Very lovely museum and artafacts did not get to see the house.
Great museum & wonderful walk areas
Excellent site. Well maintained and essential part of history.
I had visited here before and was very impressed. I went back because I was interested in the Temperance movement display. This was a bit disappointing as it was mostly just placards briefly explaining the history of the movement. If you're …
This place is an absolute gem of a find! Such a wonderful experience and very friendly staff. Definitely do the the house tour! That was one of the most informative tours I have taken in quite awhile. Everything in the house is so very …
Good historic site. Very nice museum next door. A lot of history to go through. Very informative desk clerk.
Come to Spiegel Grove and feed the squirrels while you stroll the grounds!
I thought the Hayes home to be lovely and comfortable. The guide was excellent, knowledgeable, and did not sound as though she was reciting by rote. The museum displays were very informative in a clear, understandable format. I did not have time to visit the library or walk the grounds which I regret.
Nice place to walk my dog
If you enjoy history, especially if you live in the area, you really should visit. The grounds and facilities are perfectly maintained. The entire thing is enjoyable, but I thought the tour of the house was the high point. Highly recommended!

Fun tour of the house and nice museum on a president we rarely, if ever, hear about. A walk around the grounds was nice, too.
Love spending time an doing events here. An would recommend this place
Our tour guide Joan was very informative and explained so much about the history of the house and family. The museum was also very interesting. My son and I enjoyed our time here.
A great little museum and grounds. My family and I really enjoy walking the grove and visiting the museum.
I really enjoy the Hayes Center, it's a beautiful historical site with many events that are all perfect for a day out with the family. The home, museum, tombs, and grounds are fantastic. It's a true treasure for the city of Fremont.
Informative tours and lovely museum .
This museum and library are amazing. It was well worth the trip there.
Would highly recommend the house tour!
Always love doing research here.
The home is well worth the tour. Many, many original pieces; beautiful architecture (be sure to notice the door hinges); wonderful docent (very knowledgeable). The grounds are lovely and many use them as walking paths. Did not visit …
Had a blast taking the horse drawn trolley!
This place is just amazing. The people here are very friendly and helpful
Beautiful place!! Love the home and gardens. Nothing like walking the grounds with so much history. A must see!
If you love history definitely worth a visit. I always enjoy learning about people who you don't read too much about in history books.
Have been to HayesMemorial many times & as all other times 7-4-18 was terrific & great. A friendly & educational. as well as fun. Thanks to Fremont ,Ohio & many wonderful people.
Very interesting and informative
Beautiful home and grounds worth the trip
Great place to walk kids and pets. Shady so its not so hot. Go there to find lots of Pokemon!!!
The escape room experience was fantastic! Went with four other couples and escaped with 4 min to spare. Will definitely do this again if they have another one in the future.
Great place to visit. I'm glad it's in Fremont.
Interesting place and beautiful grounds.
So much history to absorb!
Nice place to visit. They also have a nice area to walk around in.
Very nice place to take your family for a walk and to see a Presidential Library and home where is Hayes lived
The grounds are beautiful even if you don't go to the museum. The museum is a bit pricey but very informative. The house is pretty cool, especially if your into the period decor and clothing. Lots of neat events to watch out for; for kids and adults.
Great place. Full of local and presidential history
Beautiful park to take the kids too. Lots of squirrels
I love to walk around here and feed the squirrels
My favorite place to walk my dogs.
Beautiful paths outside, knowledgeable staff very nicely done
I am a photogragher. This place I'd absolutely stunning
The history of the election is the big story behind Hayes presidency. The park is open to the public with or without admission to the museum and library. Magnificent grounds.
Beautiful home of Rutherford B. Hayes and very informative museum. Spent a good amount of time learning about our 19th president. The staff was very helpful as well.
Very peaceful. Nice area to walk the trails.
Visited the library. Staff was super helpful! Great place to do family research.
Our guide was fantastic! She shared so much insight to President Hays and his home, than the last time I visited. Thank you!
