My favorite part of the museum is the rotating gallery. I have seen some great art shows here. The house is beautiful and interesting. I would also check out the gardens.

Not cheap admission, but property is very well kept and interesting. The paintings are wonderful, easy to spend a few hours just inside. The pipe organ played electronically at 2:45.

Christopher Fable

Cool historic home and art museum

Rebecca Warren

Very educational and beautiful house

Corey Nedev

decent sized collection of art. Not worth the price, unless you are a college student.

Brandie Bowman

Beautiful home and gardens. Great place to visit.

rene descrates

beautiful arts collections

Dan Walbridge

A small and relaxed space displaying some of America’s finest artists, in a beautiful setting. As part of the Reynolda House itself, one is forced to take in the natural surroundings when arriving if only for the exhibit alone. A great experience for all ages, if the weather cooperates. Just sometimes, I wish there were more pieces of the main event and a little less filler. But whatever, this place has good fengshui.

James Bowman

The house and museum are nice, but a few of the "guards" are on power trips. You should enjoy the house as long as you don't touch anything... and you probably shouldn't look at anything to long either.

DessieDenise Goad

Beautifully decorated for the season. Historical place on the Southern heritage. It is interesting and educational too.

Rebecca Ingino

Wonderful place.

John Denton

If your into gardens, light hiking, fishing, or history this place has it all

Matt N

Very beautiful house, and if you can prove that you're a student, you can get in for free

Carolin Griebel

Beautiful grounds. Interesting exhibits. Free for WFU studens and staff.

Tom Moriarty

Interesting place. What a terribly odd layout for a house.

Layne Roundy

The house and grounds are beautiful! And the workers are very informative if you have questions! Just a wonderful experience. You can finish it quickly, or wander for hours. It's up yo you.

A K

A definite must see. True Americana. Captures the era.

Suddha K

Sooooo beautiful and the grounds are amazing. They don't allow photography inside the house but you can take as many pictures as you want outside. I kind of liked that, I got more engaged and drawn into the detail and the history.

Lisa Faulk

Great history, excellent guides, beautiful property

Bruce G. Minor

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the current exhibit and the tour of the house. You can actually imagine people living there, unlike some historic homes. Nice education about R.J. Reynolds, his family, and his legacy.

Julie Stickel

We love to visit Reynolda House any time, but especially the special exhibits. It is pricey, so we're are grateful for times it is open to the public free admission occasionally.

Ben Kornblatt

Decent art exhibits and fun seeing the old house rooms

Michelle Hofmann

So when I was a kid I came here. We visited the other week. You know what whatever kind of people have taken over can have it. Did not go in house or museum. Did not need to go in further to see what I was in store for. Keep politics out.

Alison Morgan

A historical home and estate with a museum within

Allan Duckworth

Architectural gem with wonderful eclectic art displays.

JD Nocente

Free entry with student ID, constantly changing the art venue.

Maria Fernanda Hurtado F

Beautiful gardens.

Tommy Cagle

It was beautiful n the staff was great.

David Barnhill

This compact museum has a small but truly excellent collection of masterpieces of nineteenth-century American landscape paintings by the major artists in the genre. If you like to spend a lot of time gazing into individual works of beauty, you will find this little gem of a museum a very rewarding experience.

Beau Renegar

great art gallery. would be 5 stars if the groundskeepers hadnt accidentally locked me and my friend in the gates when they closed

Neil Rotroff

Can her on community day for free and it was awesome seeing the Jackson Pollock painting and check off my list for things are needed to do before I die there is a great old building the has a cool pool bowling alley and bar and awesome sunken garden that you should take your kids and if you like taking pictures of flowers it's

Pier Carlo Talenti

It's a beautiful property. I love that the collection rotates and is displayed throughout the house just as the Reynolds might have showcased it. And the downstairs recreational facilities are amazing. That pool! The deco bar! What a way to live.

Leonard McLaughlin

I've always enjoyed visiting this beautiful house and the art work is worth the visit.

Funk Daddy

My girlfriend and I went to the Reynolda House on a date to see the art they had on exhibit. The art was wonderful but the security staff followed us around and stared at us the whole time we were there, making us feel very uncomfortable. We were dressed nicely, soft spoken, and well mannered; yet for some unknown reason they treated us if we were thieves or criminals. We have never been treated this way before, it hurt our feelings greatly.

C Dowd

Beautiful facility. Friendly and helpful staff.

