REVIEWS OF Space Center Houston IN Texas

Kevin Rowell

Great experience! Take the ride to Mission Control & re-live the first moon landing! Amazing! Take your kids and spend the day learning in an interactive environment while having fun. Or go alone like I did and nerd out unapologetically.

Rito Garza

Appreciate the space memorabilia and activities available for people of all ages. It can get a bit crowded throughout the day so be prepared to wait especially for the trams (and the typical Houston humidity makes it challenging). If you're a local, a membership is worth the investment to get priority boarding and shorten the wait for a tram visit. The overall experience is enjoyable and I always leave knowing a bit more with each visit.

Kevin Ballantine

Loved the exhibits! This was an amazing museum and the tour was out of this world. God to see the command center for the moon landing. Wasn't able to see the current command center, and that was the more expensive tour. Either way, the information they provide and what they have to see from missions was pretty cool.

Rocio Diaz de Ovalle

Very interesting place to visit. A lot of information. Not for little kids as the entertainment is not engaging for young ones (toddlers). I definitely recommended it for adults. The most impressive was the space craft and the plane carrier.

Vince Truman

Hit the tram early, otherwise your wait will be over an hour. Lots of fun and interesting exhibits. It kept out kids entertained a LOT longer then we expected.

Robert Brentley

Tons of mini-games that are educational. Plenty of room. Cafeteria on site. Possible to spend a whole day here.

Ben Cordery

An amazing day out with lots to see and do. The tours are fully recommended. There is plenty of food options. It is very interesting to see and fully recommended. It is a whole day so get there early. In February there was not many queues and the temperature was good, I suspect it will get hot in the summer.

David McGroarty

Opening with a pun, it's out of this world

Angela Bunney

Been to Kennedy in Florida this one is lacking in the customer service area. We bought City Passes I would highly recommend them. Just 2 stops and they paid for themselves. I would recommend taking the Tram Tour first! It's 90 minutes doesn't always leave on time and cuts into your day if you plan to do anything else. Don't miss that tour because it is by far an excellent interesting part of the visit. Overall we enjoyed the visit just wish someone was explaining things beforehand.

b4by lungz

super awesome scenery!! just wish they had more interactive things. i went here on a field trip at school almost 10 years ago and they had way more ):

Brooke

There is so much to learn and see! Plan for a whole day. There are many things for kids to experience but I honestly liked going back with just adults and my 13 year old! So amazing!

Michael O'Day

If you are fascinating by space travel this is a must see! Be sure to reserve a free ticket for the Apollo Mission Control team tour when you get there. Guest services will show you how. You get to go inside a real space shuttle!

Tanmoy Som

If you love science ,space & astronomy it’s a must visit. I loved this place. Take a full day for your. Please book ticket in advance to avoid queue. The museum is awesome.

Lisa T

My son loves space center. We recently tried one of the day camps and he had the best time learning about rockets. He cannot wait to go back.

Ghantasala Veerapratap

Awesome place and a must see especially for kids... Staff over here needs a bit of training in managing visiting crowds.. they are all young and a little clueless on how to deal with holiday weekend size crowds.. we were told that the Orion space mission tour had a wait time of 20 to 30 mins and we ended up waiting in line for more than 2 hours for a 30 minute tour and didn't get a chance to see the shows there.. :|

Gabi Balboa

We had a great time here. So much to see and the kids were able to do a few activities. We got a bus ride with a tour guide that stopped at a couple of places. We were able to catch a Miles from Tomorrow Land cartoon regard the Space Station and astronauts. Lots of fun for the kids.

Chris Gillikin

Great time with the family. Went back last month with nieces and nephews and really enjoyed it. Great way to spend the day.

Ty Hudson

Who doesn't love space? Large space center laid out like a college campus. Two hour plus tram tours, many large static displays, large theater, plenty of walk around displays and information for even the most curious and ardent fan. Great gift shop with an annex and you can even meet an astronaut. Leave yourself plenty of time and bring comfortable walking shoes.

Mini PCs

We spent the entire day bobbing round this place. Loved it but take a bit of advice get the team tours done first. One is a timed tour the other runs roughly every 20-30 mins. Also bring some snacks and drinks as food here is on the pricey side. Loads of stuff for the kids to get into and play with make this a real family day out.

Gokul Kalla

Interesting place to take family kids. I've always been a big space buff so this place was must see. I would absolutely recommend taking the free tour around the facility. It's about an hour and a half and you are taken to a few facilities on the campus, the mission control center, the mockup lab for space equipment and finally the coolest place, the Saturn V rocket storage facility. Just magnitude of the rocket's size blew me away.

