we spent a gorgeous weekend in West to attend a wedding. Had a couple of hours to kill in town and wandered into the museum. What a treat! Highly recommended. We had not one but two guides who were happy to show us everything. Very well done.

For a small town (albeit one with an abundance of history and heritage), this is a very good museum. We were very pleasantly surprised at the displays and information given. We'll be back!

Excellent exhibits when visiting in 2017. Great selection of books in the gift shop as well. Museum on the campus of West Texas A&M University. Parking is not a concern, but admission should cost money. Exhibits on oil and gas are regional, especially to the Texas Panhandle

Loved our visit to the History of West Museum. There were 2 super nice ladies there that took us aroud and told us about the different things exposed there. There is a whole section about the big explosion that happened a few years ago and other interesting sections with sport memorabilia, a photography collection and many old artifacts uses by the frist citizens of West. Definitely a great place to visit. The admission is free. There is a souvenir section at the entrance. Bring cash as they dont accept cards.

I visited the museum a few months ago and was very impressed with the exhibits and history of the community. When I left I felt like I had lived there because the information was so useful and vivid. Wonderful experience!

As me and my Slovak girlfriend was travelling across Texas we found out about this small city with Czech history along the I-35 between Austin and Dallas which was a perfect stop for us. We found this museum by coincidence in the city center and was lucky enough to be there on a Friday as it seems like it's only open Thursday to Saturday. It seemed like the museum was taken care of by seniors who had time to guide us through the museum which was very nice! Overall a very nice experience which I can recommend to anyone travelling through I-35 and especially if you have Czech/Slovak heritage.

We truly enjoyed this museum!!! The volunteers are so friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to share history. The displays are so interesting, eye-catching, and filled with information. There is so much to see that you will want to visit more than once. The only bad thing being, it is only open Thursday thru Saturday so be sure to fit it into your schedule.

Not a big museum but definitely one worth visiting to learn about the history of this small town settled by Czech families in the 19th century. Many of the town's residents are descendants of those original settlers.

So I love the whole town of West. But for some reason the one person in this museum was somewhat rude and standoffish. She seem to not want out siders. The rest of the town was amazing. I want to live here.
