It's ok.
Great place to visit with kids or without
So much to see and to learn.
It good and very nice museum, I hope they add more rooms or interactive hands on exibits.
Great place to learn about the area's history. Very clean and the staff are so helpful and happy.
I enjoyed walking through each of the exhibits at this museum. The pottery and modern art exhibits were particularly interesting. There is also a planetarium that has laser shows. I would recommend visiting this museum.
Take my grandkids they love it.
Dinosaur Day was fun but the tables were under staffed for the large amount of people there. Overall the kids had fun for free.
Good place to get the kids out
Great place
Very valuable to our community. We are all in this life together, that's what art and museums teach us. We need to live, love each other or we are all going to be extinct.
Where History comes to life!
Local museum that is indoor and outdoor. Educational and family friendly.
Took my family here and had a wonderful time. Ages from 7 to 68
It is always a great deal of fun and very informative to visit The Ranch and Heritage Center at the Texas Tech Museum. If you're a resident of Lubbock or just visiting this is a must-see. Be sure to check for special events like the candlelight tour around the Christmas season it's exquisite!
Very educational
Excellent front desk informative
Great world class exhibits. Natural and human history, modern and Western art, special exhibitions, now one on the photography of Russell Lee from his 1940 New Deal FSA photography of Pie Town, New Mexico and much more. It captivated David and I for a good 2 hours.
Well worth the visit if in the area.
Nice museum. Special exhibitions are always good. The perminant stuff is guite interesting though not very focused. Hey but it's free yeah.
My Pre-K team took our Pre-K students to the Ranching Heritage Center on a field trip. They LOVED it! During our Texas unit, we talked about early settlers in Texas, and how there was no running water, electricity, or indoor toilets. We talked about the dirt floor houses, no washing machines, or refrigerators, etc. This is something difficult for a Pre-K student to picture in their head, because all they've ever known is modern living. Our students loved the actual visualization, and the freedom of movement..... walking, skipping, galloping between the buildings. This was a perfect field trip for 4-year olds! ❤️
It was a pleasant surprise. I can not wait to visit once the planned updates are complete.
My family LOVES this place. Leisurely stroll back in time, on your own pace. Outdoor bathroom and benches throughout.
Very cool! Fun to see and experience the history of cattle in the US. Lots of work! Hats off to the good folks who have brought this together and continue to expand the offerings. Really enjoyed it all!
Awesome place to visit and experience some of rhe historical buildings and cuatoms of the old west!!! There were 3 families in our group 6 adults and 5 kids!!! Everyone had a great time and would definitely recommend going if you are in Lubbock!!!
Some areas closed. We loved the chess exhibit!
good museum in Lubbock. It's free
Love it
Staff is incredibly helpful, exhibits are not the same old stuff you see everywhere else. Extensive dino exhibit. Didn't have as much time as I wanted to look around but really enjoyed the time I was able to spend. One of the must-dos if you're in Lubbock.
What a wonderful museum. You will need several hours to cover it well. Do not miss the outdoor exhibits of TX history and wonderful display of how the lived. This museum is free to the public. We did not see the planetarium so I cannot comment. The museum has lots of really interesting exhibits. When we visited, several areas were roped off or closed, so we were done in about an hour and fifteen minutes.
A Great way to get lost in history!
Very nice museum, enjoyed a lot of the exhibits...
I've been visiting the TTU Museum since i was a child, and it has yet to lose my interests. I love this place. The staff is very friendly, and they continually have new exhibits annually.
This place is free admission so there's no excuse not to go there. They have some really extraordinary pieces of art that you must see, and read some of the paintings they have. Great place to take the family and teach them a little history.
Great museum. Incredible Planetarium architecture
You can visit the museum if you are in Lubbock. Typically takes an hour's time. You may spend more time if interested. The standard exhibits are about the Ice Age, model skeletons of dinasouros, paintings and photographs of native community or things related to Lubbock and it's history. Grasslands and wildlife photographs are new additions. I could not visit the planetarium during all three visits.
Its pretty dang big and its got a lorlt of different things to do great place to bring you kids go on a date or kind of anything that you want.
I think this is a wonderful place to visit.
This museum made a lasting impression on me when I was young. Forty years went by and it's still a wow !
Very nice exhibit!
So many amazing exhibits
Enjoyed the exhibition.
Well great museum and great staff very nice and amazing artifacts.
Very interesting place to visit!