Michael Creason

With myself being slightly older than NASA, this has always been a "have to see" destination. It did not disappoint. With what seemed like hundreds of displays, a multitude of interactive activities and some amazing presentations in the theatres, it was an awesome experience. We will be returning again, as absorbing everything in one visit is nearly impossible.

Andy Loyd

Absolutely incredible! The Grandson loved it! Most educational. We will take the other grandchildren at the first opportunity!

Christian Walsh

Amazing. Can't believe it's been 50 years since the moon landing! And now the shuttle is retired and the new age is coming. Awesome experience. Bring water if you do the bus tour (which you have to) takes just over an hour. Great day. Won't be the last time.

Emerald Wright

The exhibits in the main hall are informative. There are several theaters. There is also a team ride to the old restored Apollo mission control viewing room. There’s a bit for everyone from children to adults. The simulator and VR experience was also great. The only disappointment was the service at the food area was not good.

Ronnie Rene

Interesting and fun place to visit. Enjoyed the experience and historical significance of houston mission control. The rocket exhibits especially fascinating and awesome

Daniel Sørensen

An absolute must-visit. Took the level 9 VIP tour, and it was absolutely worth the money. Both the guide and the your itself were excellent. By coincidence, we got to meet the Danish astronaut Andreas Mogensen. He gave a talk and answered a few questions.

Eduardo Sanchez

Definitely a place to go and visit. Very informative and a good time. Too many kids just running around and getting in the way when you're trying to read the plaques is the only downside. But nonetheless quite a great way to shave off a few hours in the day. Live science experiments are carried out by the staff so that's good.

Michael Schackwitz

Going to Space Center gives you an interesting peek into the space program. While the exhibits in the main hall are informative, the highlight for us was taking the tram tour around the campus to see where NASA gets work done. We spent 5 hours there and didn't see everything. That said, in the main hall there are a lot of signs to read, and people with less patience or with kids would have gone through it faster. We discovered later that they offer a free app with an audio tour, so we will check that out next time.

Mutant's Dad

A very fine museum about America's space program. It has the most complete set of displays of actual and training space craft in the USA. As far as I know it's the only place one can touch a moon rock. So why did they lose 2 stars? They have the original Galileo Shuttlecraft from Star Trek. It was donated by fans who had restored it to its original form. The Space Center has had a love/hate relationship with this prop. They know it draws in space fans. They know that Trek and NASA have had a partnership for over 50 years. But they take this item off display from time to time or dump in the back corner of the cafeteria.

Beatriz Betancourt

This has been one of a kind experience! I am thinking to come back in December this year with more relatives! That tells you all! Enjoyed everything! We had a tour around and the guide was funny we even saw some space deers! Loved it loved it!

Michael McMahon

No employees directing people inside the facility. We would wait in line for interactive attractions and people would just cut in line! Everything else was nice clean and not to costly!

Alicia Renee

There is so much to do here that you need to reserve a full day to see it all! Activities for adults and children! Everything is interactive so it keeps the kiddos happy. The coolest part is walking through a replica of the living quarters and seeing just how they live up in space. Would recommend eating beforehand because the food was very pricey, but there's vending machines if you need a drink or small snack.

Hedgy Puppy

A must-see for space enthusiasts! The trolley tour during the summer time has multiple different routes, but during late summer, it’s 1 combined tour route. I saw the ISS training control center (will be used for Lunar 2023 and Mars 2035), the Apollo 18 rocket, and the technology/robotic center. 10/10 would recommend!

Alioune Ba

Great place for kids. Adults will not feel time passing too. Very well done: entertaining and educating. There is a Lot to discover, be prepared to walk a lot and It's a full day excursion. Some exibits are outside the main facility and will require using the transport service. There is a lineup too. There is a huge parking lot with charging spots for electric vehicles and It's all free. Recommended.

Neil Miller

Loved the place, worth every penny. There was one drawback, WE visited during school vacay and on a Saturday. Place was crowded, lines waiting to get on tram and back 11/2 hour wait, otherwise, all good. Educational Well set up. Loved the longhorns in the pen, and deer roaming freely. Cafeteria priced reasonable, clean well maintained washrooms. Famous place to take family/relatives visiting Houston. Blessings and much love

Fajar Maulana

Very cool place. Able to seeing the space rocket and all space related gadget that the NASA used to explore the place. If you visit Houston for the first time, this place is A MUST TO DO list. The space center also have food court inside it, and it have plenty of food variation, so don't worry about starving while exploring the space center. It will takes 3-5 hours to explore the whole space center, there will be a buggy car to bring you to the mission control or the rocket area. One of the disadvantages will be the transportation to go to this place, it can only be reach by cars, Taxi, or uber. Public transportation like bus or train is not available in this area.

