Visited DMA to to see the Dior Exhibit. It is Exquisite, everything I imagined it would be and then some. It even exceeded my expectations. There were lovely Gown's, Coat's, Shoe's, Purse's, Glove's, Hat's, Earring's, Necklace's, Bracelet's, Pin's Crown's, Tiara's, Helmet's, Armor, Chainmail, Dresses, Cocktail Dresses, Evening Dresses, Day Dresses, Pant Suits, After Five Jacket and Trouser Set's, Jewelry to match each outfit, Hat's for most outfits, Glove's and Scarf's, Belt's, Shoe's or Boot's, anything a Fashion Forward Woman could ask for. There were even Beautiful "Doll" Clothes with all the accessories, from Jewelry to Sun Shades, Shoe's to Purse's, Fur's to Coat's. They had it all, even the Dresses made for their Clientele. From the color palette of the "Doll" clothe's. The "Doll" clothe's served as samples to take homes of Clients that did not come into the Showroom to see New Line's Debut. They were much easier to take to the Client's home this way. And, so much more, this is the Thrid showing of the Exhibit - the first two back in the Summer being sold out. This event is one of the more enjoyable exhibits I have viewed lately.

Wonderful place! larger than expected, we so enjoined that we bought an annual pass. very clean and modern.

Stephanie De Leon

What a wonderful day!!! Make sure you have $15 for parking though. Went on a weekday and it was not to crowded. Beautiful layout and an amazing date night. Lots of places to sit as well because this place is HUGE!!!

I am from Europe and have seen a lot of great art and was so pleasantly surprised to visit Dallas art museum. Canaletto, Van Gogh, Monet , Turner , Picasso , Asian art. It has such a high quality collection Displayed in a very spacious and tasteful backdrop. It has changed my opinion if Texas

Lawrence Cole

Enjoyable visit. Many things to see. Gave it a four star and not a five as it did not rate tops when compared to all our museum experiences. We did buy the annual membership and to return to learn and see more. Also get free parking with the membership.

Aysen Abdulkarim

Fun place to learn, appreciate and discover the arts from around the world. Many different fascinating exhibits organized by location and/or era. Great place to bring the family to unwind and stretch their legs, while learning something new. There's something for all ages, even a kids area to create their own masterpieces.

Grace Koshida

Eclectic collections. Free general admission. Especially liked the Ancient Americans exhibit.

LAURA NARRO GALICIA

I went to the Dior exhibition and the pieces were beautifully arranged. The personal were not informative or so friendly, they were just standing there talking among themselves and telling us to not get too close to stands even when we were super conscious about our moves. It would have been perfect if it was a more interactive and guided tour. I've been in museums where they really welcome visitors and offer a memorable experience in every single exhibition.

Erik Haffenden

This place is wonderful! Free general admission, wonderful pieces, and a great way to get out of the heat for a while. They have paintings, relics, and sculptures from just about every ethnic background in the world. We ended up spending site a few hours here just to take it all in. I highly recommend going if you're in town.

Rup Yonzan Lama

Nice people wish I had more time to spend there

Dubs Media

Vast museum with lots of spacing between displays of art. Easy to maneuver on a Friday afternoon. Can't beat the cost of free general admission.

Richard Gaspar

Nice place an excellent art exhibits. Although fort Worth seems to have more of the big ones. Parking underneath is nice.

Christine Dong

Not the largest museum, but very interesting exhibits. Good place to spend 2 hours.

Kayla Romero

It was really nice of your into ancient history. I went with my husband. It was so big we got tired and bored. So I wouldn't bring small kids. We didn't finish the tour. But otherwise it was very unique.

Cynthia Patschill

This place is so beautiful. Free to get in, just have to pay for parking! It’s ginormous so expect to be there for hours!

Haidi Rodriguez

A wonderful place to spend a peaceful afternoon at. So many interesting art pieces and exhibits. Admission is also free, I would highly recommend!

Sue Brush

Loved the "Dior" exhibit. So interesting & beautiful. We also got a sandwich at the cafe. Food was good.

Danielle B

This was a beautiful experience! I really enjoyed the peace and calm atmosphere. I went on a Wednesday afternoon and spent a few hours on property just taking in all the art, reading the descriptions of the exhibits. It was not busy at this time so I was able to enjoy space and take my time. It was free to get in and had an option to upgrade to the featured exhibit. I will say they will ask you to check your back pack if you have one. (I'm not sure if they charge, I don't believe so) The only thing you have to worry about would be parking costs, otherwise a very inexpensive day with friends in Dallas or a date. The cafe located inside the museum has lots of fresh options, along with wine, beer and Starbucks coffee.

