It has the fresnal lens from the Matagorda lighthouse there. It has Indianola artifacts also. The lady really knew her historical facts of the area.

Great relics from WW2, Native American tribes, French explorers, Union and Confederate soldiers, etc. Small gift shop with Calhoun County books and postcards. SEE PHOTOS. This is off the beaten path and not too well marked. No charge and free parking, but donations are accepted.

Fascinating museum. Has a Caranchua Indian exhibit and an authentic Fresnel lens used in light houses. Museum Director George Anne Cormier is quite the expert

Stop what you're doing and come here! It's free but if I had to pay it would still be worth it. The woman working there is knowledgeable and gave us a mini tour. A great way to learn about the history of the surrounding area!

There's so many artifacts here!! The staff is so knowledgeable, they're able to answer any questions you may have. This is truly a hidden gem for any and everyone!! I highly recommend it.