Lalith Dharmesh Kethareswaran

We were walking back to the parking(there is plenty) after spending the whole day at the space center. The kids wanted to come back again. It was that inspiring. If you are in the neighborhood of houston, a membership is worth it.

Doug Cosenzo

Johnson Space Center When we got there, we got to see the Shuttle piggybacked onto the 747. That was a first for me. We went to the Mission Control Center tour but the next available time was 1:30. They gave us tickets to reserve the space so we also took the Mission Orion tour while we waited. Saw the original Mission Control set up and the original moon landing footage. There were some outside similarities but the tours were great. Also we got to see the full size Saturn 5 rocket. Sweet! With some time between tours, we enjoyed a full sized pizza and drinks. Then after the tours and visiting the center, we took some time to go to the gift shop.

Short and Sweet

Was trying to go into the facility but it seemed closed before closing hrs.

Melissa Hamoudi

Amazing, it was far better than I had expected! Take the tram tour, you will not be disappointed. The simulator and VR experience was also great. Really good value for money. The only disappointment was the service at the food area was not good and our food was cold.

Marco Wirjadi

The ace of Houston city. 40 minutes drive from downtown. Arrive early in the morning and directly go for the tram tour for effective time spending.

James Simpson

Very cool to see the amazing scientific and engineering accomplishments to put people into space. Its astounding to see the shear size of the rockets and the shear tiny space astronauts have to exist in while in space!

J Bird

Awesome. If you can get season passes it is more than worth it to bypass the lines. It was crowded but that's expected. It's great to go back in time and see some of the pivotal moments in the space program and human history. I highly recommend going on the TRAM tours to mission control and the astronaut training. The tour guides our informative and friendly. The pizza was 20 dollars but it was good and adequately fed 4 adults.

R2ro Narumi

A good place for every space or astronauts fans, it's very educative and has many attractions & games to make it fun for the kids, unfortunately it's not a cheap trip and some of the games need maintenance, some.of them are broken or half operative only. The souvenir store is pretty neat!

Aderemi M

Love it but the queue to tour the facilities was just horrible! We were on the queue for 1 hour 50 mins. Guess it's best to go very early in the day.

Carlos Ramirez

Went here for the 50 year celebration of the first lunar landing. Generally speaking the organization was great and the value which included tram tours and the concert was well worth it. This a cool and informative place to visit in Houston. The attendance was a little light in my opinion, maybe better promotion in the future. The food and beverage situation was difficult with only one food truck and the normal food court inside which led to super long lines for attendees. The next issue was the amount of space reserved for VIP which led to a large gap in the concert audience. Other than those two things the experience was awesome and we thoroughly enjoyed our time at this historic celebration. The lighted wristbands were cool. It seemed like they were synced by the sound and pulse of the music or something. Cool. Will post a video of what I mean.

Barry Horsley

My family want because I made them, but they ended up having a blast! Definitely a must do!

Jean-Francois Poirier

Really like the fact we could visit the site in and out. The reason of the 4 stars instead of 5 is that it would be nice to have a synopsis of the short feature films to be able to pick which one to listen to and have a board showing the airtime from the main lobby, not only the cinema lounge. Apart from that, great tour and displays.

Swati Puniani

It has a combination of museum and field visit, do not miss reserving you seat for the field visit tramp ride as that will actually make the entire visit worth while. The have a few slots and as per my knowledge the regular last slot is at 3pm. There are good games for young ones related to different physics laws and other such setups mimicking the space experience. Display of various parts of a spaceship and documentaries on past and present expeditions is also there. Kids will have a great time inside the museum.

DefinitiveJoker

More than you expect, really enjoyed my visit! Thoroughly recommend going for an informative and fun filled day.

Glide

It's great and all. But how can anyone enjoy anything when it's so packed. All the lines for the major exhibits are 1 to 3 hr wait time. I would recommend coming here real early and check the google live feed on how busy it is here.

Paul Muri

Has much improved over the last 10 years. Exhibit are always changing. Enjoying the speaker series on weekday night. Wish they would add a young professional membership program like the zoo, science museum, fine arts, etc. the starlight socials are terribly organized right now. Went to 3 starlight social are really bad compared to other museum socials.

