REVIEWS OF Children's Museum of the Lowcountry IN South Carolina

Thomas Woodard

Loved it! Had a great time with the kids. Would definitely go again.

Zen Riley23

This place is always good for the kids

Matthew Ray

Way too expensive in regards to the available activities. The facilities were unfortunately unclean to include the restrooms. I was expecting way more after I had read the reviews but was unpleasantly dissatisfied with the establishment. There are some great children's museums out there like the one in Raleigh, NC, but not this one.

Chris Barlow

A little less educational than I had thought, it's pretty awesome for little kids. From a playground castle, to a giant water table, to a grocery store with working cash registers; this place is a wonderful experience for little ones with a great outlet for imagination. They even have an art studio with paints, floam, and scraps for building. Well work the $12 admission currently in place.

Archana Pamadi

Fun place for kids. More than a typical museum, it is good activities collection center for kids. Very well structured and thoughtfully done.

Amber Latten-Jones

My kids loved thid place. They played until the place closed. They have so many nice activities fir the children. Very cute.

Barbie E

I'm not comparing this children's museum to any others, so the four star is based off of what it is. It's a museum filled with children's play things the size of a city block. Pretty cool.Though you can incorporate STEAM into anything, half of the museum didn't emphasize STEAM. Outside was fun. We built a huge Lego house and then ate our lunch inside. We almost took our nap in there until these savage children trespassed on our property, invaded our home, and stripped it bare.

Christina Madle

I was scared to go because of the reviews but this place is amazing. I have been to the one in Raleigh and Columbia and this by far is as equal. The staff was so kind and helpful. The outside at this location was way better than the other two places. Due to having a 2 year old she was able to enjoy everything the big kids could do. I asked my four kids ranging from 7 to 2 and they said this was better than monkey joes and outslide in. Also for a family of 6 is 95$ for the year.

Jessie Flo

Great place to take elementary age kids. Very interactive, art room with drawing, painting and crafts, medieval play room with costumes and stick horses, create room where they race cars they can make out of Legos or make mazes on the wall, water room where they can play in water and learn about water hydraulics and bridges of Charleston, Pirate play room with a pirate ship and a few costumes, a Grocery Store room modeled after Publix where they can "shop" and "check out" groceries, a Toddler room at the end where toddlers can play, and an outside play place where kids can play with big Legos a big Connect Four and a few other games. Kids had a lot of fun, it was educational play. My one knock on our visit was the water room had the rubber floor removed at the time to have newer rubber floor added. The water was spilling over the tanks and floor was very slippery and several kids fell.

Mike Savage

Was awesome for my child we spent 2.5 hrs and he still didnt want to leave

Shawn B

I took my 3 cousins, ages 6, 8, and 9. They had so much fun. Even after 2 hours of running around, playing, they still weren't ready to leave!

Fina Cruz

Friendly staff. Smaller than the one I went to in California but this place had a lot of different sections of my children to run and play.

christae Smith

Our 4 year old had a great time here. Lots of age appropriate, hands on activities for kids that age. Her favorite sections seemed to be the grocery store and pirate ship.

Vikas O'Reilly-Shah

Adequate for a couple hours entertainment on a rainy day.

Madi Hankinson

The children's museum here is amazing! The price isn't bad either. From the kids workshop, to the pirate ship, grocery store, art area, and garden it's a must visit with kids

Miss Cali

I visited the children's museum in Charleston, SC for time today and fell in love with how much fun my toddler had.... She had so much fun that I decided to have her 2nd Birthday Party there at the children's museum

Jay Gill

A great little place with so much personality. Brought my 7 and 1 yr old daughters here for some much needed fun and exploration. We ventured here and to some other close shops and restaurants near this downtown area (very pleased). People are so nice here and helpful.

Trevor Wylie

Neat place for my 2 and 4 year olds. The water play area is always a big hit as is the grocery. My 8 month old even got into the small water table and the soft play area. My only complaint is upkeep as several of the exhibits are beginning to show signs of wear. However, we will keep coming back!

Danny Wahlquist

Lots of fun for all ages!

