REVIEWS OF Austin Aquarium IN Texas

Visited the Austin Aquarium as a last minute plan. We had a blast! Well worth the price we paid. You can purchase tokens for “encounters” with the animals. I definitely recommend doing so! The staff was so friendly and helpful. Most of the time, they were carrying around animals letting everyone pet them. They knew all about the animals and were very informative! Well worth the price we paid. Ryan was amazing and hooked us up with a sloth encounter!

Trisha Munsch

This was a great thing to do for a hot summer afternoon! Even I touched a sting ray! Not something I would typically see myself doing. One thing I did wish for: more labeling of what to look for in each exhibit. And the big birds (macaws, parrots and cockatoo -- why were they soooo chill? They were just sitting on their perches, not doing much. Are there different times of day when they are more active? Overall, a great exhibit! Keep up the good work of caring for the varieties you keep there while allowing people to learn about them!

Abby Lozano

The Austin Aquarium is beautiful! There are so many interactive exhibits. The staff is very nice and helpful. Our kids loved seeing the Disney Princesses as well as getting their faces painted. Their favorite part was getting to feed the birds and the playful stingrays. Next time we hope to meet the Sloth. Thank you!

Rosanna Vasconi

We went with our 8 year old kid and it was totally worthwhile!! Place is not too big so they concentrate in providing great experiences either feeding the animals like parrots, baby sharks, stingrays and many other type of fishes. We enjoyed the most having more than 10 small parrots in our arms and having lemurs playing around our kid.

Michael Urtado

We had a large group from elementary-age kids to high school teens with adults and everyone had a great time. We highly recommend the Austin Aquarium.

Dylan Moore

Absolutely amazing. Loved every minute of it and is DEFINITELY worth the price. All of the staff is extremely helpful and nice, and the encounters are super fun. Would recommend to everyone

Laurie Adkins

This place was so much fun and a great experience! We had an 18 mo old and an 11 mo old with us and both were able to enjoy. I was given the opportunity to help feed the Kinkajous and loved every minute! :) The staff were knowledgeable and extremely friendly- would highly recommend for children and any animal lovers!!

shailyn Penney

Went with a group aged from 14-60. We had so much fun. We were able to interact with almost everything there. So cool getting to feed stingrays, sharks, fish, and birds.. I'm sure there were others you can feed but we only did those. There's also animal encounters for an additional fee. Nice playground for younger kids and also an interactive game thing on the floor. I definitely recommend this place.

Don't judge this place by the outward appearance, it may appear small and nothing special, but it is quite the opposite! We were just traveling through Austin and wanted something fun and affordable to do with the kids. My husband and I were able to get in free with our homeschool teaching Id's and the price for the kids was very fair! The kids (and adults) loved being able to touch and feel the different creatures! Also, the employees were INCREDIBLY helpful and cheerful! A few times different employees would stop and check on us and even give us a fun fact about the animal we were looking at, it left quite an impression with us! This is a definite stopping point if we happen to pass through Austin again!

Amber Faye

Very friendly animals and very knowledgeable staff. They seem like they truly want to be there and care about the animals. The animals are well cared for with lots of food out and clean spaces. However when my husband and I were there last we were told 3 different times before and after buying tickets for the kangaroo encounter a time and we ended up waiting 30 minutes past the stated specific time. All in all a cute little experience. Love the stingrays and the little birds upfront.

Lady V

This place is amazing! I am 42 and my inner child squealed with excitement as I pet the stingrays, sharks, fish, birds, tortoises, and a snake. I can't wait to go back!

Thomas O'Connell

This place actually beat my expectations. I was able to find a discounted deal online to make the entry more bearable, but even at full cost the experience would have been worth it. We were greeted by a staff with a snake for the kids to touch if they wanted and some really fun displays. There is a lot of thought put into the displays both in and outside the tanks. There are plenty of birds and other wildlife. We noticed throughout some great animals you could touch, and activities, food, play areas. There is really a lot to do. There were a lot of people but it didn't feel crowded. Will visit again.

LaFran Daniel

My entire family loves Austin Aquarium! We've been numerous times and always thoroughly enjoy our visit.

Kim Kuykendall

We had a joint birthday party for my kiddos last weekend, and they had an incredible time! The host went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, and the kids were able to interact with almost all of the animals! Can’t wait to go back!

Luigi Nooo

I came here with my mom and nephew while we were babysitting. Very kid friendly, with plenty of places to sit, wash hands, etc. It gets pretty warm when crowded, but there are a lot of good exhibits, plenty of touch tanks and feeding experiences. My nephew liked the birds and the lemurs, and I had fun practicing animal words with him.

Jennifer Hammer

First visit with 9mo granddaughter. She loved it. The staff was entertained by her excitement with the birds. It was so much fun! Highly recommend!

Jenna Fillmore

I really enjoyed this spot. Was a good place to take my mom. I am glad we went. The otters were so cute and the turtles.

