My son absolutely loved it! It was awesome for him to be able to see the tanks up close. Very nice museum, really well put together. An overall wonderful place.
Great place with a ton of military history.
I mostly visit this location for its wonderful walking trails. History is on display outdoors; Helicopters, tanks, missiles, replica of forts, etc.. Great place to visit. I also visited the museum inside and enjoyed it.
Well maintained display of armor and buildings. Very imressed. Nice walk as well!
Love the nice walk and all the military stuff on display. It's really awesome when they have the community day.
We love coming here. When the weather is good the outside displays are informative and fun to run around. We bring our grandson here and he actually asks to come back often. He loves the inside and outside.

This place is filled with so much info! So many cool things to do inside the museum, a free AR-15 shooting range game, a parachute chair you sit on and it lifts you up and shows you on the floor bombings. Very cool. We go every week!
Free admission, interactive exhibits that combine education and hands on fun. Allows visitors to go through the exhibit as a particular soldier to get a glimpse into their life and times. Great for all ages.

Interactive museum, no cost, good family activity. Lots of interactive exhibits that kids of all ages can enjoy.
Excellent indoor and outdoor history exhibits. Well maintained facilities, free parking and picnicking, family friendly, free lectures usually in the evenings, and special events. My favorite thing to do here is walk the relatively flat mile trail while my son practices soccer in the field. Big sky and fabulous sunsets
We have been here several times. My 8 year old loves it! Both inside and outside exhibits are so well done. Staff is super informative and it is free!
Great place to visit.
Very nice place for kids to run around have fun and other. Lots of military weaponry tanks helicopters buildings and informational plaques. If you read all of the boards it is a very very interesting time. It is also a very goods spot to run and have exercise. I recommend you go there. All in all the experience is good and I rate it about a 3 out of 5 stars
Stopped here on a whim while driving by and very glad I did, it was very informative and offers much more than you can see from the highway. Anyone in the area should pay it a visit....and it's free!
Very informative. Great for families to visit
Very nice place lots of things to learn here
Wonderful experience! Superb facility chock full of great historical information.
Spent the day at Army Heritage center. Great place to learn about some of our Military History. Army Heritage Days was a fantastic learning experience for kids as well.
History of all the battles taught throughout the years from the revolutionary war and so on
Very cool spot! Highly recommended!
If you're into history at all, want to go for a run or a walk, or even just looking for something to do that's a bit different, this is a good place. It's well maintained and interesting, it's a great educational tool and memorial to those who have fought for our country. They also host Octoberfest and a few other events, and they do it well.
Excellent. Clean and well kept also.
I had to pull myself away or I'd have spent a couple of days here. Amazingly well done. Nothing less than expected of the U S Military but they outdid themselves here. Outstanding historic displays indoors and out. Loved the interactive displays; hearing enlisted men a women share experiences in their own words, the firing range needs some maintenance but what a great overall experience! This one is not to be missed.
Lots of great information and a nice museum in Carlisle!
great walking trail and interesting displays
Great place to bring the kids to check out the outdoor displays. The WWI trenches, tanks and helicopters are a real hit and neat to see up close. Inside there are some displays and a gift shop. Kids loved getting dog tags in the gift shop. Great for walking and being outdoors. The free price to see all of the items can't be beaten. Do you self a favor and take advantage of all the sights.
Well worth the time if you are an Army veteran or history buff.
Great Educational place to visit
Very cool place I am glad I got the chance to go. Really well laid out.
Awesome visual walk through gallery.

Beautiful place for a family walk
Wonderful place to visit. A must see as a museum. They have lots to see inside and out. Also a lot of the exhibits are hands on
Great experience one of the best free museums I've been to. the tour through the history of the army was very educational I learned a lot of things that I didn't know before I would definitely recommend taking a family there or just go by yourself
Really great spot to walk around and learn about the exhibits outside for free! It's an awesome kid friendly place too. As an added bonus if your Pokemon Go player there's a ton of stops and gyms!
We saw the tanks from the interstate and decided to stop. We were surprised as to how much there was here. We did not go into the museum as it was closed. There are displays outside frome every war. They have real tanks and choppers. We walked through the museum like barracks and mess hall. There are bunkers and lookout towers. Everything is hands on and can be touched. There is a lot of walking here but it is worth it. This is dog friendly.