Jennifer Gerry

Was great for very small children. Under 8 is most appropriate

Natalia Call

My 20 month old daughter really enjoyed going there and they have so much to do for the kids. Its definitely worth going there.

Karsheika Gathers

Kids had a ball ages 1, 4 and 7. We got in for $1 by showing our EBT (snap) card. I think it's really awesome that they offer admission at that price so that ALL people of different economical backgrounds can enjoy the museum. Thank you!

Rachel Kiser

Great museum that is 100% interactive for the kids!! There are all different fun themed rooms for kids to run around and enjoy. Fun for the whole family, but most exhibits are targeted towards younger kids (3-10)

Alex DeLuna

Absolutely love this place. So glad I found it. My 4 year old loved it!! He can't wait to go back. It promotes creativity, imagination, critical thinking, inquisitiveness, and most of all fun play. Loved each and every part of the museum. If you are an EBT recipient, then you get a discount ( which I am thankful for, because we can now afford to go). Would recommend this place to anyone.

Samantha Windham

Seemed cool but was a bit messy and unorganized and there didn't seem like there was any staff there handle the mess. For example, the Publix exhibit, app of the food was in shopping carts already.. and the 35 mins we spent in that room, not one employee came in to fix the mess.... However I also went later in the day.

De Sc

Really dirty looking floors and carpets. Definitely do not want my little one crawling or new walker so close to that filthy carpet. Did not see any workers except for the person you pay. Not sure why it is called a museum (?) Really overpriced for what is there. Lots of better parks in Charleston to play in for free.

Mitchel Fox

My kids had a blast. Played for hours. Anything from hand painting, outside play, castle play and just overall good environment for kids to play and get along with each other. We'll go back. They also offer a discount for people receiving Medicaid. A year pass is really steeply discounted.

Kelly Fradin

Lots of broken and rundown things, felt unclean and understaffed. Kids enjoyed.

Dennis Smith

Our Grandchildren love to come here!

Andrew Butler

We really enjoyed, so did our 2 Year old. Definitely more of a playplace than a museum, but worth it. Water room was great and so was the grocery store. Staff was helpful and courteous. Offered teacher discount, rare to find these days. Also very clean.

WindKissed Woodyj500

My kids enjoyed this visit. We started going when they were toddlers, and they still have fun there 5 years later.

cris cris

Nice place for spending a few hours with the kids. Some areas are pretty nice and clean. Some of them are pretty old and dirty. They also have some interesting guided activities for kids.

Richard Hayes

What a great place to take your children. You can keep them occupied all morning if you want. Lots of Hands-On activities.

Melanie Grace

My 16- month old loved the water play room and the toddler area. My only complaint would be pricing. Children under 3 can really only get much use out of half of the rooms, especially if there are older kids there. Pricing should reflect that instead of being less for one and under only. Still fun though.

Maksim Voloskov

Good value for the money. I wish it was a little cleaner and brighter inside.

Nia Love

I wish the museums in Columbia had as many options to pay for low income families as this one done. If you have WIC or Snap you and up to five individuals in your party can get in for $1 per party. That's not everyone pays $1 per person, that's per family less than 6. I tested this out myself and it's true. The museum itself was so much fun, a kid's paradise. There is a castle and pirate ship you can climb in. There is an outdoor play area, a water area, an art area. I honestly can't wait to go back!

Anna Gore

Great place for children to express their creativity.

Erika Myers

My baby had a great time here.

Bensin Ardor

My son could have run around in this place for days, and been perfectly content. (He's going to be 2 soon.) They have a pretty big selection of activities for kids to get into: finger-painting, crafting, and even little experimental creations. My son's favorite part however, was the massive indoor castle for kids to run around in. They have little capes and crowns for kids to wear to help boost their imaginative fun, and lots more. If you plan on chasing your kid around the castle, prepare yourself as you'll be hunched over and squatting most of the time haha.

Nathan Wheeler

Very fun location with many activities for children or grandchildren. Well worth checking out.

Amanda Black

Compared to others we have visited this children's museum is not as clean feeling. I am sure they clean, but with kids coming through ALL DAY LONG I think they should have someone keeping up with it more. Also not as educational as some. For the price though it is a good place to go and let the kids burn off energy.

