Rob Mosley

It's not like Gettysburg with all of the Monuments and statues so don't expect that. It is however very beautiful country and must be seen to be appreciated.... History awaits...

This might be one of the smallest "museums" I ever visited but it was packed with the flavor and gave you a deep sense of what war was about during that era. As you followed the road an read the signs marking the battlefield you are taken back by the close proximity of each of the divisions. Jerry the curator was extremely knowledgeable and you could see he enjoyed his position. It was worth the visit. I will post pictures when I return home.

This museum truly showcases Southern Hospitality. The staff there was incredibly friendly and helpful. The displays have dozens of actual battlefield artifacts. The gift shop has a little bit of everything from novelties to hand-made crafts to a wide collection of fantastic books and maps. An absolutely fitting tribute to our fallen American brethren. Great job on the museum.

The country around the battlefield is gorgeous and well worth the drive. The visitor's center was surprisingly stuffed with artifacts, especially for a small, privately run endeavor. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful; an incredibly well-preserved slice of North Carolina history.