Elena Isoldi Medici

I don't know what the naysayers are having a problem with. It was a fantastic place to visit. Not too little and not too much to see when you have children. We had a great experience with animals and their staff. Their macaw trainer was amazing and my daughter felt like a rockstar when she was allowed to hold one of the birds. The kids can interact with animals and touch them. We absolutely loved our visit and would recommend it to anyone. Totally worth the money.

We last visited this aquarium on 7/31/2019: For the last 3 years since we moved to Texas, we’ve visited this aquarium annually. We were pleasantly surprised that after our last two visits, they had updated some of the exhibits. This was also the first time our son, who turned 2 this year, was able to really experience and enjoy it. And he had a blast, especially feeding the animals. We really like this venue and the experience was amazing. My only wish is that the tokens would spend a little further. For the price of them, the amount of food you get is kind of meager. I do however understand that with potentially many visitors it could get a little outrageous with over feeding.

Michelle Solis

Took my son here for a birthday party. Amidst the chaos of so many excited kids, the staff remained calm.

Helena Mad

So many animals and fish! Really cool aquarium. You can pet almost all the animals including the stingrays! Great place to bring kids!

David Morgan

We loved this place. It is very interactive and the staff is friendly. My daughter's loved the stingrays and sharks.

Nasiah R

I went with a couple of friends and we had an amazing time! Based on the pictures and the aquarium's location, I expected the variety to be very limited. There were way more animals than I expected. The museum definitely exceeded our expectations. Also, I feel like the amount for entry was fairly low and a great deal. We definitely got our money's worth. There were so many animals and lots of the exhibits were interactive. We got to touch stingrays as the swam around the tank, touch a baby shark, and have a crab nibble dead skin off of our hands. I had an awesome time and it was a great way to pass time with friends in town. I will definitely be back soon!

Andrew Bautista

What a fun surprise this was. Nestled in a shopping center that honestly doesn't look like it would house an aquarium, what Austin Aquarium lacks in size it makes up for with up-close encounters with some really cool animals. I only fed some particularly happy stingrays and chilled with some feisty conures, but you can hang out with lemurs, hold a variety of parrots, and even have a quiet sloth encounter. Next time I need a dose of animal happiness, I'll definitely come back!

Nom Hee Hwang

My daughter loves this place and I like that it's indoors and stays open pretty late for these types of places. Some staff members are great, some seem young and do not care. The biggest complaint I have is the price for the tokens. Over 3 dollars for one token is pretty pricey. So, having a lemur experience can cost you a pretty penny because you pay for your kid and if they are too young and need a parent guardian, they need to pay as well. Seeing the lemurs was about a $25 experience for a child with a parent. Will not do that again for a while. Not too much to see that'll entertain many adults but perfect for toddlers and young children. We have a yearly membership which is worth the price of admission but just wish the tokens weren't so expensive.

James Davis

We love this place. My son has such a great time touching and feeding the animals, admittedly so do I. The staff is always super nice. It is also nice that it doesn't take a long time to go through, even with all the playing you can do.

GIOVANI CASTANEDA

It's small but lots of animal interaction which makes it really fun. Tokens are pricey and needed to interact with some animals. I liked it

Anita Davis

Petting the Lemurs was amazing. Staff are great. Best to go during the week, discounts are nice.

Archer

Absolutely awesome! This is an interactive aquarium which is super cool. Super friendly staff are overall a great place to visit!

John Ramirez

Aquarium was super fun and all the staff was very helpful as always. We are members and love going to see all the animals. Met and chatted with Ryan and can’t wait to meet the sloths! My daughter loves the tortoises the best!! They had a big appetite!! Thanks for always being so friendly to us Austin Aquarium!!

Angélica Quintero

My son loved it. It was a new experience for him petting all the animals. Recommended

Stephanie Stiles

Wow, the Aquarium has really improved by adding so many interactive exhibits! Unique animals that usually you only see @ a Zoo, but don't interact with. The cost of admission reflects these improvements. Since the cost has increased so much, we won't be able to visit very often. Otherwise, great !

Arthur Wright

this was by far the most interactive aquarium I have ever been to. I suggest many of the experiences everything from lemurs, octopus, canaries, and stingrays. It was such a good experience the staff are our fun and nice and intelligent. Everything about it was just A+.

Toni Carr Haas

I rarely have experienced personalized service like that offered by not one but five Aquarium employees. My grand daughter was leaving town the next day, and we had tried several days in a row to access an animal encounter. Not only did the trainer and others coach us through both the wait and the encounter, they also worked with the kinkajous to create the best environment possible. This incredible venue cares to the maximum--for its creatures AND the children who come to love them... Toni Haas-Williams

Amazing! Even though it isn't a very big aquarium, they provide so many wonderful petting and feeding experiences! I'm 22 and don't have children, but even I can see this is a great space to take little ones to let them learn about and enjoy a variety of aquatic species, as well as birds, bunnies, and more! The staff is friendly and helpful, with a really nice gift shop! I'll be going back for sure!

