This Museum is classified in the category of National museum.
Belt buckles! Conspicuous lack of mention of the faith of these women. If you know museum presentations, this one is lacking.
It was awesome! I luved Cathy Smith's horse exhibit! She's amazing amazing!
Nice museum with a nice story, it taked u to the past to live the same feelings of the women that had been fighting for them rights at that time and to have the right to be a cowgirl and wear pantaloons and not skirts
Such interesting history! Even better I was able to take my toddler without an issue, unlike most museums. Lots of women empowerment stuff. Beautiful details throughout. Definitely worth the visit.
excellent exhibit honoring the American Cowgirl.
The museum is undergoing renovations so only the downstairs exhibits are open... Which are all AMAZING. The entry fee for adults is $5 and definitely worth it. The installations are now accompanied with holographic projections, each telling a different quip or story. Definitely a fun place to explore!
Always fun & informative
A must see! Love Texas!
An amazing, meaningful experience with wonderful insight into the influences on a culture that shaped America.
Great museum; however, only the 1st floor is currently open. The 2nd floor is closed until this time next year for renovations.
Very interesting
This museum has a great theme and tries hard but there are limited displays and few actual cowgirl memorabilia. I would suggest they acquire a LOT more old ranching gear, outfits, saddles, boots, etc so there is more to look at. Quite a great idea, disappointing how limited the collection is. For the only COWGIRL exhibit, we need more cowgirl gear from all time periods.
Esta genial este museo !!
Very neat place
Such a treasure. The wonder women costume from the latest movie is awesone!!
Matt “Gamer” Watson and his father Dale “The Rock” Watson would approve, very epic
Love this place! Definitely visit!
Not much to see
Amazing place to take the kids!
Awesome place even for kids
(Translated by Google) Nice museum about cowgirls their story and known equestrians (Original) Nettes Museum über Cowgirls ihre Geschichte und bekannte Reiterinnen
History baby history. Must see
Wonderful exhibits that promote "girl power". "You go girl" takes on new meaning to describe the contributions women have made in the West. Kid-friendly but meaningful to grown ups as well.
I haven't visited this museum in quite a few years. A friend and I visited on the first Sunday after the recent remodel. This place is so very interesting, and the live movie mural of the horses upstairs is breathtaking. It's like you could reach out and touch them. The vistas alternate, and the weather / time of day changes. It surrounds you. There is also a small horse statute with saddle so young ones can practice getting up and down from a horse. We enjoyed being whooping it up on the bucking bronco. It sent a short video to our email. There's also a photo booth where you can choose to have photo taken with Annie Oakley or other Western scenes. All in all we spent over three hours enjoying the Cowgirl Museum. Check out the real Wonder Women costume, and read up on the horse expert that worked on the film. Cheers or should I say Yee Haw
Top floor was closed, but my girls still ask every other day if we can go back.
Fun for kids and interesting for everyone who likes history.
Awesome place
An amazing Museum to bring your kids
Very inspirational! Wonderful collection of artifacts that exhibit the historical struggle of women in the West to contribute and participate in the daily hardships of establishing themselves in the communities of Texas. Their story is one that everyone should experience through visiting this Museum.
Love taking pictures in the booth. And the walls up stairs are my favorite!!
Great visit with the family!
Seems to be a large events hall surrounded by some exhibits. Those with an interest in cowgirl culture will find it dull with lots of wasted space.
Went to the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame with a really good friend of mine. We had a great time.
Unfortunately the 2nd floor is under renovation
So cool! Exhibits are well curated, and the photo booth is really fun!
A great experience! My kids especially loved the historic photo booth!
Cowgirl from birth and still one at heart. Love this history of this museum. From Annie Oakley to current day cowgirls. A must see for any girl, or boy.
