. There is lots of explore if your are willing to do just that. Gift shop even has some really nice stuff! Great way to kill an afternoon in S.A.

Benjamin Brown

A great museum for adults and kids alike. There is a ton of informational displays about dinosaurs, nature, the history of Texas and the people of the Pecos. Plenty of activities and interesting things for kids to run around and touch and experience as well.

Amanda Durgin

I love this museum! We recently (august) got a member ship which I highly recommend. It pays for itself with just one use. You get in on opening day for specials

Robert Witt

Amazing museum. So much attention to detail. A wonderful place for children. Exhibits change regularly. This is so worth visiting. A family annual pass is only $95, and is totally worth it.

Kenneth Ratliff

This was a beautiful place to spend the day with my family. We enjoyed its great beauty and educational aspects. We will certainly go there again.

Terry Lipscomb

I love museums and this one was very nice. It's small but has a very nice dinosaur and first inhabitant exhibits. The western exhibit artifacts were nice too. The fiesta blast from the past exhibit was a little disappointing, thus the four stars. I plan to visit again.

Denise Cooper

This museum is a must see! Our 13 yr old daughter loved it! We did too! Very interactive and just so cool!! Staff was extremely polite and helpful! Great attraction for vacay!!

Charles Stone

This was a second visit and still very interesting. Texas comes alive through the wall art and the floor displays which present a progression through the decades. There were additional displays this time also.

Dolores Gonzalez

Really enjoyed this Museum! So many things to look at, especially all of the art work. The dinosaurs were incredible!

Craig Ayers

The Witte Museum is a fun place to visit for kids and adults. It cover a lot of Texas history. From Dinosaurs, Indians, Settlers, Wars, Wildlife to Modern day living. It also has fun activities for the kiddos.

Kay Gacho

They're always changing their exhibits to keep things fresh. They've undergone massive renovations and it looks good. Parking is much better than it used to be and it's a great way to get out of the heat and learn something during the Summer. It's great all year round I'm sure.

Tristan

The Witte museum was very cool. Lost of historical objects as well as a lit ball room.

Joshua Brockwell

My 5 year old son and 2 year old daughter love it. There's a lot to do and see. It's interactive, educational, and there are enough wow moments to keep them excited. At the same time, it's deep enough for adults. We're members (best value by far!) and we take full advantage of it throughout the year. My kids get excited about going back. The traveling exhibits are fun for a change, and if you go opening weekend, they're free for members.

Tiffany Heese

I wouldn't bring children too much younger than 5. The HEB activity exhibit is really cool and interactive and the dinosaurs are always a hit with my kids. It's more of a cultural and Texas history museum than art or science. Overall a good experience, but we probably won't go back.

Maryann Ramirez

It was great. Enjoyed my family time.

eubaldo moreno

Had a wonderful time there with the family. So many different things to see and do. Has a totally different look after remodeling their exhibits. Highly recommend taking a trip there.

Nora Barrera

Very educational and plenty of interactive displays keeps everyone from teenagers to toddlers captivated. Friendly staff. Big open spaces make you feel like you've entered another world

Sandra Diaz

The remodel is incredible! If you haven't been in a while, it's time for you to check out the updated exhibits and new interactives for the kids. The Texas art exhibit is awesome!

Janette Ramos

Enjoyed our visit at the Witte, we were there for a special event.

Alisha Ochoa

I went to the aerospace exhibits and they were very informative and hands on! I took my kids on a Tuesday when it's free from 3 to 8 but you still have to pay for whatever current exhibit is on display, I paid $5 a person. It was worth it ten times over! We had a blast learning about space and it's pros and cons of living outside of earth. This museum is beautiful and suits every child's curiosity; from dinosaurs to the way the body works. The only problem I had was parking; it was a mess, be careful!

Cynthia Ward

Visiting from out of town and was looking for things for my 13 y.o daughter and I could do. Found the Witte Museum and it was a wonderful experience. The staff is truly what makes this place! We visited on a Tuesday evening (10/01/2019) and the greeter and the front door was super nice and helpful. Once in the museum we saw the attractions in the main area and saw the special mythical creatures exhibit, which was cool and has it's own fun gift shop with some more comical items like a rubber unicorn mask. The next area we visited was the H.E.B anatomy lab area, some of these exhibits could use a little TLC but it is aimed at children. However this is where we spent the most time. On the second floor they have an interactive electronic display anatomy table that seems like cutting edge technology. What made this the best part was the medical student that is there. My daughter is extremely interested in human anatomy, we spent probably close to an hour at the table, with her asking all kinds of anatomy questions and the medical student teaching her through the use of the table. I didn't think to ask his name, but wish I would have so I could have let someone know how great he was, which is why I'm writing this in hopes that maybe he can be acknowledged for the awesome experience he provided.

