This Museum belongs to the category of Art museum.
Moving artwork, fun for the whole family, donate for admission.
Beautiful setting by the beach; featured artists were so talented.
Very cool exhibits. Takes a short time to stroll through the art displays. Very knowledgeable staff.
This small art museum is free, $5 donation requested. We stopped in and it gave us a better understanding of local culture of the Myrtle Beach area. Be sure to not miss the small tv with a short cartoon history of a local hotel that became a hot spot for early rock and roll. Part of the Chitlin Circuit. Staff were very friendly.
The staff was super wonderful, the artwork was amazing. Can't wait to come again. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
We had the whole family with us. Main gallery closed. We gave a large donation and then we're told only one exhibit was open. We weren't told to expect so much nudity with a 4 year old and 9 year old boy with us. Lots of people sitting around this gallery that could have given caution.
Starting pottery classes. Can't wait
Really enjoyed the local artist show. Learned some local history too.
Me and my boyfriend had a great time here! The front desk ladies were so kind and helpful. The artwork/pieces that were featured were great. I also really liked that they had art studios, classes and also an area for artists to come in to work and be inspired. There was plenty to see and it's so amazing that this place is completely run off of donations. 10/10 would recommend.
great creative display of recycling plastic into 3d art...amazing ! Also bringing awareness to all the plastic in the oceans.I'm with them...Recycle,don't pollute our oceans ,beaches or any of our planet.
Very nice quaint museum with a great staff. The exhibits were great. Would definitely recommend this place.
The staff was friendly, free admission, the exhibits were really nice and informative. I also enjoyed the sitting area with a beach view. I love that they offer watercolor class, and pottery. I am definitely interested in going back and trying them out.
Great museim
Visited with my kiddos and loved the museum. The artwork was amazing and each installation drew you in, inviting you to stop and actually breathe it in. So many paintings were 'my favorite' but the quilt and the surrounding exhibit by Carolynne Miller was by far the best. It was beautiful and informative. The stories it detailed made me want to research it more. The quilt gave life to ppl I would never meet and an area that was being lost. It really is a must see!
Lovely small gem at the beach. Exhibits change and are always well done.
My nieces and I enjoyed the plastic artifacts exhibit. The ladies that work up front there were very knowledgeable and sweet.
Free to the public! Small two leveled building with two exhibits currently- surfing, swimming, water theme. Staff was friendly and engaging. It is something to do if you're in Myrtle Beach and need something to fill time.
Great museum with contemporary art exhibitions. Staff is very knowledgeable about every exhibition shown. They also have wonderful summer classes for children K through teens. Great fun for a sunny or rainy day!
Fascinating Lego exhibit. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Charming facilities. No fees or costs to view exhibits. Great place to go for a couple of hours without spending money.
I love local museums displaying the work of local artists. Whether you live in South Carolina or are just visiting, this gallery will give you a great perspective of the area. It's easy to visit, go and at least take a look!
Wonderful little museum featuring local artists and themes.
I love the exhibits
Small but a nice little gallery.
This museum is gorgeous. It's one of the few museums in the country with an ocean view. Their permanent pieces contain artist from the Carolinas. My family and I enjoyed this gem.
Fantastic Lego exhibit. Grandson loved it.
A hidden gem! Nicely displayed with talented local artists.
Really nice rotating galleries and themes. The addition of the pottery sculpting and wheel area downstairs is fantastic. Absolutely wonderful summer camps for kids.
Awesome free museum! I would highly recommend going. Summer 2019 they had art made out of things from the ocean and the beach - such a creative way to reuse items. Free Parking - air conditioning and lovely staff.
A nice small art gallery
Great experience. Exhibits change every 3 months. No cost, donation encouraged. Well adapted historic house with knowledgeable friendly employees, easy access, shaded parking, fascinating exhibits, things to engage some kids, and small interesting gift shop. A good quiet cool intellectually stimulating 2 hours. I would visit every summer.
Wonderful
Its awesome here! Make sure you donate!!
Went while the galleries on ocean pollution and Emily Weston were on display. Absolutely phenomenal setup. It's a smaller place, too, so we had a very warm and personable reception. We just stayed for the galleries, but I would also recommend checking their website as they offer a lot more as well! And, if you're on a budget, don't worry - it's free to walk on in and take a look. Magnificent place full of breathtaking art. I can't believe it wasn't swarming when we got there.
Original works of art from some locals. Homey feeling to it. Paintings were lovely.
Wonderful staff and very nicely layed out. Only been there once but will go back.
Hidden gem at the beach. Check out this place, you will love it!!
This is a great museum with a nice amount of interactive experiences. The Drew Brophy exhibit was very cool. I would definitely come again.
Free to visit, and there is usually something new to see because of the rotating exhibits.
One of my favorite places to visit. If you enjoy art I definitely recommend you to visit.
Beautiful and relaxing !!! Loved it !!
Wonderful place for the day.
I visit this place every time I go to Myrtle beach. There is always something interesting on exhibit.
