Being an official space but what better place to visit for the Apollo 11 50th anniversary! Wish I would have taken more pictures around the museum. There was lots of stuff to see and learn about Neil and his adventure to the Moon! Not to mention Wapakoneta first on the moon and getting to see Neil's childhood home was really exciting me!

Justin H

An amazing museum in the heart of it all. Great entrance fees and wonderful way to spend an hour or two learning of the great history of space travel.

Dan Francis

Very nice and informative museum, only takes about 90 minutes to get through it, 2 hours if your thorough.

Darryl Saylor

Visited the Armstrong Air & Space museum for the first time. I have to say that it was a very nice museum with a lot of artifacts related to Neil Armstrong and the trip to the moon. They had a real Gemini space capsule and numerous space suits related to Armstrong. I liked the layout, circular in nature and easy to see everything, including a real moon rock. And there was a video on America's race to the moon which was quite good and informative. I can go on and on about the museum but all I can really say is I enjoyed it quite a bit. And there was a gift shop to boot. A great place to stop by, right at the interstate 75 so if you're heading North towards Detroit or South towards Cincinnati it is worth the stop. Price wise, it was worth the $10 (adult price). My daughter, if she were with me would have enjoyed this museum. While there I noticed a large group of kids come through... So a school trip here would be quite good. And south of here in Dayton is the US Air Force Museum, another museum which may have some of the rockets and space capsules, but it lacks the nice small feel that this museum has. You can spend a good hour at the least here to see everything.

Lane Schnell

Great stop not a long stop maybe hour and a half and 2

Kenneth Manning

Packed this year. 50th anniversary celebration awesome inspite of the heat.

Cheryl Nussbaum

So much more than we expected. Perfect afternoon destination with our grandsons

Sayeth We

Not for excessive space nerds besides to tick it off. Geared towards children and less well-researched guests. Apollo 11 Section interesting and detailed, but small.

Michael Hillman

Great place to spend a rainy afternoon. Learned allot about the Gemeni and Apollo missions.

Miles S

Had a great time reliving the era of real space exploration. I was old enough to watch the actual events on the news.

Ted H

Very neat place with a lot to learn about. Very good informational movie. You go to a globe shaped planetarium which doesn't do anything and that was a big disappointment.

Eric Harrington

I found it very educating and entertaining.

Chris Glass

Had a great time checking out the historical displays. Hard to believe it's been 50 years since man landed on the moon. It was nice to share this experience with my daughter, son in law and my grandson. I was only 13 when this took place, but still remember it well!! Thanks to the museum for all they have done to preserve this historical achievement by mankind!!

Steve Cosner

Great place for younger kids 8 and 4 Staff was great work them. I highly recommend this for a short visit.

Julie Zoldak

Great activity for the day with lots of good history.

Mark Smith

Very nice museum at a great price.

John Lewis

Worth the drive, it is a great museum for those looking to not only learn about Armstrong, but the NASA moon missions as well. My boys loved it and my youngest who is just starting to read got alot of practice

Mike Black

Very cool and informative. Great staff. A bit dated, but fun nonetheless

Patrick Winn

A wonderful part of American history. This museum did a really good job.

Twila Maxwell

Everything was very interesting. Thanks for the Moon experience.

Cynthia Edwards

Nice collection of historic items, and educational. Kid friendly.

Stephen Casher

A fun, educational experience for the kids and worth the visit. It's fairly priced but the exhibits do seem a little tired. For example, the electronic simulators were out of order, the projection movie was smaller than expected, etc. It was still a solid 4-star experience.

shipwhit

Really cool place. Well worth a visit. Its a piece of history. Has really cool stuff to see. Awesome gift shop as well.

Calm Videos

This museum has loads of fun facts and hands on activities for kids. Half way through in the dome is a short movie about the Moon landing. Our kids learned so much and we truly enjoyed every minute.

