You may have noticed that it has an average rating is almost the top, and it is founded on a very large number of scores, so we may think that the rating is very credible. If there are many people who bothered to give their opinion when they are satisfied, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to set feddbacks when these are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Museum belongs to the category of Museum.
Deepwood gardens are one of my favorite places in salem. Beauty can be found any time of the year. There is a nature trail, as well as a greenhouse, with some amazing specimens!
Beautiful park!!
We didnt get to go inside, but we walked through the gardens. It was beautiful! Nice and clean too.
Was there for a wedding. Such beautiful gardens! I have wanted to check this place out for years and finally was able too!
We didn't get to go in the house because it was closed on Sundays but the grounds are amazing! So peaceful
Awesome grounds. Gorgeous wedding.
Beautiful old house and nice garden. Great that it's preserved.
Great piece of history
This is the perfect place to take a deep breath and take in the gorgeous surroundings!
Beautiful grounds. Fun little trails to walk.
Great gardens and museum!
Loved the architecture and the guide was excellent
Beautiful gardens that are always changing yet always have the same feel and style. I love watching all the different flowers bloom. This is a great place for weddings too!
Love this park
Beautiful!!!
I have nothing but incredible memories of my wedding. The ambiance that the Deepwood provides is unlike any other venue I have visited in the area. My husband and I are very pleased with our decision to start our life together at the Deepwood.
Great place to do engagement, family and school pictures. The grounds are well maintained and clean. The houses are great to tour and learn about.
I've been visiting Deepwood since I was a child. Great for pictures and picnics!
Fun, something to do if u need to kill time. House isn't very big so the tour is short but neat to see the history of the owners and you can wander around the gardens for as long as you want.
Beautiful landscape for family photos!
Great place for photos or just a pleasant stroll through the garden.
Absolutely love it here
Beautiful gardens and event areas.
Love going there the green houses that they have there. The paths could be updated maybe and the information plaques that they have along the trails definitely need to be updated as half of them are missing.
Some lovely and unusual plants
Nice gardens and a good example of Victorian architecture.
This is a beautiful historic Victorian home. Tours are given in the afternoon. The gardens are stunning and are maintained by volunteers. Many people have photos and weddings here
Always amazing
This place is really nice. Beautiful grounds and old house is in great condition.
It is my favorite park in the city, especially deepwood
I bet it's really pretty later in the spring
Was such a lovely day, had a peaceful walk around the grounds. Love this place!
Alot of places to go here two parks swimming great for kids and dogs
Great place for history buffs..
Serene gardens, perfect for relaxing after work!
Great chill place to go and enjoy the scenery
A friend of mine recently put a deposit down to reserve this venue for a wedding in October 2017. Shortly after doing so, her mother suffered a severe brain injury and has been hospitalized since. Seeing as how there is a need for them to help pay for her care, the wedding and all $$ set aside for it have gone to provide the necessities of life for her. They called and talked to 'Deborah', who--in short--told them 'too bad'. No refunds. I think this place is horrible and will not refer another patient to them for a wedding or any other event. Compassion is something that we are all inherently endowed with--it takes work to rid ones self of it. Apparently, Deepwood Museum and Garden personnel have been hard at work in doing so!! You should be ashamed of yourself!!
Beautiful gardens.
I recently d.j,ed a wedding at this beautiful venue. Staff was friendly and helpful. I hope to book there again. #djkdubforyou
Historic home and gardens. A beautiful place to visit.
Beautiful home with I treating docent led tour. Beautiful gardens.
Lovely place for pictures
Part of history
Beautiful setting. Good place to take photos and weddings.
Beautiful!
Was a great wedding location. Between the manicured gardens and wooded trails, you can capture both traditional and fairytale wedding photos.
Lovely old house!
Beautiful gardens to take a nice stroll at with the family.
Beautiful place.
You Will Like it Go To This Place
It is beyond gorgeous! We used it as background for my daughter's wedding pictures & they are STUNNING! The staff was super-friendly & the gardens are magnificent!
beautiful flowers
A very nice place to stroll through for fun. Great photo opportunities. Sometimes the staff at the house(not the volunteer gardeners)can be rude. The paths can get mudded up in wet weather, bring boots.
Absolutely lovely historical home and grounds. Can I suggest having a few tea choices rather than just one You might also consider selling tea cups and saucers.
Absolutely stunning. ❤️
Good restoration. Enjoyed the free tour. Docents were knowledgeable about the property and it's history. Loved the period costumes.
There for a wedding. Very beautiful
Get to get lost in my thoughts here beautiful peaceful place.
Great place to visit
So beautiful!
