This is a cool little attraction. It doesn’t cost a lot and it won’t take a large chinch of time out of your day. It took about 30 minutes to see everything! It’s a couple blocks from the market so not too far out there.

Tyler Dominick

Histoic location and apart of Charleston's history. Great little quick stop for info, located downtown.

$5 per person, $10 per group. Interesting building but not a lot to see.

Nathan Calcamuggio

Extremely nice and helpful staff. Child friendly exhibits. My children are 2 and 5 and they had a good time. It is small, but don't let the size fool you. The displays are modern in appearance and very informative. Take the time to talk to the docents and you will be happy with their breadth of knowledge about Charleston. It is a great place to get out of the sun and enjoy a part of history with hands on exhibits.

It's a small spot but a great little place for a short history lesson. Very interesting and the information about it is memorable. It's small so it doesn't take long,b that being said you don't have to rush if you find it particularly interesting as the your is self guided.

Latoya Britt-Johnson

A fun and educational stop. The interactive displays are a bit dated, but the information was easy to understand and truly fascinating. Caught the walking pirate tour out of here and loved it. Made Charleston a much more interesting place.

Wish it were larger...it was fascinating!

Amanda Szwarc

Lovely staff, but a bit hokey. They didn't have a ton of artifacts. I can see it being a better stop as a field trip, as parts of it were interactive, rather than as going as a tourist-- there are better historical sites in Charleston to see.

Adam Estes

Awesome lil museum

Steve Dampman

Very cool little museum. It’s all about the history and the experience. Well worth the $6 admission!

jeff testolin

We got in free without Charleston pass so I can't complain to heavily. It's the oldest spot in the area and consists of a single room, with museum style artifacts around the perimeter with info cards to learn about where ammo was housed. It took about 5 minutes for us, but we're not a heavy history family. Some cool facts, and if you have the pass and you're in the area, stop in. If not, move along.

Mike Hoehn

Somewhat disappointing for the price.

The Powder Magazine on Cumberland Street in Charleston is a great piece of history to be a part of experience. It is cool that there is a building that is from Charleston in 1713 that is still standing and that you can feel and walk through. You can feel all of the history and all of the years in the air that is part of the building. The vibe and atmosphere is made complete with really cool flute and pipe music that is continuously playing and gets you all excited like you stepped in a time machine. I really like all the displays and all of the historical perspective and education that is on display. I feel like I am able to learn something new every time I come here and there is just enough here that it does not take all day to see everything.

Jim Palmer

Cute museum gift shop in the lobby. Has wonderful gifts for kids under 14.
