Interesting history of Medora.

Alexis Tassone

The interior of the house is rather disappointing given the exterior, the wealth of the family, and the era. Still, it is neat to see original and period artifacts.

Connie Olson

Visitor Center had very informative displays. It was just a short three block walk from The Visitor Center up to the beautiful home. Fascinating it has been maintained so well. The views were gorgeous!

Decent place to visit; the house has a lot of flies internally (not 100% sure why), but great scenery. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend wasting money on the house tour—if you’ve seen the inside of your grandma’s house then you’ve see what you’re paying for here.

What a fantastic experience to be able to step back in time to the 1880s and visit the Marquis and Madame De Mores! The estate has been beautifully restored with a lot of the artifacts still pristine. This is a must do for anyone in the area whether you're interested in history or not. I had no idea this much history was here in ND! If you are lucky enough to get Donald to tell you about the Estate, you will be in for a treat. He is so knowledgeable on everything from that time period, and more. Very personable, nice, and helpful. No question will be left unanswered with Donald!

Make sure you find the walking path and visit the old buildings down the hill! There is also an old root cellar which you can find tucked into one of the hills down there.

It's nice to visit the first home of Medora and learn about the life of the one who built the town. You'll see some original items in the house and understand a bit more about the family life of the time. Well preserved and well presented. This is a quick tour but it's worth it if you are in the area for a few days.

Not huge, but unlike a lot of historic homes, you get to see all the rooms. Tour "guide", an elderly gentleman, was great, knew a lot and answered all our questions

Tifani Pust

Amazing historical site, with astounding actual in-home items and photos. The authenticity is great and the added information creates a wonderful representation of the Marquee and his wife. You gotta see this!

Daniel Scherer

Would have given it a higher rating maybe even 5 stars if the Chateau was open as stated on the website; however only the gift shop/Interpretive Center is open October through May.
