This place is amazing!!!! We had a great time. The kids activities are not like a children's museum! They had legos, kids books, barbie dollhouse, big blue blocks and a well stocked craft area. All for FREE!!!!!! We cannot wait to go back!!

If you are looking for a breathtaking venue to get married and that will not cost you an arm and a leg than look no further. It's beautiful, gorgeous and the staff are so helpful and amazing especially Janelle. She made my dreams come true and when I was crazy and didn't know what to do she guided me. You can bring your own caterer in which is a HUGE bonus. I will recommend this place until I die!!!! Love it.

Wonderful place to bring your children and cure the winter blues! The craft area is very well stocked and open for lots of creativity. The play areas are stocked with toys for open, imaginitive play. They also have great activities and classes throughout the year.

Great event Hall. They offer rentals for events such as weddings or corporate functions and they also have a lot of free children's events there. We like to take our young children there on play dates.

I love the Museum of Visual Materials. I love how open it is and how you can come in and just do your own thing. I have come here with my two girls for the past 4 years, ages 6 and 4 now, and they Iike the imagination play foam for building and constructing. They also explore the open art area, lego tables, story corner, the giant dollhouse, and Lincoln logs. There really is something for every stage and age.

I took my kids from my work on a field trip there. They had some stuff for them to do but I was kinda disappointed...there were mom's coming in with their kids and it looked like they had all kinds of stuff to do but the museum only directed us to 3 different areas. The Big blocks were fun...kids loved those!

Joey Cazanova WOW ENTERTAINMENT

This is a super cool place to have an event! The staff is very confident and really friendly. As an Entertainer it's an easy load in and there's plenty of power to set up our Stage Show. The Acoustics are great so you don't need a ton of volume. And it's close enough to other bars so you can bar hop after your event is done if you like and it's walking distance. This building was put up in 1885 so there is a lot to see inside and a lot of history.

This place is kinda small, but that's really its only drawback (some of the paintings are also a little...post-representational for my tastes, but I still enjoyed looking at them). Its a beautiful building, surrounded by a beautiful garden, in which there are an array of displays on various interesting topics, as well as numerous paintings for sale, and permanent artistic displays. The staff was very friendly and accomodating, and they permitted me to wander throughout the facilities (including some rear areas that I wasn't entirely certain were ordinarily open to the public), despite the fact that the place was all set up for a wedding reception (presumably taking place right about now). Its a very eclectic and downright cool place, with all sort of objects d'art & assorted knick-knacks either for sale, or just on display, atop shelves & shelves & shelves of books on all manner of artistic, scientific & cultural topics (I was especially pleased to come across a copy of Roy A. Gallant's "National Geographic Picture Atlas of Our Universe," which my grandfather gave me for Christmas way back in 1980, and which I hadn't seen for a good many years). Like I said, the place is small, so don't plan on making a day of it, but its definitely more than worth checking out. Its nice that there's no admission fee, but despite being unemployed, I still threw a dollar in their donation box...so if you have a full-time job, please see if you can't do just a little better than that.

Steve Watkins

Great place for events. One of the oldest buildings in Sioux Falls and original!

We recently attended a wedding at this venue. Pretty place, lots of space for he right amount of people and nice staff. The art was more abstract, but pretty.

My wife and kids love coming here for the crafts and activities. It was one of the first things we heard about in Sioux Falls, even before we moved here. It quickly became a family favorite and they visit nearly every week. I'm glad every time I can come with them to enjoy it.

My daughter and i love to come here. We have come several timesthis year for crafts. We also came in october for their Halloween event. My family doesn't really do halloween in general, but they had a fall area set up for picture taking. With mini bails of hay and pumpkins a bench and a background. Our pictures turned out quite lovely.

Strangely, the one and only person you will find to greet you, direct you, and/or excite you enough to want to come back...did none of the above! Too bad:( My daughter was so excited to visit, but we both left feeling like it was a waste of time.