Brooke Johnston

I'm from Virginia Beach where we have a HUGE aquarium, and I actually liked this one soooo much better. The staff is a lot more friendly and you can be so interactive with the animals! You can tell that these beautiful animals are very loved and taken care of! The best part is whatever tokens you don't use can be used in the gift shop! It's really wonderful and can't wait to come back!!

Bailey Sherman

This aquarium is amazing such a fun experience for everyone. Very interactive and hands on. The kids are having a blast and so are the adults in our party

Jesse Montoya

The place was smaller than expected but not too small that it was not pleasant. The staff were very friendly and helpful allowing us to pet the animals while informing us all about each one and their habitats. The place was as clean as could be despite the obvious foot traffic and animal by products. Our kids enjoyed the experience. Our hat goes to Katie the artist who drew us quickly and very professionally you are amazing!!!

Rudy Chapa

The Austin Aquarium is definitely aimed towards people, and it was fun to see all the animals...but many of the animals do not look happy at all. The lemurs are overcrowded, along with the aviary exhibit, and most animals do not have a place to hide when they feel stressed. The lemurs fought at one point, and it seemed like the stress of the overcrowded cage was what caused it. There was like 20 lemurs in what seems to be a 20x20x15 enclosure. And the giant eel in the cylindrical tank didn’t even have room to lie down. Other animals seemed to be having fun, like the otters and some of the fish. I think the aquarium is a great place, but many of the enclosures are needlessly overcrowded or insufficient just for the pleasure of the visitors. It’s sad that this is the cost of what it takes to please a 3 year old.

Monica Leon

We were unsure about the aquarium at first due to the location, but were surprised at everything it had to offer. There were a lot of hands on areas and the employees were all very friendly and informative. We are all in agreement that this is the best aquarium we've been to. Thank you for a great experience!

Jeremy Robertson

Really cool aquarium. They've got more than just marine creatures, including lemurs, chickens, ducks, and snakes. You can feed and pet stingrays, sharks, and other animals. My kiddo loved it!

Contessa Somerville

This is the best place ever!! Went in a group of 4 adults, not really knowing what to expect. We will be back definitely! All 4 of us where smiling and running around like kids! Everyone there was acting the same way we were! Never been to such a exciting, interactive, hands on, and truly educational place! We cannot say enough about it! Excited for our next trip there!

myka431

Wonderful, affordable interactive aquarium. The absolute best Ive ever experienced. Even their giftshop was not marked up. I will definitely be back

Bees

I was scared at first concerning the amount of freedom guest have with interacting with the animals, however i soon noticed that the creatures were beyond healthy and extremely happy! A very responsible aquarium that educates the public in a unique way. Definitely worth the trip!

bobby braswell

Mesmerizing; friendly and well informed staff, who all seem to love working there.

nadia hermosillo

I really loved how fun this place was, even all the staff. However I do feel the animals have feelings and it's sad to see some in such small habitats. I really hope that the staff gives them attention as well when there closed.

Liz Kliewer

This place may look unassuming from the outside, but once we got inside we were blown away!! There are so many interactive and tactile activities for kids off all ages and well trained staff who communicate rules in a fun easy to understand way. I was truly impressed with the variety of species and well put together exhibits. Even big kids had fun! Definitely recommend this as an activity to consider if you have children.

Hydro Cronus

Reasonable prices, fully stocked with amazing surprises in every section, kept me excited and mesmerized throughout. Definitely worth the visit. You can absolutely tell they went the extra 2 miles to make this aquarium stand out from the rest. Great job! Will be back with the family

ben tuchenhagen

From the outside it looks very small. But once you're in, it's incredible! There's so many different animals, and exhibits to explore and see. Unfortunately children must be 6 or older for most of them. Plenty of animals to see and pet though. Great experience overall

Jarrod Trlica

Considering the cost, it was pretty atrocious. There was a dead fish in one of the tanks. A lot of the tanks seemed pretty dirty and worse for wear. We were in and out with our 2 year old in around 30 minutes. The kid spent more time in the gift shop than looking at the various animals. I would steer clear of going to this place.

Khyar 0200

It was a great experience for the kids. A lot of fun interactive exhibits to go through.

James Walcik

Great for kids and adults as well. Prices are fair, seniors and veterans receive a discount. Prices are higher on weekends than during the week. GROUPON does run specials. Purchase tokens for personal interaction with some animals and to feed fish, and stingrays. The place is small so it takes less than two hours to walk through.

Sagar Bhatnagar

I love this place! It makes for a great quick weekend outing. Yes, it is not huge but it is fun and interactive The staff are well trained and friendly. Pros: It is cheap! Great value! Easy to get to. Lots of animal interactions. It has more than just aquatic animals: it even has an aviary, kangaroos, lemurs etc! Free bunny petting. Cons: It is quite small. No big sharks. Not even common ones like Black tips.