Deanna Van Besien-Kozacek

The re-done Modern collection is spectacular! With so many of the pieces from McDermott collection now on view, it was awesome!!!

Heather Robinson

There is so much beautiful art here. I’m not very into the the artifacts, silverware, or sculptures, but the paintings were gorgeous. We loved that they had such a cultural array of works. The museum is also very well staffed in every section in case you ever have any questions.

Shay Arnold

We only had an hour and a half but it was worth the time spent. Had to rush the last little bit but everything was so fabulous. Degas, Rodin, Picasso's, Monet, and so much more. Wish we could have seen the Dior exhibit but we were too late.

Chi Vu

Large, pleasing interior. Very clean and modern. It'll take you a few hours to really examine the place. Certain exhibitions will sell out quickly, so be vigilant and reserve online ahead of time if you happen to learn of a cool exhibition!

Aletha Williams

First off.. Bravo on your Christian Dior exhibit ! Very well done! This is one of my favorite museums to visit! Parking is expensive, so try to find a place on the street!

Kai Turner

Great and informational place but it was a bit difficult to navigate around the place.

Jeremiah Wenzel

Wonderful art museum! My friend recommended me here, and it was great to tour. I enjoy art, and just being able to walk around and check out the art was peaceful. There are a lot of interesting pieces! It is free to get in which is the best part. I think this would be an awesome spot to take a date as well.

Yashwant Pratap Kharwar

Very informative, I liked the indian culture they kept in art gallery

Chuck Hitt

This place is an absolute delight to visit. I go once a year when I am in town. The permanent collection is remarkable and the exhibitions that they have had here are exceptional. I wish I had more adjectives to describe how good this place is. Maybe I should buy a thesaurus? Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Excellent guest shop.

Sabrina Henson

Absolutely amazing. Be prepared to WALK, it's huge. There are elevators so if you are in a wheelchair or are pushing a stroller it's no hassle.

Derick Snow

Free culture and art? Yes please. Lots to see. We went to the optional (not free) Dior exhibition and it really made use of the large and small spaces to tell a story. For the most part the staff were also helpful and professional and even helped us take a group photo.

Michael Shive

A huge museum with rotating and permanent galleries. Easy to spend 3+ hrs pursing the collections of fine art, historical artifacts, furniture and photographs. I'd recommend multiple visits to really see it all

Shutterbug. dean

I like that the museum has garage parking. While it's pricey, it has plenty of parking and it's nice to be weather protected all year round in Tx. The museum feels very big and open with various rooms of exhibits. If the map doesn't help the people working there are friendly and will give you pointers on what to see. Their special exhibits are nice and they try to keep people moving along when they see the need. They also try to lead organized observing with dividing ropes. The cafe is a large open space with natural light and lots of sitting space. I haven't tried the food there so I can't comment on any of that.

Shan

It was a great experience that was free! Beautiful art inside!! They had a Christian Dior exhibit but had to pay extra for that which was ok. Sold out when we were there, so cant comment directly on that. The only thing is the staff are overly pushy. You have to check your bags (free), cant wear anything on your back, a purse has to be carried in front of you, cant have any water or food etc. Walking from the entrance down the hall to the other end to the coat check we were stopped by 4 or 5 employees telling us we had to check our bags... which is where we were headed. Otherwise the art work was beautiful. There was one employee who spent more time explaining the art (Valuable) then complaining your standing too close or move your purse etc. He was great. Thanks Dallas!

J Carlock

Great galleries and exhibits for all ages! A very nice family venue.

Ren Love

My favorite place in Dallas. I loce it so much. I recommend attending a late night every 3rd Friday...their food is surprisingly good which I didnt expect from a museum

Denise Giovinazzo

Lovely and beautifully displayed art exhibits. Staff was super friendly always making suggestions. Was there for Dior exhibit but enjoyed the entire space!

Annette Daffron

DIOR exhibit was outstanding! Visited the Gallery of Decorative Arts and saw a beautiful Caravaggio.

Rinku Kalita

Free of cost, wonderful place to spend. Weekend day. No food or drink allowed. Tickets for Dior gallery. 4 floors, a creative area for kids at ground floor. Mediterranean , Indian American, African, Asian etc all kinds of arts and paintings from the past. Worth the time, takes whole day. Kids and photography allowed. No flashes in cameras allowed.

Sandra Diaz

We took the kids while on vacation and we all had a good time. Plenty to see and kid friendly. And the plus is that most of the museum is free to the public. Love this!

Jay Betts

I had the absolute best time going through the museum! There was an amazing one of a kind Door exhibit that was out of this world!

