This Museum corresponds to the category of Science museum.
lots of fun for little kiddos and big kids alike. a little pricey for sure but lots of staff to keep an eye on things and answer questions.
It used to be a great place but now it's a sub par children's museum with nothing museum about it. The exhibits are tired and old. Parents bring children as a baby sitter. There's no interaction or teaching moments with children. They drop them off in the grocery area and then look at their phones. It used to be a great museum and now it only makes me sad.
My daughter has a great time. Her favorite part was creating her dinosaur and seeing it in the big screen!
Technology portion of museum is good for kids of all ages. Nice interactive physics labs and hands on projects including dinosaur a d anatomy exhibits. $13 for kids 2-18 and $16 for adults. Parking was $10.
So much to see, I love going to just check what's changed since the last time I was here
I had a great time coming to the museum with my grandchildren.
This is a great day for the grandkids! There is so much for them to see and do! Its better when it's busy so the kids have others to interact with, but either way is a good day out particularly when the weather is not cooperating! They always have fun events throughout the year as well which just adds to the excitement of a little something different each time we go!
We had an amazing time. We are so greatfull for the first responders weekend. The 911 exibit was very moving not only for me but for my husband who is a volunteer firefighter.
LOVE how much there is to do for the littles! And the new space exhibit is wonderful.
It's a nice museum and well laid out. The interactive center is well thought out and a multitude of options. I personally enjoy the natural gas and solar powered exhibits with the visual and interactive displays. It was very crowded for how cold it was when I went but overall a very good experience. Recommend going towards end of day
ALWAYS a great place to go, whether your 9 or 109!
It I super awesome I love it
Great place, if you come with kids is a very good option.
It is oriented towards school children, but worth a visit.
Some good time taking the kids there, they loved it!
Great place to take the kids. Entry fees are like movie theater prices, however the gained experience is so much better. Great opportunity for learning and bonding. Also, if you don't want to pay for parking, you can try and snag the free parking spots around the museum. Just be prepared to walk. Or, you can become a member and have free parking on future visits.
We have a blast everytime we go. My family of eight and two parking passes makes for a great time and learning experience for the whole family. They are courteous and informative at the front desk along with being effeciant with the admissions. One thing that stands out at this museum is the variety of exhibits and they are ever changing. There's nothing stale about this museum!
We did not have much time, because we stopped in after the rodeo on our way back to the car. We spent 30 minutes there before they closed for the day. My kids loved every minute, and are begging to go spend an entire day there.
Great museum for kids. Adults will enjoy it too
This used to be a great place for history but most of the history seems to have disappeared. There is science still but very little and 80% is all kiddie craft things. Its really disappointing to see the dinosaur skeletons in bright lit white platform instead of the natural dirt they used to be in. I remember taking 4 to 5 hours to go through the museum and now after the remodel a few years ago it's just not enjoyable.
Go once a week great for kids
Don’t miss the planetarium show. The cow portraits are also great.
We have enjoyed coming to this museum since our first child was a toddler. It always has great exhibits and fun things to do. This year, there was the added benefit of getting into the Fort Worth Livestock Show for free since we are members. We live nearly 3 hours away, and we still join this museum.
A wonderful Museum to visit for all ages.
It's a great place for kids and adults that in joy and having fun together Or you can just sit and watch your kids playing as their learning and having fun.
I can't wait to go back
Great place! My kids loved it.
So much family fun we have a season pass.
Really enjoyed it. The wife and I took our daughter here for her 4th birthday. There were some very interesting exhibits and real fossils and asteroids on display. Plenty of things for a 4 year old to look at as well, including a small children's museum with lots of toys. I do wish the cafe was open a little later. We were all getting thirsty a little after 4 o'clock, but the cafe was shut down and being cleaned since the museum shuts down at 5. Just a side note - there is parking near the front door of the museum if you don't want to park all the way behind it in the parking garage like we did. We didn't know the area, so we parked there. Also ticket price for 2 adults and 1 child was $45.
Fun place for young children.
So many interactive exhibits and patient, pleasant staff. Cafe was good. Clean facility. My toddler and I will definitely be back!
It's decent. My beef is that a lot of the time, exhibits are just kind of left out for people to figure out on their own. For example, there are these blowers where patrons can fold paper "helicopters". But there is no real explanation anywhere of aerodynamics, forces, gravity, etc - it's just a table with some scissors and a bunch of paper and some blowers. I guess i would expect a little more obvious educational material.