Ruchi Iyer

My kids love being here. The best thing here is the close encounter with most of the animals and feeding them while watching them closely...it feels close to nature

Ariana Hamilton

I loved this place! They have a gift shop and you can feed the animals. They have a sloth, octopus, lemurs, kookaburras, and more! We can touch a lot of the birds and fish, they even had sting rays. The only thing that I peferably didn't like was the cost. They made you pay to get in then pay for 'tokens' and they aren't cheap. I got the 50 tokens for about $160.

Tony Tran

Loved this place! Interior was extremely well kept and staff was very knowledgeable / helpful! There is so much up close interactions with the animals there so the kids will definitely enjoy it. We plan on coming back again soon!

Lauren Avance

As a parent of two toddlers, this place is great. They love it. They love getting to touch everything, and I love that it's relatively small and contained, so it's pretty easy to keep track of everyone. If you're looking for an amazing, professional aquarium with a great variety of well-cared for animals, this is not your place. If you're looking to keep a two year old and a three year old busy until nap time, you've hit the jackpot!

Terry Osborne

The people that work at the Austin Aquarium are extremely nice, professional and knowledgeable. My grandson and I thoroughly enjoy our visits there. We have been twice and will surely go again. It’s such a truly learning and exciting experience in a relaxed environment. My only gripe is the price of a small Gatorade..$4!

Raw Momma

We LOVED it! What a fantastic hands on experience! Walk through a series of large and small fish tanks interspersed with a lemur enclosure, a boat that is home to an iguana, a walk-in aviary and a touch tank full of sting rays. There is so much to see, touch, feed. I highly recommend it for all ages.

Amanda Tawater

Haven't been able to enjoy thier beauty. Been in hospital. But I will tell u the scenery and ambience is soul grabbing!! All while getting to feed and interact with the animals

Tania Martinez

Looks like a very small place, but it's really no .. my first time going to Austin and I was so happy to go there ...the staff great . They have everything !!! I enjoyed every second I was at the aquarium ... Check out the cartoonist she's awesome !!!

jen dombroski

We came back to the aquarium for our son’s birthday party after a long hiatus. Wow! They’ve come such a long way! There are more animals, more activities and the staff is helpful and knowledgeable. They went above and beyond for our birthday party experience. I was concerned that I would leave feeling like we didn’t get our money’s worth (the party packages are pretty pricey). My concern was unfounded. The party package is well worth it! Well done, Austin Aquarium. Thanks for making my boy’s day extra special. See ya next time!

KungFoo ActionJesus

Spent three hours here with a loved one and had so much fun! It was interactive, beautiful, and just a great time! It was especially great considering the price wasn't huge!

Matthew Green

Small little aquarium but It was still nice, customer service went way above to help us. They have lemurs and you have to pay extra to pet them which I did and thoroughly enjoyed.

Joshua Cooper

We had a great time on morning rounds. It was my daughter’s birthday present and she absolutely loved it. Got to interact with lots of animals and 1:1 discussions with very well versed staff members. A special shout out to Will for a lemur experience my daughter will never forget

Macy Myers

I loved coming here. The animals are awesome and getting to touch stingrays was a highlight of my life. I took away a star because the staff werent very friendly and one of them was yelling at a new staff member for touching the birds. A lot of them acted like they didnt want people to be there... but overall I really enjoyed this experience because I love animals.

Brian Pridemore

This is a very fun aquarium to visit. In addition to having all kinds of aquatic creatures, they also have many different kinds of reptiles, birds, and lemurs too. And, a good many of the critters they have there you can feed too. My daughter loved feeding the stingrays and the tortoise. Much fun!

auburn bain

Great place to spend a bit of time and interact with different species. Kiddos had a good time touching the rays, tortoise, birds, and ducks. For a bit of extra money you can get inside with the kangaroos. Fun photo spots and the gift shop has good souvenirs. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Debby Kern

We went to the Austin Aquarium for our 1st graders field trip. This was personally our third trip there, though. We love going there! The kids love all of the exhibits. Being able to pet and feed sharks, stingrays, and birds is just so much fun. There are fish and ducks and turtles to feed, lizards, iguanas and other marine life to see and learn about. There is a small play area for the kids to burn off some energy and let the adults sit down and rest a bit. We also visited with the lemurs which is so worth it. My granddaughters got to interact with Buttercup, a python and the employees at the aquarium were absolutely the nicest people. They answered questions, were very patient, showed interest to the kids. We will be returning again in the next month to take the rest of the family. There is also a really nice gift shop I like to shop in and a place to buy drinks and food. It’s a super nice way to spend your day!

Nat Bell O knee

Great place for kids to experience all the fish. Even getting to touch stingrays, birds, monkeys. Awesome place and super friendly staff

Michele Hancock

Great place for family fun! Extremely kid friendly and great for a fun afternoon. I recommend purchasing tokens since that is how you get to participate in the other activities. The touch tanks are an awesome way for kids to interact with sea life and there are other interaction activities with birds, lemurs, and more!