Dan H

Visited July '16 This is a beautiful property, had the pleasure of going with my group- the tour guide was awesome and detailed with the tour, however for individuals there are audio guides- it's amazing the level of work that has been done in the house, the restorations, this history thats crammed in one home- there were kids here as there is a summer camp- what an awesome way to give back to the community!! It is a big house, 3 floors and a basement - the last floor is an attic l, can be crammed, mostly the house has central ac, the paintings are amazing, true US art!

Kathleen Carter

Had the privilege of having a group tour with Louise. Wow! She was fabulous. I learned so much and her delivery was perfect. The history is amazing, and the art collection is superior! Had a great experience.

Glory Main

Awesome home. Good learning day for kids. Large property.

Mike Joyce

Excellent collection... personally my favorite part of the tour was the downstairs entertainment rooms, especially the shooting gallery.

mark Roberts

A gem in Winston-Salem!

Changela Robbins

Wonderful rotating exhibits of American art, plus lectures, films, and workshops on artists and periods by professors from Wake Forest Univ. as well as visiting experts. An added bonus is the art displayed in Reynolda House itself - the home of the Reynolds family whose sire founded the Reynolds Tobacco Company. Check out original works by Grant Wood, Lee Krasner, and Frederick Remington among many others. Furnished in grand style with period European/American pieces and sporting a display of clothing and personal items used by the family, Reynolda House offers offers a peek into the lives of the early 20th century super rich. Don't forget to go downstairs for the bar, the indoor shooting range, bowling alley, squash court, gorgeous swimming pool, plus more art including vintage magazine covers. Set in more than 100 acres, Reynolda House offers great walking trails some of which lead to Reynolda Gardens, to local shops and restaurants in Reynolda Village, and to the campus of Wake Forest University.

Paola Lopez

It's beautiful and amazing! But I don't like the rules"Can't take pictures". It's unfair.

Stewart Locklear

Beautiful but the people hover over you all the time! I felt like I was in a George Orwell novel. Unfriendly people who are always watching you. I doubt I will return.

Deana, The Frugal Homeschooling Mom

Love the gardens, and touring the house is always a fun educational experience. We've been visiting for years, and never get bored.

Scott Moore

Nice relaxing trip through a beautiful house full of art and history

Randy Galluzi

Mind blowing

Linda Maiden

Really enjoyed the tour. Going back for garden tour.

Kathleen Sutter

Nice house to visit, to bad no pictures allowed inside. The Christmas decorations were beautiful. We went for the Dorothea Lange exhibit and it was excellent. The staff and docents were knowledgeable and helpful.

Wanda Balzano

great museum

Debbie Davison

Love it! Always discover something new. It leads to great conversations.

Jeremy McCabe

Interesting combination of art and a home. We liked it, it added a new angle to just touring an old, elegant home. Staff was friendly and well informed.

William Graham

Amazing benefit food truck night!

Luz Pizarro

Beautiful state

Seda Çamalan

If you want to learn the history of Winston Salem, you should see this museum! Not only the history but also the refreshing place with the huge trees and gardens ;)

Julie Smith

Fantastic American Art and Historic House Museum in one! Unique place and beloved by W-S residents. The modern addition has more space for traveling exhibits, lectures, etc. They show movies on the lawn in the summer, have camps and other events through out the year. Gardens and Village stroll make for the perfect afternoon.

Linda King

We enjoyed this adventure so much

Jermaine Smith

Great history and gardens

John Stone

Beautiful home but the complete history of the Estate is not truly being told. The tour guides are not educated on the estate enough to answer questions.

Leslie Elliott

Wonderful way to spend a day. Coolest basement ever. Perfect for art lovers, architecture enthusiasts and history buffs

Justin Newsome

Beautiful. Loved the details. Everyone always liked the basement. I like the family history details. Saw an Ansel Adams exhibit here. Kind of a rock star are exhibit compared to what I would expect here.

M D

Excellent Selection, but pricey$$$$$

mike ankner

Nice museum. Get to see RJ Reynolds house filled with art.

Denise Groleau

Geat time.

Heather Burns

What a great small collection of American artwork. I've been here multiple times and always notice something new. The art is rotated regularly and the museum exhibits allow you to really take in the art rather than be overwhelmed by so many pieces in larger collections. The docents are informative and if you are taking in the house tour, I recommend the audio guide.

Elizabeth Rawlings

Beautiful house and garden. We got in with a free pass from the library and really enjoyed it. Also worth a stop by May Way for some dumplings and a cold boba drink.

Wayne Wrights

Fantastic place to visit.

Lesley Sundstrom

We stumbled upon this magical place whilst travelling between Charleston and DC. Turned out to be the highlight of our trip.

