This old town set up in Fargo is just the coolest. The buildings and houses have props from the time era and I thought it was like walking into that time period. It was quite the experience! We went on 4th of July so there was a parade when we arrived. I thought it was the coolest! Perfect atmosphere for the day. Go see this town with your family. But you need a few hours to see it all. Worth it!
Park was interesting. Lots of antiques to look at. Old buildings and history cool to see. We basically had the entire park to ourselves.
Lots of fun. Very interesting and informative.
Had a great time. Lots to see.
My wife and I were rather disappointed as there wasn't any staff in any building facilitating anything. Bonanzaville does have an awesome collection of items that are of interest to most age groups. Audio would be of help.
Wonderful replicas...best I've seen
Loved this place. Great exhibits. Some "hands on" exhibits. Lots of walking, as there are multiple buildings. You need to go outside to go between buildings.
Have not been there was at big iron
If you are even the slightest bit interested in history, this place is a must see! There are lots of antique vehicles, planes etc. Lots of history about the settlement of the area.
Wonderful place to learn about history.
Way over priced since half the buildings are either under maintenance or closed for some reason
A tribute to human ingenuity and determination in forging a better life for future generations!
Bonanzaville is a collection of historical buildings, artifacts and dioramas mainly from the pioneer times. Bonanzaville is laid out like a small town with various buildings including a train depot, church, log cabins, newspaper and barber shop. The main building is very well done but the out buildings are in need of general maintenance and cleaning. It's a little hard to find so be sure to google it and allow 3 to 4 hours to see everything. It is well worth the admission fee.
Interesting history of Fargo. My favorite was the pharmacy exhibit.
Excellent displays
I had my wedding reception and dance in Dawson Hall. It is a beautiful venue and Missy and her crew were great to work with!! Everyone was extremely helpful. I received so many compliments!! I highly recommend Bonanzaville for any special events!!
I came her with my mom because she came here a long time ago. It was a great experience to see all the buildings. My favourite was the telephone building because there were old interactive phones.
I really hope this place is around for a long time and hoping we can keep these land marks all the history of it all in good shape I love learning and seeing history everyone there are very nice I recommend everyone to go there fun
A walk thru history
Fun place with a nice historic collection from the pioneer days in the upper Midwest
A great place for school groups!
If you a appreciate history, check out Bonanzaville.
Learned a lot about Fargo's history. Many interesting things to see.
Cute, old fashioned, had a blast!
Bonanzaville was wonderful. I was passing through the area with my 83 year old mother and 7 year old great niece. There was something there for all of us! I have many pictures to prove it. It was great hearing my mom say I remember this; we used that; and telling her great granddaughter what different things were for. I love history and it needs to be preserved. Good job Bonanzaville .
Great history
Great place to bring the kids. Such a flash back
So much to see had fun with my husband on our first anniversary. TY.
This a wonderful place.
So much artifacks to look at..very neat
I loved ALL of the historic houses and Buildings I went there for a school field trip. There were church's, fire company, a town hall and much more. You sould visit Bonanzaville if you end up in West Fargo.
Like stepping back in time. I think I even walked away with cholera.
Interesting fun and a great learning experience
Great place to spend an afternoon. We had our wedding reception here. They have two venues on site, and we went with the main building venue. Priced well, very accommodating, flexible payment as well. Have a contracted bar on call with a brand new bar area. Plenty of room for lots of people. Best part was how easy it is to find and get to. One exit off of 94 and you're right there. Missy is great to work with and actually cares about what YOU want. Many of our ideas were met with "oh sure, we can totally do that!". She was there from well before the start of our day to the end! The thing we loved most was that we got the venue for multiple days, so decorating was done at a normal pace, an no cleanup that night! I'm glad we went with this place and not one of those generic overdone venues that people have been to multiple times. Our guests loved getting to tour the meusem during the reception and kept stir crazy kids entertained.
Very interesting place lots of great history
Stepping back in time. Loved the memories!
Saw a play by Harwood Prairie Playhouse. Was just awesome as always
It's a very nice place, well worth the visit. Although visiting during the week without a guide or animation felt like walking through a ghost town.
I use to go quite often and always learned alot. Now I do not live near I do not get there.
So fun to look back at how things used to be. The had people playing rolls in some of the buildings also! Went with my daughter on her School field trip.
Awesome and extensive local history in the most original and unique ways possible. There are REAL buildings to explore on a lot. Every year they have "Pioneer Days" that is a memorable and magical experience.
What a cool experience! Educational & fun!
Very disappointed. Came today June 3rd only to find out they are closed. Despite what the website, their hours on door and even the hours on the recorded line say. Says open sundays 12 to 5pm after may 1st. ... drove very far and lasted other attractions up just to see only a closed gate and door...