Liviu M

Awesome and really amazing achievements by man kind. I never could've imagined how complex and technologically deep, this industry has gone. When you add to that the place in time when those first took place, it brings you to realize the dept of human intelligence. God's creation really is amazingly beyond my imagination and perhaps most everyone else

Junior Rimac

This place is just wonderful. It not only has copies of the rockets or command control center but also the real ones. You learn a lot when it comes to moon travel and different attempts to go to the space as well as how the rockets have evolved since 1960's.

Bernie W

One of our favorite places. Great to see the latest technology and history of how the space program has evolved. We were lucky to see the newest control room.

Frankie J

I give Space Center Houston located at 1601 E NASA Pkwy, Houston, TX 77058 FIVE STARS. Was my first time visiting this marvelous Space center. This place is full of so much history. Make sure you come early because you have So much to do and see. 5️⃣ ⭐

Chris Jenkins

Awesome place! We've been several times and still haven't seen everything. You really have to plan if you want to see everything. There are special tours at specific times the require additional tickets once you get in. These are a little hard to find. Each time we have been the free tours have been to different places.

Loys Turner

The company I work for "BRIGHT LIGHTS " is doing the lights for the Cosmo lights ..... I love it because they have the real stuff they used there.... I would recommend this as an educational or family trip.....

Kellye Sanders

Neat place to learn about space travel and history of the various missions. Also informative for goals and the future of NASA. Really neat to take the tours. Mission Control was amazing.

Sebas Rivera

We've come here three times in three years and have discovered something new each time. The center takes the time to update some exhibits and the tours. Staff is knowledgeable and happy to talk space.

J Furman

Please urge other patrons to visit during weekdays. I'll be sure to follow my own advice in the future. This museum isn't simply about making money, it seems to care about preserving American culture and scientific innovation before turning-a-buck. Much like the Smithsonian air and space museum but is also home to an active operations area. Well worth the visit. The kids truly enjoyed it.

Claire Bingham

So cool! We spent hours here and could have spent more! The tours were great. Was so cool seeing so much history in person, as well as some of what NASA is doing now. The facility was great for kids and adults alike.

Kevin

I’m writing this review at the same time as I’m writing one for the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum in Washington, DC so I guess that reflects the fact I’m predisposed to be interested in this! As a casual space nerd, this was a fascinating place to visit. There an original Saturn V rocket, and two trolly tours to see the control room and other training facilities. If the lines aren’t prohibitive I’d definitely recommend both. We went in late October/early November and the lines were fine. This is not an inexpensive trip for a family, so I’d caution you to bring age appropriate kids. Even if you just see the artifacts and do the tours it’s well worth the cost in my opinion.

Amol Khairnar

Astraunot training center ride was great experience. They have a lot of booths where you learn a lot of amazing things on Apollo missions. Samples of moon crust, cosmic rocks were amazing. Photo booth with moving objects was nice.

Kathleen Collins

Love this place! I purchased the family plan as you cannot see it all in one visit. Great for children and adults. Have been twice and going again. Members get great perks.

Adam Naj

Fun place! Great for space and sci-fi enthusiasts. Highly recommend the tram tour of NASA Johnson Space Center, with the visit to Mission Control, ISS module assembly building, and the rocket park.

Gary Pugh

This is a must see, .. experience if you're visiting Houston or if you have lived here your whole life! The history of human space exploration laid out not just in video and pictures, .. but also in many historic items and truly appreciate ... Houston we have Zno problem!!

Asha Shipman

The space shuttle mock up on the Boeing outside the building sets the stage for an awesome adventure into the past, present and future of the US space industry. Mid week is less busy but so is Sunday morning. The Apollo era Mission control tour is wonderful.

Carmen Whisenhunt

Must see no matter what age. It's educational, exciting and so much fun. $5 to park. $30 entrance (for an adult). Take the time out cuz they have exhibits, shows, meet n' greets, tram rides, and a bunch of stuff to wonder around looking at. It really is a great place.

John Rhea

This place is amazing. Very informative and a good time. The Apollo era Mission control tour is wonderful.Tours run regularly with short queues. The staff is great and is well trained. You will enjoy this place and learn a lot in the process.

Chris Lambeth

Feed your inner geek! This is a large facility with plenty to do for the whole family. From small learning exercises for children to examples of technology used for space exploration and study, all the way to multiple tours of real, production NASA facilities and equipment. This place is GREAT! It also doesn't hurt that the staff is always smiling and helpful.

Matthew Quinton

My first time here and it was a blast (no pun intended)! I got to see the refurbished Apollo Mission Control, a mock up of the space shuttle, and the actual 747 that transported it. There's a ton of stuff to do, and you really do need more than one day to do it justice. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, too! Special thanks to Mike and Kevin at the trams for giving me an amazing day! I'll be back with the fam for sure!

