Great place to visit and learn more. Very interesting and engaging.
Loved it! Would like to go again to catch what I missed.
Absolutely wonderful place. We held our wedding reception here. Thanks MOST
Tells a lot of history
I took many pictures, but I ended up not staying as long as I wanted. My father rushed me out because he was hungry.
Best place to visit your cultural heritage and not pay a lot of money
Had a Funny and Educational Tour with the students
A very beautiful building, beautiful architecture and the exposition is amazing.
This place is just awesome I remember coming here as a child before all the new renovations I still have fond memories coming with my grandfather Benny calvillo he volunteered for many years here he loved this place as it was his own
Love to go to their festivals and special events. My kid love it
So much to take in in one day, very informative
Love it here
Lots of history here!
Good museum, nice staff.
History at its finest...
I spent most of the day there just soaking up the history of South Texas, especially the Rio Grande. I've lived in the valley most of my life and i never knew we had so much history. It's a good place for the family.
Yet a other fine place to spend a day. The building is both modern and respective of period Spanish colonial architecture. The exhibits are colorful and well thought out. The museum also hosts the largest collection of historical photographs in South Texas.
Awesome
Had a great day at the museum.
Wonderful museum for children to learn about our areas history
Fun
Super nice museum. Very interesting
Muy interesante! Y la exposición del dia de muertos estuvo hermosa..!
It is a great place to visit with family.
It's was amazing. It's very interesting and it's important too see the history where you live or just want to visit its important to learn about your roots and the Rio Grande Valley is my home it's where my family is from its where I originate the, past has created the present of when we live it is a important time to remember the times of boats and sail boats that crossed the Great River its a big part of history it is very important I loved my visit at the museum it was truly great
Very well done for a small museum. Easy to learn and enjoy such a complete history of this area. Reasonable admission price, friendly, knowledgeable staff. I'd visit again....
Amazing please go. Teachers I recommend this place. And for students as well.
Loved this little museum. Everything was excellently presented. The sounds for each section was a nice touch. Kid friendly hands-on displays are well thought out. Everyone evolved should be very proud.
Awesome! If you want some history from the beginning and how much we have evolved this is the place to go.Very friendly staff. They have the place very well maintained.
I visited w/my 6 or old grand-daughter. We loved it. Very impressive displays. So much great information for everyone and very enjoyable. We will b returning when the jail construction is complete. We can't wait!
So many things to see about the history
Lots of fun
Wonderful day exploring the history of the RGV
Love it
Tour guides here are great. If you love history and you love Texas then this is a must see.
Fun place for the family. Lots of great history and art.
Was nice to go back and visit a childhood place that I went to when I was in school.. can't wait till they open the jail section back up... Very nice and courtious workers...
Awesome place to bring your family. They have different events, but by far the event for "el dia de muertos" is one of the greatest. The pioneer and ranching one is not so good. I'm not so comfortable with people abs the defeated Confederate flag, and over priced powder aguas frescas. Besides all that, everything else is great! I love the prehistoric exhibition specially!
Cool i guess
This has to be one of THE BEST museums in Deep South Texas! There Sunday Speaker Series, Happy Hour events, and annual events are superb! I encourage you to visit this lovely Museum. I visited this museum for the first time within the last year. Frankly, I was surprised at how much--- information, items, artifacts, and history---is contained in this wonderful, visually-appealing Spanish-style Museum. I would venture to say that one could spend hours in hear and still not see everything in a day. I enjoyed it so much so that I purchased an annual membership!
Layed out well...made history easy to inderstand, and interesting and enjoyable. Staff friendly and knowledgeable and informative.
Enjoyed presentatio on Underground Railroad trabeling south.
I've been coming here since the early 90s. Now that I have a child, we love to go as often as we can. It's such a great place for the whole family. Lots of culture and history for South Texas.
Enjoyed the exhibits but not the temperature inside. Lovely pleasant day outside. Freezing inside. Had to leave early as we didn't have have overcoats or thermal gear.
I went to vote in Edinburg Tx and found this interesting historical site.
This is a fantastic museum!!! It has variety of history items from the Valley (things that I didn't know had existed here-they will surprise you). It's a must to see!!!
2 hours of history of every sort. Loved it. I think the souvenir store needs another look.