Our nations first presidential library. It has an amazing museum set on park grounds that include the Hayes Home. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. A great place to spent a few hours and learn about history first hand.
For Presidential Gravesite’s, this was a good one. The grounds are well kept and there are quite a few things to look at and discover.
Very interesting. Great historical site to visit.
Very well=told story of a President few remember, although he was a remarkable man.
Gorgeous historical site that is so much more than the site of the first presidential library. Beautiful grounds, gorgeous home, and an amazing museum honor a unique family.
Surprisingly interesting museum and grounds. The museum is more of a museum about the Hayes family, not just Rutherford. Two stories of interesting exhibits and artifacts.
This is a lovely place to walk. The museum is newly renovated and the home has been restored to what it would have been like when President Hayes lived there.
Great place to visit. Mansion is gorgeous. Guide was extremely knowledgeable. Grounds were inviting. Museum packed with lots to see
Very nice quiet place to walk and tour
I love this place for doing genealogy research. The library has a great selection of material to doing research. The people are very friendly and knowledgeable. They are very friendly and knowledgeable about what the library has to offer and can help you with your research.
Learned a great deal about a president from my state Very nice museum Home tour in original furnishings very Educational
We had a wonderful time wondering around looking at all the displays.
The house is just gorgeous and the property goes on forever! Excellent and informative tour is worth the visit!
Plenty of shade if you want to go for a walk it is truly a beautiful place. The museum is always updated and the tours are great. I'm proud to say I live in Fremont because of this place.
Would have loved to do a tour, but we didnt have time. Walking this yourself there was so much to see! You could easily spend all day here.
If you like history stuff, it's great. The house tour was really well done.
The house itself is a fantastic piece of history. Because of pictures taken while Pres & Mrs Hayes lived there, there were able to recreate how the how looked at the time of their occupancy, down to the specific placement of specific …
Suoer friendly squirrel bring them peanuts! Nice walking path and a few things too see on the property for free. The main museum and house cost money to vist .
Beautiful grounds. Went for the 4th of July concert that was amazing.
Awesome time! Loved museum
just peace and beautiful
Despite being in town, it's very quiet. We love walking here with our kids. We bring food for squirrels and our kids love feeding them. The museum is wonderful as well. We particularly love the house. It's interesting to see the house so well preserved and the reenactment they do each year really brings the whole place to life.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed going here! Our guide through the house was a woman named Grace and she was excellent. We plan to return soon.
Well spoken and knowledgeable doscent. Great display and presentation of information.
Amazing, would recommend to everyone who has a thirst for knowledge
The museum nor library is as large as one would think. But it is worth seeing.
Beautiful! The grounds are beautiful! Bring your walking shoes and take a leisurely walking tour of the grounds and mansion. Pop inside the library and museum for 2 floors of exhibits and family history, and great information on the drama around R. B. Hayes' election!
The staff was so knowledgeable and helpful. I am grateful to the Hayes family for opening the house and grounds to the public. Because of my tour today, I want to continue learning about the Hayes and Webb families. My thanks especially to Dan, Evan, and the genealogy team. Your knowledge is invaluable. Thank you for sharing it.
Beautifully kept up. Friendly staff. I had my wedding ceremony here and everyone involved was so friendly and helpful. The wedding turned out beautiful.
This is a wonderful site. Not only do you have the Hayes Presidential Museum but the Hayes Home is also available for tours. The grounds are well kept and some very notable trees are still standing.
Enjoyed the grounds, the museum and house. Learned more about the 19th president and his role in American history!
My aunt and I went down there and had a lot of fun learned a lot I really enjoyed it
Must see in the area. Lots of original artifacts/era appropriate.
Went to see the Lucy exhibits and Lucy house tour.
I went to the museum to get information on my heritage. The liabraian was very helpfull.I took a tour on a hoarse and buggy ride and that was beautiful and very enlightening.
Nice place to take the family for a nice walk around the grounds. Good place to view a little history with the museum. Good place to take pictures. Plenty of parking is available.
A great place to visit and learn about president Hayes and his family. Also a great research facility for Genealogists. They offer many great classes for anyone interested in genealogy and have a helpful staff.