Ken Wilkins

I have visited the Armstrong Air & Space Museum in Wapakoneta, Ohio (at the junction of I 75 & US33) many times. I lived 10 miles west in St. Marys for 34 years and drove past the museum twice a day from 1978 to 2012. Neil Armstrong was originally from St. Marys but his family moved to Wapakoneta where he grew up most of his young life. Armstrong was the first man to land on the Moon on July 20, 1969. I remember watching this on TV. On the 25th anniversary of this day in 1994, I visited the museum for a special ceremony to commemorate this event. The museum has a Gemini capsule and a plane flown by Armstrong. I liked the mirrored infinity room in the museum and the other memorabilia. It's hard to believe that in July it will be 50 years since the Moon landing. Since I now live in Nevada, I won't be visiting the museum this time. If your near the museum on July 20th, it would be great to visit on the day of the 50th anniversary.

Brian Clark

Exhibits for adults. Rides and things for young kids. Nice day destination.

Pat Bender

Very Wonderful educational fun day we had with 2 grandsons! Apollo 11 Team were all 3 above average individuals

Lorraine Began

A marvelous tribute to Ohio's first man on the moon. A short trip from Cleveland, a must see for any space buff

Walt Sanders

It’s worth the stop if you are on vacation or traveling. Limited on things to see but it is very informative and extremely interesting if you are interested in space. I enjoyed the whole place

L Moore

Great place to spend an afternoon. Guides are super friendly and knowledgable. Really enjoyed the movie. Gift shop too.

Steve C

Cool place, lots to see, reasonable admission prices. Nice picnic area too. Plenty of parking and restaurants nearby too.

Neil Farr

50 years ago Neil and his co-astronauts flew 280,000 miles in a metal canister the size of a small bathroom. Although not the Smithsonian, this museum focusses more on Neil Armstrong and the life up to his first step onto our moon. This place is about history and it does it very well, and although the exhibits aren't ultramodern - hey it's 50 years ago! Worth a visit if you're nearby

james myers

If you love NASA history you love this place.

Douglas Hoskins

Could really use some updating and cleaning. Many of the displays had a layer of dust on them.

jack wynn

Fun place to learn about the space program. A little on the older side, but a nice destination for the younger people. Wish the gift shop had more NASA memorabilia.

Paula Kopka

A nice tribute to Neil Armstrong and all who were involved in the early space program.

Ghost Rider714

The kids had fun and it wasn't expensive. A cool place to stop in right off i75 plenty of parking

Greg Glassmeyer

First off We had a great time there, but make sure you realize it’s not an all day attraction. Plan on about 2-3 hours (depending on how much/little you want to read and how much time you spend in the gift shop). It was great to learn about Neil and how proud his hometown is of him. The exhibits were interesting and informative. I liked seeing newspaper headlines from across the globe about the historic moon landing.

Beth Oligmueller

Worth a stop, with history of Armstrong and space program. Need to update some exhibits. Can tell some updates have recently been done.

Cheri Smalley

Valuable history. Activities for all ages.

Jennifer Brown

Used to go all the time when I was a kid and lived there. Went just for the festival a couple weeks ago. And going back next week with my kids!

Kimberly Mortenson

Love this bar. Live next to O's but come here! Friendly bartenders, not tacky like other bars, live music is great, yummy cheese sticks!

Justin Webb

Nice, informative and interactive Museum of not only Neil's life, but also of Ohio native astronauts as well.

Mark Lambert

Amazing amount of historic items, bit needs to be cleaned and updated.

Wilson W Wilson

i was 11 years old when they landed on the moon this place is great it is history it is stuff to see now while you can

Marc Fecker

We had a great time at the Armstrong Air & Space Museum. Brought a group of 25 adults and elementary aged kids and provided the museum very little notice we were coming. They were incredibly hospitable & knowledgeable and provided us excellent support on-site. Our kids left very inspired and happy. We spent 1 1/2 hours there although we could have used a little more time.

Brian Wright

I would deduct a star for the exhibits and displays being dated but they are undergoing construction and updates. One star added back for the very enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff.

SAE Miller

Museum dedicated to Armstrong and his career. It has many memorabilia plus other aerospace artifacts. Right along the expressway it’s an easy stop. Adults are 8 and kids get a discount. Cool gift shop also.