Cali Louie

Fantastic interactive place to see and feed fish, birds and primates. Such an awesome variety of reptiles, amphibians, land and sea creatures. Not just an aquarium as it may appear. Games and play areas to exercise pent up energy and then more animals to see. Mr. 5 and Miss 2 have never had such a great time!

Edward Huggins

My autistic daughter who is 6 and I went here today. Everyone was super nice and helpful. They turned of the music for us due to her anxiety she has with it and entertain her while I signed us up for yearly pass. My daughter loved it and she usually is overwhelmed easily. It has been hard this last gew months with her and family issues. They were amazing and so kind. Thank you so much to staff, ownership needs to give everyone a raise. She loved it!

Charlie Hawknuff

This was a great experience for us! It was such a unique aquarium because of how interactive it was. Great place for adults and kids. Highly recommend.

Casey Moser

SO MUCH FUN. Great for preschool age kids. But the adults had just as much fun. Interacting with the animals is encouraged, which is really special.

Yvette Chase

All I have to say is don't let the standoffish cashier cloud your judgement when you come in to pay. Everyone else and everything there is pretty cool. Family fun: great. So many different things to do. That mermaid is so patient and kind with the kiddos. If you haven't been go!!!!!. It's totally worth it..

Ben Strength

Outside appearances will fool you but once inside it's a great place! Friendly and helpfull staff who make you feel like they care to talk with you if you have questions. All wildlife there is accessible to touch and interact with. Highly recommend this place to anyone!

Megan Boneski

We were in town on vacation and planned to visit the aquarium to kill time before check-in at our hotel. We thought the aquarium would be a nice diversion after many hours on the road, and the cost of admission ($15.99 + tax per person) seemed reasonable. I thought that the admission price, once we'd been through the aquarium, was about $7 per person too much. I was expecting more of a "fish zoo" (a la "Aquarium of the Americas" in New Orleans). Austin Aquarium is...not that. Perhaps "Aquatic Experience" is closer to how I'd describe it. The aquarium is in a converted store in a shopping center, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, just different from what I expected. They have an area for parties, and there is a gift shop on the way out. I could see that they tried to make the exhibits interesting and informative, and there are many opportunities for guests to interact with the animals (there are also reptiles and birds exhibited). The place looked clean, and the animals appeared to be healthy and taken care of. Austin Aquarium seems to be a good place to take young children who may not be able to handle a larger aquarium experience. It wasn't a good fit for us, however.

Kathy Bushon

Not Just for Kids My 17 and 20 year old grandchildren and I ended up visiting here on a whim while in Austin. What an absolutely wonderful surprise. When we drove up, we were a bit unsure but all of the reviews were so good that we went in and we were so glad we did. We really enjoyed feeding the rays and petting the sharks, but this place is so much more. We had a great time seeing all the displays, but the highlight of our trip was the sloth encounter. They have some wonderful encounters with lemurs, kinkajou and a sloth named Sid. We enjoyed the up close and personal encounter with Sid and his handler, Ryan. We could not have asked for a better experience and we will talk about it for years to come. If you have not been, you should!

Anthony Stox

A really beautiful and well made aquarium with a gorgeous gift shop. I had a great time, you can pet the sting rays for free and interact with quite a few animals. You have to pay to feed some of the animals but feeding them also means you get to touch and interact with them most times

Savannah Breedlove

We made a say trip down from Waco to visit the Austin Aquarium. We had a blast it was in expensive and fun for our family. Although it’s a bit smaller than I expected it to be for an aquarium in a big city. You use tokens to buy food for the animals and do other activities. It was a bit packed but that was expected. Overall we had a good time. Just expected it to be bigger.

Cyrus Baty

This was my first time at the Austin Aquarium. I'd never been before because I figured an aquarium in a strip mall wouldn't be that good. I'm happy to report I was wrong. The aquarium was small but incredibly interactive. You could touch/pet a lot of the animals and staff was around to answer questions. Birds will perch on your arm. You can pet rays, bunnies, snakes, and lizards. I paid extra for the lemur experience, which was incredible and well worth it. I cannot wait to go back for some of the other experiences. They also had a balloon artist and a face painter (you buy tokens to purchase animal food, animal experiences, and the balloons and face painting).

Bree Sharp

Wonderful experience with the family. Animals look very well cared for and staff was very helpful and informative. Their artist there also does amazing work!

Gabby Young

Lots of interactive experiences, from snakes around your neck, to lemurs and kangaroos. Shark feeding and sting ray feedings are lots of fun and my kids loved the face painting. The slide and gymnasium area was nice for little ones to burn off energy. Very hands on aquarium and the staff are so helpful and kind.