Ray Olan

Incredible journey through artists lives and their work... pleasant and knowledgeable staff... Loved it again ..

J. Collin Wright

Loved it! Free to go and a great cafe. Loads of variety and very open. Will be going again

Aaron Henley

The biggest joke in Dallas. My wife had tickets to the Dior exhibit that told her to get there early. They wouldn’t let us park because we got there early so we had to park over a mile away and walk in the heat. The tickets said to get there EARLY!!! Then when we got there my sons and I were made to sit outside because we didn’t have tickets. We just wanted to sit in the cooler air, not go through the museum or anything. Just get out of the heat. I guess this is how Dallas welcomes visitors from out of state.

C Pipher

Such a beautiful building a perfect place to get away from the noise of the city. Went to enjoy the Dior exhibit and am thankful I did. Amazing. And the pieces of historically famous paintings is unbelievable! Take your time here, have lunch, enjoy.

Erik Anderson

Looks like it's a decent museum, but the entire second level, which contains the European exhibits and was what I wanted to see, was closed. Kind of a bummer. There was what looked to be a pretty nice Dior exhibit there, if that's how kind of thing.

Avery Fain

Visits to the DMA do not disappoint as the DMA offers great rotating exhibits and has a knowledgeable staff. Set aside an entire day to visit- After viewing the exhibits, you can exit out the main doors to the Klyde Warren Park and food truck yard, offering fun for all levels of intellectual or stimuli quest.

Kaylee Nguyen

Absolutely love this place! We’ve been coming here for years. They always have fantastic exhibits that are free to the public and special exhibits as well. They also have a lot of events inspired by the artist on exhibit, for example, the make and take event inspired by Jonas Wood where people were given 6x6 canvas and paint and create their own artwork. Late night at the museum events are always fun too! Highly recommend for the whole family!

Everyone Deserves Happiness

If you love art and its history from around the world, this museum will be perfect for you! The exhibits are extraordinary and the museum will be a fun, enjoyable time. Admission is free and the workers are helpful and friendly.

Jason Mikhaiel

Great museum, free admission to the general museum part. The Dior exhibit required a ticket. Highly recommend.

Scott Cooper

Just got back from the Dior exhibition and it was incredible. The staff and docents were great, and the rest of their collection was top notch. A little something for everyone

Susan Clark

I went to see the Christian Dior exhibit and it was fantastic! The employees were friendly and helpful. It is a $20 admission fee, but the exhibit was incredible. I went during the week so it was not busy at all and I probably spent two hours, which was not advised but no one bothered me. A gentleman I was talking with said it was incredibly busy another day he came, so try to go at an off time. I parked near the museum and it was $10. That's probably one of the most difficult parts is finding a good place to park that is inexpensive. It was worth it for me though because it was a short walk to the museum.

Eddie Melvin

I enjoy the traveling shows, events, food, space and membership benefits. But something's missing...

Andrea Richards

A real treasure for Dallas. So much to see! We visited the Dior exhibit...just breathtaking!

Wendy Johnson

The Dallas Museum is one of the places I would add to my Top-10 list of things to do. We were fortunate enough to be there during The Dior: From Paris to the World Exhibit. This museum has a large variety of cultural enlightenment. There are many exhibit's to see and explore the various cultures. There is also a children's area to express their creativity.

Chris Lazarus

Great collection! Need much more time to see it. Attended a members only event with Bollywood theme..lots of fun.

Corban Garcia

Amazing collection of art. There's something for everyone here.

Josh Gooch

I love Art of all kinds and Dallas Museum of Art is amazing

Maria Curtis

Great selection with a good quiet atmosphere for sketching! Also could be a great place for a date ;)

Kayla Nicole

The Visitors by Ragnar Kjartansson is a must see! One of the most beautiful things I’ve ever experienced.

Heather Nakamura

Not enough people visit the museums today. I highly recommend on your stay-cations you check this place out. Friendly and cultured.

Steven Briggs

I enjoyed my trip to the DMA this past weekend. I saw Ragnar's "The Visitors" and spent over an hour just in that room. The only reason for dropping a star is that I couldn't find any flyer or information telling me where to find The Visitors. I walked around the facility twice, asked 3 people, and finally found someone I happened to know that knew where it was. As it ended up, one of the people I originally asked was standing right in front of the door to where the exhibit was yet sent me back across the building to ask at the main information desk. Bottom line: if you're wearing a DMA shirt, you should know where the various exhibits are located.

