As you can read, its rating is practically the best one, and it's founded on a very large number of feddbacks, so we can be pretty sure that the assessment is very credible. If there are many people who bothered to leave their review when they've done well, is that it works.

You know that we do not usually bother to place reviews when these are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...

Nice spot to stop and take a break for lunch. Picnic tables, trees, well groomed lawn. Very helpful people working the visitor center.

Amazing staff and incredibly worth your time to learn about the history of the CCC

This is something most people probably don't know about but it's a great stop in. Shows the history of our country thru the Dust Bowl and the Great Depression. We spent almost an hour there exploring and looking around everyone with kids should stop there and explain the history to them.

This is a small museum but tells the story of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in South Dakota. This program affected the lives of thousands of men and their families between 1933 and 1942. Work of a roster of enrollees is ongoing and available to museum visitors. The amount of work completed by these men, particularly in South Dakota, is nothing short of incredible. The Museum is right in the heart of The Black Hills in the Hill City, SD Visitor Center.

Go visit this place! Great exhibits! Great folks running the place all volunteers! Wonderful learning experience! The Black Hills of SD would not be what they are without these hardworking young men.

One of the few remaining, if not last, CCC Museum. Very informative, with antque reading material you can read, plenty of photos, tools, and so much more. The CCC made the Black Hills a tourist destination, building scenic roads, lakes, tunnels, and so much more!

Stop in! It’s free (donations accepted). A great little regional-focused exhibit about a great story in desperate times. The CCC left a lasting legacy on the landscape for everyone to benefit: hiking trails, forest roads, vistas and lookouts, picnic areas and campgrounds, among other conservation efforts, and not to mention our human resources and spirit. This exhibit and volunteer staff hopefully inspires you to think about the good things that government is capable of, and to get involved in resource conservation yourself!

Somewhat hidden on the second floor of the Hill City Visitor’s Information Center, the CCC Museum of South Dakota is a gem that, in my opinion, is a must-see for anyone who truly appreciates the many incredible landscapes in the Black Hills (as well as so many other locations in Nat’l Forests and Nat’l Parks around the country). We literally stumbled across this location while touring around as my eye caught the small ‘CCC Museum’ sign with just enough time to turn into the parking lot. We arrived just minutes before the Visitor Center closed and, even though the museum proper was closed, the person tending the visitor center unlocked the door and allowed us a quick visit; you do not get that kind of service and trust in many places these days! If you don’t know anything about the ‘CCC boys’ from FDR’s ‘new deal’, they are basically responsible for building our national parks and many only outdoor amenities in national forests and the like. Even though I have researched the CCC era for many years, this museum contains many artifacts that I had never seen before and was truly a pleasure to visit. Donations are encouraged so please stop by and support the curation of this incredible history!

Very helpful and friendly employees, with an interesting little museum. This tourist information center has a pamphlet for any & everything that you may want to do or go see in the Black Hills. And the museum is free.

Who knew how many different projects the CCC worked on, and at how many different locations? I never realized these guys were moved from state to state as projects were completed. Kinda makes you wonder why they don't use similar logic to employ those on welfare today. It would be a win win situation.