Ron Werner

We came from Tyler Tx and spent several hours here. Took my daughter for her 4th birthday. Had a great time!!!! Worth the money by far esp. with so much interaction

allycat allycat

I really liked it as far as the kids are able to touch and feed the animals and even go into a cage with them. Very cool experience for kids! It was however very crowded and not clean at all. Felt like the the animal enclosures should be taken better care of and the place is small and kinda run down. We did have fun and the kids loved the iguana and bird room.

Dawn Russo

Small but good. You have to pay to interact with the animals which can get expensive depending on who you want to see. But I thought it was worth it. Feed a sloth. Played with the kinkajou which was super fun and the lemurs.

Matt

Amazing aquarium plus more animals! Great for families with young & curious kids. Awesome for older kids and adults to get a chance hold lemurs and kinkajou! Expect to spend 1 hr+

Jacqueline Perez

We enjoyed everything but our favorite thing was probably hanging out with the lemurs. They are so cute!!!

Lorena Aguilar

This was our first time her and we loved it. I liked that we were able to touch some of the animals. I would like to see a gigantic fish tank. It would be awesome. Overall it was fun and we really enjoy it.

John Chaffin

So much fun!! Friendly service and atmosphere. The encounters are so cool. You can pet animals you only see in documentaries. You can pet the big iguana in the front area and he seems so happy when you give him attention. Feed the animals is life changing. You're going to want to come back after every visit.

Michelle Ritchie

Every time I go I have tons of fun. There are always new exhibits and it is a very interactive lil aquarium. LOVE IT!

jeff lederfine

I went to Austin Aquarium with my granddaughter. We spent over 3 hours there. It's very interactive and educational. We were able to play with Lemurs and parakeets and feed all kinds of animals.

Gaming time Time

Love the aquarium!! For its size it has plenty to do from petting stingrays to feeding birds. Great way to spend an afternoon and I will be going again

xlgamel xl

Really enjoy my visits. Staff is always friendly & helpful. I like the way they change it up, so you're not seeing the same on every visit.

Andrea Sills

This place is great! My kids LOVED it! We had the best time and we were literally here for 4 hours playing and learning about the animals. The staff is so sweet and knowledgeable! Great place to visit when ever you're in Austin. We will definitely be back!

Niesha Purter

Alyssa was amazing! She gave a great tour, and is fantastic with kids. The staff there was so helpful . They made our first visit awesome!

Travis Hill

Geared toward smaller kids: this place was awesome for my three year old and 15 month old. Everything is on their level and there is lots of interactive exhibits. Staff was friendly throughout. Great way to spend an afternoon with your little ones. There are some exhibits you have to spend a little $ to get into and have to be over 5 years old so my kids could not get into but they had a blast either way. Not all fish either, they have a lot of reptiles, birds, lemurs, rabbits etc.

Kurt Walker

I give this place 4 stars because my kid loved it! It's located in a strip mall and seems like it was once a store, but now has partitions set up to create different areas for exhibits. It's just weird. Not your typical big city aquarium. With that said, my kid loved it, I enjoyed it, admission was cheap, so overall a great experience. Keep your expectations realistic and you won't be disappointed. The animals are super close and accessable. The sting rays are hilarious, they come right up to you. You're able to interact with lemurs and macaws as well. It doesn't look like much, but enjoy it for what it has, don't dwell on what it doesn't, and you won't be disappointed.

Rafael Hernandez

Very friendly and clean. The staff is very informative about the animals. The only thing that could improve is the lemur exhibit. Wife and daughter went in and really couldn't take pics of them with the animals due to staff being in the way. But i still give it a great review

The aquarium seems unassuming. But it's actually quite nice. Lots of hands on stuff. Can touch and feed a number of animals. The bird exhibit is awesome. Aviary filled with colorful parakeets that you can sit among and hand feed.

Bob M

Didn't expect much being out was inside a strip mall, not was I wrong! My wife and I absolutely loved it! Completely interactive...you can feed the animals, touch the stingrays and iguana and take pictures with the different animals that they have there. There is a gift shop and place to eat lunch inside. Lots of fun, bring the kids!

Antonio Servin Espitia

My experience at the Austin Aquarium was great. It was my first time going and I was not disappointed. I would definitely go again. Even got a caricature of my dogs done in a matter of minutes. Highly recommend it.

Chris Johnson

We had fun! Some pretty cool exhibits. A little pricey, though.

Roy Berkley

Great place to take children 10 and under. I think it is more of a petting zoo of aquariums. Not great for people that have been to large aquariums in bigger cities. I took my six year old granddaughter and we had a great two hours. Plan on eating before or after. Food situation is not awesome.

alleZSoyez

Lots of exhibits. The fish and ducks get a little feisty when they realize you've got food, so be ready to get splashed! There are also trained parrots, many other birds, lizards, turtles, lemurs and a sloth exhibit. The staff was great and helpful. You can touch a lot of the animals too. Definitely an experience worth having at least once.