Completely new and remodeled, yes its smaller than before, but still good learning experience for kids
Good place to visit.. especially with kids
This museum is great for kids to interact and have fun while learning. The whole downstairs is a playground for kids. I wish there were more exhibits geared towards people older than 13 besides the two rooms upstairs. A little over priced for 1 exhibit while the rest stays the same.
Kind of lack luster for the price, it's really cool, but more of a destination to take ones children than anything.
ps alert your elders that you are greeted with a long boy dinosaur in the entrance
London, Chicago, New York, and LA's premier top notch IMAX screens do not even compare to the Fort Worth Museum of Science's projector. For decades this screen as dominated the IMAX experience and continues to do so.
Did the science on tap. I loved having the place all to the adults. Wish there were more events that had adults only. (I know, I know, it's a kids museum)
This is definitely a museum aimed at CHILDREN. It's entertaining for a little bit for adults, but there's much more to do if you're a kid.
Love this museum and it's hands on experiences that get the kids excited about science and history. It has a fascinating piece of the world trade center wreckage in the lobby. My kids especially enjoy the giant building blocks in the outside courtyard. We participated in a hand on activity creating circuits to make a light up ring with LEDs and watch batteries. It was a memorable and enriching experience even for the grown ups. On that same day the kids also made super hero capes. One of the favorite experiences is the dinosaur area where they can color a picture of a dino and watch it come to life on the wall as an animated character with everyone else's creations. They offer lots of opportunities for groups such as scouting or school field trips as well.. The staff are friendly and engaging. You can easily waste an entire afternoon here.
My family loves coming but I wish it wasn't so expensive to go to a museum.
Great place to take the kids, very interactive. The dinosaur exhibit was really fun with the DinoGlow, Dino Dig and the water tables. The kids zone has a fun paper airplane table, with several things to do and create.
Good place for kids l, planetarium is nice and I love the IMAX theater
Heard a lecture on the Gault site, very important archeological dig in central Texas know for it's large collection of Clovis people's lithic remains and now for pre-Clovis Peoples dating up to 20,000 years ago.
Very nice visit! My boys had a great time! There was plenty for the kids to enjoy.
For a science and history museum, it let me down. It’s more focused on kids environment versus the adults. So if you are a parent or anyone who is wanting to go here with kids it’s perfect for you! But for adults not so much. Worth going with family and younger ones!
We love the museum and the planetarium. Also I appreciate that they offer veterans discounts.
This muesuem is tailored to kids. My 4- year old loves to visit and there are plenty of activities to make many visits both unique and fun. We went every weekend for a month before my son was ready to take a break. Definitely will keep on our regular rotation of outings.
Cool place to spend time learning with others
Had a blast taking my nephew...he loved the dinosaurs!
They rebuilt it, but no longer have any exhibits I grew up with. More for kids now than adults. I was disappointed
Family entertaining center, organized, friendly staff and exciting attractions
We took 4 kids under the age of 7 and they had a fantastic time.
There's a lot of things I learned
Took grandkids to the Imax theater, then visited Museum. One of the best places to entertain children & adults at the same time.
My family and I love this place. We became members because it pays off after a few visits. We love bringing guests.
Great family museum to visit. We opted for the noble planetarium along with general admission. The gentleman @the door going into the planetarium show was extremely friendly and helpful. My only complaint, & why I didn't give 5 stars is because halfway through the show the employee in charge of initiating the program Stopped it and turned the lights on thinking it was done? Obviously not paying attention. The museum itself was very clean and organized with plenty of interactive activities for the children to stay busy with for what seemed like hours.
Awesome museum! Time of stuff for kids to do and interact with. Almost all of the exhibits have things for people to touch and experience. Great place!
Overpriced for what you get and a little run down. My young kids still had fun though.
The Omni Theater is awesome, and its a Great place for kids!
Great place to bring the kids and family. Exhibits are very interesting and interactive
The FWM of Science and History is a lot of fun. It is a great place to go if you have kids that are under the age of 12. What I wish they would do better is to update their exhibits, parking should be free, and GO DEEPER in the complexity of the exhibits. In some ways the museum is TOO kid friendly, but this is just my humble opinion.
