Truly a great experience right in our back yard. It was humbling to watch the video and explore the area around the historic home and feel like you were transported back a few decades. If you ever want to get out of DFW and explore true American history, this is a great place to start.

Was a lovely unexpected historical place to visit. The lady at the visitor's center was very friendly and knowledgeable. Enjoyed the short video and the well put together displays.

Nice quiet location. There is no fee to walk around the location. Great for those who enjoy photography. However, if you would like to visit the inside of the house, there is a small fee. If you find yourself visiting this location, make sure to go and check out Eisenhower State Park. You will enjoy checking this historic propery out.

The best of all was how knowledgeable was the guide person. The Administration/Goverment needs to do a better effort to build a better story and museum about that historic landmark.

A wonderful place to visit. We had no idea that President Eisenhower was born in Denison, Texas. The tour of his boyhood home was educational and quite interesting.

Kelly Thompson

It was a nice small museum with a large outdoor area. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable on President Eisenhower's life and the life of his family. It's a nice way to spend a couple of hours.

Kristen Northcutt

A very beautiful and well kept historical site

Matha Goram

Was passing through and did the detour on a whim. Well maintained facilities that merit a walkthrough. I hope that the next generation or two will sustain the maintenance of the facilities connected to the leader of very, very special persons, many of whom gave their lives so that we could enjoy the longest peacetime in centuries.

Sherri Nelson

Great place to remember a great man.

Amy Z

Very nice and rather inexpensive tour.

I liked the tour guide, he was nice and knew a lot about Eisenhower. The houses themselves were really cool and they looked great. The main house has a lot of neat graphics and information about Eisenhower.

It's free unless you want the tour of the birthhouse. Tour for 5 was $10 family price. Tour guide was a 10. She was very informative and enthusiastic.

Cheryl Lynn West, Master Instructor CHA

Great knowledgeable guide with lots of info. Nicely done. Video short and to the point. My 14 year old son liked it.

Sherry Wingate

Hubby and I are history enthusiasts. We didn't get a tour with the history given but we did get to walk around the grounds and see everything.

Cross County Travelers

Go for the Eisenhower history, leave educated about life in the early 1900's in Texas. This place has some amazing tour guides who are very knowledgeable and excited to share it with their guests. You will find the actual house President Eisenhower was born in, a museum about his life, and a very beautiful setting. There is a $4.00 tour fee, but otherwise it is free to visit the grounds and museum.

Great history

Matt Cross

Very informative! Only thing you have to pay for is the tour thru the actual house but the furniture is just replicas of what was used in that era.

Abby Rosenthal

This was ..interesting and worth the stop..but I got the feeling that they were sort of stretching a bit with the Eisenhower connection . I mean, he was born there, yeah..but left when he was one. He didn't have any recollection of Texas at all. It wasn't until decades later this women's historical society saved the house and incited him for the opening of it. I mean, I'm glad I went...but the connection was a little tenuous.

Becky Small

Eric Wilbourn

If you are a fan of of history, this is a great place to visit. Our former president lived here briefly as a child, and the house is recreated as if in that time. The staff here is very knowledgeable and has all sorts of trivia. It is a good way to spend 30 minutes if you are a history buff.

Michael Yeo

A very nice place to remember a great President. They kept the grounds immaculate. We didn't go for the tour, but did watch the 7 minute video, which was very informative. Did you know he was in Dennison for only 18 months of his life? Yupp. A must go, definitely a hidden gem.

Nancy Eckert

Would have lime to your the house, walked all the way to it and you can not go in. The film at visitor center was great.

I was driving through from my trip to Arkansas, back to Dallas, and in a previous drive to the east coast I had planned to visit Eisenhower National Historic Site where he lived the last years of his life in Gettysburg, PA. So many times I had driven past Denison though was always too tired from driving, and I couldn't pass by this time and not see some of it, so I have uploaded some photos.

This is a neat little piece of history worth visiting. The tour is short, but worth the $4. The visitor center has a decent video to watch and displays.

Kate Saling

Take a tour and check out the gift shop! A fun way to learn more about Denison and Ike.

Terri McBride

This is a great historical gem. The staff here are very knowledgeable and friendly. The welcome center has a lot of pictures spanning Ike's life and a short video of his life and when he came back to Denison after WWII. We spent about an hour visiting the welcome center, taking the guided tour of the house, and the grounds. This site is also very easy to get around. The town of Denison is also interesting and worth visiting. If this review was helpful to you, please give it a like.

Really nice place to stop by and visit for a bit. We just parked and were able to walk around the area. However we weren’t actually able to go inside the house. It was free for us to walk around, but I believe they offer tours at a low price.

It's awesome that this part of American history has been saved for all to see. As a women in 2019 I am amazed at what the living conditions were in 1890. How hard it was to take care of a family and a home.

Deidre Yuknavich

Very pretty place. Quiet and peaceful.

This site has a lot of information on Preside t Eisenhower. The house he was born in is kept up really well too. It would have been nice to see some items in the house that was used by his parents, but they do have items from the 1890's which is really nice. The office has a few pamphlets on other sites you can visit as well.

Mac L Fitzgerald Jr

Wow! What a most interesting historic site nestled away in the small quiet town of Denison, TX within an even more quiet and isolated corner of the the town. The grounds are very well maintained within beautiful flowing manicured lawns and simple well detailed gardens.