Jennae Faucheux

They should sell shirts here that say "I had more fun than my kid!" So many interactive exhibits, a cool water table room and a huge pirate shop for the kids to climb on. Don't forget the other side. There is a castle to climb into and a room for crafts. There is also a gated area for kids under three that has toys and puzzles they can play with. Also, keep your sticker because if you leave you can come back the same day. Came into use when my daughter threw a tantrum and we had to leave. :)

Ash ley

Best place ever! Blows other Children's museums out of the water. We spent the entire day there and didn't have a moment of boredom.

Whitney R

We can’t say enough good things about this! Our kids, ages 2, 6, and 11 all enjoyed it and didn’t want to leave, even after 4 hours there. Very educational (yay!) yet encourages free play and independent discovery AND has a magical bonus of WEARING THEM OUT in the best possible way. This was our second visit and my kids have insisted that this is a must-do any time we’re in this beautiful town. Oh, and my parents got a discount as retired teachers— how cool is that? Love love love this place!

Sam Ervin

Fantastic! Father of 4. Girls all under 10 they were entertained.

Afton Matthews

Fun little museum surrounded by history! With a parking garage nearby it really increases the accessibility to a museum that's downtown. My kiddo especially loved the water room and the supermarket, though he enjoyed the entire experience overall. I was pretty impressed by the castle room.

Myrtle Vaughn

Adorable little place. Great place to bring the kids (young kids) for the day. Best for age groups from toddler to around 10. The do a great job of maintaining the facility and they offer little classes for the kids to enjoy. It's a great day trip or afternoon hangout. And quite reasonably priced.

Cassandra Rose

Great play place for children 8 and under. Lots to stimulate the mind.

evelynn grace

Great place to take children of all ages!! My daughters and her class went on a field trip there and they had sooooooo much fun!!! There is a infant/toddler area!! An arts and craft room where the kids can paint, cut and glue things, play with magnetic shapes and whatever activity is available that day! A castle room where kids can run around, play dress up, and pretend they are doing a play!! There is a imagine and create room where kids can make Lego cars and race them or they can build things out of different giant foam shapes!! There is a water room that has different what tables that kids can play around with little boats! Plus there is a giant pirate ship room where kids can pretend to be pirates and rom around and play!!!

John Stevenson

My kids could of spent all day here. It took them two hours just to get through the first three themed rooms. Be ready for a crowd but there are many indoor activities and an enclosed outdoor space. A definite stop when in town.

Austin Santos

This place is so wonderful for little ones! There are so many activities to keep kids busy! I have never been to such an interactive children's museum. We spent two hours at this location and we were engaged and stimulated the entire time with plenty of activities left to be experienced. This children's museum is a great way to spend the day with your kids.

Peggy Greene

My niece loved it! They have plenty of seating for the parents. And the staff is friendly

Katie Storm

SO MUCH FUN! We had family visiting with their young children, and we had heard great things about this museum, so we have it a shot. We were NOT disappointed. The staff was full of smiles. The cost was reasonable. The location was awesome (with lots of yummy spots for lunch within a short walking distance). As an adult I think that I had as much fun as the kids. Incredible. I hope I have an excuse to visit again soon.

Tamika Whitted

Really nice place loved the art section is cool! Grocery section amazing for learning math and about various types of food.

ruby met

Kids will have a lot of fun!

So we are planning on going to the Children's Museum on our day to Charleston...Of course I had to do my research and check the reviews. So this is a 5 star rating for the affordable Information That I found on the website! The first thing I noticed people saying is that it was not worth the money, but on the website it mentions the price being $10 for local and $12 for non...to me that's pretty affordable and I am a low income family, so I read on and this is what I would like families to know if you don't already, it is only $1 for upto 6 family members if you have an EBT card and receive SNAP benefits....even better you can also get a annual membership for $9.50 if you qualify for these benefits or receive WIC! So from the reviews I take it is a hit and miss personal opinion based, so we will see for ourselves and come back to review..but for $1 I don't think we can go wrong! I hope this will be helpful for other families interested in going!