It was great, had really cool activity spots and had a movie theater
If you are in Fort Worth, this is a must see. Its great for the family or just going with adults. I went as a kid and still enjoy going today. It has improved greatly over the years. Be ready to spend some time. But you will not be disappointed.
Great place to take your kids. It has interactive dinosaur exhibits. A collection of local dinosaur fossil finds, gemstones. Dinosaur dig (fossils buried in a sand pit). A role playing area with an ambulance, delivery room, grocery store, and train building area and blocks. There is an outdoor water area. Great gift shop. A physics area (body lifted on nail, spinning globes, wind tunnels, etc.). Cattle history area with cow specimens, "special" cattle paintings, examples of cattle brand, cattle rustler investigator history, barbed wire collection. An observatory with shows about stars. And, of course, rotating exhibits. There are separate rooms that can be reserved for parties or just used to view fossils under a microscope, play with a giant lite-bright, or make glow in the dark drawings. Oh, and an Omnimax (globe shaped screen) theater.
Lots of fun! Great activities for kids.
Great place with a variety of exhibits. Lots of fun for kids too.
Wonderful experience. Pricey, so be aware.
Always a fun time at the museum and the Omni is a wonderful experience.
This place needs updating. There is a lot of space for potential and a lot of it has been the same from when I was a kid. My 2 year old loves it though and it’s something to do on a hot day.
Quite small and underwhelming for a metropolitan area and large pricetag.
From its very beginning said his matured into a fabulous place and it was fabulous before it's just even better now great place to take the kids Omni Theater is wonderful the exhibits are usually fantastic and they have special exhibits which are wonderful
The "On Tap" experiences offer a free libation!
This was an amazing place to go to and the staff there are really nice. But one thing that does bring it down a little bit is how much it all cost
My whole family loves the interactive areas. We love the water play, the energy exhibit, and the new one: the space exploration area upstairs. We don't care for the dinosaur exhibit though. It has very little information about dinosaurs and seems like just a place to entertain small kids while parents look at their phone
I love science so this museum has always been one of my favorite places to go to. My son was excited at first but became bored after about 1 hour which is expected for a child his age. He did enjoy the hands on activities and running up and down the stairs lol. We will go back but I'll make sure we take another kid with us next time.
Space exhibit, children's museum, cattle raisers exhibit, imax & more. Fun for the kiddos, gift shop is really pricey ($4 for soda)
My 24 yr old daughter and I went to the museum today. We had such a great time! I think we had more fun and was more fascinated than the children there. We will definitely be back!
My wife and I really enjoyed science on tap!
I and my grandchildren went to the pajama party just before Christmas. The kids had a blast playing with everything and getting their picture taken with Santa. After the party we went to the Imax and watched THE POLAR EXPRESS! We all had fun and the kids were asleep before we got home. The museum had a wonderful program for the kids!
The theater here is unlike any other in the area
Cool place. Went to see a Harry Potter exhibit. Then the movie was shown on the Omni screen. Not the best clarity. I guess we're so used to this digital age and very bright colors on our tvs.
Went to the Mega pet adoption. Got one dog great but he medical issues we could not afford to resolve his issues so had to return him back to the pet adoption place .hopefully some one who can take care of him medicaly better than us good bye Junior
We took our boys, 7 & 10. Great place, lots of staff around keeping an eye on things, fun, interactive exhibits. The boys and the adults all enjoyed themselves very much. Spent over 3 hours inside, including a showing in The Omni Theater, and could have spent more. Loved it.
My son and I come to the Museum every time he visits, and he has the time of his life! We've been 4 times and we still haven't seen everything they have to offer, but it's all engaging and educational and so much fun. We even had his 3rd birthday party there a week ago and they brought in animals to show all the children, and talked about them and let them touch. They also do a Science on Tap for adults that's always a blast, and you get to experience artisans from Fort Worth doing what they do best! I love all the museums but this one is also one you can visit over and over and still enjoy, especially with family and friends.
Great for kids. Had a 1 year subscription and there were things to do year round. They also have a great IMAX
Awesome place for children to explore science and learn history. Very child friendly museum. Will definitely come back there
A nice museum for the whole family.
We have been members for years and still enjoy going!