It is beautiful area. I've never been inside any of these houses. I just like the walk through the park.
Deepwood is a Salem must see. The beautiful yards are to die for. They are a fantastic place to get married or hold an event.
Loved this place. The house itself is beautiful and full of history. The gardens are also wonderful for a stroll.
A favorite place of mine
Beautiful event location
Beautiful setting, fascinating museum that gives you a peek into another lifetime.
I officiated a wedding here. Nice venue.
Mushroom hunting
A beautiful place to revive the spirit!
Nice tour of historic home and beautiful gardens.
The house looks really big from the outside. I was kinda disappointed it was alot smaller on the inside. Still a beautiful house.
Beautiful park and museum. They even have a green house with tropical plant and trees really fun. Better available parking if you turn onto 12 th street and park at the lot connected with Deepwood.
Just lovely.
Beautiful place
What's the point
First time there. I went to their open house. It was so interesting, and I'm glad I went. The house is impeccable, the staff and volunteers so nice and engaging. They all made sure we knew about each area, pointed out little details. Everyone is very passionate about the house and their mission
A local gem that is beautifully maintained and staged with pieces that are true to the homes history. The holiday open house is my favorite! Beautiful decorations.
Deep wood museum is beautiful. They have high teas, plant sales and wonderful volunteers!
What a beautiful place. The gardens are wonderful. Thanks to all of the volunteers who keep them that way.
Went here for a photography trip. Amazing views and very photogenic. Will be going back and hopefully soon.
We had an excellent tour of the home. Our young female guide told us about the home and the 3 families that lived there. There are many photos but few family articles. However they supplement the family articles with items from the correct time periods. Two examples were a player piano and an early version of a record player. Both were operated and it was very nice experience. It is an old home on two floors and steep stairs need to be climbed. The city of Salem and the volunteer groups are to be commended for preserving this piece of Salem history. We timed our visit so we could follow the home tour with a once a month guided tour of the gardens by Lord & Schryver volunteers. This greatly added to our enjoyment of the gardens since they described everything and answered all our questions. The gardens are extensive and much was in bloom. To our surprise, we were the only visitors on our tours.
I have Officiated a few weddings here and it is a stunning Venue.
Although the home does not have many of the original owners' furnishings, there is still plenty to see from the same time period. The family that had the home built wanted the most modern conveniences available such as electricity and plumbing. Because we were there on a rainy March day, we weren't able to enjoy as much of the Gardens as we would have liked. It will definitely be worth walking the gardens in the summer. On the upside, there were only 4 adults and 2 small children in our tour group.
I try very hard to refrain from posting negative reviews. It's been my experience that often times reviews written out of anger or are emotionally charged, come across as just that. I've waited several weeks for the manager of Deepwood to change her mind and do the right thing, but it doesn't seem that will happen. Unfortunately, you've left me no choice but voice my opinion about your business practices. My son and future daughter in law chose Deepwood for the site of their wedding next October 2017. In mid September they dutifully signed the contract and put money down as a deposit. 2 weeks later, my future daughter in law's mother suffered a horrific and catastrophic brain injury that as of this writing (mid November) still has her hospitalized in an ICU unit. This has been a life altering event for the entire family and money is tight. When their plans changed and scaling back was the only alternative, they asked to break the contract and get their money back. Deborah refused. Without so much as an "I'm sorry", they got, "we have to stick with what the contract says". So basically, tough luck. Surely after 2 months, one would think that doing the right thing and quite possibly showing a little compassion for the situation would change her mind. Unfortunately it hasn't. With 11 months to go, surely they can re-book the date for another couple that can make it. Maybe more than anything, this should serve as a warning to any potential brides to be. Buyer beware. Know what kind of people you are dealing with. Know that they aren't interested in making your day the best it can be, rather they are more concerned with keeping your money and the fact that a contract was broken. Be aware that if a family emergency arises, there is no viable recourse. I'm saddened by this but better to find out now, than closer to an actual wedding date.
Gorgeous estate. The outdoor garden area is incredible, but the greenhouse is the highlight! And it's all kept up by a volunteer staff. Tours wednesday through saturday from 9:00-12:00. Didn't get a chance to see the inside myself. It's a wedding venue as well.
Actually truly amazing the flowers, hard work, and dedication do not come at an easy cost. Thank you Salem.
Interesting and important little museum. I was the only dude on the tour. Wonderful gardens.
My son had his wedding here and it was beautiful!!
Very beautiful, well maintained, and peaceful. Fun historical stop.
