Interesting one of a kind museum. The displays were well done. I hope they continue to add more memorabilia from more first ladies.

Jason Crain

Tons of information on an often overlooked aspect of the American presidents. Sarah, at the information kiosk has a wealth of knowledge to share.

Diandra Jackson

Bob Piasecki

Very little about first ladies other than McKinley, but the tour of the house was interesting

Jason Stricker

This should be called the library of first lady Ida McKinley

Nicholas Coffee

There's so much wasted potential here. The tour and the museum both really drastically under emphasize the importance of these women. I know that's not their intent but it still needs work.

Bruce Grodhaus

This place offers a very unique tour. Everyone is very friendly and knowledgeable. I absolutely love the McKinley House.

Great, knowledgeable staff. Enjoyed my visit, but unfortunately there were problems with an alarm and we couldn't go in the house

The ladies here did a great job explaining everything to our group of over 60year olds as well as our under 10 year olds

Make sure you take the tour! The house is absolutely beautifully reconstructed and the guide was well informed and interesting. I wish I had the foyer in my own house ;)

Really enjoyed our tour. If you like history and historical sites, you'll like this tour.

It looks beautiful from the outside. There are a surprising amount of plaques around the building so I gave myself a self tour unfortunately it was closed when I got there.

Robert Hill

I was looking forward to visiting this museum and drove two hours to get there, only to find it closed due to the government shutdown. The closure wasn’t mentioned on their website or even the building sign, there was just a sign on the entrance to the parking lot. I encourage anyone wanting to visit to call ahead to make sure they’re open.

Jay Miller

This was worth the trip! We had a great guide that was very knowledgeable and friendly. They give a military discount so if you are in the military or a veteran make sure to tell them.

The replication inaugural gowns are ok but not very exciting especially since I've seen the originals at the Smithsonian. The museum itself, Ida McKinley's house, is also lacking anything unique or original artifacts, however the restoration is beautiful. Good if you are looking for something to do on a budget but not particularly interesting.

Harold Malaby

Beautiful house but was hoping for more on first ladies.

Jayne Cochran

It's was closed

Great small bank turned museum with the President McKinley home in a building with a parking deck in between. Gift shop, too. Rich in history. Lovely to see. A nice way to spend an afternoon.

The National First Ladies Museum was . . . okay or "meh" even. The home of First Lady Ida McKinley located next door to the museum was much better. Considering that the United States has 44 former First Ladies the collection and extent of this museum was paltry. This museum has extensive administrative personnel but not much in the way of "museum" and/or artifacts. The museum seems more like a dress and/or clothing repository and even at that many are facsimiles. The building in which the museum is located in, the 1895 City National Bank Building is much more interesting than the museum itself. Our three daughters were very dissapointed (ages 17, 14 & 11). It was they that wanted to go. They planned this trip. If you are in Canton for other reasons, then this would be an interesting side trip. We urge you not to plan to make this the sole purpose or reason for a trip, as we did.

Nice docents and beautiful home. they spend a lot of time talking about the Mckinley's home, life and marriage (so much more than the folks at the McKinley "library") but not much on any of the other first ladies. The home is wonderfully restored, but it too did not belong to the McKinley's or any of the other first ladies. None the less, it was well done and the staff are very nice.

Nice place to visit with friends and family. My cousin from Wisconsin who is disabled and I have been recovering from back surgery got stuck in the elevator halfway up. I couldn't sit down or move. I was very miserable during and after being rescued by the elevator company.

Robert Maihofer II

A rare miss by the National Park Service. No hours listed anywhere, closed on a Sunday during tourist season, and no one around. Basically save your effort and hit something else.

Joyce Lewis

Great learning experience

David Pantich

Interesting, but much smaller than I expected (only 1 room) & pretty much only has inauguration gowns. The tour of the Saxton house (included in entrance fee) was much more interesting. Note that there is free outdoor parking right next door to Saxton house. Parking in the garage next to the library will cost you around $8

Reginald Grant

A growing National treasure.

Lizz Fisher

The library is very nice

Ruthie R

The docents and tour guides are very well-informed. I learned a lot and the buildings themselves were beautiful! The Saxton House tour was very interesting, Ida Saxton McKinley is not a first lady that normally shows up in history, but she probably should! Definitely worth checking out if you are in the area!