Great educational museum! Very kid friendly
I expected more. $16 general admission and $10 to park. The dinosaur bones were interesting as was the energy exhibit and cattle museum. But overall I found lacking for the price. Plenty of interactive kids things. Bring earplugs.
I love to go here as they have so many things to choose from. Of course they have the museum. They have the Omni Theater that offers a surround sound experience that you will never forget as it allows you to feel like you are right there in the middle of it. They also have the Noble Planetarium which I especially like. I went there recently with my daughter and we went to two shows in a row at the planetarium that we really enjoyed. After, we went to the gift shop and found some treasures to bring home. We found a star chart and ate some freeze dried ice cream that we used to always get when she was a teenager there. It is what the Astronauts used. Try it, you will find it very interesting. Have fun.
Went to lunch at the museum, food selection was limited, not that good and over priced. Too bad because the location is very nice. I won't eat there again.
Just so so. Definitely for kids. Little to see for adults. The planetarium projector is very dim and hard to see. I'd skip the planetarium until they get a better projector.
I've gone to this museum for over 40 years, and though I miss the old exhibits, the new open design makes it easy for the little to choose what they'd like to do and discover.
Not open enough hours in the day. Where are all the neat exhibits they used to have? We remember the old town display downstairs. All the glass cases with lots of artifacts you could read about. Special displays were neat. The hands on for younger children is nice but we could do without the "energy" display. Where is the rest of the cattlemen's display? Too many wide open spaces ... but we joined as members so we will be back.
I really liked the Omni Theater but it is so hard to get on the internet to find out information about the museum or the Omni Theater or to find out anything about it the times it's going to start and what is playing and what is going on at the Museum or the Omni and also to find the Omni Theater there's no signs to say where the Omni is at unless you have been there several times and to know where to park to go to the museum or the Omni Theater so they need to do better on that cuz people who come from different states and want to know more about the museum there needs to be better way of how to get ahold of someone to get better information because if the museum wants to get more money for other things about the museum there should be more information that people can get off of the internet
This is one of the most active and engaging science museums I have ever been to with a beautiful setting. My daughter is just shy of one and I am excited to try it again when she is a little older. They have indoor and outdoor activities for kids and I personally loved the cattle ranch exhibit upstairs. The talking cow paintings were hilarious. If your kids are really young I might hold off until they can engage with the exhibits more.
I loved this place and my son had a great time exploring! It’s a great way to spend the day and teach the little ones!
Love this museum! My kids always have the best time! Dino dig is my fave!
Omni theatre was good. Bit pricey in my opinion.
We were in the children's area. Most activities were fun for my granddaughter but the outdoor water area has been the same since my 30 year old daughter went to the museum as a child! Time to redo it!
Really such a cool place. My 2 year old loved it and so did we.
Nice Museum. We were here on a Friday and the Museum was full of school children. Could have been nicer if it wasn't so crowded. My granddaughter had a great time!
Step into the past or go into the future. Been visiting this museum since I was a kid. Many many changes over the years. Miss Some of the older exhibits but to keep up with today's times and the newer generation (millennials), things have to be more simplified and interesting. Imax was a great improvement for all.
Fantastic place to spend time with your children and encourage in them an appreciation of science & history.
Have fun.
Nice place to spend time with children
An excellent place for families and kids. My four year old had a blast.
Great children's museum. Good and affordable food so you can easily stay all day.
It's a fun place to take the family and I lived looking at the Dino's and cows
Very small museum for science. Almost half of the museum is dedicated for cow meat. I understand that the location is Fort Worth, but please.
Very informative and I really enjoyed the OMNI theatre, a great tourist attraction for out of town visitors.
2nd visit. Wow lots of things for adults too! Cattleman's museum.and more !
We visited the Omni theater and loved the experience. I do wish the movie had lasted a little longer. We watched Under the Sea. My soon looked for dolphins the entire time and was slightly disappointed because they didn't show any. But the sea animals he did see were very exciting. It is always better to be seated in the center of the theater to enhance the experience. Also, arrive on time or you'll miss the exciting intro. Definitely plan ahead. If you have small children, they will definitely want to go thru the different exhibits. PLAN Accordingly $$$$$. I would definitely recommend visiting and allowing several hours to tour the different exhibits or explore the membership options.
The Omni Theater needs a update...I'm guessing since HD is so common now it just doesn't look good, far from how amazing it was when I was a child. We're not mad that we went.