I took my Wife & Mom over there, they really enjoyed the time.
Had a great experience during Christmas on the prairie. Hopr theyre able to continue those traditions.
Went with a 4th grade field trip as a chaperone so we were on a time schedule. Beautiful day (might be a different experience with poor weather as there is walking outside). I enjoyed the exhibits with 'character' interaction, especially the German frontiersman and the old time store. It would be even better if there were this characters explaining things at every exhibit.
Watched some fireworks and had a good time.
Wonderful old buildings and theater
Really good I will come back there is a lot to learn there
Great for a few hours. The have some cool exhibits. It's fun if you go with a group of people. Support the preservation of Fargos history and the history of America!
Educational, great place for a historian junky to visit.
The experience is wonderful. Local history comes alive.
This place was so neat!! My 11 yr old went here for school, and begged to go back
Great taste of history especially on the days they have active docents there for a more immersive experience.
Tons of buildings to walk through. Lots of history and types of business in the town to explore.
Great exhibits old to new.
For all who are wondering, Big Thunder is a bison
A step back in time place,to wander the streets and look at old houses, the church, sheriffs office, post office, etc
Amazing historic buildings. A huge collection of vintage tractors, Bobcats and farm implements. Homes contain furniture and other items typical of the late 1800's. Plan on a visit of at least 2+ hours.
Very enlightening! Super interesting the entire way through. It is quite the experience being able to literally walk through history! I give it four stars though, due to some of the back/non display rooms in the buildings having a bit of visible trash in them. A great place to visit though! Especially on a slow day. Some of my favorite rooms/houses are the telephone section, where you can see the gears and machinery move around as you use the rotary phones to dial and the real old passenger train that you walk through. They also have many houses from different eras, old fashioned stores, barber shops and more. These places aren’t just recreations of the past, they are also a way to submerge yourself into the history of the state and country. Would definitely recommend.
A lot of history in one place
It was so good.... really enjoyed our time here. Please keep up the great work.
I took my 5 year old granddaughter and we both enjoyed the place. Lots to see and do. An excellent walk through history.
Way more than expected. Don't let the name fool you. Yes there are plenty of original dated buildings. Also there is a hanger full of really old nice cars, airplanes, and carriages. Well worth the stop.
Great place to visit. The buildings are really cool as they are original, something rarely seen. Highly recommend!!!!!!
It's ok. Not much else to do in Fargo so I'd say go. -\_**_/-
Lots of good old and interesting material to see and learn about
Very detailed history of that part of North Dakota. Amazing collections of antique cars, trucks, farm equipment, fire-fighting equipment, old buildings, even a massive snow plow in the train shed.
Some cool stuff here.
Excellent museum. Well worth the time.
Very cool to see what the older day stuff
Was there for the antiques roadshow show and enjoyed looking thru some of the displays. I am planning on returning to really enjoy the many buildings and history.
Fun
We went to the paranormal investigation and I will be back next year!!
This is a pretty cool place to take elementary-aged kids. Some fun interactive stuff, but the freedom to wander wherever is a plus.
Very cool and very large. It's a fun place to visit
Definitely worth the price of admission. My wife and I are history buffs so it's easy to say we loved it.
I've lived in Fargo for 5 years and finally got to Bonanzaville last summer, and I can't believe I'd never gone before. It's like stepping back into pioneer times. Docents dressed up like its the early 1900s are staged at various buildings to talk you through life in pioneer times. You can walk through 41 different buildings and they are all original structures from back in the day, including a church, schoolhouse, general store, and saloon. ALSO, one of the coolest things you can do is attend a murder mystery dinner or one of their ghost tours. Everyone who works there is very knowledgeable about the buildings and the thousands of artifacts, so ask questions for sure.
Great place the smell was horrible
Lot things to see for those who like about history specially for north dakotans
Pertty nice
Great museum town to visit, especially in the summer.
Wonderful! So much to see! Don' miss going there if you are in North Dakota ! You get to see things in the buildings that you just could never see anywhere else. The staff there is also very helpful and knowledgeable.
Very enjoyable for yourself and family. I loved it.
A nice reproduction of what early Fargo looked like I believe.
Easy in. Easy out. Right off highway. Close to any kind of food. And great history.
This place is awesome! There is so much to see, very easy to get lost in history and step back in time! Great for all ages and the staff is always friendly.
Lots of fun, interesting stuff to see.
This place is the heart and historical reference of Fargo and its earliest days. You’ll feel like being transported in time.
Lots of history and great parking, and easy to move around to see all the wonderful North Dakota history! A very large variety of items to see!
A step back in time
Very interesting
Always a great place to visit.
History museum of the area and huge farms .
Amazing complex of historic buildings and artifacts. Well worth the trip.