Barbara Moses

Beautiful

reedblahblah Reedblahblah

Very bossy & pretentious security guards if they don’t like you they will constantly stalk you and harass you incessantly also the gift store is very tacky and overpriced it cheepens the experience with there hawking of chincy over priced nick nacks completely unrelated to art Also they are hiding there negative online reviews some how because there are way more one star reviews then mine you can see them if you scroll down but they aren’t listed on the tally and don’t seem to affect it ?

Don Daugherty

Very interesting educational visit

Ramsey Branam

What a wonderful place for children and adults alike. We have been members for over 2 years & our 3 year old has learned so much from this facility. The staff are super friendly and accommodating. We have been over 30 times. They showcase different areas quite often. They are growing as well as expanding.

Kevin Gray

Amongst the art are a number of areas of interest to children, including a bowling alley, vintage toy area, and Aeolian organ

Jim Dobler

This is no ordinary art museum. Enjoy the former home of R.J. Reynolds and family. Also take in the gardens and Reynolda Village.

William Graves

Great exhibit on Dorothea Lange

Robert Cantore

Very nice and modest prices. Good art on display.

Stacy Martin-Duffy

Excellent museum. We even got to see an art exhibit they had in the lower level. I highly recommend seeing this house and gardens.

jfeatherd

House was great but one of the "guards" was a jerk. He could work on his tone. Also one guide was always lurking behind the group as we toured. Sort of soured the experience.

Antonina Whaples

Always amazing exhibits in the gallery, and the classic collection in the main house. Wonderful events, movies, and other social and educational opportunities. Excellent for the family or an outing with a friend.

phyllisbaker96

My first visit to Reynolda Village..House Website didn't give much information about village, dining options, etc.so we felt pretty lost coming in. Also, gps brought us in the back way and no signs for house. Once we ended up at the Village, lack of signs was still a problem. Many signs were painted on only one side so if you were coming the wrong way you couldn't see them. Once we got oriented, it was a great visit. Food at the tavern was the best. PLEASE improve signage, both entrances and around the village.

Barbara Daniels

Beautiful but the Manor needs to be painted!!

Han Zhou

Wonderful place

John Taylor

It was a wonderful afternoon viewings the exhibits.

Shaun Hines

Love it

Lynn Dees

We had a great afternoon

John Cunningham

It's a nice place to visit and to bring your family to.

Jacob Patrick

Went for the Dorothea Lange exhibit. Absolutely stunning.

Amanda Ketner

I have been coming here for years and absolutely love it. The main house is lovely to explore, especially the attic where historic clothing and toys are on display. The museum has a great selection of American art, and the wing has excellent rotating exhibits. The grounds are beautiful to explore on a sunny day, especially the botanical garden and the trails by the lake behind the house.

Kleydi Toro

Nice place! If you are looking just to go for a walk you can do it here. If you would like to know more about the history of Reynolda family the ticket is worth it. Also without paying ticket you can access to the common areas , restaurants, stores, bakery and others where the environment is so cool.

Rp Mx

What a collection of American Art! Bierstadt, Church, Sheeler....

Libby Mix

Beautiful house. We got here a little late in the day so we didn't get a chance to see everything. Will just need to go back.

Jeffrey Black

Beautiful

Cas 63 S

Awesome well worth visiting.

Maria Warren

It was a wonderful experience. I intend to go back When I can just relax and enjoy everything. This time it was a class assignment and we were rushed to find everything on our list for class. It is a beautiful place.

Jimmy Little

Outstanding house museum and gallery. Wonderful place.

Tabitha Bennett

Nice place to make memories

Noel Hunter

It's both a historic house and an art museum, nestled in a beautiful grounds. They have one of the better collections of American art in the region, and certainly the best outside of the major NY and DC ones. They have rotating visiting exhibits in the new wing, and seasonal cultural events. It will take most people 2-3 hours to see everything.

Toni Fields

I would definitely recommend stopping here on a day trip to Winston-Salem. (I actually found it more appealing than Old Salem which is interesting but kind of predictable.) This house is available to tour and truly has some -unique- rooms and flourishings. I won't give too much away, but definitely make sure you check out the basement! In addition, these grounds include gardens, a greenhouse, walking trails, and even a mini village with shops that were all once part of this estate. It really is worth the trip! The only reason I would give it 4/5 stars is that I would have preferred if they had someone to give a live tour vs. an audio tour. Other than that, great spot!

W. Kay Angell

The admission price stuns a bit ($17) but it's a good place. I had a nice guide, and there's a good app to give visitors a quick acquaintance with the house's history. There are several paintings by nationally known artists. I enjoyed. And there's the whole Reynolda Village to enjoy.

Jami Rowley

I attend the Dorothea Lang photography exhibit and it was though provoking and very memorable. The staff very knowledgeable. I will return for future events.

