Everything is awesome
Tour guide told us history of planes of fort worth then walked outside to see planes
Great selection of planes and cool staff.
It's nice for what it is. The staff is awesome. The planes are in rough shape but it's an all volunteer staff so that's to be expected. Worth an afternoon visit.
Educational and fun for the whole family
A piece of American history right on your own backyards. Surprised the boys by taking them here. So educational yet fun since these are actual planes that our US forces formerly used. The staff is friendly and informative (veterans) $10 for family. Free to active duty. Great Groupon yet. Either way it's affordable and worth the visit.
For a small museum in Fort Worth great exhibition would highly recommend
Perfect place to know more about the Texas aviation and aviation in general
Awesome display of incredible planes. You can feel the history.
Great place to learn about planes
Fun, small place with friendly guides who show you the history of the planes without droning on.
A very cool place to spend some time
Great museum with lots of history
I brought my two sons here thinking we might spend an hour looking around but instead spent a little over three hours learning about DFW's history with aviation. We were promptly greeted and taken around the museum. We then went outside to the "petting zoo". This is where we spent most of our time. We were guided by Bob, a gentleman that took his time explaining various parts of the planes and their history. We ended our tour with a military helicopter that we were able to walk in, very cool! There's is so much more to this museum that we will be returning. Thank you for such a nice experience.
It was worth the visit. The staff was very pleasant. I had a good time.
Really great place to bring the kids and watch them dream big.
Ok to see once..
Great selection of planes
Great little museum.
The people who work here have great stories to tell about the planes and artifacts!
Loved it.
I came with my family just for something to do. I thought it would be Interesting to see the history they had at this place. When we got there we were kindly greeted and the older gentleman working at the front desk was very fun and pleasant to talk to. Then we met Sherry. She was our tour guide. I thought she was just going to give a quick introduction about the place and let us explore, but that wasn't the case. She was so kind and so sweet. She was very knowledgeable about aviation from her experience being in a pilot simulator almost her whole life and working for a big aviation company. We spent 2 hours of her explaining everything that was there when we could of just read it on the wall description ourselves. She was getting annoying going on and on and persistent on only following her to explain and talk about the items that was there. She kept saying she'll let us look around but she never did. I started to wander off and do my own thing I couldn't take it anymore. But when my father in law wanted to wander off and have a seat because his back was bothering him. She would stop and keep calling him to come back so she can keep talking. It felt like we were in boot camp and allowed to go where she says to go. We all just wanted check out the place and do our own thing. But Sherry is very passionate with the aviation life and the history of it, she got so caught up talking about it and not notice the boredom and disinterest we had of what she had to say. A couple of us try to tell her that we just going to look and do our own thing but she just talked over us and kept going. None of us had the heart to put our foot down and say " hey, just leave us alone and if we have questions we'll let you know." We had other places to be and left in the middle of her talking. We didn't expect to be there for a good 2 hours.
Amazing history and so many things to look at! What a treat to be able to touch and feel fighter planes!
Awesome, personal, and inexpensive educational museum where you can get up close and touch all the airplanes outside, after spending lots of time inside enjoying many fascinating displays spanning the time from before WWI to the present day. FWAM's primary focus areas are on the many aircraft connected to North TX (including such major companies as Lockheed, Consolidated, Vought, Convair, LTV, General Dynamics, etc.) as well as the Forward Air Control role, and the colossal B-36 Peacemaker, though it certainly is not limited to those areas. (The OV-10 Bronco Association runs the place, and the B-36 Peacemaker Association is involved too). There's an F-102 cockpit simulator for kids to try (and adults who remember how fun it is to be a kid), a bunch of really neat memorabilia and artifacts on display (B-58 parts, anyone? Or maybe an entire engine from a dirigible?) Adults and kids alike will find a lot here to marvel at. Outside (in the "Petting Zoo") there are lots of actual aircraft on display, which you are invited to get right up close to and touch. The ill-fated A-12 Avenger factory mockup is on display, as well as the original OV-10 Bronco factory mockup and 2 actual Broncos (1 USMC, 1 USAF). Other aircraft types on display include the F-4, F-5, F-8, F-14, F-18, TF-102, F-105, F-111, A-4, A-7, O-1, O-2, OV-10, B-36 (well, the propellers and wheels... they're huge!), CH-53, AH-1, PT-26, T-33, and T-37, with even more aircraft on the way. The museum has an active program to continually restore and maintain the aircraft, so you can often see one or a few aircraft being cleaned, disassembled, repaired, or painted. (If you ever wanted to help out with such a project, they certainly welcome the help, and the stories of some of these guys and gals are well worth the time!) The museum is staffed by friendly folks with quite a bit of enthusiasm, knowledge, and stories to share. The folks who run this place are serious about bringing the amazing history of the local aviation industry to life, and inspiring kids to learn and be a part of it. Bring yourself and the kids for a great time that everyone will enjoy, and which won't break the bank. It is truly a must-visit kind of place if you have even the tiniest shred of interest in aviation, military history, technology, or Texas history. Just go!
