Average Rating:

DESCRIPTION

You will be able to see the reviews of real people who buy the services and products of Smith\'s Castle (Museum) in Rhode Island.

At the moment the business receives a score of 4.0 over 5 and that score was based on 41 reviews.

You must have seen that it reaches an reviews average is quite positive, and it's founded on a very high number of feddbacks, so we may say that the valuation is quite accurate. If many people have bothered to value when they've done well with the business, it works.

You know that we don't usually stop to put reviews when they are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...

This Museum belongs to the category of History museum.

Highly recommend attending when the interpretive center is open. Otherwise, there is not a ton of richness to experience when you visit. There is a wonderful history that is explained well by staff and the accompanying photos and documents within the house.

I went to the strawberry festival and it was great. There wasn't strawberry picking but they did have strawberry shortcake and other food. The pony ride and face painting was fun they also had old school games for the kids. Great family place with tons of activities throughout the year. Parking isn't great when it's busy.

It is unclear what timetables they have. I only got to walk outside because there was nobody there. It was on Tuesday afternoon so I would have expected to find someone to talk to. Not recomended, then, for an improvised visit like mine. I do have to say it is well taken care of and it has a very nice little garden with different types of vegetables and herbs.

A RI historic home you can take a tour.

Disappointing. It's hot and stuffy. The displays were amature at best, and just cluttered piles of assorted stuff at worst. They might do better to engage local high schoolers to design the individual displays. The garden was exceptional. So there is that going for them. And the tour guide was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable.

Beautiful spot to visit with historical significance. There's a trail to follow that I will try next visit. Lovely gardens, grove of cedar trees to sit under and commemorative plaques that only recognize the colonists that lost their lives in the Great Swamp fight.

Alot of History here. On the tour they said the place was haunted with the older lady in painting I posted but we heard a child's lafter and saw a small cloud. We think it's the child in the painting I posted.

I visited the castle on einter. It was closed. Amazing grounds. Perfect place to take beautiful pics.

It was great to learn of early American history. The stories of the history of the castle were expertly told. The torrid details of the womens picture hanging in the staircase.... I won't spoil it for you.

A piece of Rhode Island history. I’ve lived in RI for over 40 years and I have never been to Smith’s Castle. It was very interesting and the property is beautiful. Defiantly recommend a visit.

A hidden gem! When you visit Smith’s Castle it is like stepping back in time. The tour is fascinating including lots of local and historic trivia. The grounds are on the water and beautiful for walking around on a nice day. Include a visit to the quaint village of Wickford for restaurants and shopping. Also the beaches of Rhode Island are a short drive away. There is enough to keep busy for a weekend away!

Very knowledgeable guides -- a snapshot of RI history. The grounds and gardens are beautiful. There's something to learn in every room!

With complete honesty, This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. I went here for museum day as I have never seen Smith's Castle. I was quickly disappointed. At first I was greeted by a few people for a tour, I excitedly sat down to join them and within 5 minutes of listening to the tour guide I almost fed like the entire thing was scripted. I followed the group to the museum and upon entering with a coffee in my hand I was given a stare down by the tour guide. During the tour I felt the whole thing lacked a sight seeing experience as there seemed to be very little to see. The tour guide lacked knowledge and seemed to find little things to throw in to avoid awkwardness. Not even yet upstairs yet when I quickly pointed at the exit to my husband but we somehow made it upstairs despite being as bored as we were. Upstairs we saw a bedroom with a bright green floor with a walkway rug, Not knowing we were supposed to stay on the rug I stepped off to look around the room when the tour guide says the floor is not stable and the house is leaning?! not worth it in my opinion

John DelaCruz

Kind of disappointing. We were told that tours only happened at certain times, but it was clear (middle of the day) that no one else was going to show. The docents were not helpful and we did a quick tour of the outside grounds by ourselves. Nothing special.
