This is a small but interesting place. We were given individual attention! She grabbed some pond water from outside and we explored what it looked like under a microscope! We were all very satisfied when we left the museum.

This museum is great for kids to learn about evolution, geology, animals, the microscopic world, and many more! I went with my wife and the staff were really friendly. We even watched a movie there with their own in house cinema (a projector and a lot of chairs). I would bring my children here if I had any.

This is a very well developed museum that has interesting specimens and excellent hands on activity’s consisting of digging for shark teeth, learning about and using a digital microscope and playing with graduated cylinders. If you or your child is in to science this is the place to go.

It's much smaller than Raliegh's science museum. Very ideal for families with children under 5 years old . Staff is delightful and educational. It's a must go for young families and grandparents with their grandbabies looking to tire them out

Jezebel Faust

There is really nothing to this place. There is very little to view inside, they are nearly always empty. The staff are very unenthused, and shorthanded, you are lucky to see two people in the entire place. Absoloutely a waste of time coming here, to say that this place has changed for the worse is a complete understatement.

Melissa P

Wonderful place for a field trip!

It was education and fun. The associates were friendly and helpful. They informed us of up coming events that we might enjoy.

Jared Lewis

This is a very nice place but I’m not going to rate it Five Stars because it’s EXTREMELY SMALL! Very clean and the restrooms are very nice. There are plenty of children and youth programs here to suffice the community, so I’m not going to complain! Very nice staff as well as awesome customer service! I will definitely bring my children here for the creativity and instruction!

If you haven't entered this branch location, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!! The Curators here are very cordial and accommodating, setting the atmosphere for welcomed visitors, and regular patrons alike. The Calendar Venues, such as "Movies On Madison" are a big hit (they would probably run it year-round were it not for school in session...) This local branch of the State museum is indicative of the rich diversity North Carolina possesses - it even saved the Real estate that it's housed in!! Nature is calling you...and at such a time...

Michelle Williams

Nice place, kept the kids busy for a couple of hours.

Belinda Hegarty

What a fun place for kids and adults. One of my favorites is the investigative lab, where you can explore the scientific process by using the microscope and other techniques to process information. They also have a Nature Play Space, Discovery Forest and a Naturalist Center. There is do much to do and examine and explore here. It is a must do while in Whiteville. Explore, adventure and have fun Best of all admission is free!