Took my mom there lots of interesting stuff very educational
Only went there 1 time to watch the fireworks show, the grounds were not open, everyone just parked in the parking lot and along the street.
Was a great field trip
Wonderful treasure trove of buildings, memorabilia and history of this region.
Loved the olde town experience! I can't believe rotary phones are considered antique!
Great museum of historic Northern life!
Very interesting historical exhibitions. From cars to planes to tractors. Something of interest for all.
Lots of historical items from many eras of the Red River Valley.
It's nice.
Very cool museum, we had a lot of fun
Very cool place
Christmas on the Prairie. Was fun. Used to have a lot more things going on and were less people there then in the past but still enjoyable.
Great historical value.
It was antique roadshow so it was great. There are some really cool displays and buildings out there too!
A must see piece of history
Great place to get a taste of the history of our great country. Live performances, actors, ancient planes, tractors, bars, and general stores.
Cool place, lots of old houses, trains, planes, and tractors. Also a nice museum
Great tour of history
Unique museum with a lot of old-timey history. Worth checking out for sure. Staff was very friendly!
Fun and educational. Very hands on.
I love the the antique cars and airplanes. I've been there numerous times and still find new things. What I love most is volunteering at Bonanzaville. There is always something that needs to be done and they are so appreciative. It makes you feel great.
Nice place for the kids.
Love the history of the place
Too. Cool. Just moved to n.d. so it was nice to learn so much history. Very nice. Will take family there when they come out to visit
A great place to explore in the area with much history.
Beautiful place for a wedding
A great place to walk through history and see how business and homes were in the 1800's.
Great family place
Loved the history at this place. Spent 6 hours there and didn't see everything there was to see. Would definitely go again
So much to see. It really shows what it's like to live in the 1800s and early 1900s.
We love visiting historic places. So much education in these places.
So much to see and do! It was actually a quick stop on the way back home. I could absolutely see spending a full day here!
Great place to learn about historical buildings
Sign said open .... website says open drove 4 hrs .... closed .
Car museum portion is the only part I saw but I was VERY nice with around 60 cars. Also had a very nice line up of Model T's.
They don't advertise the food upstairs in the Event place. Highly recommended going for that. Very nice outdoor exhibits.
Great experience, beyond my expectations
Great place for history of north Dakota
Always a blast here! They set everything up nicely and the staff is awesome at making you feel welcome.
This place was really nice and we got to see the demonstrates. We love the blacksmiths and they even made something simple for us at our request for a souvenir. We were hungry when we went and the food truck and the ice cream weren't what we wanted but as we left we went into the girt shop and main building only to see that they had a big menu with a great selection beside the elevator This would have been perfect if it was set outside for everyone to see they would have sold such. As we were walking away another family saw the sign and said wow that would have been helpful for us to know. So put the big menu sign outside so everyone can see it and you will absolutely get plenty of people wanting exactly what you are serving.
Nice displays but all the lights were out to dark to see all the displays . Guys outside kinda acted like we were invisible. No food or drink on a hot day
Nice museum, clean place
Went to a 1920s who done it here. Love the scene they had set up for it. Nice old buildings to walk through and great history lesson for kids.
Amazing place. Felt like 5-10 museums in one. Go if you like American History. Trains, Planes and Automobiles are only the tip of the iceberg.
This place was awesome! Especially if you like history!
Very sad... every time we visit this place has got worse, so many things are just broken, dirty and poorly organized. and some of the building are now closed due to the poor condition. They use stuck on paper signs that are all peeling off and cant be read. This place needs to look at what other places do.
Great place to go and look at some cool historical items. They do a good job at keeping the place up and their special events are a blast for the kids.
Good place to take the kids
Definitely suggest to go there!
I went there in the 80s and 90s as a child. I loved this place. I am excited to carry on the tradition bringing my own children there.
I like the History thanks for all
I visited Bonanzaville to find a geocache. I have been here for events before and I had a great time. I will come back again.
I love Bonnanzaville, but this time several of the buildings were locked. My favorite is the horse drawn vehicles building and we couldn't get in.
Nice place for wedding reception
Always a fun favorite
Overpriced
Bonanzaville is amazing!! There are so many interesting things to see. They have all the building you expect to see in late 19th century America. They even have a car museum and old airplanes. I was enjoying looking at the first couple of buildings, before I realized how much there truly was to see. I had to pick up my pace or I wouldn't have time to see all the things that sounded interesting. You can easily spend the entire day there and not see everything. It's a great place to bring children too.
It was a great history of North Dakota
This is the cutest quaint town. They did a murder mystery party and it was one of the most fun things I have ever done. I would come here again to tour the place and do more of their events. Everything was clean and taken care of and staff was amazing.
Great!!
Very historic, the place actually gave me the "cold" air when I go into some of the house. Very interesting experience
Lot of neat things to see
