Right now this firm has a rating of 4.6 stars over 5 and this rating was based on 288 reviews.
As you can read, the average score it has is practically the top, and it's based on a very large number of reviews, so we may be pretty sure that the assessment is very faithful. If there are many people who bothered to give their feddback when they've done well, it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to give tatings when they are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Museum corresponds to the category of Museum.
Really loved it!
Very interesting. Also in same block as Frontier village and giant bison statue. Village was free and worth the stop.
Just went there for the big buffalo. It was a big buffalo.
Lots of fun. Great information. Super inexpensive with very friendly and helpful staff.
Fun, little museum and gift shop. Me and the largest buffalo statue!
These creatures deserved better
So cool!! The staff was friendly, and the main attraction the Buffalo was so awesome!! Truly grand!
Some roadside attractions off of 94 are underwhelming, but this one is worth the detour! It hits all the right buttons with equal amounts of information, kitsch & fun. It is actually 3 attractions in one- the Buffalo Museum, the Frontier Village & the worlds largest buffalo sculpture- that's a lot of roadside bang for your buck! The buffalo museum itself is nicely curated and very informative, I think it's the perfect introduction to the history of the buffalo in America before you head farther west and see some for yourself!
Great place to learn about the buffalo of the great plains. Very educational and some fun stuff too.
Very nice attraction. Great for people travelling.
Nostalgic throwback of history.
Super fun little museum! 10/10
Excellent display of art and decor
Wife wanted to see the world's largest buffalo
Historical old town, great for learning more about the area and history of North Dakota.
I love it
Very interesting, a lot o see there
Saw the white buffalo!! Not many people get to see a white buffalo in their lifetime!! Very sacred to receive this blessing! So worth the trip!!
museums not worth the price but the village is pretty awesome and the people are very nice!
This is the second time we have stopped in on our travels. Love being able to see the buffalo and enjoy the walk around the town. The museum has a great little free library and the tour inside is very informative. We really enjoy the walk around the Frontier Village also.
Very nice
If you're at all genuinely interested in subject matter you'll enjoy this small but well done museum. Learned about white Buffalo. I loved the art the most.
Nice experience
Great place
Not what I expected. Friendly and helpful staff.
Sad we didn't get to see the white Buffalo. He was in the canyon hiding today.
Good place to get out and stretch your legs and glimpse by gone Americana.
Didn't see any live buffalo... but the buildings on the pioneer village were interesring
Really awesome! The view from the world's largest Buffalo is something you can't put in words! I've eaten Buffalo, but never seen one before I stopped here. The small frontier town is interesting, and the general store has a lot of nifty, albeit very expensive, items.
Great place to take the kids and they have some neat little shops.
Also have Louis l'amour's house there. A lot of information on buffaloes. And a little antique town.
Great stop on a long road!
Not to much live Buffalo
Very cool, huge buffalo. Very nice frontier village there as well. Nice spot to stop! Live buffalo herd but did not see them during our visit.
Great experience, lovely gift shop
Educational for kids and adults, learn more about our history right here in our home state of North Dakota
I enjoyed this place. Small but good. I think kids would enjoy a stop here. Very affordable. Plus, there is an observation deck to look at the buffalo. The gift shop has great gifts too.
One of my favorite places to stop in North Dakota. I am a huge fan of white cloud, what an amazing animal. Also the museum is packed full of information. Also you should know that what we call buffalo are actually American Bison or Tatanka. When European people first saw them they looked like water buffalo. American Bison
Lots of cool history, and a great way to burn a couple of hours.
Straight forward a little pricey, but my daughter loved it.
Museum was small, old village was nothing fancy, and buffalo herd was not visible. The giant buffalo statue was really cool though.
Got to save the Bison animal and team.
There horse manure between building's and the buffalo needs repaired really bad.
It's a little touristy but good information. Plus they have an albino buffalo
Its a small museum with some good exhibits and information. However some of the information is hopelessly out of date. The Soviet Union ceased to exist 26 years ago but is still referred to in several information panels.
I've not been in the museum itself but have gone to see the bison and the gift store. You can also buy bison meat at the gift store.
Awesome! Buffalo rule. A must see.
Great place to go. Very interesting.
Very friendly people beautiful museum to visit love it.
Not much to do
This is a nice little roadside stop where you can see a small herd of buffalo in an enclosed field behind the museum. You may even see their resident white buffalo. The museum itself is tiny and ludicrously overpriced. So, skip thay part and just enjoy the gift shop, outdoor vista, and nearby giant buffalo statue.
The art exhibit is truly amazing. The story of how we almost completely wiped out the Buffalo is a sad one. The museum does a good job of telling this part of our history.
Nice little antique shop there.