Shannon Taylor

Great place to visit with friends. They have a coat, bag, and umbrella check. Free admission unless it's a special exhibit. We spent hours here and they have a nice cafe when your feet need a break. Parking is available at the underground garage, so definitely look for the signs.

zack hartman

The museum is gorgeous and so serene with some of the best layouts I’ve ever seen. Employees are helpful and knowledgeable and if you’re interested will give you some great information about the artists and time period. Will absolutely be back again.

Miguel de la Rocha

One of the best museums I have been at with interesting pieces to appreciate and learn from. Have brought family and friends and all of them have enjoyed it. Always check their special exhibitions if you get the chance!

Valley Cooks

Much larger than I expected, we liked it so much we bought an annual pass. Which is a great value, as it includes parking and multiple exhibit tickets. The exhibitions are very well done and are worth the additional price. However, the standard collections are free. The opening night band for the Dior exhibit was very good. The patios are also nice. Great visit.

Desiah Blakely

I have been several times and still have not see it all. U can spend the day here forreal

Justin Holt

Staff were very informative and the exhibits were beautiful. It's a great way to spend an afternoon. The cafe had great food!

j. pecina

We came for the Dior exhibition. I bought tickets online because they were timed. Upon arrival we paid $15 to park in garage. Neat experience overall. Everyone was nice and pointed is the right direction. As you walk in there's a cafe and store. I like the entrance design as they have some seating to wait and it's a drive up to pickup or drop off.

Justin Liu

Parking is a bit expensive at 15 dollars for parking in the garage but it is really nice to be able to go up the elevators and be 10 feet away from the entrance to the museum. Speaking of the actual museum, it's amazing. So many artworks from all around the world and through so many time periods. The sculpture garden is also really elegant and well maintained and also, it's FREE. Aside from some special exhibits, you can go view all the artwork and sculptures for free. This is how all museums should be imho.

Nab H

Well the European art was under renovation and so was the sculpture garden. I was hoping some of the other areas would have new exhibitions from my previous trip a few years back. Great exhibition of Christian Dior though price is high at $25.

Georges

A great place to visit. Very friendly staff and a lovely building. Very interesting exhibitions depending on the period. Also a great outdoors area with some cool artworks and installations !!!

Leslye Bibbs

Went for the Dior exhibit. Nicely organized group tour times, got in ahead of our scheduled ticket time, and could browse the exhibit for as long as we liked (average time spent is about 45 minutes to an hour). Docents were friendly and knowledgeable. Great gift shop! I will definitely be coming back here for another exhibit in the future!

Julia Wilkerson

One of the best places to check out in Dallas. Huge free museum right next to a beautiful park on downtown. Must stop

Nick Kiefer

I love the DMA I would come here every day if I could.

Chris Chastain

Such a cool place to spend your day. Lots of great artists and tons of history to learn about. Take your time and see which pieces of art resonate with you. I always leave feeling extra creative, you still too!

Mark MacMullen

Special Dior display that is AMAZING. Art in the form of Haute Couture. Also a brand new French Romantic period art display. Just opened today. Absolutely beautiful.

Suzanne Cranford

In addition to it's fabulous year round art pieces, the DMA hosts touring exhibits. Currently, the Dior exhibit is the special event, and so worth seeing. The House of Dior, featuring designs and designers coming up through the decades, from the 1940's to current day. It's exquisite!

R Flores

A good place to spend half a day at on the cheap! Entrance is free to most exhibits. Conveniently located in the arts district, it is a must for art lovers. It also has a great collection of Native American and Mesoamerican artifacts and some American colonial pieces of furniture, etc. Great stuff!

Cyrus Baty

The Dallas Museum of Art is a must see destination. The rotating special exhibits bring evocative subjects to life. The permanent collections are worthy of numerous visits as you can't really take it all in at once...and there are favorites to return to such as in the American art galleries--O'Keefe, Church, Moran, and others. The café offers some great lunch choices but the food trucks along side Klyde Warren Park next door are totally accessible.

Aja Hopkins

My daughter and I enjoy visiting the DMA when we can. The first Tuesday of every month has special kid activities and the restaurant was way better than expected. It’s a fun break from the park and an enjoyable place to walk around and pass the time.

Elisa Arguello

Beautiful place to enjoy with the whole family. Wheelchair accessible, plenty restrooms, cafes and in & outdoor areas.

Black Label

I absolute love the Dallas Museum of art and am a member. It is one of my favorite art miseums. I even prefer it to the MET in New York. Love Thursdays with a twist and Late night Fridays. If you are visiting Dallas it is a "Must See."

LAURA BOOHER

Loved the Dior exhibit. DMA easy to access, lots of staff to assist in best viewing experience.

Erika McEwan

A labyrinthine immersion into art, ranging from all over the world. Free general admission. Definitely worth the visit if in downtown Dallas!