Andrea Handley

The children's museum is fun and interactive. I have definitely been to other children's museum that were better, but my boys had a good time. They especially liked the cattle and crafting areas. The water area was a little bit of a let down. Overall decent thing for kids to do if they are young. Older kids will not enjoy this museum very much at all.

Matthew Coleman

Go early! Maybe it was because it was a rainy day, but this place got craaaazy busy when we went on Friday. Luckily we got there right as it opened so the little dude got to run around and try everything before the hordes showed up a couple hours later. Overall pretty awesome little museum. The Pirate ship and Castle areas are alot of fun and the water table is very educational, great physical exhibit of the water cycle.

Ursula Dunlop

More of an indoor playground for kids then a children's museum. But a great place to visit on a hot SC day.

Joe Leopold

Modern fun for children

James Overby

Burgers made like years past. Fast service food hot and well made. Will go AGAIN often and suggest to friends.

McKenzie Carter

Loved our sons birthday party! McCown and Leea were great with helping planning and coordinating!

Troy Cribb

We had a really good time here, but I'm not sure it should be called a museum. It's a building with 4-5 different themed play rooms and an outside area with more play areas. The outside play areas do encourage thought play. It's a good place to take your child to burn off some energy

sonya sessions

Amazing and affordable fun time for the whole family.

Sarah Zito

It was a nice place and had a lot to offer. The summer camps ruined our experience. It was over crowded and the older kids were not mindful of the little ones. It would have been nice if someone posted online that large groups of campers would be present on specific days. So we could have planned our visit accordingly. I would like to return once school is back in session.

Brian Knight

It is an excellent venue for children's Birthday parties. It's easy on mom and dad since they don't have to worry about setting up and cleaning up. Also, they have a very friendly staff that keep the kids engaged with multiple activities. My nieces have had 3 Birthday parties here so far!

RJ Walters

Get family visit, especially for the little ones. Worth checking out.

Theorose Stebbins

We always have a good time there.

Troy Knier

Fun place for the kids, I would recommend going as soon as they open. Gets busy quick

James Shou

The pirate ship inside was pretty cool. Lots of things for kids 10 and under. The castle was really tight for adults but then again it was made for kids. None the less, I had a great time as king.

Mahmoud Dahy

Great place to take our two year to play while on vacation in Charleston! He loved the pirate ship and the water area. They also have an art room. There is a separate area for babies and toddlers to play as well. Would go back again!

cynthia diton

Very wonderful place for children!

Michael Whitcomb

Awesome! I would have lost my mind in this place as a child. 2 story castle. Water. Arts and crafts. Outdoor area with a mock fire truck. Rotating exhibit. All hands on. Great fun.

Christine Garrett

We came here while visiting Charleston from out of town and were extremely impressed with how much there was to do for our 2-year old. Everything was clean and well-organized. Our son loved playing at the water station as well as shopping and running around the pirate ship. The separate area they had for toddlers under 3 was a nice addition to not have to worry about older kids being too rough.

Jimmy Houser

What a fun place for the kids! Our son had a wonderful experience here and we will definitely be coming back!

Gabriela Ortiz

The name can be misleading. It's not really a museum or educational. It's basically a playhouse with different themes. It had 3 main play areas. It was a little pricey for what it was. $10 for my 2 year old to walk around and another $10 for me to chase him was too much. Still had fun though. But for what it was, save your $20 and go to the playground.

Megan Herman

My kids loved it! We had a blast. Loved the history nearby and parking garage across the street made access easy.

Sundari Mohanakrishnan

Very old set of displays and play items for kids. Most of it looks worn out and now well maintained. The kids shopping cart is a novelty and kids enjoyed. Rest of it is not worth it for the price you pay, especially when you are from a different state!! No return for money!

Alyssa Modisette

This is my daughters favorite place to go! She is 4 and it keeps her very entertained. We ended up buying a membership and it has been well worth it with the rainy weekends! They have many different activities or "adventure rooms" such as a pirate ship room, castle room, arts & crafts room, and also an interesting water room!