It was as expected. Plenty of info and some buffalo outside.
Went there to kill some time and didn't realize that we spent almost 3 hours there. Very informative and interesting
Fun area to visit.
Great stop.
Biggest buffalo in the world, white albino buffalo too. Take you picture under this concrete monster. My guess is over 30 ft tall by 60 long. I would go again and have told alot of people about this place. One of the coolest picture memories we have.
Unfortunately, I arrived when they were closing, but if you are in the area a must stop.
Nice free stop, but I have yet to see a Buffalo after several visits.
Super cool place to visit!
nice!!!
Great place
Having fun
Cool place to drop by.
Great place to stop for a wander through ND history! Great displays and collections.
This Museum is a must see! There are 2 White Buffalo among the heard in the pasture adjacent to the museum. Inside the Museum is a beautifully restored White Buffalo named White Cloud, along with many other professionally prepared exhibits for all ages to enjoy. The theater runs an informative movie about the history of American Buffalo. If you visit in the early morning when they open or in the evening when it’s cooler, (or both, like we did), you may get a longer look at the White Buffalo (Bison), out in the pasture and visible from the parking lot. This is an amazing experience to see the White Tatanka(Bison). I can’t say enough about the Museum Director, Ms. Xinos, as she was very accommodating, along with her staff. They were informative and engaging. They could tell us about the character of the White Buffalo and their interactions with the heard. The gift shop has some very reasonably priced and appealing gifts. Outside the Museum is the giant Buffalo statue that the kids will love, and the Historical town. There’s something for everyone!
Never see any buffalo when you are there been there a few times
Great place super informative.
Espectacular mi mejor experiencia !!!! very nice people over this little town, ;-)!!! My family and I live there for few months many years ago in 2009... so sad I don't have to much pictures from there.... I don't know if the white buffalo is still there but we are
Was very interessing
This was our first time coming here at it was AMAZING! Thank you guys for all that you do there!
Under construction currently but should be back in action soon!
World's largest buffalo! Fun little historic town. Live Buffalo to view and a super cool Museum about Buffalo! Worth the stop
This place is awesome! The Buffalo statue is great, the museum is great and the old Frontier town is wonderful. Easy to find right off the highway! Highly recommend!
Great hospitality. Great pass over for the night. Owner is wonderful and has a wonderful warm personaility. Ty so much.
A super unique place. Definitely must visit place if you are around.
What a wonderful experience! We learned some new things and gained a muh deeper appreciation for these magnificent creatures. Thank you!!
clean in some places
National Buffalo Museum is a fun place to visit while in Jamestown. Lots of things to learn and see while there. Going during the winter it'll be a lot quieter and going in the summer there'll be more activities going on in the Frontier Village.
Super friendly place, very informative, and very good at answering question
Very informative.
A great little museum for Buffalos. Pricey for the size of the indoor exhibits, but the money also goes to support the herd which is the real reason to go.
Everything you ever thought you knew about buffalo and then some. Bound to become more expansive in years to come.
Must see and gives veterans discount
Free with a lot to see! Nice general store and souvenir/antique shop
we love the frontier village that was right beside the museum as it was free. The museum was operated primarily so it costed to get in. We did love seeing the buffalo and the largest buffalo statue in the world, 26' tall.
Good value for admission price. Short documentary gives info on bison in 1800's. Museum includes history, bronze sculptures, rifles, Native American beadwork-- all well displayed in glass enclosures. Herd including a white calf are visible from museum viewing platform or from short walk to outdoor sculpture. Parking for RV/bus is thru the Frontier Town into a dead end parking lot at the museum and VERY limited. Probably unwse for Big Rigson weekends or during summer
Very informative film and many exhibits.
We had a lot of fun here. Didn't have a chance to go into the museum itself though, we just wandered around outside as a quick pit stop and because we'd never stopped at the giant buffalo before. Totally worth it! Really fun area to see. Will try to stop and see the museum itself at some point. There are a lot of fun period shops around there as well that looked really cute.
So much history so close to the expressw9.
Cute place! Great for families, couples, or groups. I highly recommend the gift shop before the Jamestown village, the people who run it are lovely. The giant buffalo is a must see along with the buffalo family at the gift shop! P.S. if you see the buffalo, buy a feed bag for 50¢ from the front counter... they love it!
Great place to stop on our journey. Stop at the Visitors Center . Awesome lady working today.
The museum was amazing. The pioneer town was not open when I was there. It appeared to be a fun place to visit during opening times. Got to view a herd of buffalo, complete with the rare white buffalo.
Fulfilled dream of riding in a stagecoach!! Friendly staff and clean facilities.
Did not go in but looked well done but small.
Very cool place!