Abby Messmer

Very interesting! We didn't have much time to visit when we went because we were on our way home from a roadtrip and decided to make a quick stop. Wish we would have stayed longer tho! They have a video that is really neat that lasts about 30 minutes so I would suggest giving yourself at least an hour and a half if not more to get through the whole museum and really absorb the information!

Theresa Schaefer

We very much enjoyed this museum. Great information, interesting exhibits, and even some interactive elements. I learned a lot about Neil Armstrong and also about the space race. I wish I could come back for thr 50th Anniversary party in June!

Edward V

Fun place I really enjoyed myself there.

Jack Broering

Museum isn't too big and probably better suited for people who like to read. Interesting facts but not as interesting for kids.

Jonathan Orth

Awesome place to learn so much about the space race from the beginning till now, very, very knowledgeable tour guide, great guy!!

Steve Buss

It was fun just really crowded due they was 50 years anniversary of the moon walk

G A

We spent a couple hours exploring space exploration and the life of Neil Armstrong. A nice museum with lot of artifacts and information with a documentary part way through celebrating space travel and the first steps on the moon (by an Ohioian).

claire martin

Interesting but well worn areas. Hard for handicapped.

TL R

Spec-TACK-u-lar tribute to the First Man. Don't forget to get a cool commemorative T to wear with pride. You'll be surprised to learn how many astronauts hailed from Ohio, and how big a role this region played in the space race.

Mike Stamm

Great place to visit.

Dennis Weidner

Visited this as a kid in the 80s took my sons since it is the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11. Friendly staff, good price. Nice job of covering not only the US lunar program and what led to it, but they covered the Soviet side as well. Which was verying interesting for our older son who was born in Russia. It may have been the timing we were there about a month before the anniversary of the landing so they had a few displays empty or being redone. That is the only reason for 4 stars.

Seth Brown

We looked at the space artifacts and it was wonderful!

Aurora FireHawk

The family had a great time. Thank you to all the knowledgeable people at the museum that explained some of the exhibts. I definately recommended going. It is important for our younger generations to remember the hard work and sacrifices that these special men and women have given for the entire world. One note to the museum...the display of Neil Armstrong's medal is beautiful but i would love to know more about each one. Maybe labels to explain where they are from would be great.

Doug Hammond

I grew up visiting this place and it has aged pretty well. First Man on the Moon. Awesome.

Nicolas Miller

Very cool experience especially if you like space! Be sure to check out where Neil Armstrong grew up too! It's very close by!

Susan Powers

Lived in that area for 10 years and never went to it, came back on a visit and finally got to see it. It was well worth the trip. Pretty embarrassing it took me that long tho.

Trevor Whited

What a great place to spend few hours on a rainy day. Learn about some truly Great American Heros! One of the few places in the world that you can see a moon rock! The dome for the movie theater is really cool. And all of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I highly suggest you visit if you never have.

Rusty Bell

A lot of astronaut history and artifacts on display. The move needs an update, but still good.

bridget highwood

Some interesting exhibits and the film was good. We were expecting more as it was the 50 year anniversary of the moon landing but that wasn't even mentioned. Staff were all very friendly and helpful.

Selma Sherman

Nice place to go, I think $8 is a little pricey but I will go again

Victoria Cornell

Many interesting small details and in depth information about our endeavors in rocket technology and space exploration. Much more in depth than the Air Force museum is able to dedicate space to. It is worth a trip and a few hours.

James A. Sturgill

Such an awesome part of the history of our state. Glad I finally stopped!

Gwenda McElhaney

So inspirational everyone needs to visit here...Don't wait

Dawn Bloomfield

Great place for the whole family. But it costs but I think it's well worth the money.

Lisa Elchert

We had a great time. Our grandsons even wanted to go back after we left for lunch.

Amanda Cobb

It was very hot but really cool to learn about the neil armstrong space mission and history of the town. Really enjoyed all events and shows that were present during the whole summer moon festival ...Awesome !!!!!

William Brockmeyer

Really cool place if you are into early space missions.

Шаман

Small place but very well done museum with 30 min show movie about nil Armstrong

Tim Kirchhofer

Great new addition. Great place to bring the family.

Tim Borkowski

Great history. Nice people. No air conditioning on a 90 degree day. Still don't understand why there so much Space Shuttle stuff when Neil Armstrong never flew on the Space Shuttle. Everyone really nice.