Anything less then a 5 star is crazy. This place is awesome. So much great American history. Everyone who works there is extremely polite and informative. Thank you for giving us a terrific piece of history. The F14 is awesome!
Scott is a great guide, very knowledgeable.
This is a must see. We were offered a guided tour. Our guide was great he took the time to explain the history that was interesting and enjoyable. Even my young kids got to sit in the seat of a simulator, our guide did an awesome job keeping us all engaged and excited. My kids can't wait to go back.
Very interesting. My little one has a fun time looking at all the planes in person. Would recommend!
I love planes and the Fort Worth Aviation Museum has many great ones. Love the F-4!
High flying
Great place good people highly recommended
This is probably one of the best aviation museums I've been too, accidentally.... My hubs and I were driving down the road and just happened upon this awesome place, turned around and decided to come back the next day. We were able to walk around, thru and get up close and personal with some of the coolest machines ever invented (my opinion). Definitely a place to see again and recommed to others.
Many of the outdoor static displays need work, but the artifacts indoors are outstanding.
Great place
Great information and the volunteers are passionate about the planes!
Very interesting!
Awesome assortment of planes
Such an amazing piece of aviation history in Fort Worth. The men and women that run this are so knowledgeable and go above and beyond
Interesting place to visit if you are an aviation buff or an 11 year old kid. Plan to spend 1-2 hrs there, more if you are a fanatic.
Great selection of planes and a very helpful staff.
They have some really cool vintage war planes here. including one of the actual airframes seen in TOP GUN. They also have some B-36 relics. It is reasonably priced and my kiddos loved it!
Great place!
(Translated by Google) There I work. Very beautiful airport (Original) Ahi trabajo.muy bello aeropuerto
Fun for kids and adults.
I love going to this museum. The permanent collection is lovely and always nice to look at. The traveling collections are always awesome. The museum has programs/activities available during the summer for kids and adults. The best part about the museum is that it is free to the community to experience all types of art and subjects
Great volunteers to answer questions
Great personnel service. Family oriented
Amazing place! This is a nonprofit organization so they rely on our donation to keep this museum running. You'll see an airplane flown by our former president George Bush, Sr. The plane flown by Tom Cruise in Top Gun and many more. The gentlemen that work here are veterans of war and have flown some of these planes. I invite anyone to come and learn about not only the planes but of the lives of the people that have risked it all in the name of Freedom.
Excellent place to visit
This place is new to the Fort Worth area in recent years. I don't remember seeing this place here while I grew up in Fort Worth. Great staff that works here and friendly. Nice gift shop too. For the price and viewing of the aircraft they have is not a bad deal. They even have some veterans in the building explaining to the kids about what the gadgets mean and do while being a pilot in the cockpit. They even inspired my daughter to become a pilot. Explained to all my kids what it takes to become a pilot. The museum is worth coming to view and see. I definitely want to come back to get some souvenirs next time. Parking is on a private lot or you can park in the street in front of the entrance. Easily to navigate to from I35 or 820.
Great place for people of all ages
Put in work...looks like a cool place to visit with the old aircraft and the stories the staff have about all the aircraft is amazing..highly recommend visiting this place and learn about the aircraft and the missions they were sent to carry out
Nice small museum.
A place to get a close up look at war birds that have been put out of service. Great way to spend an afternoon..
The people that work here are so nice and so great with kids!
Joe gave us a tour and he was very knowledgeable about our Aviation history. Not too mention his own experiences. Pretty incredible to know that so much history is packed into this place!
Awesome place. Great way to spend an afternoon. So many great planes.
Very cool! My new favorite place.
Amazing, little-known gem of a museum!! Well worth the visit even if you're only barely into vintage aircraft, plan on at least 2-3 hours. Staffed by veteran pilots and airframe builders with amazing first-hand stories.
