Really cool venue, great selection of art.

Smaller sized museum with three exhibition halls (one on each level) and a separate space over a skybridge. Current exhibition mainly focused on art by women, but another exhibition focused on non-visual art. Overall, I found it to be well curated.

Dan Novacek

The instructor for the class is amazing. He was funny and intelligent and very helpful.

Minon

Very nice art

Another wonderful visit to Plains Art Museum today. Architecture For The Birds was fantastic!

Very, very good! The 3 major exhibitions were excellent. The activity room for kids was engaging for them, they didn't want to leave! This is one of the gems of the Fargo metro area. Admission is free.

A great art museum. Worth the visit. I have been here many times and have never been disappointed. The staff is wonderful.

Fargo does not have the reputation it deserves and it's Old Broadway area which, this museum is very close to is part of the reason that most people should rethink their opinion of Fargo. Although Fargo seems to have the reputation for being a college town or a place for Canadians to shop this vibrant little city has a very rich culture and the Plains Art Museum may be the epicentre of that culture. Honestly, if you're a Canadian visiting Fargo to do your 48 hour trip (to avoid paying duty) or even a Fargo resident who's not explored much of the city I highly encourage you to spend not a few hours but the entire day in the Old Broadway area. You'll find incredible food, drinks, sometimes music, and culture such as the Plains Art Museum. Also, constantly changing and multiple exhibits make the Plains Art Museum something you can visit again and again. I know I'll be visiting again soon

I was presently surprised by this museum. My expectations were low, but they had a nice variety of art work and it was larger than I expected. The galleries were well put together and easy to view all exhibits. It’s definitely worth a stop.

A great place to bring the family and anyone from out of town. Located right in the heart of downtown Fargo.

This is an excellent art gallery/museum. Sensitive use of light and space make them exhibits easily digested. The works on display when I visited were simply wonderful.

Honestly the best place in Fargo/Moorhead for a reception. While it is somewhat pricey compared to your traditional venues, to us, it was worth everything we paid. You get the whole Museum for your guests which makes 250 not feel as crowded. We ate on the third floor, had the dance, bar and seating for guests on the 1st, and the 2nd was available for people who needed a break or wanted to take pictures. Also a great place for parents with children who needed some space. We also had a fabulous wedding planner named Penny through the Plains who walked us through everything we needed before the big day, was always available for any questions or last minute ideas we had, and was there during the dinner and reception to make sure everything went smoothly. I would highly recommend the Plains for anyone looking for a modern, non-traditional wedding venue!

Boring.

I've never been a museum person, but a guided tour through the Plains Art Museum was a ton of fun... our guide was informative and the art was actually really interesting to see. Plus, it's FREE, so we spent a cold winter afternoon there looking through the interesting pieces. Don't feel like you have to get a ton out of a trip here or "understand" art. It's just fun to see the things people create, even if you quickly stroll through (AND the displays rotate frequently so there'll be something new if you revisit).

CORA BUCHHOLZ

Good art. Fun place. neat history.

Brian Smart

Love this art museum. Free admission for students. While it is admittedly small, it is gorgeous inside and has such amazing local and regional art.

Debbie J

Be More Colorful

Beautiful architecture and hosts many events. Always something interesting!

Michael Kempsey

This "Hat's off" salute to the museum is earned because they brought a afternoon of culture to west Fargo by co-hosting the "Pollination Party" at Rabanus park. There were answers to questions about "pollinating" cool drink, snacks ( I didn't partake) and all around a great Sunday in the park. Great job completed by friendly people.