C3micalPrisoner

Honestly one of the coolest museums I've ever been to!! Considering I am an adult and dont get entertained by museums that much anymore, this one is an exception! Had so much fun here. Definitely reccomend

Arturo Munoz

It was a great place to visit. Not at all what I was expecting, but in a good way. The family loved it. We were there for nearly 4 hours, and there were things that we still weren't able to get to. We'll definitely come back to it again.

David Ring

I was very excited to go to the museum on my solo trip to San Antonio. Unfortunately, I was a little bit disappointed on how the museum was set up. there was nothing that really wowed me. I just felt like the exhibits were getting something somewhat outdated and they needed to really spark up what the hold museum was about. There are a lot of opportunity to make this museum phenomenal.

Chelsea Aguinaga

My 2 year old absolutely loves this place! Lots of interactive exhibits (huge plus.) Everything here is about Texas from native wild life to the old Western way of life. They even have the dinosaur fossils that were native to this region millions of years ago! We go every Tuesday and I feel as though we always find out something new!

J Frizzi

Great place to take family. The displays are highly interpretive and clearly aimed at a young audience so don't expect a Smithsonian atmosphere. The place is spacious and well laid out with walking paths that intuitively guide you through the displays without feeling like you're being herded.

Bo Shue

The Witte is a great place for adults and children. There are exhibits inside and outside. You can easily spend a whole day here.

Cody Lee

Great museum. Tuesday is free (during summer) I believe. Lot of kid friendly things.

Doreen Reynolds

Great place to spend the day. The educational labs are a nice touch.

Jennifer Felan

OMG!!! The upgraded renovation is awesome and I especially loved the Survival exhibit with the obstacle course. I tried it on a date and it was scary and adventurous. All the other exhibits were very fun to see too. I am definitely coming back again.

Cindy Garcia

It was a nice visit, we weren't able to stay and see everything, but it was pretty cool.

Michael Svoboda

A little pricey, but a fun spot if your kids are under 10 years old. A few artifacts, a good walk, a few dinosaurs, not a bad stop

Lauren E

The dinosaurs are definitely fun! The 3D touchscreens that show the facts about each one were a hit with my 7 year old. Fun Dino dig area too. Landscaping is absolutely beautiful— lots of pretty places to just sit and enjoy beside the river. North American native section was very nice as well with a beautiful short film showing on a panoramic screen.

Woodman Bull

This museum is very large and has everything from dinosaur skeletons to San Antonio history to a Texas wildlife/land area. There is a really neat outdoor kids area. The area describing the history of San Antonio was so interesting and you could spend a lot of time there just soaking it all in. Beautiful museum!

Tesha Gore

My 5 stars is for the museum itself. The museum was great, the exhibits were done well. My children loved looking at everything and liked learning about everything on display. They also loved the animals from the different regions and dinosaurs. My one critique is that most of the employees were busy on there phones. They didn't pay attention to the children during some of the exhibits they were responsible for.

Nellie Lopez

Loved the top floor exhibit 'People of the Pecos'. Thought the rock art exhibit was especially creative, interactive, and informative. The actual sites would be too difficult for me to access - thank you, Witte Museum, for making me feel as if I were there. Also enjoyed the natural history exhibits about all of the various topography and ecosystems in Texas - I had no idea! This was a very nice museum but just wasn’t for us. I would recommend it for others to try especially with kids.

Kenzi

It's a little small, so I do wish there was more, but it's beautiful and has a charm that sticks with you.

zthwst

Front receptionist Gabrielle was amazing. she helped us with general information and also the benefits of our new membership.

Chesca Stanford

The mixture of art and culture was surprisingly well put together. The exhibits were fabulous and very informative. They have some first-class exhibits as well as interactive experiences. The scenery is top-notch since the gardens and outdoor exhibits are located on the San Antonio River. Great!

David Hook

Brand new! The Witte Museum was always a fun place to go; however, the results of the major remodeling are extraordinary. If you haven't been recently, go!

Luticha Neria

Love how you can interact with some of the exhibitions. So much beautiful art work to see.

John Atkins

Beautiful natural history museum with lots of regional artifacts and special exhibitions that get switched around occasionally. Their level of craft and technology works great with the space and the grounds and building are beautiful. You can learn lots about Texas history before modern settlers and experience amazing dioramas of Texas wildlife. Another great San Antonio Museum stop.