Great little museum to spend a couple hours at. They have a very nice selection of art and the people working are very knowledgeable about the history and production! Will stop by again next time I’m in town!
great visit
Most enjoyable visit to the museum. Amazed at the quality of the exhibits.
Great free museum. Always changing we saw the Lego collection, lots for kids to do
Small, friendly, broad array of art styles, accessible and affordable visit! Anaya, multimedia, Gullah and Low Country Southern artists.
I really enjoyed my visit. Had to force my kids to leave.
Awesome Art exhibitions!
The staff was friendly and the exhibits were amazing. I really enjoyed the exhibit with the local artist that was running when my family visited. There were kids activities such as a scavenger hunt through the museum and some crafts. Definitely worth a stop!
Very nice collections of various forms of art. Well worth the time to visit.
A nice break from the tourist junk all over the place!
Perfect place to enjoy the arts!
Absolutely beautiful they were so sweet we helped them sort through markers and we even colored and had tea not to mention the exhibits are so well put together
Loved the Can't You Sea displays. Very beautiful.
Nice little place to go for a while to see different pieces of art. Some of the art was locally done plus seeing the art done by the kids is really cool too.
Nice big gallery! Even had snacks! Very close to the coast and a good view from the top!
Must see. Will re-learn. New outlook on plastics & irresponsible tossed trash.
Wonderful place to take in the history of Myrtle Beach
Excellent museum to visit.
Great art exhibitions and wonderful programs for children.
Free admisson nice staff. Great artists art work.
Wonderful Art! Great place to stop when in town!
This free attraction was fun and close to our hotel. They have 10 parking spots and strange hours. The exhibits were nice.
Interactive and thought provoking. A great time and kid friendly
Always free, always awesome.
I love the art space here! Definitely glad we came to this museum. The ladies at the desk were more than inviting, very helpful, and had great energy. We took part in some delicious tea, cookies, and coloring and got featured on their FB page. We got some greatly priced handmade jewelry that we wore out, so if you can appreciate attention to detail, I recommend visiting their gift shop. They have some art classes, so if you're local, take a gander at what they offer. Great place to go for inspiration and some history on South Carolina.
Very pleasant Art Museum
Went for the ocean plastics installation. Definitely some serious misinformation being spread through the gallery. No scientific sources or evidence based claims to be seen. We need to be concerned with fishing, not plastic straws in the ocean. "A survey by scientists with Ocean Cleanup, an organization working to develop technologies to reduce ocean plastic, found that at least 46 percent of the plastic in the “Great Pacific garbage patch,” a floating gyre the size of France made up of plastic, comes from fishing nets. It’s worth noting that miscellaneous discarded fishing gear makes up the majority of the rest. World Animal Protection reports that 640,000 tons of gear are lost and pollute oceans each year. But this abandoned fishing gear goes well beyond pollution. “Ghost nets,” for example, are a danger to marine habitats and sea life. In 2016 there were 71 reported cases of whales caught in abandoned fishing gear off the U.S. Pacific coast." While ditching plastic straws may make you feel good inside, the BEST thing we can do to help marine life and the planet is to leave fish off our plates and switch to a compassionate vegan diet. Overall, the staff was very knowledgeable and friendly.
Great customer service and art
Great little museum with regularly roatating exhibits. Always worth a trip - some awesome local historic and modern art.
Caught several exhibits before their final day. Sherry Martin's watercolors and mixed media were so full of depth, color, light and shadow. Seeing her Roots exhibit was a great opportunity for us.
I love this art museum. We visit each time while we are on vacation. Every exhibit is so unique and tells a story. Nice little gift shop. Very friendly staff. We took the kids to a suncatcher program and each one made a suncatcher to bring home. The program director was very friendly and you can tell she enjoys art and her livelihood. This charming little gem is worth the visit. No admission charge but they do take donations.
Excellent
We always look forward to visiting every time we go to Myrtle Beach
Great local museum. So glad we stumbled upon it. People working were friendly and inviting.
small museum but nice event!
Maybe certain times are better, but I thought it was boring. It was just a bunch of simple artwork that looked like a child did it and uninspired quilts that all looked the same, not to mention it was very small. I get that it's free, but it was not worth the stop in. The staff was also not very friendly. I would only come here if there was a particular activity or event happening.
Lovely old 'Summer Cottage' with interesting local art. Cookies & ice tea are available for purchase on the porch.
Loved the art work that was on display, even got some great gifts and projects to do with my daughter. Would go back any time.
It was an eye opener to see and learn about all the plastic waste in our oceans.
Amazing local museum. Always bringing in great local artists, has a great education center and helpful guides!
Loved the high school exhibit
George ours local art.
Beautiful art
Interesting.
Exquisite staff, the art director or teacher Ms. Tracey is just amazing!!!
A wonderful place! I highly recommend it
If you are new to Myrtle Beach I honestly suggest that you go to this place, it is free and they only run off of donations and I think $5 or $10 is perfect and if you want to give more then that's cool too. My mother and I went here during one of their secondary School exhibits. The student's artwork were so beautiful very detailed and super high level in my opinion. The location of this Gallery overlooks the sea. This place took my breath away.