Oh yeah, if you are interested in rural history (or were raised in 40's or 50's rural America), you need to see Dr. Marian Ann Montgomery's "Cotton and Thrift" exhibit. In addition, there are other exhibits of dinosaurs and early mammals, Native American art, pottery and textiles, a great collection of Chess sets and some really nice Western art.
Awesome place for history seekers.
Really nice place. My son and I had a great time!
Went there for a talk and everything was professional and set up in an engaging way.
I love the museum and planetarium
New Entry looks awesome !

Dino Day at the museum.
Absolutely love this place, have been going here since I was 6 years old. I'm glad I can bring my daughter's here and they enjoy it as much as I do.
Great experience
Great exhibits that change frequently. There is always something interesting to see and it is free!
I love coming here. There is alot to see. The employees here are really nice and helpful.
Wonderful place with very high quality stands and expositions. Recommend to every TTU student.
Loved it. We had a Great time. The expression on my 1 1/2 year old granddaughter was worth it all. She was so excited about everything she would see just wish we couls undrstand her wording more. But my other granddaughter still talk about their visit. They want to go back. My son n daughter n law will be taking them back soon. Recommend it highly especially as a family outing.
I love this place. A great way to spend a day. Helpful and energetic staff. Very clean and well kept even during the construction.
Great place to go, nice exhibits, lots of history for adolescent kids as well.
We always have a good time when we go, I only wish they had the weather exhibit still, it was a favorite for the kids. Another interactive exhibit would be great.
I have to go back and finish looking. Very nice Lubbock outing.
A great place to go with grandkids!
Fun to learn about the past
I have taken my daughter here a couple of times. I also have visited on my own. I really like the Dinosaur exhibit, it is small but very informative. This museum has much more than natural history exhibits, and appeals to many different interests. I hope the citizens of Lubbock recognize the value of this museum and support it through the forseable future.
Great local history and rotating exhibits. Oh, and dinosaurs!
The family lived coming here and will definitely be going again soon
It's an awesome place to see ancient stuffs. There are many events going on all the year around.
Great place to visit educational that doesn't cost a thing very fun place to see my wife and love it
Informative, Educational and so much fun for all the ages!
It was nice to take my granddaughter and grandson. They really enjoy it.
Great place to spend some time, especially since it’s free!
Free to visit with some fun exhibits including dinosaurs and ancient texts.
A must see place in Lubbock, especially if you have kids.
Average review for and average park. Lots of long-term and narrow slots. No pool or other amenities. OK for a one night pass through.
Huge with lots of different pieces, great staff full of information, planetarium was cozy with pleasant instructor
A wealth of information displayed but unorganized slightly. I would prefer more natural history. 3 exhibits are 5 star and 4 were 2 star in my opinion.
Excellent survey of western art ..including Georgia Okeefe. I love the way the museum has honored the American women fiber artists/seamstresses of quilts. My Aunt Opal Bulls Adamson was a seamstress and quilt maker in Lubbock 1930-80’s.
Candlelight At The Ranch is a wonderful tradition that me and my family look forward to each year. It's an experience that is heartwarming plus it teaches the younger generation what life was like back then. It's awesome and I hope this continues for years to come!
Great history lesson. Take the kids!
A lot of good info
I love this place
Very well done, ..clean, interesting, informative..will go back soon to finish my tour !! I like to read everything therefore I'm slow
Will open a child's mind into history. A wow factor with so many dinosaurs facts and sets of fossils
Been here quite a few times during my tenure as a Texas Tech graduate student. The museum never disappointed me, in fact, I've fallen in love over and over again!
Lots of things to see!
Best Museum in town. Go for the dinosaur exhibit, stay for the African exotic art.
It's free so you can't complain. I enjoyed the fossils and the paintings, especially the mammoth and the Norman Rockwell. My girlfriend liked the red dress exhibit. Next time I'm in Lubbock I'll check out the Ranching Heritage Museum
Queen laser show was awesome
Big, clean queen suite. Nice staff.
Fun for everyone to grab some knowledge!
Amazing to explore and learn from our history with our future leaders, our children. Very nice, clean and informative museum.
Dinosaurs! (and a lot of other fun exhibits).
Awesome place for kids who's love Dinosaur
Love history
Free and fun! So many different exhibits and activities. Enough to keep the kids busy for half a day. I would bring a stroller and good walking shoes.
Love how they do activities for kids and families to enjoy and learn together. Thank y'all!
Love bringing my kids to this museum
Very nice place to walk around and view how people lived years ago.