Patrick Bewley

Our family had an absolutely great time! This is a great museum and so much fun learning about the Space program. A couple of the interactive exhibits were not working, which was disappointing, but the Tram tour of Mission Control (included in the price, make your reservation early) and touring the Independence Space Shuttle was definitely the highlight.

Dani Peleva

A great day out! An experience that I’ve always been dreaming off. I loved every bit! The center is full of interesting information and very well-organized. There’s a bit for everyone from children to adults. The staff is helpful to guide you around and answer all questions. If you’re in a rush there’s still a lot to see, as well as for people that can spend a whole day in. The guides are thorough and funny and the guided tours reveal some of the secrets of this special place. Children can have a lot of fun too, as well as shopping maniacs that can buy merchandise and souvenirs from the shops. An experience highly recommended if you’re in town!

Jeffrey Harwell

From touching a moon rock to seeing actual Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo reentry vehicles, this is a unique experience. The Mercury suborbital launch vehicles almost look like toys, while the Saturn V rocket is mind-blowing. To top it all off, you can go inside the Independence space shuttle. It's shocking how primitive the electronics appear, today!

Phil Uhl

Great to see so much history. The Saturn V was awesome and definitely the highlight. Gift shop prices were insulting.

G B

If your interested in "Space" this place will blow your mind. Each direction you turn / go will amaze you. Walking out after hrs of "Space Exploration" you realize how far we as a civilization have come. Well worth going to. 10 stars.

Anna Boyd

Great museum. In terms of interactive stations, it’s a little short. If it is hot outside you may or may not want to do the walking around to see the rockets. Even the tram is hot to ride in. You may be used to the heat, I am not. Great history to see here.

1987Rambo

Let‘s put it like this: it‘s a cool place overall. I have been in the space center in Cape Caneveral Florida before, which I liked more and their organization was clearly better. We had to wait for a free tram tour for 3/4 hours even though the tram was loaded and another tram stood ready for more guests. That was really disappointing.

George Clark

Always fun and educational. Now that we have celebrated the 50th anniversary of the 1st moon landing, there is continued interest in the further plans that NASA has for Moon and Mars exploration. Also, must take tram tour. Control room viewing and the Saturn V rocket system displayed.

Mark Kidder

Great way to spend a day. Good for both kids and adults. Rather expensive though, but worth it. Plan on the better part of the day.

Demental One

Wonderful exhibit to go through. If you are like me though you will need a couple trips through, or a FULL day, to see everything. We like to look and read everything there. In around 4 hours we saw maybe a quarter to a third of the stuff, and that wasnt even reading everything as we normally do. It was an amazing and enlightening experience which we all enjoyed. We will most definitely return!

Amanda Gray

Came with my husband and teenage daughters. Everyone had a great time! This place is fun for the whole family! Be sure to take the tram tour even if there is a long line. It's certainly worth the wait!

Mahealani C.

A great place to visit! Educational, interactive and fun. Plan on spending a day here just to walk through, read and experience all the freebies they offer. They have 2 gift shops; 1 huge and 1 small. Their food court is decent or there are restaurant options 10 minutes away.

Susan Westcott

We visited on our way to the airport. We enjoyed looking at the exhibits. However we were disappointed not to be able to get on the Historical Mission Control tour even though there were spaces on the trolley bus. We didn't have time to wait an hour and spend another hour on the tour. We didn't feel that the assistant was sympathetic or helpful which was a shame. We enjoyed the shuttle experience.

CKK

What an amazing place to visit and learn so much about space travel and life on the Space Station! We had a wonderful time and everyone was so polite and helpful!

Stewart Smith

This place is amazing. Arrived early and saw a lot in 6 hours. The trams were not crowded, as previous posters had stated, maybe the overcast weather and threat of rain kept most away. The tour operators were speaking English but heavily accented to the point they might as well been speaking Greek. The admission price was fair and well worth the money, highly recommended.

Anne Johnson

We loved our visit! Amazing pieces of American history on display. Highlights included boarding the space shuttle Independence and the plane that carried her. My kids loved touching both a moon rock and a rock from Mars. Nice displays and hands in activities.

Dice Roller

Great for the "Astronaut" in you! Tons of exhibits with daily schedule for "Ask the Astronaut "; several times a day. Plentiful parking, and a " Kodak Moment " as you pull in, as well as after you park your vehicle. Food prices are a bit high, however, within normal tolerances as compared with other themed attractions.

danianjan

Amazing selection of artifacts and photos. Also loved the simulated jet aircraft flight and meeting with the first female astronaut. Probably the best part was touching a rock from the moon. However the information is too technical for most visitors. It would have been helpful if the information were written in more layman's language.