Very nice small museum. Really liked the local artists displayed. Great tearoom at the back and the staff was just super. Great place to spend a little time.
So much history here it is free but its encouraged to donate to help persevere the museum.... Awesome exhibits and Friendly people in here. We will be back here to see what more is done here.
Never had been to the Museum. Enjoyed the local artists and their work. Nice little break area with cookies and drink
Beautiful oceanfront museum offering changing exhibits! Love opportunity to to meet artists!

A true diamond in Myrtle Beach. Great escape that reveals a diverse culture.
Disappointing
Beautiful art museum right at the beach! Exhibits change frequently.
A must see! It is free and very well run. Always something different when we go here and it is obviously passionate about education and showing the art South Carolina has to offer.
Nice little local art museum.
Great show of local art.
Always thought provoking and often spiritually renewing exhibits.
Nice
Exhibit on pollution of ocean was eye opening and very I informative
What a lovely resource
Awesome
Nice
We were able to visit this Myrtle Beach Art Museum when they featured the "The Art of the Brick" exhibit, very cool! And we were met with a friendly staff. Add this to your next Myrtle Beach vacation!
A place of truly remarkable art work. A small intimate venue where the abstract art makes big noise.
Excellent volunteers!
Amazing ambiance, great art exhibits and wonderful taste of art collections. Helping support art as well as the coastal community
The Making Waves exhibit was totally tubular! Drew Brophy's art is an eye-poppingly colorfull experience. Especially his work with sacred geometry!
Beautiful art made from man's discards. Humanity should be so ashamed of ruining our environment for the present and future generations. If we don't do something right now to correct this mess God help us.
Beautiful little meseum... My son loves art so we brought him him and he really enjoyed it.
Small local museum that features interesting local artist. Changes exhibits so it's always interesting. The architecture alone of the building is beautiful and worth the visit. Used to be a summer residence and they've repurposed it wonderfully. They have affordable classes and lectures to enjoy. Also a small gift shop to browse. Last time we were there it was by 'donation'. Put this on your rainy day list.
Wonderful exhibit. Flow of art work is perfect. I joined and enjoyed my membership benefits. Come see this museum!
Friendly staff and diverse art displays made this a very nice outing. We were looking for something to do before going to lunch, and this was lovely.
Excellent museum, very impressed. Knowledgeable staff, helpful and enthusiastic. The detail of the buildings themselves, the curated exhibits, make it well worth a visit. Be sure to check out the gift shop, as well as the refreshments available for purchase. I look forward to returning when I am in the area again! Well done!
My family and I visit the art museum every time we vacation at Myrtle Beach. It's a great, free experience, and something we all look forward to!
For a small regional art museum I feel that this museum is excellent. I was especially impressed by the work of the high school students. In my opinion as a husband of a painter I thought that the quality of the work was quite good for young people. Their written descriptions were profound . They described what they were trying to accomplish and what they were feeling when they were composing the work I feel that credit should be given to their teachers at the museum. John P Kohler, MD.
Great art, classes, etc.. a gem!!!
I love this art museum on the south end of Myrtle Beach. They have a Rembrandt sketch on display until December 2017. There is no cost, although they do have a donation box. The staff is always helpful and friendly. If you don't want to walk up the stairs, there is an elevator you can use.
They were under construction an only one exhibit so not much to look at.
My son thoroughly enjoyed the Lego exhibit...the place is great for kids and adults...and they had a great seating area for me to sit and look at the ocean while my son played with the Legos for as long as he wanted..great day!
A great little museum with some extrordinary pieces. Looking forward to revisiting as other artists are on display.
Incredible little museum, well worth the visit
Great museum. Exhibits will change in September. I always look forward to seeing what is coming next.
Nice Art Museum
This is a great small art museum. FREE admission, although donations appreciated. The museum changes its collections every few months.
One of the top activities on our family's Myrtle Beach vacation list was a visit to this museum. The staff members are all warm and delightfully passionate about their artistic offerings. The historic Springmaid House, residence to the museum, adds to the overall enriching visual experience. The newest display, Celia Person's art, not only exhibits great talent and skill but evokes in the viewer, a desire for a deeper experience with the mysterious cultures from her travels. How valuable to be transported to remote locations visually and enjoy the emotional experience of ancient places filled with spiritual echoes.
The exhibit's are beautiful, unusual and thought-provoking...and free to view!
Free, gorgeous, and pleasant staff
Its a nice small museum by local artists. A good stop to and see local talent and purchase.
Personable and friendly staff; educational.
Just something to do out if the norm...the art work was amazing
Second summer of taking kids from a daycare here for a field trip. Our kids enjoy it so much and love coming here! Staff are excellent at what they do and are patient with kids!!! 2019 Summer of "What Do You Sea" kids hot to tour and then use recycled plastic items to make their own art.
Small but very nice exhibits...well worth the time!
Good small museum with great displays.
This is an awesome experience. I went for the Drew Brophy exhibit and it was AMAZING. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable.
I loved the layout of the building. It allowed for each piece of art to have its own focus without distraction, but there was plenty to see with every turn.
Great place beautiful artwork!!!