Gloria Stringer

I went with my granddaughter and daughter for a day trip. What a fun aquarium! Not too big, but full of interactive and engaging exhibits. Unfortunately we were not able to see the lemurs when we went (had to leave), but she got to pet sharks, visit the aviary, and pet stingrays. The crew working were knowledgeable and friendly. I am sure we will be back soon!

Balakarthik Venkataramanan

I gave a 4 because of the staff. They were so friendly and were passionate about caring for the animals. But for the fee we paid, we were expecting more variety of fishes as well as a more clean facility.

Kevin Rush

This aquarium is a great aquarium for little kids as it is rather small. It is a bit pricey but if you live in the area it is a good place to buy the season pass too in order to keep a younger kids entertained every few weeks.

Jonathan Clark

This place was great! Kids loved it! Parents loved it. Very enjoyable for the whole family

Andrew White

The aquarium (and more!) was such a great time! Its by far the most interactive "zoo/aquarium" experience I've had and was a blast. So much variety of animals and exhibits! The new baby otters are adorable!

Jeri C

It is a fun interactive place. If you want to feed the fish you buy tokens in addition to your entry fee. It's not a very large aquarium so you could get through it quickly. They have a small cafeteria for a quick bite.

Jennifer Blair

Won’t actually visit until this Sunday but wanted to give a “shout out” to Leslie. We have our daughter’s bday party scheduled there in a few days and Ms. Leslie was so lovely in walking us through what to expect and how to create the best experience possible. Hoping management recognizes the gem they have in Leslie!

Marett Hanes

Great for small children. On the smaller side but lots of different types of fish and animals. My son is very interested in iguanas and they have many that you can get close to and touch so his teacher recommended we go.

Heather Escamilla

Such a fun experience!! This place is wildly interactive. You do have to pay a little extra for the mammal exhibits, but I feel like the money goes to a good cause. Animals are clearly happy. They are trained to do tricks. Animal handlers are intelligent and help everyone feel like they are interacting. Loved getting to feed the animals. Reasonably priced items in the gift shop, and able to spend unused tokens there (that was nice!). Great time. :)

Scott Whitaker

Love this place! My son and daughter love seeing the fish and other animals!

Chenaniah Loucks

An AMAZING experience overall! The staff was so nice and the animals were super friendly! One of my favorite places in Austin by far! If you are even thinking about this place TRY IT! You won't regret it!!

Rob Fowler

Loved the otters, the lemur experience is a little coarse with regards to persons with disabilities, she got to be on the experience all of a minute before they requested her to exit over her thumb muscle twitching .. so, go. But if you can avoid the urge don't do the get in cage if you have any kind twitch, tick, flick, seizure or other afflictions

Kaitlin Clabaugh

The staff in person are a little unattentive and not very quick to respond. The caricature artist was very nice and super creative. Being able to pet and feed so many different animals and creatures was awesome! Our toddler LOVED it!!! ❤

Audrey Butry

Beautiful aquarium and although small, it is reasonably priced and fun for kids. A bonus is it’s out of the Texas heat. We loved to see the many birds on display and the sea animals. My son loved to feed them too. The staff was very friendly. We will be back!

Robert Reed

Small interactive aquarium that is perfect for families and small kids. There are enough exhibits to keep interest but not overwhelm. The interactive portion allows for you to interact with the animals. (Feed, touch, in some cases holding them). This part generally costs additional to the admission. The admission was sufficient for my daughter so I cannot really comment on the other parts though I had two parrots fly to my shoulders and back immediately upon arrival so...

Josh Cockeram

Had an amazing experience at this aquarium. Most of the exhibits are interactive and the staff are very friendly. I highly recommend this aquarium to everyone.

Melissa Cutright

I took my 2 year old and she had so much fun! She got in for free because she’s under 3, and I got in for free because I’m a teacher. We got to see some really cool animals, and even got to interact with some. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. We will definitely go back.

Bellah Therapies LLC Harker Heights, Texas

The staff was extremely sweet and the animals looked well taken care of with plenty of space. We really enjoyed our time. There were staff walking around with animals for us to hold and pet and take pictures with. Our children had a wonderful time as well and there was plenty of seating for parents. We would definitely love to return.

cori wilkerson

Awesome! Fed an octopus by hand as a private group, it was so cool! We went into the open, free-range bird room where little parakeets landed on us to eat the feed from our hands and loved that! Missed the lemur encounter as they take naps so go there first otherwise you might miss out before they close them for the day (pretty early in the afternoon). There was so much to see and do we are planning to go again! Oh, you have to buy tokens to feed the animals and if you don't use them all you can use them in the gift shop or donate them.

Valorie Jameson

This must be Austin's best kept secret. Not crowded. And we were there on a Saturday. I loved that almost everything was a " hands- on" experience. That is how all aquariums should be. My family had a great time!