Pretty fun great for the hole family especially kids and adults alot of recreational activities.
Nice little museum with the emphasize on little. Had expected more. It took us just over an hour to see the adult stuff. If you have kids you'll probably spend two or three hours since it looked like the kid areas were as big as the adult sections. A little pricey for is size.
I remember going to the Museum on field trips as a child. What happened? I was shocked and disappointed when I found out our school paid 20.00 a student for what was included. There is nothing to see. The exhibits are small and dull. It was overcrowded and not enough for children tp enjoy. What happened to actual history exhibits. The dinosaur exhibit is a joke now. We will not go back.
Been going to this museum since I was a kid and that was over 40 years ago! I have now taken my own kids for the past 25 years around 10 times. Love the atmosphere. Parking is easy. They change out some of the exhibits every few months or so. Price is very reasonable and the staff is friendly.
Still a great place for the girls.
Not a place to visit if you don't have small children - if you DO have small children with you, they'll likely have a great time. The only exhibit that wasn't entirely children focused was the Texas Cattle Raisers - this was pretty neat, but not enough to make it worth the entry price.
I loved the video dome & the air compression space dome. It was a fun place to go!
My children enjoyed the exhibits and the hands on grocery shopping play area. Plus my daughter loves the dinosaurs!
Was nostalgic returning here, last time I had been was probably 12 years ago. Everything's the same at the Omni theater part that I visited and that's a good thing! Only difference might be the popcorn costing a couple bucks more.
Not much for adults, the star show in the planetarium was a unimpressive. I could have studied a script for 15 min and then given the same show.
Enjoyed the omni theater and planetarium. The museum itself I wish it felt more family like and not just for kids. Had a good day tho.
There is always so much to do here. We went to the planetarium recently and it was amazing! IMAX theater is a must
This place was quite fun! The Omni theatre experience was mesmerizing. The showing of "Tornado Alley" was well done and exciting. I look forward to returning.
They've added some cool stuff! The outdoor area needs to be updated, though. As locals, we go here a lot and some features/exhibits don't change often enough.
Right now they have the astronaut/space exhibit which is cool. There is a lot to do here for small kids; worth getting a membership. Awesome play area and discovery area as well as dino dig. Bring a lunch and eat outside in the patio area with tables.
This is a great spot to bring your kiddos! They have a whole exhibit that's interactive and lets them learn and play. My 4 year olds favorite was the area with trains, grocery shopping, and trolley!
This is definitely a must see museum! The Omni Theater is worth it. We spend hours here as there are many sections that my kids enjoyed.
Very family friendly. The kids had a blast.
This is a truely great museum. The children's part is exceptional. There are many many hands on exhibits. We had lots of fun.!
An excellent quality museum, with a huge children's area. The price is also much lower than comprable museums in the DFW area.
The movie theater was amazing and i loved all the echibits and activities.
Great educational place family friendly place to enjoy easy to get to great parking
Great experience for my two grandsons & me as well. Will definitely visit again.
Great place for kids to learn. Lots of activities. Plenty of parking.
This place is great for all ages! We has ages ranging from 1 to 11 and all seemed to really enjoy it!! The dino dig is still a huge hit!! I remember doing it when I was a kid!!
Neat place. Hope they add to it eventually.
This place is great. Several exhibits are free and of great quality. We also visited the planetarium which is small but very nice and a reasonable price.
Great place but just not enough activities for my one year old. And it was super crowded. He enjoyed it though
Wonderful museum for children and adults! Can say that with complete confidence knowing this was one of my favorite places to come as a child! Loved the grocery store. As an adult, Science on Tap is one of my favorite Fort Worth events. All in all, fun for the whole family can be found at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History!
We enjoyed this museum. Don't forget to watch the Planetarium show. The hands on exhibits for kiddos included writing with light/building with legos/making paper airplanes and launching them on a mechanical launch pad/making paper kites and launching them in air cylinders and more! There is also an outdoor dino/fossil dig area but rain kept us from experiencing that. It looked fun and educational. The Omni Imax is on one side of this building and I highly recommend attending a show there, also. $7 for that show is a bargain! Be prepared to spend $5 for parking. Great access for wheelchairs and strollers.
Fun & educational. Was the perfect place to hang out on a rainy day!