A beautiful installation if you like metal, lucite, and electronics. Several years ago we went and loved all the artifacts on display. We were so impressed with how many pieces the collection offered. Last week we took two guests from out of state. Most of the collection is now accessible from electronic portals. Seeing a tiny photo of a pair of boots isn't the same as seeing the boots. To even see them you first have to know which lady you're interested in, find her on a video screen, CLICK, see the numbered options at the bottom of the little screen and CLICK until you see something interesting. A beautiful generic place that could be anywhere in the world once you walk inside. Except for the video walls of horses running in pasture (nothing about cowgirls...) it could easily be converted to any purpose - just change the video. The main displays upstairs are on five white tables. Our guests were polite and very disappointed.
An extremely well kept and clean museum; very interesting and inspiring too.
What a cool museum! If you find yourself here, visit!
Much better than expected! Informative and we'll organized.
We had a great time, here. I really enjoyed the interaction with the exhibits.
Cool place
I love going to this museum. The permanent collection is lovely and always nice to look at. The traveling collections are always awesome. The museum has programs/activities available during the summer for kids and adults. The best part about the museum is that it is free to the community to experience all types of art and subjects
Loved it. Amazing gift shop!!!! Liese
This is such a wonderful museum to take in.
Love it
Really, really cool to be able to take my daughter (she's 3) and two sons (they're 2 and 11) here and show her/them all the brave cowgirls! Lots of really fantastic artifacts, clothing, sterling and turquoise jewelry and possibly the most beautiful custom saddle I've ever seen! Nice mix of historical highlights explained and delivered in a way (holograms of Annie Oakley acting out significant historical events, throughout the exhibits) that even my PICKY "know it all" 11 year old was impressed! And that's saying something... The curator of this museum obviously has put in a great deal of time and effort into making sure that what could be seen as a very dry and lackluster page in our history books isn't!! In fact, it's quite the opposite! Make sure to stop on your way out and take your spooky, old timey black and white picture of you and your family alongside a shotgun toting, Annie Oakley as she poses for a picture with you before fading off into the dusty wild wild west... Oh and it's entirely FREE, or at least it was during the FWSS&R!
It just talks about clothing that they wore
Starts off with boy cowboy stuff, but then leads you into the women. It was interesting and had good interactive activities but some areas neat those activities would get really loud making it difficult to hear the exhibits.
Great view of American history and right here in beautiful Fort Worth
Building from outside is nice.
Great knowledge staff and curators.
Was a wonderful educational experience.
Very unique!
It cost $16.00 but it was worth it.
Worth a trip
Fun time
This is a must see for every cowgirl or cowgirl at heart! Lots to see and do with fun interactive activities. Takes about 3 hours to see it all. And the gift shop is excellent!
Though it is not meant for young children, it has some fun interactive displays and a wonderful gift shop. The staff is also very kind.
Excellent
Summary (4/5): a somewhat small, but beautifully designed museum that offers a comparatively small selection of items complemented well with technology. For $12 per adult , the cowgirl museum cannot compete with enormous museums that have multiple exbibits and a hoard of historical artifacts. Yet, the pieces that they do have are well complemented by digital imagery and mini hologram videos. It provides a good overview of the contributions and accomplishments of various cowgirls and the addition of a free photo booth and mechanical bronco is a pleasant surprise. However, the narratives of various cowgirls are not as cohesive as I'd like, and the fact that parking is a flat $10 makes it value diminish.
Very beautiful Museum. Great exhibits on Annie Oakley and the Wild West shows. The upstairs has lots of saddle and tack on display from movies, tv, olympians, jockeys, etc. As an equestrian, I had a really great time and would love to go back and spend more time there.
Updated museum is beautifully done. Holographic stories make history come to life. Interactive displays make the visit even more fun. Well worth the trip.
IF YOU HAVE NEVER GONE GO.....TAKE THE FAMILY ON A DATE NIGHT
As a female, I really inspired by the spirit from the cowgirls and their stories. Whatever you are doing, stand straight and tall!!!