Cindy Blue

Amazing place! Well worth taking the time to spend half the day and take in all of the information and activities. It's easy to find and to get around. There are two tram tours of about 45 minutes, a 15 minutes movie and plenty of other things to see.

Rashele Shoun

Pretty cool place to check out. There were way too many people inside but it was cool anyhow. I liked the outside plans the most. I'd go when there are less people if I have the option.

Alex C.

Amazing!!! Never been and it was really cool to learn about space. They gave interactive games you can play. You can learn about how life is like on the international space station and what they do up there. You can learn about the history of spaceflight. You can go I to a mock up 747 and shuttle craft, which is just amazing in its self. They have a gift shop and also a shuttle to take you to see another rocket that is housed in a warehouse. Really had a good time here. Little bit of advice, get there early.

S Moi

Definitely worth the effort to attend if in the Houston area. Something for everyone. Great place for the family. Definitely a once in a lifetime experience.

Anvesh Uppunuthula

Amazing historical museum depicting the greatness of American space race and the human kind as a whole. Great place to learn a lot about space, rockets, & satellites. Knowledgeable guides and places. I think that it takes atleast 3 to 4 hours to cover this places in detail. So plan your trip to space center accordingly.

One of Houston’s highlights. If you’re going to Houston you have to visit the space center. And yes it’s definitely worth it. There’s so much to see you have to stay there a couple of hours if you really want to see everything.

Jazzy Rodgers

The NASA space center is very educational we went on a family getaway trip to Houston and my kids loved it , I definitely like shopping at the space center!l. Great Time!

Jason Gutierrez

Kids love it. Very informative if you're into space exploration

Miscellaneous Muzik

Space Center Houston was a very interesting place to visit, with tons of information. A proper visit would probably take the whole day, with everything to see and do. This place is an amazing museum, displaying all the greatness that NASA has to offer. If you're ever in Houston, you owe it to yourself to visit this important piece of history.

Dazy Behm

Other than a lot of the younger children's interactive area being out of order, we were very happy with our visit. Lots to do and see. Saturn V was amazing and awesome to behold. Such history! Definitely take the time for the tram to Rocket park. Food was very good in the cafe also, and of a great variety. We will definitely go back again.

Gerard Vertucci

A LOT more fun than I thought it would be! I highly recommend taking the tram tours (they last about an hour) as they take you around the facility and the tour guide gives you some fun facts as well as explaining everything you're seeing. The main center is also loaded with amazing things to touch and see! Definitely worth the trip here!

Eric Jessen

Oh my God! This place was awesome! I could easily have spent another whole day here! If you're in Houston, this is a must see attraction!

Kelly Olson

Such a cold place to visit the space center. The displays were awesome and very accessible as well as interactive! This adult NERD had a blast and I can’t wIt till my grandson is old enough to go!

Les C. Cseh

Fantastic. Great up close displays. Tip .. if you take the tram, sit towards the back so the guide/speaker is not drowned out by the engine. Another tip.. check the space center website for hours .. google had it wrong and many of us were sweltering for an hour waiting for it to open.

Evalyne Evermore

Loved being here there were so much to see and do here. Some of the attractions cost extra but they did not take away from the overall atmosphere. Came early and stayed late. Got crowded later in the day but to be expected. I will revisit in future when children get older.

Stephen Chow

not as big as I thought it would be. The exhibits are good. Good for children. The tram ride is nothing special. If you do take it use the further back carts as the engine from the lead car makes it hard to hear the tour guide

Daniel Zubarev

It's been good to go there. I was expecting a little more, though out of the museum itself. I wish the museum had more hands on stuff for kids. The best of all we're the tours to the Johnson's Space Center itself.

Troy McMahon

Space Center Houston is amazing. This is a not miss stop while you are in Houston. Make sure you give yourself a full day or you will miss out on half of what they have going on. It is definitely worth waiting in line for the tram over to the control room and to see the Rockets. I live in Houston I have gone three times when family comes to town and I still see things that I didn't see the first couple of trips.

Prabhasa Kalkur

Great experience, lots of fun. A proper visit would probably take the whole day. There's the main building, and the two Tram tours. Would recommend getting in line to the tours as early as possible. At peak time there's about an hour's waiting, so factor that into your plan. Outside food is allowed, but there's always the big food court if you need anything.

