The museum is very well maintained and laid out. The exhibits can keep all ages entertained - even toddlers. I was just disappointed with how costly it was/can be, especially for families: •Adult (12-64 years of age) $8.00 •Reduced (65 + years of age) $7.00 •Youth (3-11 years of age) $5.00

Chris Bigham

Nice museum that gives you a history lesson about the lumber industry in Pennsylvania. Watched a short orientation video then saw some inside exhibits about the history of the lumber industry and state forests in Pennsylvania before checking out the outside exhibits. Outside exhibits were cool and included an engine house with locomotives and tracks, a lumber camp, a saw mill, a pond, and CCC cabins.

Great museum in middle nowhere. This should be at popular highway, but I assume they build this where they had stuff for museum to show. Kids can enjoy, I should say Elementary + ages.

There is a lot to see for the cost of admission. Their exhibits are very educational if you take the time to read them. If you just want to look at things quickly you can get through in a couple hours or less, but if you take the time to read everything you can easily be there for four hours or more. Also, they have nice picnic areas that if we had known about them ahead of time we would have brought lunch with us. They do sell snacks and souvenirs, but not anything to constitute a meal.

I was pleasantly surprised with this place. It has a ten minute movie that was very informative. The museum is hands on for the kids or goofy adults like myself. I was kind of sad that the sawmill and the blacksmith shop wasn't open. ps I believe the log cabin is haunted.

Samuel Huff

Awesome place with a lot of history you didn't know about.

Robert Moore

Loved the museum! The staff was wonderful and very polite. Everything was laid out fantastically. But this is another example of a place where higher up has an extreme prejudice against veterans. Only active military receive a discount but veterans any permitted anything. You'd think a museum, a place rich in history, would appreciate what veterans have done for this country. But no. Once you serve, just like so many others, they don't care about you anymore. Veterans are why we have the freedoms we have today. Be they veterans from the time of our fore Father's. Or today's veterans, we would not have out freedoms if someone didn't stand up, fight, and defend our great country. Please, give veranda the same courtesy and respect you give active military.

Rahn Monreal

Completely surprising not sure what I expected but it was definitely not that was not that crowded people were unusually friendly and polite we went through and no time and was out of there it was exceptionally nice to see and just browse and enjoy the time we had I would recommend this place in yes they are service dog friendly

Julie Kio

Informative. Easy to follow self guided tour. Enough hands on displays to entertain. Beautifully maintained. I just wish they sold the train air horn in the gift shop

Waited a whole year to visit but missed the event I wanted to see, it was the following day. Think its called burling, 2 people on one log, spinning, last one standing wins. Still got educated on Saturday with how to use a team of horses in the woods, axe throwing contest, many demos with handling axes and uses. Greased log competitions was fun. Food for hungry folks, tour the entire site, old log mill still works, demo cutting with steam power. Just exciting! Musical entertainment, wood saw demos, kids can try. Booths for souvenirs or presents. We had excellent weather too. Highly recommended.

This is one of my favorite places to go, especially since the renovation. I grew up visiting the Lumber Museum, and as a young man, I worked on an old 1800's saw mill and shingle mill.... because of that Pennsylvania's Lumber Heritage is special to me. We visited with our family this year, and really enjoyed the displays!