Brandon Pouncy

Wow! This place is the epicenter of the art capital of the nation! Just that sentence alone should have you intrigued to go here. Free of charge but full of knowledge. There were so many exhibits going on and there was only one that you had to pay for , but we spent 3 hours not even being able to get to that. Make sure you take a map and ask many of the people that are there to help around to make sure that you get to everything. It's so cool they have the types of art collections sectioned-off by country which I feel is very awesome and enriching. This is a great place to take your kids as well as art is sometimes deemed boring which I admit I think that sometimes myself but it is really cool to know your history and how are shapes us and where we get a lot of things from. Different countries bring different aspects of life that all culminate together as one! It's really deep when you think about it but just go to this Museum whether you're in Dallas visiting or you just want to get away and love art! Don't pass up the opportunity I'm sure glad I didn't. But I can definitely show you better than I can tell you so just go....RIGHT NOW! Don't want to give away too many pics to spoil it for you

CMONE WINGO

DIOR. Breathtaking! Go see this exhibit if it comes to your city. You won't be disappointed.

Nichole Ulibarri

Decent. Nice variation however... Small cages for the larger birds, fish and animals. Sad to see these animals so restricted in their movements. Very crowded even late in the day. Would have loved to see a more open atrium with a guide of possible birds to see rather than restrict cells. Signage is laminated paper for most “exhibits.”

Sara Hyde

I enjoyed this museum. A great blend of types, times, and locations. The staff were helpful. I would visit again next time I'm in town.

Kapil Gautam

Wonderful experience in DMA. It had a lot of amazing artifacts and had a section where you can create your art with pencils. I went to downtown for the first time in Texas, and it looked amazing in the night. All the high rising buildings like chase bank or others near DMA were so high that my neck began hurting looking at all the high buildings.

Hannah Kolkmeier

While I have enjoyed the DMA in the past, this particular visit made me want to never visit again. First of all, the parking is confusing and expensive ($15). And once we got into the line and up to the desk we realized that we misunderstood something about the Dior Collection (we didn't realize that the tickets had a time limit. And they sold out of tickets. Who does that!?) and the lady at the front desk was very rude about it. It was very uncalled for. Not ten minutes later my mother got baraided by a security guy about her purse not being held correctly. All the exhibits are scattered all over the place and no one could tell us where anything was. (Except for one very nice lady in the South America area!! She was helpful!) The map is not helpful at all. There was a weaving exhibit that we couldn't find and later realized it was just two walls worth of art (about 3 pieces). The lady who had her art there most definitely got stiffed! We wanted to see more! When you do finally find something to look at security follows you around like you're about to mess everything up. I most definitely wanted to leave the whole time. Not enjoyable, not fun, and probably not coming back. If you are looking for a nice afternoon of art, I recommend saving your pennies and going to the National Art Gallery in DC

Keller Whitlock

Love this museum! Not usually into art and this place has some magnificent pieces! I took my younger cousin and we spent a few hours exploring all the museum has to offer!

Andrea S.

The Dior exhibition was beautiful. It was very well done specially the last part in which they integrated the dresses and photograph with the paints. Thank you for bringing this exhibits to the South of the US

Joe Joe

Great place to learn art history. Has great exhibits. Great place to spend a day.

Lee Samson

Place is really beautiful. We had an amazing family time here, convenient garage parking.

Kim Sorrelle

What a fantastic Art Museum! I want for the Dior exhibit oh, it was absolutely outstanding. I would highly recommend it to anybody. The museum staff was fabulous, very friendly and accommodating. I can't wait to go back and explore the whole place.

Wendy Cone

I wanted to rate the 2019 Dior exhibition specifically. It was amazing. Both my daughters 12 & 10 loved it too. Make sure to buy tickets in advance.

Edward Poe

Extensive collection of art from many cultures. Parking is $15, but regular admission is free. Be prepared to spend several hours here.

Margaret Rowand

Beautiful Dior Exhibit. Very immersive and tasteful

Sivan Harpaz

It's really pretty if your into that kind of stuff. I like art so I had a lot of fun! But to each his own.

David Bartlett

The Visitors exhibition bu Icelandic artist Ragnar Kjartansson was incredible. Highly recommended for anyone who loves music and art.

Ha T.

Nice to roam around. Be careful, it is easy to get lost in the exihibits.

Sarah Walker

Such a lovely selection of pieces. They have changing exhibits. But I would book early. I went there a few times and they sold out before they opened. Tou can also purchase online.

Anna Earl

Beautiful art museum! And it is completely free to the public. I couldn’t believe how amazing the art was at it being free. With four different levels, you can find art from all around the world. The museum is set up in a unique way where you can experience art without being distracted from the other art. Even though it can feel like a maze, it’s a unique museum and a must for art lovers.