Big Mitt

A really great experience for the entire family and I think reasonably priced. I only gave 4 stars since I think the tram rides could be much better organized. It is not fun to stand in 102 heat and wait 40 Minutes to get on a tram I understand that you can get on the trams quicker if you purchase a more expensive ticket but not every family can afford that.. They could easily extend the facility and have you wait in an air conditioned building as the trams load and unload. Other than that it was a great experience.

It was a really cool place. Definitely fun for both kids and adults. Could use a better ventilation system though. No reason to be sweating while inside. I only tried the VR "ride" and that was awesome! If you're in town, this is a must.

Jarod Bell

There are so many great, interactive exhibits for kids. There was a good mix of interesting things for adults too. I drove down from fort Worth and it was well worth the trip!! I'll be back again.

I was here a few years ago, and I loved it then. I couldn't believe how antiquated the equipment was in Mission Control. It sure has changed! But a change I did not like was a change in how the tours work. I have to stand in 3 separate lines to get everything done. Because of the lines I spent more time in line than I did on tours and exploring.

This is an important piece of Human history. Live visiting here, prices a little high but totally worth it to support preserving this important piece of our history. This is also a big part of our future because if it's inspiring future generations to go to space.

Nice place to visit with your kids :) One of the best places to visit around Houston area and it is open 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. If you buy "Official Houston CityPASS" then the rates will be lower and you don't have to wait in a queue. Other than two shuttle rides all the others are free. The best part is the campus ride. There are two types of rides, one is 30min and the other one is 90min. Better if you can go for 90min because that tour will cover most of the areas on the campus.

Given that Space Center Houston is run by a non-profit it doesn't feel that way when you pay more than $100 for two adults and two children. Oh, and the Tram is extra, go get in line again and pay some more for that too. They had a sign at the entrance that parking was $5 but no one was there to collect money so maybe they've decided that they've squeezed everyone enough? We did enjoy actually seeing moon dust on a space suit though. We live in the area and have been here twice now in the last ten years or so and each time we feel like we paid way too much for what it is.

fun experience but a bit disappointing at some of the broken activities/ displays. also thought there would be more to see there. wish there was another floor and more information available. the mission control room was a plus and really cool to see. wish there were more functional interactive activities

prashant lokhande

It's wonderful ... Really amazing place to get explore your knowledge. History of Nasa. How mission get controlled from control room. Astronaut training centre. How they live in space.. Everything Is more than expected. Love it

LINE!! Everywhere every place has to wait for line. Don’t go especially on weekends. Another thing, the management has to check every guests has membership ticket or not. Cause everybody even who don’t have membership waiting on the VIP lines and nobody check. But good think, a lot of place to see, good effort for the museum if you will have enough time to see it because you are waiting on damn lines

Steven O'Connell

Great attraction, must-see if you visit Houston. Tour is a long wait but I highly recommend it, it's worth the wait. You'll see everything there is on the tour.

Matt

The biggest issue is the efficiency in which its run. Trams for the tours are ridiculously slow and zero organization while operating. Employees could honestly care less about whats going on. Obviously government run facility but it needs a serious upgrade. Otherwise, a cool place to visit.

Dana MacKenzie

Must see in Houston. Day was warm and crowds were low. So made for a great visit! Do the tram ride first. Lots to see and do.

Gobinathan G

Great learning experience for kids . Family can spend 3-4 hours in the space center. There are always some activities, live demos for kids .The tram tour will consume most of your time. There are three different tours . And we were advised to take astronaut training tour which is worth making it for those who visit with young kits. The food court has got variety of options to choose.

Brandi Dickinson

The tours are definitely worth the wait if you're wanting to go on them. If it rains and there is lightning nearby they will have to cut the tour short for the safety of the group, so plan accordingly! There's always tons of fun and interactive things to do here!

Wonderful place to visit with friends and family. So much to learn and see. There are several theaters with ample seating to review details on the space program. A large eating area if you get hungry. There are two tram rides to visit the working mission control areas of NASA. One of the trams takes you on a tour of rocket park for a visit to an Apollo rocket and to a working area of mission control. There is some walking and stair climbing involved, elevators are available but limited. There is also a team ride to the old restored Apollo mission control viewing room. This was spectacular to see how it was back in the late 1960s. The staff is helpful and friendly, be prepared for lots of walking, reading and learning. There is also a very well stocked gift shop. Enjoy your visit, we certainly did.