Laurie Yeater

Love the activities and love that it's free on Tuesdays afternoons

Rachael Graham

Tuesday evenings are free! They have so many different exhibits and a really nice garden. The animals are so beautiful my favorite was the Texas wildlife exhibit! Definitely worth a look!

Prasanna Negalur

Beautiful museum with well maintained fossils and archaeological artifacts.. good theater shows about Texas aboriginal history and birds.. really impressed with it.. will be visiting again !!

Mary Friday

Went to the jazz performance by the Austin group Nori this afternoon. What an amazing blend of talent! The vocalist's voice was beautiful and clear, the guy playing the trumpet, the bass guitar player, and the guy on the keyboard were wonderful. The percussionist was outstanding: I love how he smiled as he performed! I highly recommend this group if you enjoy jazz! The Witte Museum was such a nice venue for this music. I didn't go all around the museum, but the parts I saw were very well done. I plan to go back again this summer!

Eric Garcia

Diversity of breadth. A grand museum for kids and adults alike, perhaps a bit too diverse in the respect that its a taste of everything, insofar as detail, a taste, perhaps depth is something that I missed. Gorgeous grounds and a spectacular place for the whole family, numerous exhibits dedicated to children,

L Nett

Kids loved the exhibits. The survival training was fun and I learned something new.

LORA MACALL

They have private rooms for birthday parties with the museum including, had granddaughter birthday party, kids of all ages had view and very educational..

nicholas tolbert

Extremely pleasant atmosphere that begins when you walk into the museum. This is a very kid friendly space and everyone of the staff that I came into contact with was very friendly. The mixture of art and culture was surprisingly well put together. This is a must see when you come in to town. Prices for entry are very reasonable.

Janet Hargraves

An interesting place to spend the afternoon, we enjoyed the special exhibit of myth or fact creatures like mermaids, Griffin's, cyclops. Plus all the animals of Texas. Good family time.

Tee Emm

Great place. After e on Tuesday free. Really nice family hang out place9

Mark Greenwood

Interesting diversity of content and context. Maybe a little too diverse, at least for my tastes. The H.E.B. Body Adventure didn't seem to fit and in with the overall Texas heritage and history themes, for example. Still an interesting museum and beautiful grounds. Good place for kids and adults alike. Numerous interactive exhibits for kids.

Sarah Kate Smith

I toured the Witte Museum today with my husband. We are 24 and 25 with no kids and still had a great time! While much of the museum is geared towards being "kid-friendly," there is plenty to enjoy and learn from for adults. It has everything from prehistoric exhibits, to native Americans, to western cattle drivers, and plenty of historical exhibits about Texas specifically. Many of the displays are interactive. My husband and I even enjoyed the HEB Body portion of the museum. When you enter, you type in your name and email to get a "power pass." You use that pass to participate in a few physical tests (like heart rate and energy exertion). At the end of each test/activity, you scan your pass again and then finally it prints you out a card with all of your info on it. The grounds surrounding the museum are beautiful and well-kept, and they have several spots meant for just sitting and enjoying the natural scenery. There are lots of picnic tables if you wanted to eat on outside on your visit. This is a great place for all ages!

KRISTINA RAMIREZ

Nice place to bring kids. Lots of history and Natural Science exhibitions.

Alaina Lowen

We attended the "Whiskey Business" event at the Witte Museum and had such a nice time. The vibe was very eclectic and chic. It was my first time and I had a blast! Tip: Wear flats and a comfortable dress/slacks bc it was grassy and hot

Joshua Hernandez

Institutions like this are a blessing to future generations of growing minds.

A R

I went for a family night. The exhibits were many, and I don't believe I got around to everything. Two levels, and I liked how they have mannequins that are extremely lifelike who tell some stories. They also have quite a few spots that are hands on interactive, digging out fossils or what have you. There is also an outdoor space which I didn't get to check out due to staying in til closing, lol, but definitely next time.

Roxy Beaudet

A wide variety of exhibits. Minus one star because a lot of the interactive exhibits in the body section didn't work properly.