Marshon Wilson

Nice place to walk around and relax. Staff was friendly. I didn't see any art that blew me away, but it was free and had a ton of options.

Hype R

Awesome work here. Huge in general. Good 4-6 hours will be needed to look at everything*.

John Straughan

Very spacial and quiet. I would question if its just art though. I get art can be historical. I question what are the dominating things that make it an art? Further than that the events are great. I had a blast. Give this place a try if you're in Dallas.

Samurai A

Beautiful, clean and complimentary. I love coming here on the weekends. Dallas you continue to pleasantly surprise me.

Budi Sutomo

The awe-inspiring Dior Exhibit at the Dallas Museum of Art magnificently displayed the rich history of the House of Dior and gave us a rare peek inside the creative mind of the legendary Christian Dior.

Melizza Diaz

This was the first time I went to the museum. I grabbed a bite at their restaurant and as I looked down in my plate was hair! My friend had a sandwich and her food looked better personally. Before we went into the Dior exhibit, the first person advised everyone about the platforms and to be careful. When entering the exhibit, there was a young girl who was talking about something and I didn’t understand what she said. I told my friend that I didn’t understand her so as I entered down the hall she yelled at me and was rude about telling me about the same thing that the gentlemen just told us before we entered in. She was rude and her demeanor was not pleasant. So as we continued to the first part, another staff member told everyone about being careful but he was very friendly about it and even explained about the exhibit (We didn’t do anything wrong, I’m assuming that some people have been overstepping the displays and they should improve on that). The exhibition itself was beautiful and displayed elegantly. The place was crowded on a Thursday afternoon. We waited in line through the exhibit and didn’t seem to mind. It was nice having staff members knowledgeable of the designs and information about some of the pieces by who they were worn on. As we exited my friend took a picture and that same girl yelled and was very rude to my friend. We didn’t cross the line or step on any display but the girl was obnoxious and got another staff member and complained about everyone who walked in there. I understand she has a job to tell everyone but instead of yelling and complaining about it she made a scene with her words and actions. I called for a Manager and I believe a gentlemen came by and we addressed the issue. Once again he said is there anything I can do? How about you tell your staff to have some professionalism when it comes to explaining your policies. Not all your staff was incompetent of doing their job but it made it unpleasant having one person ruin the experience for you. I won’t support going to this museum. The ones in Fort Worth were much friendlier. Also some exhibits were closed and blocked off. So when you go make sure you tel them how your experience is because they will not do anything about it. Also the gift shop had great prices on prints and extras!

Veronika Jezkova

Several floors with different expositions related to various provinces and eras. For me was the best European with paintings and sculptures from famous artists, e.g.Gauguin, Picasso, Monet. Very modern interior, giving opportunity to shine to not so well-known artists across the globe. On the top of that, museum is located in beautiful area with park, close to the city center and it's also for free.

Christine Alemany

Lovely museum with great contemporary art alongside early American and ancient Asian art. They have an early Michaelangelo as part of their permanent collection, which is stunning. Entry is free, but parking is $15. You can see some art, then visit Kyle Warren Park. Plus, there are plenty of places in the museum to sit and take a break without feeling awkward.

Abdul Mohamin

An amazing place to learn and see new things from many different cultures. The only thing I didn't like about this place is that Roman and Greek section was closed when we visited. Otherwise this place is free if you can find a parking somewhere close by. Also, the staff here is very helpful and energetic, they always welcome you and assist with any question. If you go to Dallas, be sure to fo here.

Rasheda Valdez

Great way to spend a few hours and its totally free! Only the special exhibits cost but you can have a great time without the special exhibits if you're on a budget.

sugarbear6281

Very nice. Florence my guide was excellent! Very informational and able to give great history and meaning behind artist and artwork.

Frankie Hernandez

So many amazing things to see even if you just view the free exhibits. Everyone should visit here.

Janette Bueno

Went here with my daughter's 5th grade class for their field trip today at this very nice very quiet the art was very beautiful we enjoyed it

Doug Conard

We go here a few times a year to see various exhibits. This particular trip was for the Dior exhibit. It was a pretty good exhibit. Took about an hour to go through it so it wasn't to long or too short. Interesting to see the different design styles of the different design houses all together. Even I was able to pick out which designer/house made which piece about half way through. The museum itself was as expected. Staff was friendly enough and a few of them decently knowledgeable.