My sons and I took my wife to see this museum today. AMAZING!!! WILD WEST MEETS HARRY POTTER High tech LED displays, modern art and historical artifacts. Companies like " Displays Unlimited " played a large role in prepping this must see I you want a glimpse into women of the west... come check out these cowgirls
Very educational, modern, staff was very knowledgeable
Went there before the rodeo. Great exhibits.
Wonderful new exhibits. Technology integration was very user friendly and allowed for a far more enjoyable experience.
Took my nieces here and enjoyed the gift shop and all the historic finds! We had so much fun and it truly was a girl powered experience! If you are visiting and want to dog into Fort Worth culture this is a must stop!
Inspiring museum with the best media I've seen. Take advantage of the museum made photo opportunities. There are other terrific museums in the complex.
lots of good information in a beautiful museum about the cowgirls in the wild wild west showtime era. Have to be a horse lover to fully appreciate it
An incredible museum. A must see for everyone.
Beautiful place, very modern.
I'm a wanna be cowgirl. It was very exciting to see history on my cowgirl heroes.
Not much there. The entire upper level was closed
Hey what can be bad about this?
Nostalgique évocation d'un âge d'or vu à travers l'histoire des cow girls. Pas indispensable, mais sympathique et bien fait. Accueil amical.
If you're a visitor to Fort Worth, Texas or a resident of the city, take some time and enjoy The National Cowgirl Museum. It showcases the cowgirls of yesterday and today and it's a story that needs and deserves to be heard by everyone.
Awesome experience
We have learned a lot about cowgirls
Amazing and educational
Interesting exhibits, especially the Native American aspect.
Didn’t know what to expect here. The building itself is beautiful outside and the inside is just as well done. Beautiful! The museum is very informative and we enjoyed learning about cowgirls and their contributions and their experiences. The museum is very well laid out and the exhibits are fantastic . You get to hear and see things about cowgirls and the horses. This is a 5 star place that you need to see.
Wonderful experience! Interactive exhibits. The video walls surrounding the exhibits is amazing. My wife fell in love with the museum the moment we walked in the door.
Super fun place for this Yankee to visit!!!
A lot of cool stuff worth seeing
Love the scene great history to learn
Enjoyed the exhibits and history. Friendly staff.
The architecture of this museum is wonderful and some of the exhibits are just breath taking. There are many wonderful artifacts, but I would have liked to see more history into the women that opened the sport for future generations.
It was great history
I love going through the museum and it's also a great place to host special events!
We had an awesome tour guide. I think her name was Tad. She is a real cowgirl.
The Cowgirl Museum was fantastic. Really beautifully designed & everything displayed; art, special exhibits (boots & cowgirl hats) & special mentions we're outstanding. As a previous horseowner I appreciated the wall of video horse scenes very real & personal. So impressive & gift shop was fun & awesome. The artist with special gallery in the museum & photographes & paintings on the walls & stairways we're exquisite. Loved it all!!
Great exhibits!
.A very interactive museum's. Love the tiles on the ceiling and the bucking horse for adults and kids.Love the antique scarves
Half of the museum was closed for renovations. Still saw some cool stuff but not much.
Fun informative place
Place full of historical information. Once you walk in you feel proud of the legacy of the ladies who change the story and made a difference. Women who open the door for the new generation. This was the day of the re opening of the museum and inauguration of the second floor where the costume of Wonder Woman dress by Gal Gadot was exposed.
Smaller museum but EVERYTHING was top notch! Ingid was very kind and helpful. Wonderful art and artifacts depicting women in western/cowgirl life.
A must visit while Cowtown. Showcasing the history of the cowgirl and all the amazing clothing and artifacts that are part of history. From back in the wild West to TV Westerns and today's modern cowgirl. Loved seeing all costumes and reading all the stories. It's right next to the Fort Worth museum of Science and History too, so you can check out both in the same day.
I loved showing my 3 little girls how women could be great, interesting, and powerful
(Translated by Google) There I am chambing
This is a MUST SEE place! It is a state of the art museum and a magnificent tribute to the strong women of the West!