Great archive place. Really good
Enjoyed a walk through history.
Awesome! They need to clean the Memorial Stones after they mow.
It's great place to learn about military life. To take you're kid's to learn. Nice paths around the park. Even has a boot camp course to go through. Good events happen here to. Nothing but respect for the people who run this place.
My nephew & son express high interest of joining the Army so, I decided to take the. To the US Army Heritage and Education Center. It’s FREE, they have plenty of paraphernalia to purchase. Clean and so much to see. It was a great educational experience. It would be nice if you had someone in sight to have people sign up to serve our country like my nephew who went for the first time. It would’ve been a one stop shop. We plan to go again. I give this place a five star. Kids played the shooting video games they have among other stuff to do. I encourage everyone to donate funds to continue to have this place open for our children to learn part of history.
If you live around here I recommend you to visit this place and have a fun day with your family
Very nice free to the public
Really interesting and fun, FREE, and the kids had fun too (4 and 8year olds)
Great time lots of things to see and do for 2 days
It's a great museum near the Army War College.
Excellent outdoor displays. The claustrophobia of the WWI trench really brought that home. Excellent and friendly staff too!
Excellent museum and education center. Plenty to see and do both inside and outside.
Very nice Museum. Nice trails with lots of war relics
Was a great place to learn a lot about the past.
Awesome history and activities to keep both children and adults interested.
Great history lessons here of our men and women in service to the USA
A must see, especially those who have served in the military.
Fantastic outdoor exhibit space. They have so much to see here it could very well be a full day
Very nice place and great educational day trip for families
I have to go back. A lot more to see than I thought. I enjoyed it very much.
This is my favorite place. There are so many interactive exhibits. I enjoy reading about the wars and about the men and women who served. The best part is the cost - free! My husband and I visit frequently for an hour or so, never rushed to see it all. We know we can come back whenever we want to see more.
One of the best small military museums in the country.
My son and I thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon here.
Very thorough! It would take several visits to absorb all the history. The heritage walk is definitely worthwhile.
Wonderful museum with rotating exhibits. Not enough time in a day to see it all. The Colonel has put his heart and soul into the place and it shows.
So many military museum are told as battles & strategy. This one is from the soldier point of view. Also outdoor display walks one through all history of USA war environments.
A nice museum for those whom want to know about war and equipment
What great way to honor our soliders.! We learned so much!
I worked on setting up the walls in the memorial halls and enjoyed the good company
What a great place to bring the grand kids. They love the tanks and it a good place for them to learn about military history will go back many more times
This experience is one of the best ever. And it's free. Going back in spring. Teaching the children to be patriots.
A great place to take the family. Its got a lot of exhibits both indoors and out. They have recreated WWII German bunkers, trenches, barracks and some more modern facilities. The indoor exhibits are very informative and give you a glimpse into life in the Army. I highly recommend stopping here. A great place and as well organized and informative as it is, its open to the public for free.
As a vendor at the Oktoberfest we were pleased with the whole team that set up the show, and how they made things very comfortable, any questions, concerns were addressed, they were very helpful. Thanks to Larry Watson, and your whole team That made this a success in our book. B. J Wallace Ent.
Well worth a visit to learn more about the Army's history. Nice displays, friendly staff and a good schedule of special events. They've recently closed the small food bar located inside, so plan to bring your own food or grab a meal elsewhere.
We loved it, we will go again. Joe who was volunteering was great.
The history there is incredible. They are able to make it hands on my kids love going to the museum and even walking along the path amd seeing the different military vehicles
Awesome museum. Walking trail, and Library for research!
Very informative, set your own pace exhibits. The "Soldiers Story" at exhibits added a personal touch. Allow several hours to complete both the indoor and outdoor sections.
Great place. Very educational. It reminds me of the days I was in the Army. The tanks and armor remind of my mechanized infantry days. Kids will have fun. They have old trenches from world war 1. Fighter chopper. Artillery guns. And a nice trail to walk and relax. Highly recommend
The trail is a great place to relax and unwind.