I love going here to see the planetarium and for nice museum dates
Free! And they have some awesome exhibits and alot of Lubbock history too!
It was good
The best date spot
This place is awesome my kids loved it!
Awesome place.... first time be there.
I liked that it was free and there was alot to read about, But it didnt keep my 9yr old cousin entertained or engaged. I think the layout was confusing.
Your portrayal of Native American art and the West in general wreaks of colonial undertones. Native American exhibit shows a lack of cultural understanding. Puebloan tribes and other Southwestern peoples such as the Navajo (Dine), are NOT the same and should not be grouped together. They have a conflicted past. Additionally, your display of Lubbock history is shamefully white. There is no mention of the contributions of African Americans or Latino Residents. Lubbock segregation is void from the conversation. This shows in my opinion, poor taste and perpetuates colonial and archaic ideologies. Get with the times.
Awesome!
Great experience. The Ranching Heritage Center was fun
Cool artifacts and reading. Fun walking with friends or family. Best of all it's free. Highly recommend.
Always such a great place to go by your self or with friends and family. Love this place
My girlfriend and I went to the museum, and it was a fun way to spend a warm afternoon. Plus the museum is free. The light shows and movies are fun as well, and reasonably priced.
This is one of my favorite places to bring my kids during the summer to cool down. They always have new exhibits and always very clean. The staff is always friendly. The best place to come and cool down from the summer heat and the kids will enjoy the dinosaur exhibit. Mine love it!
Wonderful if you like history. Very well maintained and clean.
This was an incredible museum. Well worth the time to visit it. Plan on spending lots of time
Great experience for my grandson.
Family friendly
Cool stuff
Good free fun
I love this place and every time I go i discover new things
Not the most interesting attraction in Lubbock. The exhibits leave a lot to be desired. Try the National Ranching Heritage Museum just next door.
Can't wait to take my family.
Great place to see anything from animals to old Lubbock. And fun events.
Recently went to the ranching heritage candle light event and it was amazing. It was so cool In seeing the actors dress up and bring the historical building to life. I’ve also been here on the regular days and it’s so fascinating In learning about the history of each house at the museum!! Def it’s a must. You can also enjoy the inside of museum and they have a lot of cool displays about the Native American Cherokee and the cowboys. Also if you are looking to see the 6666 barn it’s a must!! It’s free to visit but you can also donate a few bucks if you can!! Enjoy!
First off its free! Its very nice and they always keep it updated with new exhibits, and the family events they hold are always fun.
Nice
Excellent exhibits! Went with a private school and the children enjoyed the time. I will be going back with my husband to enjoy more.
Fun place to bring the kids and they offer free events
My first time here in FOREVER I LOVE coming here. Kettle Corn was great & Hot CHOCOLATE. ❤
Pretty cool
Wonderful displays. Incredible information on the cattle business history.
Good way to kill a few hours. Travelling exhibits are interesting, and they are working to improve the overall museum
I really love the art collections of the theme “Americans going West”.
Exclent museum with a wide array of unique and changing exhibits. Mostly adult friendly but not there that kids might find to be of interest.
This place is fantastic. There's so little to do in Lubbock, and even less when you have no money. This place is free and informative, and you can take a good hour or so looking at the interesting exhibits. The theater is outstanding as well. My family and I have gone to many shows here over the years.
Good
Very good and friendly staff
Excellent place
Amazing museum, we spent a couple of hours there, too much to learn. Definitely going back!
Excellent for a college museum, detailed and fascinating exhibits.
Great place for a family day! Staff is very helpful and friendly. They use the space they have very well and, I am always excited to go!
Good place to look around.
I love this place I've been many times. And an never disappointed
Enjoyed this very much. Very interesting exhibits and extensive replicated historical houses other structures. Must be a great place to work as everyone we talked to was very friendly and seemed happy to be there!
Enjoyed my visit. Watched jazz and had a great time
Five star care
Lots of Dino's!
It was so much fun to see.
My sons favorite place. We can go anytime and stay for hours looking at the dinosaur exhibit.
Great place to bring the kids for free! Highly recommended!
This is a wonderful place to spend a couple of hours with old bones, artwork, and special exhibits. I particularly enjoyed the temporary exhibit on chess. I don't even play chess, but the chess sets from around the world were beautifully made. The N.C. Wyeth paintings made to illustrate children's books on exhibit made me want to re-read some of those books. Even if he did not consider his work fine art, the illustrations are attractive and thought-provoking. And worth viewing again and again.