If you are driving through I-94 in North Dakota, then take the time to stop, especially if you have kids. It is very neat.
Interesting and if you are lucky the albino buffalo will be in view
This was fun. A little on the touristy side but interesting... And if you are interested in louis lamour this is where he was until around age 12. Real buffalo, including 2 white buffalo. Pony rides and a stage coach rides and the world's largest buffalo to boot. The goat was fun too...
Interesting museum about buffalo. There are some nice stories and exhibits. Recommended.
Good chance of actually seeing buffalo in the field and a giant statue of a buffalo. It did not disappoint.
I loved the whole place. The Buffalo Museum the little town you can walk around in. The whole place it great!
Awesome
Really neat, well laid out museum, and very interesting. Definitely worth the stop! And the frontier town next to it was fun to walk through.
We loved it! Best day in our 8 day driving adventure !
The Museum is not FREE. The gift shop staff was friendly and helpful.
Lots to learn about bison and the native americans that relied on them.
Educational. Family friendly
Saw the giant buffalo from the interstate had to stop. Very cool place to visit
Nice place, have lots of interesting views and ideas that helps visitor knows the origin of the buffalo.
Such a fun spot. Everything was really cute very enjoyable free. stop and take your kids they will love it
Great place to stop enjoy
GREAT experience !!! Well worth the stop. Love watching the buffalo!!!
A fun stop on a very long I-94. It has nice exhibits and friendly staff.
Nice place to stop and visit. The western town is free and the museum does charge. We were there for about 2hours. Unfortunately the white buffalo has passed away.
Wonderful way to spend an afternoon. Family friendly!
Interesting place. Saw an albino buffalo in the pasture. Very nice old frontier town next to the concrete buffalo named Dakota Thunder.
Great place for the whole family. Lots to see and very exciting. I felt like a kid in a candy store. Highly recommend if you’re driving through or looking for a place to relax.
Great history on the restoration of the American Buffalo from nearly extinct. I did not see Dakota Legend, the white buffalo in the herd. And on my first trip to the herd, they were out by the highway. My second trip, they were behind the museum and moved toward the Frontier Village (which is free). Admission wasn't too bad, $8/adult.
Love this place, the gunfight with Ike and the rest if the gang is fun to watch, stagecoach was enjoyable with my granddaughter
Nice stop on our road trip. Tours are only $7 and there is lots to see, plus funds go to help preserve the herd. We enjoyed the views of the parking lot!
Saw a few buffalo on the other side of the large buffalo but no white buffalo... So mysterious!! Neat museum!
A fantastic little museum! I loved watching the herd out back.
Wow a place to go
Museum was better than I expected even has real fur out so you can touch it!
Very nice collection.
Very interesting site.
Have you ever seen a white buffalo? This museum hosts one. The art and relics in the museum are very interesting.
Always well kept and friendly staff. I have been there several times and it still takes me a good 4 hours to walk through and see everything.
Nice place to visit. Didn't see any live buffalo but the statue was high. Take some time to go through the town replica, it was interesting. They have some rides for kids but not our cup of tea.
Cool and interesting place to visit just off of Interstate 94 in a very scenic location. If you are driving across the great plains, this is a great place to learn about (and see) the animal most ubiquitous with its landscape and history. Well worth the stop. Plus, the World's Largest Buffalo statue is nearby.
Always love stopping by this place to see the buffalo. Never disappoints. Been stopping by the big buffalo since 82
Good place to go. Take the kids or anyone for that matter. Very enjoyable and worthwhile. I want and intend to go back some day.
Great stop, see the museum!
Fun and interesting stop as we traveled across the state.
Great displays really nice people
The biggest buffalo was fun and there's a small play ground too. The kids needed it on our long road trip. There are real buffalo to view as well as a few nanny goats. It was a fun and inexpensive place to stop.
Amazed at this wonderful little museum. A lot to see and learn. The live buffalo were hiding in the shade of the trees and we were not able to see them, but that did not diminish the museum's welcome and charm.
Great displays, artifacts, gift shop and movie.
It's a good place to visit and spend time around the east of ND. Also, a pioneer site along the way to the biggest Buffalo statue.
Pretty good!
History buff hide out
I only had time for the gift shop and I love it!
Highly recommend. Tons of history and a bunch to learn. Well worth the admission price if you ask me
Albino buffalo .
I had a lot of fun here. I learned a lot looking through the museam and got see a lot of beautiful artwork. The buffalo were really cool to look out and some of the binocular things were free (I know most of them are 50 cents but as a person who doesn't carry enough change, its a lot). Good for kids, lots of places to walk around and look at and learn. Good picture spot too. Gift shop and icecream too.
Great place. The white buffalo was really cool to see. We loved the frontier town.