So much to see. Very cool place
Love it! Very interesting and fun
Love this place a lot of history
A 'must see' if you are in the Valley, much bigger than appears on the outside.
Very informative loaded with history.
Not a giant museum but it's packed with a lot of artifacts that are interesting.
Very well organized and great history lesson. Everyone in the RGV should visit
There is a lot of history in this museum that you can learn from it and there is a gift shop inside the museum. Ideal for kids and family during vacations.
Informative
Took the wife and kids we had a blast very friendly environment and educational
Enjoyed seeing antique artifacts and reading the historical accounts.
Small but interesting. Good place to visit for a few hours. Sad the jail was closed for renovation.
Very well presented. Loved the huge mammoth skeleton. First visitors from Victoria Australia.
The Sunday afternoon presentations are fascinating! Then again, everything trip there is a marvelous adventure!

Love this place
Not a huge museum fan but it was nice. Free on Saturday AM
An amazing place to learn about the history of south texas. The railroads and indigenous people that lived along the valley.
Good collection
There's so much information and things to see that every person from the valley should come experience. If your a proud Texan this is the place for you.
Awesome
We arrived at 4:40, the doors were locked, we walked around thinking we were at the wrong doors, after a few minutes someone stepped outside and told us the museum was closed. We tried to ask their hours of operation but the lady closed the door so fast we were unable. It turns out the museum close at 5:00pm. I understand that 20 minutes is not enough time to enjoy the place or give a tour but it is certainly enough time to give basic information. Bad customer service.
This place has wonderful exhibits and knowledgeable staff.
Beautiful museum with tons of ever changing exhibits and the mammoth from Night at the Museum! Tons of fun for adults and kids. Lots of really interesting stuff and tons to learn.
KID'S LOVE MC DONALD ❤️
Love this museum
Saturday morning from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. it is free I recommend that you go at this times for free it's great.
One of the Valley's best museums. Highly recommended to visit
Very educational for the whole family
Very cool. Great history lesson.
Excellent museum that shows a great deal of South Texas history. It is well maintained and easy to use access everything. The free entrance on Saturday morning is a great deal!
(Translated by Google) 8 dollar entrance, nice place (Original) 8 dólar entrada, bonito lugar
Super excellent Día de los muertos festival . Nice exhibits and excellent speakers. I understand they have a Christmas festival. I would love to attend
Good family time at the edinburg museum
Great atmosphere. Great staff. Great exhibits.
Extremely informative!
Friendly staff and great museum.
Super educational, kids enjoyed, lots of fun.......
It was very interesting and very imformative
Precious little pearl. A really nice museum illustrating the history of South Texas, providing useful description and explanation of the southernmost tip of the United States. Must visit to learn not only the history of South Texas but also about US-Mexican relationship.
AAA
This museum is s amazing! It's a shame they don't advertise it. My son who is 4 really enjoyed it, we had a fun time exploring, playing and learning! Not to mention we went through the museum three times and he was sad to leave because it was close to closing time. For sure we will visit it again!
Such a great place, the displays were in Spanish and English
Very nice.
Had a really great time here. Shame I hadn't been here sooner. Old Jailhouse is undergoing some renovations, so it's closed for a while.
The best in the valley
Shows bobs
My experience at MOSTHistory started off on a needlessly bad note which tarnished my enjoyment of the museum. The exhibit halls were very well put together and engaging. One section was under construction which was disappointing but understandable. Unfortunately as we were checking in and buying our tickets, one of the welcome center staff very rudely told me to spit out my gum as per policy. The interaction was more of a parent chastising a child than a staff member directing a grown man. I would have asked for a refund and left had I not been with out of town visitors. Extremely disappointing to be treated as such.
Great displays of everything from prehistoric to modern day Texas!
Nice museum!
Everything you would expect from a museum and so much more. The cleanliness of the building and attentiveness of the staff contributed to an enjoyable experience. I came over for a food and beer tasting, and I was extremely entertained with the quality of craft services. I recommend to all of my friends and family to give the MOSTH happy hour a try!
Super cool little museum. We went during their annual pioneer days celebration. It is a great time for all ages. So much fun, and a great learning experience also. Highly recommend if you are in the area.
Great museum dealing with South Texas history.
An interesting look into history along the American border. Complete with bilingual descriptions and facts, so I got to learn a bit more Spanish whilst I was there. Not too expensive either. Took about 2 hours to go around the museum.