Andrew Malkowski

YOUNG CHILDREN NOT WELCOME. We had a group outing to the DMA and I brought both of my children, 11 and 3. My 3 yr old likes to ride on my shoulders downtown. I like it too because I always know where he is and I can always be aware of what he is doing. When we entered the DMA we were greeted with a politely arrogant employee or volunteer who promptly instructed me that my son could not be on my shoulders during our time at the DMA. As we began our journey through the DMA, we were promptly told that we must hold the hand of my 3 yr old at all times. In addition to this, we were constantly watched by multiple volunteers who looked at us as if we had bubonic plague or a third eye upon our forehead. We felt so uncomfortable we decided to leave 5 minutes into looking at the exhibits. This place is not family fun as they claim to be and you should not take your family here if you have young children. You're much better off just going to the park next door.

kelly schuster

wish I had more time there great collection of the European masters like Monet.

Laura Gilbert

I am so thankful we have free access to a high quality art museum. I love that they host a large variety of events for many different audiences and are constantly bringing in fantastic new special exhibits. There is a children’s section in the museum so this is a very family-friendly place.

Sanden Daughhetee

Loved it. Taking in the exhibits, spending hours and hours wandering the displays and only seeing a fraction of the museum. I want to spend weeks... no, months! here to savor the paintings, sculptures, and mixed media that makes the Dallas Art Museum one of the best in the world. If you have time, just go. You won't ever be disappointed.

Amanda Gilliland

This is a very cool museum. It’s worth a visit and it’s free!

Sekar Sathasivam

Nice place to spend time. Lots of effort are put in to create and maintain it . Centrally located. Courteous staff and we'll informed. Thoughtfully designed brochures make you well informed to see the art gallery No entrance fee. Ample car parking, I wish all the best to the museum

A friend and I went to the Dior exhibit and were scheduled for the last time slot to view the exhibit. We were constantly rushed through by staff and "reminded" they were closing at 8 pm. It was not enjoyable and one particular staff member was down right rude as we were exiting, saying "that's all, please exit." We made it through in 20 minutes (exiting well before 8pm) but felt we hadn't been able to fully experience or enjoy the Dior collection.

William Dillon

This is a great art museum, the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They have amazing art to view. The work here is just beautiful and I really enjoyed the exhibits.

Dan Alldridge

Really cool spot. A nice mix of indoor and outdoor exhibits. We happened to come when it was free admission for the public. They had some extra events for kids and a cool little coffee and smoothie bar set up.

Senya G

Went for the Dior exhibit and I loved all of it! It was pretty late but the staff that stayed after regular closing hours for the exhibit were really friendly and well informed on the exhibit.

Maureen Sutton

The exhibit is beautifully staged with lights, mirrors, tiers and cathedral like windows. One of the most elegant Museum sets everThe costumes were breathtaking. Some were quite simple and others so intricate as to boggle the mind. It was sensual and exotic with many costumes featuring African motifs.

I don't understand the good reviews! The workers are so unbelievably rude! Maybe the people leaving good reviews are from texas, and are used to everyone being completely miserable! It was so off putting. I loved the Dior exhibit and drove 4 hours to see it. And to have the staff be so rude really killed the mood and was very disappointing. I saw one employee literally yell across an exhibit because they were standing too close to a picture. She was screaming at people 30 feet away. I dont think I saw a single employee smile or say a kind thing to anyone. I will never return!

Paulo Lima

Amazing place. Very spacious with lots of interesting material totally for free.

Misti Mills

I love this museum. We didn't have time to see everything, so another trip is inevitable. I was disappointed that the second floor was closed, but I understand that it is necessary for improvement works. I got to spend some time with a Caravaggio, though, so I'm really in love with this museum.

Luis Perez

Elegant and peaceful. Enjoy the great selection of artworks and their visiting exhibits.

Anime Nerd

I was @AnimeFest 2019 at the Sheraton in Dallas & decided to go to the Dallas museum. & I must say it was VERYYYYYY awesome and spectacular! Nice service and a huge Japanese art area. Made me feel at home .

Harsh Hapani

Pretty good art works are displayed from all the different parts of the world. There is a wide range of art dating back to ancient times as well as modern time. The best thing is that the entry is free for general admission though you have to buy tickets for private art exhibitions and shows.

Mandy

This museum is super nice. It is very open and there us plenty of room between exhibits. I was lucky to get to see the Dior exhibit here, but there is always something cool going on, plus their normal exhibits. I loved their egyptian and Japanese permanent exhibits! We visited on a Sunday and it was perfect! Considee getting a membership, it easily pays for itself after 1-2 visits or a special event.

Carlon Bethell

Really great museum. Very expansive with lots of variety. A place you'd probably want to take 2 days to explore to get a full appreciation for all the galleries.