非常接触体验。这里完全是志愿者在热情奉献。有很多飞机。
We took our 3 year old grandson & he was thrilled with all the planes. He loved getting inside a few & touching all the buttons
As an aviation buff, I am very impressed with this museum. The staff are knowledgable and friendly. In side they have several cool displays, and outside are some awesome aircraft with a a rich history. I'll certainly be back here.
Very detailed indoor displays, very cool actual planes that you can touch outside!
Took my friend and her niece and nephew went on a groupon and didn't know how great this place is so close to home recommend this place for families and very inexpensive
Know more aviation
Really cool planes and friendly staff.
Awesome museum. So much to see and look at. The planes are amazing. Someone can walk you around and give you history.
Spent a Sunday here and had a lot of fun. We are very lucky to have such a fine display of aircraft in Fort Worth.
The best bang for your money to see military planes.
One of Fort Worth's best kept secrets. Walk freely amongst the decommissioned planes and helicopter's. Kid friendly. Great history! A small museum inside with lots of great local history about the air force base, and the part played in wars and aviation.
Really neat place!
My son and I had the best time learning about our military aviation history together. Our guide was so knowledgeable and personable. This place is a treasure for those of us that love to learn about our great military and incredible history. We brought a picnic and sat at the picnic tables they have on site. What a wonderfully relaxing way to end a perfect day at a cool place. Thank you volunteers for all you do and the joy you give out. And thank you for a great day with my family. Affordable and convenient location that is one of a kind. The people that volunteer there make the place what it is, a perfect day in our city!
Thank you for sharing your space with the Fort Worth Phoenix Composite Civil Air Patrol squadron!
Love this place...alot of history here and love the pieces they have.. including planes and helicopters
They are very friendly and helpful! Me and my fiancé enjoyed our experience!
I really enjoyed being able to touch the exhibits. However, the docents (volunteers) really make this place come alive. I was surprised to read a review from someone who thought the guides talked to much. I met three guys who actually flew these museum pieces on active duty or in combat. You may be looking at a static display. But when they talk, the aircraft come to life.
A suprising amount of history here glad i stopped by
I like the airplane museum this problem is my partner never took me but when I saw what do the fence it looks like a pretty good place to go to I like to go to but my partner doesn't want to take me and his name is Billy Donald Roberts
B36 propellers, helicopters and lots of other cool stuff
We had a wonderful time learning about all the different airplanes and the aviation history of Fort Worth.
My boys loved it here and I must admit I also enjoyed it! We got stuck in the gift shop and came out with a ton lucky admission isn’t that expensive! Good summer activity!
Very educational
I can’t imagine how this museum could get anything less then 5 Stars. Great planes and awesome staff.
A cool place to spend the afternoon.
Fort Worth Aviation Museum is a Fort Worth Treasure. Located conveniently just off North Main Street a stone's throw from the Stockyards, if you are visiting Fort Worth or live here, you owe it to yourself and your family to stop by. Great for both the true enthusiast and the casually interested looking for an activity to do with the kids. You will be warmly welcomed and the experience will be a memorable one.
Totally awesome experience. It's an amazing place for the family and a great place to know about the history of the fort worth aviation history.
Very cool LITTLE museum. They have military aircraft from post WWII eras, and a few helicopters too. The staff is all volunteer (and wonderful) and it's $10 per family to visit. It's a hidden little gem.
Great experience my sons and I had a blast. I highly recommend this place.
Great place to go to learn about aviation. Really great staff. Great selection of planes and history.
Nice little afternoon fun with the kids. The best museum for aviation is AirVentur in Oshkosh Wisconsin
So much history for my kids
Great place to take the family!
Very small museum but its got its niches in regards to certain eras and plane types. They also have some planes and artifacts that i've never seen in even larger collections like an F-102 or one off mock ups like the A-12 concept. They also have some incredible original models in the interior part.
If you want to touch and see all kinds of war planes then this is the place!
Great selection of planes
If you are an aviation fanatic this is the place for you. Love this place!
The kids had fun
Easy to find, alot of history facts
I like this place.
We went here for a great experience and we came out with smiles on our faces. The staff is so incredible especially the lady at the merch shop/front desk.
For a small museum this place is packed with aviation history. Their " petting zoo " is phenomenal IMHO. Getting as close as you care to their fabulous array of aircraft is a great personal joy that any aviation buff will enjoy.