Such a cute museum. Love learning about the local history of the valley. They have cool events monthly you should check out.
Just great place to see. Very informative
Ranchero Days.
Wow! What a great place. I love it. No visit to RGV would be complete, with out a trip to this museum. I want to return and spend more time. If you care about history in the least degree, you will not leave disappointed.
Very well documented information.
Great place of fun for family and learning history
This is a very space place lots of fun for the whole family and is at a good rate with not a lot of people so everyone can be done in one day, best attractions have more workers by it allowing for a good learning environment, the city needs to do a better job of telling the community to go
Great place to visit.
Good
Excellent
Very nice place to go visit.
Such a great resource! We always bring our visitors to the museum to learn more about the history of the area. We also value the speakers and other activities provided by the museum. We're lucky to have MOSTH!
Very informative

Interesting to see how Texas evolved
Yes
Good
Great historical displays
very Educational
Loved going to the museum for the first time. Loved being able to see all the rich history of the valley.
I made connections to my past viewing things that my grandmother used. It was a teachable and a connection experience. Iron maker tools, writing and sewing machine, etc
Its a awsome place to learn history
Neat!
Go. Just go.
Beautiful architecture and great experience if you want to get in touch with the origins of the Rio Grande Valley. Probably the largest and most sophisticated museum in South Texas, it houses an impressive collection of artifacts that in capsulate the essence of the RGV. A good experience overall, i just wish the museum had even more room to grow and expand its magnificent collection.
went for a fild trip love it
Loved the event and scavenger hunt with my teammate Maru Requene.
Coool
Best museum of the area. I highly recommend this place. Also,my kids enjoyed the visit.
Just passed by
Amazing displays of S Texas history.
Absolutely awesome place to visit. It's been years since we've been here and don't know why we waited so long. Tons of historical information and displays. My husband and I are both old enough to remember a lot of the events that took place over the years. We brought our granddaughter today and she really enjoyed it. Staff are very very friendly and helpful.
(Translated by Google) I am just going to know the place of the museum but the opinions I see that people liked the place and I think that I also like the History of America (Original) Apenas voy a conocer el lugar del museo pero x las opiniones veo que la gente les gustó el lugar y creo que a mi tambien x que me gusta la Historia de América
Learned a lot about local history.
It was not expensive. Staff was great we are able to take photo. Alot old thing that the society donated. Nice to be able to explain to our children how we used something
It was pretty cool i just wish it was bigger.
Learning is fun here.
Lots of history... really enjoyed seeing old pictures of the city of edinburg, learned a lot.
Wonderful presentation today by Jillian Glantz about the history of African Americans in the Rio Grande Valley and surrounding region.
Excellent museum!! The cost and employees are nice and informative. We learned ALOT for the price. It was totally worth it!!
Very nice.. I liked very much... Is time to take our kids and they can appreciate the rich we are on history and very affortunate to live here
Visited several times, quite a nice collection about Rio Grande Valley history.
This was an amazing historical museum. I was totally taken by surprise at this impressive museum including their mammoth skeleton. Must see.
I'm always amazed at the amount of history the Rio grande valley has to offer, u even saw my grandmother's ancestors on one of the papers signed.
Great museum for understanding South Texas prehistory and history!
This museum is small, but it makes up for its vast historic themes. The south texas history is well described with a lot of artifacts or historic display. I went on a Saturday afternoon, and there very few people. So parking is very easy, and I paid 6 dollars for entrance; though with my university ID. Restrooms are very clean. This museum is a must for valley natives, or for people visiting the rio grande valley. By far, this museum is a gem of museums in the rio grande valley.
Such a beautiful local museum. We went primarily to see a traveling pictorial display, but the art galleries and gift shop drew us in. A map provides easy access to favorite displays and the people who work here are friendly and knowledgeable! A great way to spend an afternoon!
Great museum. Walk through the different eras of RGV history. The building is also historic, part of the building was an old jail where hangings of criminals occurred. learn about dinosaurs, native tribes, and cowboys that have lived in South Texas.
It was a little smaller than we thought but very educational. The second floor was a bit disconnected from the texas history area but cool too.
Very interesting place to visit while in Edinburg.
The amount of local history is overwhelming. We had a great time our tour was fantastic. Would highly recommend