Victor A Varela

Very interesting permanent collection. Looking forward to Georgia O'Keefe exhibit in the fall.

Jamell Margarita Romero Romero

The exhibitions are very expensive ($14 dollars for a temporary exhibit!, in europe best museums are less expensive)and is not a family friendly institution, strollers are not accepted inside the museum. I don't want to think, how they handled people in wheelchairs

Shannon Clark

Great way to spend an afternoon! The museum, the staff, the gardens and the shops at the Village all make for an enjoyable experience. I recommend everyone check it out.

Kendra Gallman

It was interesting... Really nice art work...

Elise Martin

Beautiful "cottage", sumptuous furnishings and a wonderful place to see an art exhibit.

Steven DeGangi

This place has a long history with me. I used to visit it quite frequently and I found it to be inspiring and even spiritual. It is a gem of a place.

Lyssa Johnson

Absolutely beautiful

Heather Holbert

Susan Carr

Ray Celeste Tanner

Beautiful home and lovely artwork. Don’t miss the costume collection upstairs!

Anand Mahadevan

What a beautiful place, very pretty grounds and the house is so historic

Maria Alioto

Going to Reynolds House is always a joy for me. The house is beautiful and they do change the in- house exhibits so there is always something new to see. Their featured exhibits are always well researched and presented. I have seen the following at the house: OKeefe, Dorothea Lange, and, most recently, Hopper to Pollock exhibits. The venue is small and the exhibits are usually all on one level. In contrast to huge museums(which are a delight in their own right), you are not overwhelmed by the venue and thus makes viewing the special exhibits a relaxing pleasure. The gardens are beautiful and I am looking forward to returning when all is in bloom. The staff is also excellent. My only regret is that it is about 2 hours away from where I live.

Vadim Vulfov

Interesting museum

Wayne Smaridge

Beautiful place. Loved seeing it all. Friendly people.

Drew Coulter

It is like walking through a P G Wodehouse story.

Temo Tarrago

Rose Lane Mable

I been here twice. I love it. Would love to go at Christmas time.

John McRae

Beautiful, historic house. Lots of American Fine Art including, sculpture. Great staff who seem to enjoy working there.

Ben Beaumont

Loved the trip to this museum. Free for students!!!

Kristine Taylor

We were very impressed with our visit to see the George Catlin's American Buffalo exhibit in 2015 because the gallery is very intimate and well thought out and there are revolving exhibits during the year to keep things interesting. The American artwork displayed throughout the beautiful Reynolds home is an interesting collection of works too. It's a bonus that you can walk the lovely grounds for free during your visit!

Jon Olson

Very interesting house with a lot of information. Friendly staff.

Lisa Beasley

A well kept historical home. The artwork by American artists is very diverse. There is so much to see. You can easily spend a couple of hours or more here. Students with ID get in free.

Pamela Viera

A step back in time, captivating.

Cacilda Cunha Camargo

Interesting

Paulette Chapman

Nice museum & exhibition

Brian Thome

Ridiculously overpriced. For $20, you see a rather modest home and about 6 paintings. Spent about 45 minutes.

Linda Honour

Beautiful house and art.

Patty Rosado

Nothing special, and expensive .

Kendall Overton

I had the worst experience of my life at this museum. Two of the staff members followed me the entire time I was there. i was very uncomfortable and I will never revisit this place again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!'nnnnn

Liam Buchanan

So great, the tour was amazing, and the house looks so real and you learn some cool things! Great place to come on a Saturday noon.

Matthew Myers

A real gem hidden in Winston-Salem. The house itself is historically significant, but the art collection is the true gem.

Tammy Oakley

Very nice art and laid back experience.

Mary Beth Lock

Beautiful venue, terrific art, perfectly curated.

Lakesha McNeil

The staff is great and happily answered all of my questions. The art is beautiful! The house serving as the museum is a masterpiece. The history it obtains is breath taking within itself.

G Troutman

Awesomeness personified

Robert Moyer

Thanks to the Reynolds granddaughter who basically created this museum/landmark, the collection covers the history of American art. They have a Charles Burchfield that dwarfs most others. The permanent collection placed throughout the historic homestead has been incrementally increased, and the travelling exhibits in the well-blended addition are always notable as in the current HOPPER TO POLLOCK. Well-curated, small exhibits that satisfy without overwhelming. And the gardens in season are worth a separate visit.

Cynthia Reynolds

Amazingly beautiful gardens. The house tour was great. Couldn't believe all luxuries built into The house. If you go, plan to spend the day as there is a lot to see and they have shops and restaurants too in their little village.
