The museum is new and has an exhibit on the history of Florence County. Its a big well lit space with superior presentation and signage. There are also many temporary exhibits throughout the year to keep locals coming back. The museum offers art classes for all ages, family days and docent led tours too.

Bob Jones

Good displays and helpful staff.

It is a very informative place with bits of almost every county in Florence and beyond. Some civil war artifacts as well as some fossils that were found on Edisto Island. Of course, there some things about Francis Marion. We did not see the other half (where portraits, and paintings are displayed.). We do plan to return soon!

Beautiful museum. I finally got around to going inside and was interested and impressed with the exhibits they have both inside and outside the building. I have always enjoyed history and there is lots to see about the area in the museum. There is no charge to visit and parking is available for free on the street or in several parking lots nearby.

It's not as big as most musuems but it has a lot of history and art work. 2 floors to be exact. They have bathrooms on both floors and they have an elevator for those unable to take the stairs. Admission is free and parking is on the side of the building. When you get the time stop by.