Took my wife there as part of her Birthday (she loves horses, the outdoors, and history). She loved it! We ran out of time to see and read about everything. There are several interactive parts of the museum that are really fun. You can take pictures of yourself in cowboy/cowgirl settings and print them out and send to your phone. You can ride the bucking bronco and make a video you can watch and see online. The quality of the exhibits is very good and displays are appealing. A few things for kids, too, although we came by ourselves. You may be able to save $7 for parking if you can find a spot and walk in rather than park in the adjacent lot.
It's a cowgirl museum, what's not to love? The museum was still under renovation when I went, but the bottom floor was finished. It was gorgeous. Modern layout, clean white walls, and an inviting atmosphere. Personally, I found the small size of the exhibits to be refreshing and not overwhelming. Oh and they have a great photo booth.
Architecturally - a gorgeous building. Very new and spacious inside. Amazing artifacts inside and we loved the free photo booth downstairs (the paid one upstairs had less interesting photo options). Upstairs was as inspiring with all the modern era cowgirl featured. Made me proud to be a woman. Too bad it was only visited today by women and their children. Only downside was the gift shop was very pricey.
Currently under renovations so you can only see half of it, on the plus side it's only $5.00
Very informative. Badass woman & fun photo ops
Well-curated tribute to the American cowgirl. Not particularly child/family friendly. I like this museum but it does have a certain air of pretentiousness about it that seems odd given that cowgirls tend to be about the least pretentious people on the planet.
Clean set up for all ppl.... Crowded with happy folks
The museum was very interesting and it had a lot of amazing exhibits!
Wonderful exhibits, always changing. An impressive way to teach younger generations the heritage of the women in Western culture.
I’ve never been there, but my wife is a championship rider. She just started working at the camera store a block away. I hope she goes there on her lunch. Cowgirls rock!
Great place to learn about "Our Women of the West". Truly a inspirational experience for all ages
Very nice bldg a nd very friendly people
Very nice quit and funny (buth picture). Like the way they arrange the stories even for people not from USA. Fun for all family. Hope to fly and visit their again.
Went here when it opened and it was pretty good. Now, it seems a boring shell of its former self with obnoxious docents enforcing illogical rules (kids do not seem welcome here). Given the size of the building, you'd assume they could make a museum worth the price of admission; sadly, they only seem focused on selling overpriced trinkets and gimmicky photos. Very insulting to real museums.
Glad we went !!!
As of Jan. 2019, much of this space is under renovation. General exhibit as much about wild west shows as about women in those shows. Surprised that there were few other examples of female ranchers or working cowgirls. Mostly females in wild west shows. Check out the photo booth where you get photo next to Annie Oakley or Buffalo Bill.
Cool history that I knew nothing about
Really cool
The museum is the best museum I’ve been to in a long time. It was incredibly well done, not overwhelming at all, and they had holograms of Annie Oakley recessed in the walls at adult eye level, but had toddler stairs with rails for kiddos so they could see too. They have a bronco ride that records your ride that you can text or email to yourself. They also had a photo booth with different scenes you could be added into. Prints and digital images are free! And they had a little bingo game/scavenger hunt thing for kids so the displays would grab their attention. You don’t win anything for finding everything but it was still fun. Out front they even have a little fountain/splash pad! Five stars and ALL the thumbs up!
Extremely interesting and inspiring exhibits!
Was very informative, Annie Oakley display was really neat to see. Loved the interaction too. Learned a lot.
The new exhibits are a huge improvement! My daughter loves the digital design room, where she can design cowboy boots, shirts and a horse and then have it projected on the wall. The Bronco Ride and movie maker is also much improved and updated. This is a great stop after a visit to the Science museum.
Awesome time they have made so many great updates!
Here from supermega!
They had great information and beautiful art work but I wish they had more items directed at kids.
This is such a pretty museum. I love how it highlights the experience of women in relation to being a cowgirl.