LoriM

What a great museum! This was a field trip and it was such an engaging day. The kids started with rotations through docent led presentations that were engaging and informative. There was a pavilion area for lunch, but it's a distance from the storage areas for lunches. It was great to have an air conditioned closet to store the lunches, but it would be helpful to have some carts or wagons to transfer the food. The afternoon was spent roaming and the kids really loved the HEB Tree House. We could have spent the entire day there. We are planning our return trip to see everything we missed!

yo boy

Great exhibit. Even better company.

jessica canyon

Love this place. A great place to take your children and cool for older people as well

Tawsha Nichols

Went to see the Mythical Creatures exhibit. I have been to the Witte many times, but my friends have never been. The staff was amazing and didn't give us a hard time about our service animals. They were very accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed the museum! Always something new to learn when I go!

Ceri McCandless

The Witte is a fantastic museum, with something for everyone. The additions and improvements they have made over the last few years are incredible. They have some first class exhibits as well as interactive experiences.

Megan Fraise

Its a nice museum. Very friendly and informative staff but its a little over priced.

Virginia Hil

This place is very peaceful, great exhibits. Fun and amazing information, love the movies. The sky is a great view.

Rachel Wackenfeld

Visited the museum and loved the interactive installations! It kept my 8yr old boy engaged and learning. The facility is well maintained and has revolving exhibitions. The perminant exhibits include those of natural, scientific and cultural significance. The admission is reasonable there's free parking and they offer military discounts. They even host birthday parties. Well definitely be back!

Michael

Beautiful place with nice new exhibits. The park behind the museum in the garden is peaceful and has a small cafe with snacks.

keanu ramos

Thank you the witte for allowing Fox Tech High School to enter the museum for free and allowing us to have a great time. Always great and high standards 5/5 stars

Mark Hall

Really excellent, though somewhat small and disorganized feeling. Parking was free and nearby. Signage within the building was lacking to help find special exhibits, but the exhibits themselves were excellent. The biomes of Texas exhibit is compelling, and the "Mythic Creatures" special presentation struck a great balance between presenting fantasy and the history of the belief in them. Highly reccomended, but don't be shy about asking directions.

taylor G

Was very fun. There is so much to do and experience. Kids will love it. We went on tuesday so there was a discount and it wasn't crowded. The dinosaurs were my favorite part. Just adults going I wouldnt buy the extra survival exhibit because it is more interactive for kids but if you have kids for sure it is a must.

Chelsea Cox

While I really wanted to love this place, it wasn't exactly what I was hoping for. I enjoyed what we saw and it was great for older school age children but I think for the age of my children it wasn't ideal so I was slightly disappointed. There were lots of different exhibits and places to see but I felt a bit rushed through them as if they could have been a bit more complete.

Debra Manrique

Always a nice visit. Love when it's free on Tuesday evenings. I've been visiting the Witte for 20+ and it has gone through a lot of positive changes. It's nice to still see the things I saw back then mixed in with great new things!

JoAnn Gutierrez

Went to free Tuesday event at witte. Loved it. No lines. And took my time reading and enjoying all the different things they offered.

Michelle Reyna

One of my favorite museums to visit. It is a great place to take your children to learn about various things. The HEB treehouse is also fun for the kids! Can't wait to go back.

Vicki Mcdonald

So much to see! The exhibits were fabulous and very informative. Loved the mythical creatures exhibit.

Chloe Seeger

Hands on activities, breath taking displays and friendly people. It had a great mix of art and artifacts from notable people. Dinosaur exhibit was impressive.

Robert Russell

I have watched the museum evolve over the past 45 years. It has evolved from a wonderful little museum that I visited as a child to a incredible museum and event center. There is always something new.

Linda Pollock

Kid friendly, hands on exhibits. Overlooks Breckenridge Park. Tree house great view!

Warren Jordan

We loved it so much we ended up getting season passes. The employees are all so friendly and helpful my son was starting to get a little flustered and one of the older gentleman employee say him having a hard time and gave him a quarter and told him hey you want to see how a block hole works!! Put the quarter here at watch. He stayed and watched it with him and he was fine after that. My kids now want to go every weekend!

JoAnn Cummings

We had so much fun and there were so many exhibits to touch, see, and learn about!

Jason Browder

What an amazing museum. This place is great. It is a great place to go on these hot summer days.

Daniel Michalik

Wow this place is a heck of a lot bigger than I remember as a kid! They have spent a lot of money renovating and expanding this place and it shows. While it is beautiful and has pretty good exhibits, it is kind of pricey.

Koto Qabal

Mediocre museum at best. Really small. The architecture is kinda cool at least

Jeremy Fernandez

Fantastic museum with plenty of unique and fun exhibits. I've attended events hosted here and its such a great venue.

Mariah Bull

Kids love this place! And its free on first Tuesday of the month after 3 pm great afternoon family time!

