REVIEWS OF Texas Quilt Museum IN Texas

Ryan Richards

These quilts are more like art than grandma's quilts. Very creative. Very detailed. As the husband of a quilter even I enjoyed it.

Rachel Peacock

Beautiful small-town quilt museum. Changes exhibits every 3 months.

Teresa Duryea Wong

Texas Quilt Museum is a small, yet beautiful museum. It features a wide variety of quilts of all styles and types with exhibits that change every couple of months. The space is a neat showcase for the art of quilting and the museum has done a lot to liven up downtown La Grange. I highly recommend visiting every time you are in the area.

The quilts were stunning! They told us we could get our picture made near our favorite and it took us over an hour and a half to find our favorite. They have a rotating guest section that was fascinating! I love the video of her process of designing kaleidoscope type quilts. If you like quilts and artwork, this is your place!

The Texas Quilt Museum is a true treasure. The displays change every three months, with the goal of balancing exhibits of both traditional and contemporary quilts, so no matter your preference, you will be sure to see something wonderful. Highly recommended!

A lot of fun here, I love quirky roadside museums. They have rotating exhibits here, and it's all about quilts. High quality quilts, of course, and you might be surprised how interested you are in the art. The docents there are always friendly whenever I visit, and they do have some higher-profile quilters featured.

Josh Krzykowski

Debbie Allen

Gary Butschek

Expensive but interesting.

Beverly Gulley

The most wonderful blue and white quilts!

Dawn Bandor

This really feels like visiting a gallery more than a museum, as its wall space is primarily devoted to quilts by one or two modern quilters. The word museum implies a more expansive concept. A frustrating element is that they sell postcards and books of the historic quilts that they are holding but not exhibiting.

Tracy T.

Great history and friendly staff. They change out the quilts every 3 months.

Maia Hunt

Shellie Whitman

Quaint old building. Knowledgeable staff. Worthwhile to visit.

Awesome quilt museum in quaint LaGrange. There is a gift shop and quilting resource library. You may need to make an appointment to use the library.

Frances Pohl

Very very beautiful quilts and display of quilts with the stories behind the quilts made. The 'No Photography' rule is dumb and definitely not followed by me or anyone else, as you can see by others pictures posted. The only reason someone would want to go is for the pictures to show off the beautiful quilts and tell the story behind them. Only museum I have been to that says no photography. I didn't follow the rules because I wanted a useable hard copy memory of my trip w my family. Just outside of the Museum is the "Grandmother's Flower Garden", that is nice to walk through or sit on the bench & just enjoy the beauty around you. Birds and butterflies around with benches and a gazebo to sit at.

Donna Bone

Dianne Gutierrez

Really beautiful Quilts & fabrics.

Sarah Burkhalter

The Quilt Museum is one of a kind and adds an interesting stop in downtown. Quilts are beautifully displayed, both the traveling and the permanent exhibits, with interesting commentary. Museum staff is very knowledgeable and willing to engage visitors.

State of the art museum. They change their quilt exhibits every three months. A nice quilt store is a few doors to the right.

Lana Metheny

don't waste your time. the lady at the front desk is a sweetheart. the lady in the office however is a shrew. visited last week. wallhangings on display do not reflect quilting heritage at all. they are current modern wall hangings. they showcase 4 different artists a year. I didn't even go thru it. If I can't see quilted quilts from a featured QUILTER , forget it. I can see that modern thread painting crap at the international show in houston. I went to see quilts not modern wall ART. or silk painted wall art. what ever it was, I wasn't wasting my time nor money. I went next door to the quilt shop, The Quilted Skein and enjoyed myself.

Sharen

Amazing. Very inspiring to see such beauty.

SunShine Jackson

AMAZING work, hand and machine. LOVELY Curators.

Marilyn Haupt

Fabulous folks

Ramon Santiago

The people there was very helpful, knowledgeable and nice. The place was very clean.

Mary MacAllister

I went to see the modern quilt show. What a beautiful show! I think it is good to see something new in quilting that can inspire us to produce better quilts.