Theodore Schmitt

For small kids with a simple mind this place is the best and easiest fo of entertainment. They'll be busy running around playing with everything for hours.

Steven Davis

Great place for kids of all ages. They have different "themed" areas from retail store, medieval castle, to an art area and more. The water area is a favorite and you learn and see the science behind the water cycle as it applies to the low country. There is an outdoor component with different play areas as well. A great educational play experience and well worth the admission costs. Better yet, get an annual pass and enjoy it all year!

Suzy Hirshorn

Small museum but good exhibits. Some were clearing showing their age and wear/tear, but it was a great morning activity on our family vacation!

Michael Horvath

A little small, with limited activities. More of a large indoor playground with art-room as compared to some other museums I have been to. Both children, 5 & 3 really enjoyed themselves in the 'Super Market' as well as the Castle. The water room can get a little hectic with too many things going on that no one area can generate the attention and modeling it deserves. We went on a rainy Charleston day while on vacation and it satisfied the children's need to get out some energy. I just would have liked a little more interaction.

Graham Hunter

My kids (3 & 6) had a blast. I got tired just watching

Constance Allegood

My older son who is 9 loves all of the exhibits. The staff was super friendly and the snack/gift shop at the entrance was really nice! The “gem stones” for purchase was a really fun treat for my son as well! The nursing area is very nice as well! Great comfy chairs to take a break in with my 2 month old!

Brock Baughman

My 2 year old son had a blast here, everything is hands on and was also clean which was nice. There were a few things not working properly but all in all it was well worth it.

Jayson Wingfield

Tons of fun activities for the kids

Tiffany Dorris

We had a family pass so free is a great price! My 7 and 9 year old boys loved running around the castle and she pirate ship. My daughter who is 5 had fun at the water table and in the playdough room. It was a great trip for us.

Zach May

Love it! The kids had a blast!!

Allen Gonczol

Lots of great activities for children.

Mersivette Figueroa

Love taking my grandson here so much fun for the whole family

Amanda Carter-Jeffries

Great place for activities and discovery! We were visiting Charleston for a few days and our little one (2 yrs old) was getting antsy with all the sight seeing, because lets face it that's not fun when you're a small fry. I saw that the museum was recommended and decided to check it out. This is a GREAT experience for your little ones. And it was just the break we all needed from the touristy things around town. Reasonably priced and they offer military and education discounts.

kristy smith

My children loved it. Crowded, but fun for them. Front desk was very pleasant and helpful.

Jennifer Redden

My daughter is 10 months old, crawling, and able to pull herself up and walk with a walker. She loved it here. We were able to spend 1.5 hours here before she wore herself out. They have a room just for babies too. My only suggestion is to have a staff member at the baby area reminding adults to remove their shoes as the rules request (or a bigger sign). Can't really hold that against the museum though.

David Skerritt

Fair pricing and a fun time. My children have enjoyed multiple visits and always learn something new. Exhibits are well done and offer a lot of interaction. You can do some art, play in a castle or pirate ship, learn about how water moves, or play in the grocery store with working registers.

Jessy Sellars

Amazing little place for small kids! It is expensive for admission but if you get the membership it would be paid off in just 3 visits! My daughter cries everytime we have to leave. There are some staff who are at the top of their game which is good to me. Love going here. The only bad thing is that I wish they had more toys for the toddlers

Orlanda Williams

My 5 year old daughter loves this place.

Ammie Barnett

Affordable and fun for younger kids. The full steam program was fun

katie maxey-brock

Nice exhibits but poor set up, it was too small of an area with lots of foot traffic.

La Wanda Smith

Granddaughter had a great time. The machines need some repair but it didn't seem to bother her or the other children playing there.

Chris Lancaster

We visited while we were on vacation. We couldn’t go to the beach due to the rain and we thought this would of been a good place to bring our 4.5 year old son because it had great reviews . Boy were we disappointed. The place is run down. Every room had something broken . The art room was a disaster. The grocery store was a disaster. Items in the water room weren’t working. The pirate room just had a boat, nothing to play with or use your imagination, same with the village room. The outside play area was lacking all around. We paid $30 dollars and our son was bored in 30-45 minutes . I actually wanted to leave after 10 minutes and get a refund. We live in Columbia and have a membership to EdVenture and we go all the time and our son will spend hours playing there, same when we visit Marbles Kids Museum in Raliegh. If you have been to these places then you will be disappointed in what this place has to offer .