Phon Macy

We went an hour before they closed, but the front staff were super accommodating. We popped in for a quick look at the mystical creature exhibit. We were blown away by the rest of the exhibits and wish we had more time. There was also a wedding taking place once they closed, such a cool place to hold an event! We can’t wait to go back!

Hannah

Very beautiful building and cool fossils in the main entryway. Despite the huge building, the museum feels fairly small. There's a section on Texas fauna, and San Antonio history like cowboys and the flour mill but that was about it. Very well constructed though and good exhibits, if we're looking at quality over quantity. The fossils were definitely my favorite part. The back outdoors area is really nice and provides some good spots for reflection and resting your feet, but again there's not much out there which I had hoped there would be.

Monica Martinez

Very cool place. Kept a three old entertained so we really enjoyed the museum.

Klaudia Wynne Kendall

Great museum for everyone. The exhibits are interactive and range from science to art to archaeology. Super neat and a great way to spend a few hours. Plus they have a student discount! Perfect!

Helen Newman

Stellar place. Organized and accurate. Very informative

Shelly Bean

This museum is amazing! My kids love it and I love it too. There are so many different areas to check out and the kids will stay entertained. They just started the Adventure Awaits exhibit and it's a very informative presentation on wilderness survival. Also, they have an area where you can see animals from each of the different regions in Texas and that is probably our favorite exhibit. There's outside and inside parts and plenty of hands on stuff for the kids. It's cheaper to just do a membership as opposed to paying for regular admission if you live around here and plan to come more than once. You also receive discounts for other things as a member (ex: discount at gift shop).

Alex

Kids love going and that's really what's important and matters most

Barbara Murphy

We absolutely love the Witte! Now that it has been redesigned, it is even better! The docents, and tour guides are really knowledgeable, and keep my kids interested in the topic at hand. The fossil learning lab, rock learning lab, and the Pecos people lab, have hands on displays for everyone. The kids love the HEB tree house, as well. The Witte has Natural Texas history, cultural history, science all under one roof. Definitely a San Antonio treasure. Bring a picnic and enjoy the picnic area. Go early, and when you are done in the museum, enjoy the train ride thru Breckenridge Park.

vicki barrett

Great place to take home schoolers, especially. History of Texas is great learning too!

Andrew Cummings

The Witte Museum The Great Way Learn And Discover Come Have Fun With your whole family

Daniel Olmos

On the smaller side but still nice and entertaining

Barnabas Kneill

With the remodel of this museum, it can only get better from here. It is a lovely museum with great Texas history. The outdoor gardens and river running through made for a pleasant day, especially if the weather is fresh. There was a band playing and people could sit out and relax. I can definitely see wedding events, etc taking place in the courtyard. The staff was kind and the entrance fee decent. There are places to sit and offered headphones for a small fee, I believe. Will return. :)

Amy Chu

My daughter had a great time. Beautiful museum with interactive exhibits. We didn’t have time to explore the whole museum because it was so big. The special planet pioneers exhibit was nice but there were too many people and you had to wait in line to interactive with the exhibits. The body museum was very nice.

Richard Reich

Grandson loved the dinosaurs and Mythic creature exhibit.

Jaquie S.

Great place ! Love the free Tuesdays, but you do have to pay for the featured event during that time if you want to participate. The rest of the grounds and all are open and free though. Kiddos had a blast for sure.

Tara L

Amazing place. Great for school field trips. Their dinosaur sculptures are amazing!

SENG CHUIN LU

Perfect spot to bring your kids! It's very organized and modern-looking museum. Not much stuffs for adults though, but hey there is free admission on every Tuesdays (from 3pm to 8pm). Bring your date to walk around.

Michele yvette

Awesome!!!! Beautiful and clean... Except for the baby that projectile vomited by the cpr dummy. Loved it though, would definitely go back!

Eris Carvajal

yo that guy with the projected face is the reason im giving 5 stars

Wanda Levy

It is an all day Museum for sure! There is so much to see...we took 2 of our oldest granchildren to the Survival Exhibition and it was super fabulous! They are 10 and 6 and they absolutely loved it! They want to go back and see and do more of the other things. We got there around 2 and at 5 we were barely out of the Survival Exhibit. We rushed over to the HEB Buddy part of the museum and we had missed the rock climb and the skycycle. I would give this Museum a 10 stars, it is truly a beautifully created museum. You will enjoy it no matter your age. We plan to become members now...we love it!