Beautiful property, wonderful, informative people. Grounds are well maintained and many locals were walking with children. One woman was photographing a brown squirrel who obliged by posing for her.
Must more comprehensive than expected
Very friendly and helpful staff. Enjoyable visit.
Fascinating home tour. We loved it. Great history lesson, original furnishings, decor of the original period, beautiful grounds.
It was a very nice day trip from Cleveland to visit his presidential Library and residence. It is a beautiful location oh, very restful
The staff were very helpful and the nature walk way nice. The squirrels are super friendly . I have not done the museums yet but it was a blast and we will come again.
Nice place for a walk.
I really calming and peaceful place to walk. They have a 1-mile track built around the perimeter of property, which not only allows you to exercise but also taken some very Scenic views of the Presidential Center, the residence, and the President's grave site.
As a history buff, what can I say. This is a must stop for anyone that has any love for history.
Greatest Presidents in Ohio
Beautiful park, very scenic, the walking path is kept in good condition, and accessible parking.
Nicely done. Beautiful grounds with relaxed pace. Staff friendly and helpful. This was our 14th pres. Library visited. All are unique and this was no exception. Learned new information to motivate me to read more about this family.
It is a really nice park to have a picnic in and to walk around.
Very nice, great learnings
Much to see in this first presidential museum, the Hayes home is huge , has 31 rooms
I have been here many times and thought it was wonderful! Since it has been changed and most of the wonderful artifacts are in "storage" I do not think it is worth the stop! What good are all those wonderful things if no one can see them?
It was nice, the tour is very interesting and informative, the guides are nice and patient and the architecture is astounding. The only issue is you have to be careful as you're not allowed to touch things, no photographs, and if you aren't particularly interested in history it could feel more like sitting in class.
Great place for a quiet walk, friendly squirrels.
Historically significant location. Fun field trip for adults and children. Great learning experience.
Wonderful information, beautiful piece of property. Friendly informative staff.
Lots of great history to be seen here. The museum is wonderful.
Even without going inside any of the buildings it is still a beautiful place to walk around and enjoy being outside
Go here. It’s lovely.
Loved this place. The house tour was great. Our guide was knowledgable and friendly. The museum was interesting and had lots of cool stuff to look at. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is, I …
Great historical place in Fremont. So beautiful and so much to do. From the many exhibits in the museum, the house and the grounds. It is truly an amazing experience.
I wish I could remember our tour guide's name. She was a well of wit, sweetness, and knowledge. My gentleman friend and I were the only ones on what was to be an hour tour of the house, but we ended up staying and asking questions for an extra hour. It was such a special experience to learn about this family, their property, and to bask in the gorgeous Grove
Great help from John, in the library, and found what I was looking for.
Great place to visit and learn more about President Hayes' life. Toured his home and the museum has a lot of artifacts from his era. Staff is wonderful and provided us outstanding customer service.
Wonderful free concert twice a month, the ice cream is good too
Love taking the family here just to walk the grounds
Depends what you are looking for. Beautiful grounds for a walk and sack lunch like the locals do. Beautiful historic house and library. Fees to tour either building
Cool place to visit for all ages.
This is a very cool place to go if you like history. Knowledgeable staff on the tour. Lots of information here and opportunities to explore out and inside. No pictures are allowed in the Mansion's tours; everywhere else is fine. They do discount for military.
Beautiful trees to linger amongst. Impressive buildings to oggle. Very nice afternoon in August to wander the pathway.
This place is interesting. The home was bilt before there was indoor plumbing.
I learned a lot about the former president.
I loved visiting here with my friends! I was doing a school presentation on Rutherford b Hayes, and I decided to come here to get more information. The home tour I especially recommend. Those tour guides sure do know a lot about President Hayes. The museum is my next favorite, tied with the tomb. There are SO many exhibits on president Hayes, it took 2 hours to photograph much of them. I don't have anything to say about the library, because we didn't spend too much time there. I place I definitely recommend visiting in Ohio.