Juan Lopez

It was alright. Once I got in I like the birds flying around and on employees. Also like the Lemur enclosure but when I asked about the Lemur Encounter, I was told all mammal encounters were closed for the day. They have reptiles that you can pet as well which is pretty cool. Also had a giant Pacific Octopus which is great! Gift Shop had plenty of stuff and the bathrooms smelled good.

Sherri Ruiz

Really enjoyed the hands on experience! Didn't mind paying for the tokens for the opportunity to interact with the animals. I would highly recommend going.

Rayne Duque

This facility makes wonderful use of the grounds to provide space and comfort to the animals. The workers at the aquarium are as considerate to the people as they are to the animals. Although some of the visitors were not able to interact with certain groups of animals due to pet dander causing allergen hazards, a staff member accommodated this by bringing out the kinkajou for them. She was very well behaved. A good experience, great for all ages

Ditiana Perfecto

We love the Austin Aquarium! There are lots of interactive things for the kids to do. It’s not too big and just enough for the little ones to enjoy. The staff is friendly and the facilities were clean. They have lots of extras that involve extra tokens. We used about 10 tokens for 1 visit with 1 child.

Natalie Roberts

The lemur experience was great! I just wish we didn’t have to wait an hour for it. I love how you get to feed lots of the animals.

Katie Bridges

Such a fantastic place. The animals seem well taken care of and the staff is extremely friendly and kind and really care about the animals. Cody was especially friendly and informative. 10/10 would come back again.

Betsy G-W

Great aquarium! Best part was watching my daughter feed several animals. Also some other opportunities..."cartoon" drawing, face paint, snack bar, little playground area, etc. Very hands on! My 6 year old daughter had fun and so did I!

Brooklyn Stowers

Loved this place. The kids loved petting the stingrays and the man who ran the parakeets was very nice tho us. The parakeets were our favorite part.

Brianna Walrafen

Wonderful for my 4 and 2 yr old. They loved it and it was easy to navigate and small enough to not be a complete day killer, but you could also easily spend a day there if you wanted. Staff was friendly. My 11 yr old would even like it, thinking of taking him for the Lemur encounters.

kat vann

This was my 1st time here and I loved every second! It was like being a kid all over again. There were so many animals to see and feeding the koi was my favorite. I will definitely be back!

Amy L. Perkins

My husband and I brought our kids to the aquarium this weekend. We are from Houston and a relative highly recommended it. We had a ton of fun. We do plan on going back. We love it!

Stella Welborn

We really enjoyed it. 3 grandbabies 6 month, 2 year and 8 year old with us all enjoyed, plus their parents. The only problem was my 2 year old could not do some of the things and we bought to many tokens. Might be helpful if the front desk would have informed us. But over all a very pleasant day. Just buy you tokens as you need them inside.

Joshua Parker

Customer free to walk around at their leisure. Friendly staff brings animals to you to touch and pet. Very kid friendly. Play area for children with snack are as well. Very informative. Kids can even take a picture with a mermaid. Lobby/store area can get crowded at times.

Cathy Behrens

Staff is helpful! Kids had a blast! Worth the trip to visit! Will go again

Charlie Quick

Don't be fooled by the unassuming exterior of this place; it's an absolutely incredible experience! There are so many animals to see, and almost all of them have opportunities for you to interact with them first-hand. We went twice in one week just because we wanted to go back after our first visit! We're planning on getting annual passes as a group, which is only $40 per if you do three or more. It's very affordable, well-maintained, and absolutely worth the trip.

Andrew Clifford

Great family fun for cheap. buy your find start tickets online and save a bunch. Takes about 2 hours of you take your time and see everything. Fun interactive hands on experience. My kids loved it.

Katie Fulton

A very good place to bring small children. Fun for adults as well. Lots of different wildlife to see, clean facilities, and friendly staff. Had a wonderful time!

Esther L

My daughter loves this place, and she requests to go there every week. Perfect place for toddlers as they can pet the fish and the turtles and a lot of other animals. This place also keeps introducing new creatures, making it different every time I go.

Jessica Marquez

Even being 22 I felt like a kid again for all the fun I had. I enjoyed how interactive the aquarium was & it made me super happy seeing how amused my niece was by everything! Although it was a bit pricy for coins you honestly got what they were worth. Nothing like the San Antonio location so I would definitely recommend taking a trip to Austin to visit their location!

Michael Nungesser

This place was a surprisingly very good place to spend a couple hours with the family. Pulling up, it looks like it’s in an old grocery store, but inside there is plenty of exciting entertainment. A very interactive experience for the kids. They loved the lemurs and the bird feeding. Very cool. I’d recommend to others with kids for sure.

A Naeseth

A very fun place to go for the whole family. We came for the first time with our son this past weekend and there was so much to do and look at. It's very reasonable and you can be hands on with some great animals. We fed the Sting Rays, The birds, did the hand cleaning inside the tank, pet the lizards, the bearded dragon and the turtles, etc. You can do so much more there too. Lots of beautiful fish and animals to look at.
