Ok...here’s a very strange Route 66 attraction - the Devil’s Rope Museum, which pays tribute to barbed wire! This place is quite amazing...who knew there were so many different types of razor wire?

Selene rodriguez

Wow! Quite a collection of ranching / tool memorabilia and more. We spent a couple of hours (and could have spent more if time had permitted) browsing the well-organized, informative exhibits. Highly recommended!

Loved this place. I didnt expect it to be as cool as it was. But it was seriously very neat. Had 3 seperate museums. 1 was really little about the great depression but still very informative. The other museums were a Barbed wired and a route 66 Museum. They had a lot of information at each of them. And ALL OF IT WAS FREE!!!

This place is a National Treasure. It's free but more importantly it is a treasure trove of information and entertaining displays. Bring the kids. And please, put a dollar or two in the donation jar, you won't be sorry. LOVED IT!!!!

Vik D.

Very interesting Worth a stop on Route 66 The girl that works there was very informative It's donation based

Jay Weaver

I learned a lot about barbed wire and the history of the dust bowl. This is worth your time to visit when on Route 66.

Angelo F.

If you're going to do Route 66 then you need to stop and see this when you stop to see the other Museum in the same town. Would recommend going in the morning as they do not have air conditioning but the history on barbed wire is all there. The two museums in this town run on donations be sure just put three to five bucks toward the continuation of keeping the history alive

Kathy Lee

Fantastic museum.

So I did read the reviews of how they were closed until March. Well it is may after 9am here and the place is still not open. Not sure if they look at when their peak season is for business to open it or maybe they feel not too many people come early. If that is the case then they need to update the hours online if they will be open later on during the day. I would have love to get information/insight on this place.

Laura Sands

Very interesting. This place needs our support. Route 66 is our history and without us it will just fade away.

Been here 4 times. Once, unfortunately, they were closed - our fault as we arrived at about 2:00AM and slept in the parking lot. Last time I saw it was 4 years ago. It was a sad time as we were riding out motorcycles along I-40 and everyone was too intent on motoring than stopping here. I looked to the left while riding and swore I could see the building. But the times that I have actually been inside were outstanding. Great souvenirs of Route 66. Great selection of books. It's the only place where I have seen the book for sale, "Route 66 - The Mother Road."

Ron Hornsby

If you're interested in barbed wire, it's very informative, but only a little bit of information about Rt. 66

Lynn Ceraldi

Who knew that there is a barbwire collectors association! If you ever wondered about the west, ranching and Barb Wire, this is a must see place. And it's free!

Janis RB

Ok, it was closed, but I was able to see inside. It is closed Jan -Mar. Loved it

Geri Linda Metterle

Exilerating to see the old Burma Shave signs. So many were lost over time. Barbed wire was more interesting than l imagined. Top it off wih fun, articulate and polite members, a great experience! Oh, and clean bathrooms available.!

Jim Wellborn

Great place to tour very interesting, young lady at desk very friendly and helpful a pleasure to talk with

This museum is a real gem on old route 66, and its free! There are so many aspects to ranching that I, a Pennsylvanian, was unaware of. There is even a section that is dedicated to barbed wire in war. The areas that interested me the most were the room on the Dust Bowl era, the variety of ways to install barbed wire and the witty tidbits of information there for the reading. This is not a professionally done museum so if you come expecting that you'll be disappointed. It is rustic and fun and really worth a stop. P.s.There is also a suprizingly good and afordable gift shop.

A must see when traveling through that area.

Lots to look at and it's all free. They do have a little souvenir shop and they had really cheap prices compared to other places we saw. Lots of hands on exhibits, good place to check out some history

Callan Griffiths

Cool museum with a lot of history. Never knew that barbed wire could be so fascinating. Free to get in but donations are appreciated.