Super interesting and we'll-worth a trip. Bring cash as their card reader doesn't work and requires a huge effort on their part to get it to a nearby card reader. The volunteer was friendly and very knowledgeable.
good tour
Beautiful place to visit
A beautiful spot for a summer wedding. My husband and I were so pleased that we chose Deepwood for our wedding.
Beautiful
First time visiting. Didn't look at many things, but what I saw filled me with peace and contentment. I ate my sandwich and rested in the shade of two beautiful trees as I waited for my doctor's appointment. The volunteers and staff were kind and knowledgeable about the species of flowers and trees. Wish I had the time to wait for more doctor's appointments there.
Great place to bring the family and that special pet.
I sent a email to the administration with an inquiry and I never had a response. Obviously not too good of management. I wouldn't recommend, they sure seem like they don't care. Judging by reading other negative reviews they need new management.
Beautiful Bridal Shower
This is such a charming, historical place! I highly recommend going on a free house tour. The exhibits are constantly changing and they even hold high teas here every month. If you want to take a step back into time, definitely put Deepwood on your list.
This place is so gorgeous. Worth stopping for sure. I am planning my wedding for 2020 and seriously considering having it here.
Really beautiful gardens on this estate. They are always a joy to walk around.
Beautiful authentic vintage house decorated for Christmas. Very fun!
If you like historical things you'll love this and the gardens are beautiful as well
They serve tea . . . The best high tea in the Willamette valley, your have to book ahead as it is not an everyday occurrence. Also wonderful house tour, events (weddings here are popular), meetings in a truly memorable environment. Gorgeous gardens, the gardens are open most days.
Really cool place!
Hidden house near the capital. Full of fancy old stuff. Beautiful gardens.
Beautiful gardens!
Awesome history!
I'm so thrilled I was able to hold my wedding at the Historic Deepwood Estate. The price for the beauty of the venue, the inclusion of chairs and tables, break down and set-up was incredibly affordable. The gardens are so well-maintained, it made for stunning photos. Their on-site events coordinator was communicative and very helpful in providing guidance to make the day perfect. I received nothing but compliments from my guests about the venue. I would recommend Deepwood to any bride looking for a garden wedding in this region.
Very nice your of an older historic home.
This is my 2nd most favorite place to go when I'm in Salem.
Very nice place to take pictures
Beautiful clean place. Very relaxing and plenty if seating areas. The gardens are beautiful. My friend had her wedding here and it couldn't have been better. The only down fall was that there's no changing station for babys.
Great place for pictures and gorgeous in the spring but a tad on the muddy side.
Nice staff, great home and a garden that will take your breath away!
Nice place for a walk and lunch. They have restroom available.
Real nice place
Beautiful place for pictures or wedding
I loved being able to tour this old house without an appt! We literally decided last minute to go in and they were more than willing to let us take a walk around and learn about the history of the house! Was a great place for a wedding but would not have fit our party! This wonderful garden is fun to walk thru and then visit this beautiful old home. It’s not handicapped accessible; but, if you can get up the stairs it’s well worth it.
It is incredibly small. The walking paths took me 15 minutes to clear and I'm a slow walker. I do however like the idea of a forest type environment in a city so I didn't completely hate it and it's free to walk around in.
Beautiful and full of history
Beautiful place
Love this magical place
Peaceful and serine
The gardens are beautiful, was there for a wedding. It sets a very intimate scene and springtime is perfect for all the blooming flowers.
My second time going. I loved each time. Knowledgeable staff
Some really great gardens here to explore.
Tours by experienced and enthusiastic guides. Interesting history
This venue is very beautiful and most of the staff is great all but the actual manager. Unfortunately she is not customer friendly by any means and is very rude. It very surprising they are able to keep booking events with her lack of customer service skills. So if you are planning for this venue to be your wedding place just make sure you know all your limits and times because they will shoo you out so fast that your head will spin. I give this 2 stars and the two stars are only for the beauty of the actual venue. Also it could use twinkle lights just about everywhere on the grounds and be more accessible for vendors.
Beautiful

Very nice Victorian, great tour.
Beautiful place for pictures!
Gardens are beautiful
Down to earth estate Museum and grounds. Nicely done and it's been around for a long time. If you're in the area it's worth stopping by and won't take too long they do offer guided tours
Came for a friends wedding. It was a beautiful place!
A great piece of salem history
Beautiful venue with a nice garden
Gorgeous grounds! Been a while since I've had a tour but I'm sure it's amazing.
Amazing place...Check it out beautiful place
Beautiful gardens. There is a green house. The flowers are attended by volunteers. One of our favorite places to take pictures all year. They have events throughout the year for adults and childern.
Love all the gardens.