Very nice, informative place, one can enjoy the experience of space, moon , mars and other celestial bodies. It is very amazing learn about how do they operate the space exploring missions. Also one can learn about astronaut, how do they live in space, and about meteor and meteoroids. Rocket technology is amazing in the time were info/tech was not developed enough, how they were able to launch rocket and space ships and were able to conquer about space, Amazing

Rajiv Saran

Very well arranged and educative exhibits. Shows are great and if you are lucky you can meet an astronaut and listen from them about their experiences. We got to see one of the rockets Saturn V with all the F1 engines. Seeing them in real and from this close provides a very different perspective of things than to watch these on a tv or other screen. If you are in the area, I would strongly suggest to visit this place, you will not be disappointed for sure.

Space mystories unfolded. Super place for children and adult alike. Best part is the gigantic commercial aircraft and the space shuttle mounted over it and the actual story behind it.

lmwold

Historically significant place. Not cheap. The main room is designed for kids with lost of interactive science stuff, can be pretty darn crowded and noisy. The Space shuttle exhibit is great and educational. The Saturn Rocket exhibit is worth the price of admission alone to appreciate the sure magnitude. Cafe is expensive as all heck. Downside was that you have to take the shuttle bus to the Saturn V exhibit and the Mission Control exhibits...the day we were there lightning was threatening to strike and they had to cancel all the shuttles - inconvenient. Gift shop was great. Glad we went. Ideally, try to plan a day when there are not too many school groups there. Go early. I think parking was $5 or $10, but there was plenty of parking.

Junaid Channa

It’s a good place to visit but not a great place. There are other places to visit in America that are stunning... like the flight museum in Seattle etc. I wish this place had a planetarium and a science museum rolled into one... but not... just empty painted tubes. I was expecting so much more. Ces la vie!

Carla Perdomo

Amazing experience and it was worthy, the space shuttle that they have in the exhibition it’s extremely awesome, going inside and experience what real astronauts have expressed it was amazing. Love it

Sarah Rickert

Plan a whole day to check out all the Space Center has to offer. So neat to see a Saturn V Rocket up close. Decent food selection in the cafe. Stadium prices, but better than some. Bring your water bottle to fill so you stay hydrated not everything is in one building. Tram rides take you outside. Love all the updates from when we visited (9) years ago.

Denver Burns

Must do this while in Houston! Great day out. Touch Moon Rocks and Mars Rocks. Definitely do the Apollo Mission control Tram Tour and the General Tram Tour.

Connie Boncher

Very interesting museum, displays, and tours. There are 3 different tours-it would be nice if you could take the shuttle once to get to see each place instead of having to take a shuttle 3 times.

Daisy Pardo

Very interesting to be able to see them working at the same time of our tour. Coming on a working Monday was a good call. Well controlled traffic. The tour tramp leader was a lot of fun and extremely knowledgeable. The game area for the kids can use some mods to cater to the younger audience like a jungle gym to get their energy out. The gift shop has a ton of choices from books to shirts hats and mugs. Random science like toys and neat astronaut pens. They sell ladies NASA crop tops! Well done

nicholas robertson

The space center itself is great! Tons to do, see, learn about, etc. The organization of their tram system is a huge disappointment. It has several staging area where you have to get off one to get on the next, so this creates a couple lines and waiting if you are trying to get from point A to C as you have to get off at B and then wait I'm line again. I'm guessing their is some rationale as to why their first tram doesn't have two separate lines, one going to point C and one going to point D with a drop-off and pick-up at point B, or just a loop that keeps going., so that way you can just ride the tram to any stop without getting off. They also wait until the tram is completely full and try to fill every seat, trying to convince families to separate.... This adds 5 to 10 minutes for the loading for a 1 to 2 min tram ride..... Just load until everyone available is on, don't squish, and get the thing moving, as it takes a lot less time to get moving quickly and get back than to spend so much time making sure every seat is full. Lastly, it's almost 100 degrees in Houston with almost 100 percent humidity... Please add water stations for the safety of guests and please get your vending machines fixed so people can at least purchase bottles of water while they wait 30 min to an hour in the heat for a tram (once again, the trams just sit at each station for a long time before moving, not sure why... Took us almost 1.5 hours from the time we got in the first tram to our destination ). This is NASA, where some of our most brilliant minds work and a showcase to many foreign visitors to our country. With that said, the basic convinces and processes need greatly improved. Still, fun place, but I won't come back for a while.

This an amazing center with great staff, interactive exhibits, a large (expected) STEM focus. There is a lot to do and see. Their Apollo mission control remodel / tour is a must and is included with general admission. Go early and get a free ticket once inside at the automated kiosk near guest services. 1 of only 8 places in the world where you can touch a moon rock.

Zuly Nelson

Amazing!!!!! A must when in Houston. You get to walk inside the space shuttle and that alone is worth the trip. They took us on a tour of the buildings and explain how the astronauts train. It's pretty incredible!!!