I just like fighter jets man
Always fun to walk around and see the planes, and the money for your entrance is going to a great cause. Everyone that works there is a volunteer who is passionate or a retired vet. Any aviation enthusiast will enjoy.
Woooowww awesome place
I liked it
I loved it and I was very impressed
Very good for aviation enthusiastic
Great place to visit
Reasonable price. We got a family rate (not listed on the website) of $10 total for 4 adults, 1 kid. Guides were very knowledgeable. My son loved the simulator inside and the huge helicopter that people can get in outside.
Good way to spend an hour or two with your kids. The price is fair for what you get. The planes are really cool, but my kids found the inside a bit boring. I kept them in there trying to kill time since it wasn't that big and I wanted to get my money's worth :)
Great history and gorgeous F-14. Great owner who was an RF-4 AVIATOR who enjoys educating you.
(Translated by Google) Very nice museum of warplanes (Original) Muy bonito museo de aviones de guerra
Great place.
lots of history stored rhere
Great selection of planes.
Informative and friendly staff. Ask questions and learn something new at a budget friendly price.
Took a road trip for the hops and props event. Completely worth it! Fun event and flying on the c-47, southern cross, was amaxing!
Great looking collection of some significant aircraft. The F-111 from Upperheaford AFB in the UK, my father actually flew that aircraft.
Awesome display of aircraft. The guided tour is excellent.
Pretty cool, definitely worth visiting when we went to the air show. Great live entertainment and cold drinks. Excellent shuttle service from your vehicle
Staffs are friendly and informative....
It's not a large museum per set but the low cost and the people are what make it great. The cost for a whole family is only $10 which is more than reasonable. They also provide a curated tour at no additional cost. I have two boys and they enjoyed seeing the planes up close. There's a couple of exhibits that let you go inside too them too which is really neat. I think it's a great museum for anyone remotely interested in aviation should visit. It's definitely family friendly too!
The coolest collection of planes and the most helpful staff.
We are huge fans of the Fort Worth Aviation Museum! Awesome selection of planes! The guided tours are highly recommended.
Awesome selection of planes and very informative staff.
Amazing collection of planes
Fun place to go
A lot of history here. Just not a very big place
Great collection
This a small place but its cute a good place to take the little ones when you want to have family time. If you are into the history of the planes ask for the best tour guide because its worth it. One of the planes were used in the movie top gun so thays interesting
What an amazing place. A good museum of the history of aviation and aircraft production in Ft. Worth, all sorts of planes you can get right up to, and something really special- the factory mockup A-12 Avenger. The guides are very helpful and knowledgeable. Go spend some time there!
Love it :)
Great place for kids and adults.
Very great place, drove all the way from Northern Kentucky! Definitely would recommend it.
We really enjoyed our visit. The staff was kind and friendly. The place was very fascinating, especially the outside part. The place is also cost friendly for big families.
Fun family trip. Very helpful and informitive.
Like military jets, or don't go.
Very quaint museum!!
Had a great time looking at all the different air craft they had. Especially the F-111.
I spent an entire afternoon at the museum. It was incredible. So much fun. Great planes.
Very interesting
This is a great museum, especially for the price. The best part is all the different aircraft outside that you get to see. It is staffed by volunteers who are knowledgeable and very friendly.
Interesting place. They have many aircraft outside building to view. The museum itself is very small and took us about 30 mins to view. Friendly staff.
I'd give it 10 stars if I could. Such a nice display of planes.
I enjoy learning about military aviation, and this venue is very intimate to do just that.
The air crafts are very interesting. The museum inside is packed with so much information as well. The also have volunteer's that know these war birds and the history behind them. Very family friendly. I want to go back when I have more time to read the information they have inside the museum. It's only 10 dollars per family. That's so awesome.
Great museum.
Small museum but nice. Were a few gentleman there that lived through it all, that had great stories.
This was an awesome place for our ten year old twin boys to explore everything aviation. The museum is well done, including a nice area about the pilot Carswell, for whom the nearby base is named. The yard is full of planes and helicopters, some of which you can go in or through. Burned off energy and engaged curiosity. Nicely done!
A small Museum with a wealth of information and planes. This was a great experience and would love to come back.
Great place to visit, friendly staff, lots of great air planes to look at and read about
Its ok not as good as the vintage avation Museum right down the street
Great selection of planes
Every American needs to visit and bring family & friends. The BEST!
Great friendly staff.
An awesome place if you love planes and great stories.
Had a great time and it was a great learning experience.