Tim Ashwood

Very informative and fun museum, great for families or inquisitive adults

Dwayne M.

Beautiful here, great historical data and beautiful grounds!

Jillerina K

Astronomy on Tap pairing with Witte is awesome! Great event

Dorothy Desouzaguedes

Well-designed, thoughtful layout with a wide variety of exhibits and beautiful, shady grounds. From dinosaurs to space travel, pollinator paintings to exhibits depicting people from Texas' past, kids hands-on activities to plenty of room for strolling or tables and benches for sitting, this museum is a great way to spend a relaxing few hours. Note: few women included in Texas history, lots of snakes (eek!) In nature exhibits.

JP Gomez

A great museum that highlights the history of Texas in a multitude of ways. From art to natural history and children's health it makes for a good day with the family. The scenery is top notch since the gardens and outdoor exhibits are located on the San Antonio river.

Mayreni Falcon

Awesome place to have high quality family time. They have free admission every Tuesday after 3pm. The staff and volunteers are super friendly!

Kayla Jones

I loveeed this museum. I spent 2 hours here and only left because of other plans. Definitely worth seeing. Make sure to have enough time.

Bob Ehr

A nice compact museum which was perfect to spend a couple of hours before leaving San Antonio on our airplane flight out. Interesting to learn about the early inhabitants, animals and the early settlers.

Colleen Zwiebel

Nice place. The price is a little sleep, especially because general admission doesn’t allow access to everything. The body exhibit was awesome, even for two adults.

mec_1988 xrp

Awesome place... Wish I could have taken my 5 year old, but I was in town for work. Very pretty grounds, cool prehistory exhibits, fun science building with interactive activities.

Lisa Larremore

My grandsons loved this museum! My youngest is 3 and he just started learning about dinosaurs through his brother's homeschool program. He just was in awe! My oldest grandson has decided to be an astronaut and he's 5. He loved the Planet room to learn space. He was a bit young for understanding about all of it but loved driving the robotic car, making the parachute fly, and he and his brother got astronaut shirt size costumes with helmets for play around the house.

Marta Pena

We still love learning with the grandkids. And there is always something new and exciting to learn about this place.

אברהם סלומון

Sad, they spent so much time and money on having Dinosaurs and all you get is the main hall. You can see 99% before you buy your tickets.

Sandi Laskowski

No place for a 2 year old. $50.00 for 3 adults to get in. Even after we asked if there was something for a toddler.

msgeminah

Little underwhelming but still a great museum. I guess if you’ve gone to the Smithsonian’s for years all museums would seem underwhelming.

Speed Racer

It's nice but a very small museum compared to other cities

Joel Langton

It's one of my favorite museums and it has dinosaurs!!!

So many different sections! You think you're done, but you find new places to explore. This isn't the witte I went to when I was younger this place has been revamped and is beautiful! Please bring your family and check it out! Be a tourist in your town and find a museum you love to go to!

Absolutely amazing place!! Definitely cold friendly and staff were very nice. If you like dinosaur bones and artifacts from old times you will love this place.

Fun place. Some sections are better for young children than others. However, it was very entertaining for my 3 and 5 year old. Lots of learning about Texas past and present. We even got to see a radio telescope use live to look at a black hole.

Jose Lopez

Great learning, kids enjoyed it. Be prepared to walk!

Shawn Weaver

Great p lm ace to visit. Lots to see.

We loved the Survival Exhibition and the H-E-B Body Adventure - both were extremely interactive and made learning fun. A great adventure with the kids for a hot summer day. Beautiful facilities in a gorgeous setting.

We love the Witte were always here oh and on Tuesdays its free admission.

Anti Hero

Very beautiful place for family and friends . Plenty of stuff to do and a great way for kids to let out energy . Became a Witte Member and can’t wait to go back . As a parent the Survival exhibit was done very well and was very happy to see true survival techniques been taught to the younger generation.

Kids of all ages love it here and it's fun for adults to. There's almost always an extra exhibit to see, the last one was mythic creatures. Cool creatures in tanks, a toddler play area, outdoor tree house, rooftop sound garden. The list goes on.

Carol Smith

It was nice but they removed some of the better sections. Removed some of the Texan history information that is important to our history as a free state

Shawna Sousa

Go on a free day. Nice way to beat the heat for a couple of hours. Beware the kids and crowds.

Nicole Wilson

Loved this place! Whether you're young or older, there's something for everyone here!

Hugo Sapien

It's a fun place for all. A must-see if you live in San Antonio and also a good tourist attraction.