I love walking around the trail.
Very nice place to walk n relax
Friendly staff, knowledgeable docents. Museum doesn't seem as interesting as it was 20 years ago. Remodeling seems to have sterilized it. House is Interesting and well restored.
I have been here several times over the years and always find something that I hadn't noticed before. The tour of the house is very nice with many original furnishings. The Presidential Library and Museum are great and you can check ancestory records while you are there also. During the year there are numerous events of all differnt kind but one of my favorites has always been the Sleigh Rides in the winter. To see what will be available when you will be there just check on their website.
The people were very knowledgeable and friendly. Was really interesting.
Great place to walk. Each round, with the hill, is a mile for us. Make sure you take unsalted peanuts for the super friendly squirrels
This is a small presidential library/museum. The museum still includes a lot of information on one of our lesser know presidents. I didn't go on the house tour so I can't review that. The grounds here a lovely.
Great historical place to visit or just go for a nice walk on the grounds.
It is a nice piece of history to tour the next time you are in Ohio.
Excellent collection of historical items of significance. Each item is labeled and the history is as complete as possible so you can gain a greater understanding of it's part in our past.
A great experience for the area. One of the only things to do in Fremont. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Lots of special events for adults and kids. Highly recommended.
Beautiful place to spend a morning walking in this beautiful place need to try it.
Excellent information available. Bob & Sue terrific help.
Always a nice place to go to. I go for the Genealogy Library.
I am so glad I sought this particular place out during my recent trip to Ohio. Whether you are a student of history, an architecture fan or a just a curious passerby, this place does not disappoint. I've been to most of the presidential libraries and, all though small, Rutherford B. Hayes' is well done, accurate and is staffed with excellent hosts and docents. The property is breathtaking and the home's interior is superbly restored.
Wonderful museum & house tour. Grounds are gorgeous grounds. Library is genealogy heaven.
The house tour is amazing.
My family loves to walk the trails here when the weather is nice. Always well kept.
Interesting place on our 19th President
We love going for walks at Speigel Grove. While the museum and library are well-curated and maintained, the draw for us again and again are the beautiful grounds. The grass, trees, flowerbeds, and walking paths are meticulously kept. I like that there isn't just one giant circle, but also several paths that cut across. If my daughter starts getting too fussy, it's never too far until we're back to the car. This is certainly one of the best places in town, both for locals and visitors.
I always enjoy time spent at the Grove and it's such an inviting space. The trails are easy strolling and the squirrels are friendly and enjoy a shared peanut or two from the visitors who come bearing gifts. The house is enchanting and the grounds have plenty of space for an impromptu picnic, just bring along a blanket and your lunch and enjoy the shade from the trees while you enjoy a lovely afternoon with loved ones.
Been near it for years, finally visited it.... no regrets, nice stop....
Great place to visit and great staff. The tour of the mansion was wonderful and the museum was a good to learn about the 19th president of the USA
Very neat! Seeing both the home and the museum is the way to go. The whole memorial is impressive!
The city doesn't do enough to honor this great place.
Very well done. A walk through time. Must see.
8/30...Very nice, and well tended grounds, house and museum. Uniquely informative tour of the house with Cathey, a local guide. Well versed in the occupants and history of the property. The house has been restored to reflect the original status. Many original fixtures and furniture pieces. The museum shows an accurate portrayal of the life and times around the 19th president. Well worth the afternoon we were there. I was disappointed only by the relative lack of 'museum shop' literature about Hayes and the politicos of the era.
Very interesting place
Very beautiful peaceful and calm monumental memorial. Love the museum as well as the well kept grounds. Overall fabulous place to visitm
beautiful and felt really comfortable
Wonderful place to vist, great walking trails, Tours of President Hayes house, and museum. You can almost hand feed the squirels running around the property, but still use caution.
It was a treat to see history in the making today! Well done everyone!
Absolutely worth the trip beautiful ground September the best time of the year to come learned a lot the grounds are beautiful best time of the year to come in September I learned a lot. His presidency and history someone mimics Trump today and the social issues we still face