Hillary Handy

Fun spot to visit in Dallas. This is free to attend but donations are welcomed. 4 floors of pieces from around the world at various times in history. Great place to spend an hour or a whole day.

Reginal Verdell

I must admit that I was very surprised of all they had to offer regarding history. This is a must visit place here in Dallas. The tour guide was very informative and funny. I would reccomend every one of all ages, generations, and race to stop and support the DMA.

Will Green

Had a really good time here. Nice, quiet afternoon browsing some great exhibits.

KS

The Dior exhibit was amazing and since I'm a member I got in free! Plus I benefit from getting special event times and free parking. So worth it.

Sean Carter

For a free museum its top notch. Some collections are old, some new. Special collections have a cover. But for the most part a solid museum. Only down side is you can get lost in the collections on the upper levels. The start and end is confusing. You may miss things if you don't use a map. Staff is nice for the most part.

Christine Sanders

Wonderful. Every exhibit is beautifully displayed and informative. Loved the Dior exhibit...although parking was tricky because the DMA lot was full. We found street parking several blocks over but only had 2 hours before the meter expired. Go early to avoid the parking issue.

Siddharth Gore

Visited the second time- saw the Dior exhibit. Beautifully presented, inspiring!

Not only is it a guaranteed fun afternoon, filled with all kinds of interesting exhibits and new experiences, it's literally free! There's nothing bad I can say. I would have gladly paid 20 bucks for a ticket but it's just free. I am so grateful to have access to this, and you should be, too. There's so much to learn and explore. You can walk around for hours and there's plenty of places to stop and rest. There is something for everyone here.

Laraine Kerr

Dior exhibit was eye catching! Also did "Paint and Take" relaxing and enjoyable.

Ajoura Rama

We were here for the Christian Dior exhibit and loved every single part! I’ve been several times as different exhibits are in town and never been disappointed. Highly recommend this exhibit if you’re reading this and it’s still here!

Israel H.

Very nice and clean, lots of helpful staff must of the exhibits is free but some of them you would have to purchase a ticket still well worth it

Mel Benz

Dior show is not to be missed! Beautiful, elegant, thoughtfully curated. Absolutely a highlight of our museum experience. Get tickets in advance because they sell out quick. Especially on the weekend. Plan to spend an hour absorbing the history of the House of Dior.

Ashley Goodnight

Don't try and bring a backpack in or else you'll get scolded by every worker imaginable. Past that the art was extremely enjoyable.

Tracy Mulligan

Wonderful place to go with friends, family, yourself. My kids and their friends always have a good time with the different hands on activities, exhibits, classes, speakers, and even the food. There is a place for everybody to enjoy; infants to elderly. I love the DMA because I can have a variety of experiences in the same place. The workers are nice and helpful. The teachers are enthusiastic and guide the children to open their minds. It is clean.

Mary Cruse

An exquisite range of art. Admission is free, except special exhibits, and it is closed Mondays. Their special exhibits often sell out, so good to purchase exhibit tickets ahead of time. There is an excellent mix of primitive artifacts and paintings from around the world.

Shelby Lynn

Always a pleasure. So much beautiful art, knowledgeable and friendly staff. I always love coming here. We brought my 19 month old son and he was in awe the whole time. This place is a great spot for photo ops in the garden or even on the outsides of the building. The layout is sort of confusing but the staff there have no problem helping you out with which way to go.

Janis Timlick

I love DMA. Second trip to Dallas, and I can't get enough of it. Beautiful exhibits from many cultures and times. Only disappointment this time was European and Ancient Greek exhibits were closed due to renovations. Those are my favorites but understand these things need to happen. Added bonus: it's FREE.

Erica Polo

Absolutely BEST museum for EVERY promo, function, or just the art alone. They genuinely get visitors active & involved! My kids & I made a quilt with my dad. He's dying. I cried while making it, but felt fortunate that the DMA gave us something to treasure! Not just the quilt, but the memory made making it!❤

Wolf Willis

DMA has fantastic art and exhibits. However, many of the staff were flat out rude during my visits. It's as if they really don't like their jobs. Overall it does take away from the experience.

Tara Short

The children's section was was awesome.. It was very interactive and full of color.... the New York exhibit was to die for... I absolutely loved every minute of it! Will definitely go again

Nicole

Enjoyed my visit here. Was delighted to see that entrance to the museum was free which is not the case in many museums. Enjoyed seeing the art on the different levels. Staff was friendly and helpful. Enjoyed my time exploring the museum. Parking is a flat $15.

Joseph Payne

Its wonderful to have such an amazing place to see art and history that's free and available for everyone to enjoy. Definitely go visit!