Scott Stoops

The museum is focused primarily on Neil Armstrong and his involvement with the space program. Still, there is a strong representation of the significant men and women who played vital and integral roles in the US Space Program. Definitely worth the trip to Neil Armstrong's hometown.

Gregory Madison

Wonderful and theres even some good props for the selfie or family picture.

Christina Kelley

This place was pretty fun for our older children. I would say kids over 5 would have the most fun! There is a lovely picnic area, but we couldn't take advantage of it on the wet day that we went.

Jim Tabor

It's great history and a nice tribute. But not much to it.

Kae L

So many interesting & neat things to see & read! Quite a few interactive displays & things too! They have so many artifacts on display too! They also have a gift shop with neat related things from tshirts, hats, toys, games, keychains, patches, books & even little astronaut outfits! Lots of photo opportunities as well & a little theater where they do a short little film about the first trip to the moon!

Jennifer Wakely

This was our family's first trip here and while it was brief it was also very nice. It was affordable. It was educational. It was conveniently located next to the freeway so it was impossible to miss. There are places to eat nearby. The staff were helpful, prompt, and friendly. We had a great time!

Kenneth Amick

It was very cool place to go and have a great time

John Cain

Well done for a small museum, worth the cost of admission. There were enough things for the kids to keep themselves occupied with while I perused the displays. Very nice tip of the hat to the Russians and their efforts, with credit given where due. The short movie brought back all the memories of the event when I was a child. Warning: The kids are gonna be all about the gift shop!

Benjamin Cole

Great little museum with a lot of family activities, things to learn, and a cool gift shop to get your astronaut ice cream fix. Flow of people through theater/documentary needs work.

Ben Leppla

Joseph Reinhart

Great museum with very knowledgable staff.

As of June 27. 2019 the museum is doing minor remodeling inside, looks like they are adding new exhibits. If you have kids is a good place to bring them for a afternoon. Not great for babys but bigs kids will enjoy it. Overall it was great. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Stephona Hubbard

There is some fascinating memorabilia here! I was only inside for a few minutes due to time constraints, but the people were extremely understanding and welcoming. I'll definitely be going back!

Robin Castle

Great place to learn the history of the race for space. Great exhibitions and clean facility.

John Somerville

Not too big that you are exhausted at the end. Not too small either. The guide at the museum was enthusiastic and interesting.

This place is outstanding. The staff are really nice, exceptionally trained at their job. They made me laugh quite a bit. The showing of the moon landing was excellent as well. This is something you'd have to see for yourself. Do yourself a favor and come visit this absolutely astounding museum.

Bill Eshenour

Great history for a great American

Jackie Nagy

Very interesting and educational. Don't miss the movie in the theater!

Angela Smith

I gave it one star because the website says it is open Tuesdays at 9:30am. We went, walked up to the door and there was a sign that says, closed Mondays and Tuesdays during March for construction!!!!! Sure would have been nice for the site to say that and a sign near the parking lot!!!

Josh Perkins

What a cool place to visit! It's not very big, but they have things you can't see anywhere else. It's worth a stop if you're passing through, or it's worth the trip on its own if you're a space nerd like I am.

Christine Havard

Neil Armstrong was my childhood hero so this was amazing for me. Small but very interesting .

Borkowski Creations

No ac. So hot. Very dark

Mike Morton

Much more informative and interesting than I was expecting. Would recommend planning to spend a couple hours here if you want to read everything.

Matthew Woods

After many years of hearing about, and making plans to visit, we finally made it and let me tell you, it was totally worth the wait, the crowds and the drive! This is a somewhat smaller museum that is a little "out of the way" but is packed with so much wonderful stuff! The collection includes: The actual Gemini 8 space craft along with Armstrong's Gemini 8 suit. His backup Apollo 11 suit. A moon rock that came back on Apollo 11 and so much more! This is now on my list of museums to return to several more times! In short: Wow!

Paula Eisenhauer

Great museum

Jeff Phillips

Really nice museum. It's good to see all of the recent upgrades. Definitely worth a visit. The Christmas lights display is an added bonus