Briana Brown

So beautiful and My sister (3 years old) and her friend (boy 4yrs old ) had fun and even I had fun! It was so beautiful with creative exhibits and nice fun things my favorite was definetelty the grocery store , pirate ship, and even the castle . There were fun little centers with a lot of thought put into it . Really recommend.

Kimberly Rogers

The membership here is definitely worth it, for our family it pays for itself after just 2 or 3 visits. Some exhibits are permanent, with just some minor changes/ updates every now and then. Some rooms have exhibits that change more often. The art room has lots of materials to explore and offer a "surprise" material every week. There's a variety of activities offered free (with admission) and others that are a small extra charge. My kids love coming here, and I love how much they can learn through playing here.

Kathryn Goreczny

Visited the museum during a trip to Charleston recently to see if it would be an activity suitable for my one and three year old granddaughters. The staff was very welcoming and graciously gave my husband and I a tour! There are several different themed rooms offering young children many activities in which to explore, create and use their imaginations. Our granddaughters visited the museum and had a wonderful time!

Chris Ahlstrom

Good for kids under six.

Mio Diaz

It was pretty busy when we went, around 11 am, but not enough to deter us from having a great time. We were able to spend a few hours there before heading back to the hotel. My 2 year old had a great time in the castle, outside area, waterplay section, and the grocery play store!

Tiffany Miller

Good experience for the kids.

Robby Lingenfelter

My kids love this place. We buy the year pass every year .

Alessia Mogavero

My kids, 8 and 10 years old, loved this museum! There's an art room (where children can create freely, draw, paint, play with magnets or with colorful sand), a pirate room, a supermarket, a medieval castle, a water room that teaches evaporation, condensation and precipitation and how to light up the city through turbines in a dam (so fun for kids to see it all so clearly!), and a big outdoor space. There's also a separate spacious room for kids 3 and under. $30-some dollars for 4+ hours of playing&learning was money very well spent!

Jason Gant

Great place to bring your active rug rats! Multiple themed rooms for them to run, play, learn, and construct. Safe environment with ample amounts of convenient parking.

David Weydert

My son (7) absolutely loved coming here!

Candice Kapets

A fun place for the youngsters ... Both inside and outside.

Paula Graca

Loved the activities available.

Chadwick Clark

This place is amazing. I was doing some work there so I got to experience a lot more than just a guest. The commitment of the individuals that work at this museum is extraordinary! They literally brought sleeping bags to work so that they could be present while the remodel took place. Jason puts more effort and attention into his job than I have ever seen anyone put in. Then there are the exhibits. I am simply overwhelmed at the love that pours from this place.

Jeffy Team

My niece just had her sixth birthday party here it was so much fun my kids and I had a blast all of our friends and family had a great time there was so much fun stuff to do the staff was very friendly very professional very welcoming and helpful we will definitely be revisiting the Children's Museum downtown again my son actually wants to have his 10th birthday party here now!!

Josh Wurdemann

Our son loved it! Great place for a rainy day

Cristin G

Fun, seemed over priced for out of state guests. If you are local and are a member then worth it

Daniel Wingfield

Plain & simple fun! This is a great place for "kids" of any age! None of the technology that attracts a lot of people, but there is plenty for the imagination to run wild!

Randy Mann-stone

Loved the musuem and our grandson had a great time !!

Rachel Gonzalez

Fun place to take the kids to play and learn

Volker Niemz

Expensive prices for 4 small rooms to play in and very dirty. The kids can eat everywhere so you will see chips and dirt everywhere. We travel through the hole US and this is by far nothing that can call itself Children’s museum! Keep away and spend your money for something else!