This place is absolutely amazing! It is a great tribute to our troops from colonial days to present day. We spent about three hours inside with the kids looking at the displays and enjoying the interactive activities. Outside walking trails are awesome with the tanks and helicopters. The outside building that show how our troops have been housed and defended throughout our history is a must see. Can't say enough good things about this museum. A must see!
Very neat place to visit.
This is an awesome museum to go to! I highly recommend going during the summer to see all the exhibits outside.
What a surprise! We didn't expect such a cool place. Very educational and interactive with all sorts of things to do for all ages. Highly recommend!
Great learning experience about Army heritage.
Interesting place for kids and adults, a great place to learn a little history
Best attraction for all ages tourists, really enjoyed the visit to US Army Heritage & Education Carlisle PA
Lots of fun things to see . My 9 yr old and 5 yr old daughters loved finding the places to fill their passports with stamps and enjoyed seeing all the things from the various wars.
Very interesting museum. The outdoor displays are quite interesting for anyone wanting to learn about U.S. Army history.
This is a great free outing.
Super neat place to visit. Very educational. Kids loved it
A most enjoyable experience
Outdoor trails with replica buildings from various eras- colonial, revolutionary, WWI and II, Vietnam, Gulf wars, along with tanks, helicopters, artillery, etc. Indoor museum includes many exhibitions on Army/soldiers life, different wars/conflicts, leaders and profiles of soldiers. Letters to home are moving. Many interactive exhibits for kids. You can get a library card and research your ancestor's company's movements, often through personal histories that a fellow soldier donated. Bookstore often has sales on interesting items.
Good exhibits and artifacts. Gift shop not very overpriced either. Good experience with my nephews.
Need a better wheel chair for the gravel path
Amazing place definitely worth seeing.
Great place. Amazing history. Kids love it.
With wonderful displays and well maintained facilities you get a poignant look at what it took to defend this nation over the last 200 years. Just watch out for the excessive road noise while outside as it's right next to the highway.
The walking trail is extraordinary. It takes you through nearly 240 years of military from the modern age to the revolution. I learn something new every time I visit. My young nephews loved the inside kids-oriented stuff also.
Very cool for my teen age boys. Love the docents in costume!
It excells at telling the big story by focusing on the individuals. Excellent WWl and Korea exhibit. There is an extensive out side display that I didn't get to. Free!
The outside path is really cool but the inside leaves a lot to be desired.
Great place to go rain or shine. Educational but also a great walking area.
Awesome history in a great setting.
Went for training... Friendly people, clean atmosphere.... Has a little cafe located inside but also close to other food options and shopping.... Close to several hotels as well
Fun stop on our trip, enjoyed looking at outside displays.
The soldiers encampment is well worth the time. All era's from the French and Indian war thru Vietnam are represented. Tanks, jeeps, cannons, bunkers, trenches, aircraft flyover, and cannon live fire. As well as knowledgeable people at each encampment and demo area to give you a run down on their particular era, all dressed in period uniforms . My 6 and 8 year old grandsons at it up.
I'm a veteran of course I'm gonna recommend going here! Lol
Love this place so much to see here
Excellent displays and historical explanations. Will have to come back to spend more time. You could spend hours in here and on the Heritage trail outside.
Great, interactive, accurate museum! My son LOVED it, though my daughter chose to check out the gift shop early (there are signs before some exhibits warning of graphic material and they are accurate). Free and there are free children's activity booklets in different sections that are available for different age groups.
Great for young boys and moms and dads that love history.
Had a wonderful time. Very interesting, lots of information, wonderful people to talk to.
Wonderful place to get out and salute our men and women
Fun place for the family and get for and fun day out.
I come here to walk my dog. Always very friendly ppl there.
Very nice museum, if you want to buy some books and you are near by, please stop by at this location, they have plenty of books at a VERY Good Price...besides that it's a regular small museum, nothing fancy or crazy.
This place is free to the public, incredibly interesting and very moving. Good for all ages
Really nice place to go to learn about and see some Army artifacts. The entire compound is laid out very nicely !