Paige Cuthbertson

Super fun for young children. Less of a museum than a big play area with different themed rooms though.

matthew hood

Our kids had a blast. The shopping and Castle area were the best. Well worth your time to just let little ones play play play.

Spiritual Guidance

Not mant activities for the children. It needs am upgrade

Shelby Redman

My son thinks this is the greatest place ever!

Amanda Campbell

My kids love the children's museum.. So much fun for all ages!

Evan Harrison

Great place for the kids to explore and play

Brian Lee

I wasn't sure if this was going to be enough entertainment for the kids or not... I was very wrong! They would have stayed from hours upon hours if we had let them! Really really great use of space and it even wore the kids out for a nice long nap!

A. Y. Terrell

It was a summer afternoon, my daughter and I decided to visit here. First of all, the location of this musuem is located near other great places to visit and learn more about the history of Charleston. Upon walking into the doors here, i enjoyed the miniature door for my 3 year old daughter to enter. It instantly made her feel like the big girl she is. Next, as we walked in, we were imnediately presented with the front desk where we paid and entered on our left. First, i notice the summer camp program available here because of the group of kids having fun with their leaders, looked like kids that was volunterring or working there for the summer. I could appreciate this museum offer that for teenagers by the way. My daughter had soo much fun playing with water, exploring the ship like a pirate, and most of all she LOVED shopping at the miniture supermarket as well. She liked the fact that she could push around her own cart, fill it up with items and then, check her own items out, just as she would in the store while shopping with Mommy. My daughter loved this place so much, that she beginned to cry when it was time to go. Since she is home schooled, i liked that i could bring her here to learn alot and be around other children at the same time. I would definietly recommend this placr to anyone that is Charleston, SC and is looking for some entertainment for their toddlers. More reviews from me at #ayterell

James Smith

Our son absolutely loved it here. Although he’s only 2, there were plenty of things for him to do. This is an excellent to bring your kid to let them run around and play. He was sad we had to leave after 2 hours of playing. There are so many more things here he’ll be able to experience in a few years once he’s bigger. We’ll definitely be back.

Sam Goldgeier

Very fun museum with rooms with water tables, climbing areas, smaller play areas for toddlers, arts room, and more. It seems very well maintained as well.

Jessica Wilson

My child loves it here. Although it is small, we enjoy coming here for an hour or two. It is a great way to "beat the heat".

Aldwin Roman

Way too crowded with school groups. Some of the activities were broken or in disrepair.

Or Bar-Ziv

Nice place to spend time with children. #Museum #childrenmuseum #kids #babies #play #fun

What a wonderful place! Visiting from out of town and both the 2 year old and 8 year old with us loved it! So many creative and educational (and FUN) activities for the kids. They also credited our entry fees towards an annual family membership which made the decision to get buy one easy. Would definitely recommend and will go back next time we are in Charleston!

Too busy on a rainy day but kids loved it. Unfortunately, most parents don't watch their kids and they push and run over other children.

This was incredibly fun for my 4.5 and 1.5 year old sons. The water table was probably the best room. My oldest spent a couple hours playing there and would have gladly stayed longer.

Richard Mertz

Great place for small kids. Each room has something that every child likes. Joined because my granddaughter (18 months) had such a great time.

So much fun, kidos love the pirate ship

Aurelio Rios

They shouldn't charge for adults, then it would be worth admission price.

Nicole Olson

My son loved the water room and the painting area. We spent over 2 hours.

Fun place to bring the kids

JOSEPHINE valentin

My granddaughter loved it.

A bit disappointing. It’s very small, warn out, dirty and not much for kids to do comparing to similar museums in other towns. On top of that, the adults get charged as much as the kids.

Sarah Corley

Kids loved it! Highly reccomend!

Meghan MacNeil

I’m a nanny of a 2,4, and 6 year old and this is our favorite place to go in the area. So much fun, clean, and well managed.

My kids had an absolute BLAST at the museum one afternoon on our recent vacation. A pleasant surprise to find that Father's Day was free admission for Dads. We had a wonderful time bonding here as a family. Would highly recommend it to visitors and in-town folks that haven't made it past yet.

We love the children’s museum! It is a fun place to spend the day with your children!