What to say about USAHEC? The archive in the Military History Institute is beyond compare for its size and within the field. I spent 7 days here conducting research, and I’ve not found many archives that have such an incomparable collection, and such helpful staff. I may have completed my own project thanks to the resources here, but I barely scratched the surface of what they have! If the trip for me to get here wasn’t so long I’d start living out of that reading room. For any proper military historian it is a must do location! Special thanks also to Dwayne at the Reference desk for being as helpful as he was over my time here!
Went as a scout group an our scouts loved it an i did to as an adult
Amazing amount of history and information to take in. A very nice trail and a bunker to explore.
Outstanding outdoor displays from different conflicts and wars. Gives you a sense of what it was like to be there fighting as well as training, housing and other aspects of Army life. Really well maintained with plenty of parking. This is a hidden gem in the world of military museums. Enjoy the outdoor path that takes you through the various conflicts from our history: Afghanistan, Vietnam, WWI, WWII, the civil war as well as the revolutionary war.
Wonderful for history buffs. Great place for a class trip. My husband and I plan to visit again in the Spring to walk around the grounds.
Very nice place to walk around and learn about military life, past wars and the people involved, different structures that were built in war zones(including trenches you can walk down into), military vehicles and weaponry, and so much more.
Had fun with the kids. Brought some sandwiches and then walked the grounds. The boys had fun. There is also an indoor meausam but we did not get in there.
This is the "Army History Preservation Center" if you may call it. Interactive and an eye opener!
We went to the museum for Army family day they have a really well put together museum even my 15 month old daughter enjoyed also they have a large area outside with interactive buildings and bunkers also real tanks, a helicopter, and cannons all you can walk up to and touch along a very large walking trail. Definitely a fun day. A great place to take the family to!!
A complete disappointment. A 75th anniversary it was a complete letdown. The several veterans some of them from multiple wars were treated very disrespectfully. Left to just sit in the sun.
Great place to take a walk and explore! Kids will love seeing the tanks, trenches, and helicopters up close. The trail is open even when the visitors center is not.
This is a great place to bring kids to teach them a little about our history. You can go at your own pace and move casually through the exhibits as you please. My kids loved the helicopters and tanks! By the way it's all free!
The attention to detail is not lost.. They bring history to life!
Very informative and donations go to maintain the museum and help veterans, truly a wonderful place to learn about those that Serve
I have to admit i go here more bow for poke on go but have always visited AHEC frequently. Its a nice walk and there is always interesting displays. Fairs/talks/exhibits and just awesome information at this free place. There is a lunch area to , nothing special but great for a quick bite before heading out. Staff is always helpful and kind to everyone.
It is amazing for history lover's like my self
Great place to explore. We went during the German festival and they had guides at each site who explained each item and answered questions. It was so interesting! If you are ever in the area, don't miss it. They've put a lot of thought and work into creating this park. Wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to walk.
Thanks to all who participated in making this Army Heritage Center . Well done !
Great experiences for kids and adults. Lots to learn here
Great information at this place.
Fantastic displays. Very informative regarding the wars the USA has been involved in. Great museum with outdoor military displays and walking trails. I was surprised the US Army owned this complex. Had a enjoyable time
Went with my sons school as a field trip and found it all very interesting and everyone there was well informed and interesting.
This is a great space for walking and learning about the military experience and history. They have a heritage weekend once a year that is great for families. The om-site museum contains artifacts and descriptions from numerous engagements.
Wow, free to public and lots to learn. As a Veteran I was thankful to see such a display. Thank you!
We went on a day when they had the reenactments going on during the free event days. Its really kool to talk with the reenactors about the war and things they used or did during the different wars. There is alot of stuff to explore and interact with as you walk around. They had 2 different fly overs while i was there of old planes and a helicopter used during the war. They set a cannon off, i mean 5he list goes on. Very fun family activity!
It is really fun
This place is simply awesome and is a living testament to all of those soldiers who have served our great nation. The displays are always changing so you will always see something new. Take some time to go outside and see all of the historic battlefield replications. The did a nice job with this one mile loop. Inside there is a small eatery, meeting rooms and a gift shop. You will leave this place satisfied. If you need to do research, this place has the source documents you are looking for! Have an exceptional time!
Loved it, very educational for children
Awesome spot to walk through war history.
