We offer you the feddbacks of real people who use the products and services of The Paley Center For Media (Museum) in the area close to New York.
At present this business has a rating of 4.5 over 5 and that rating is based on 330 reviews.
As you can see its rating is virtually the top, and it's founded on a very high number of opinions, so we may say that the valuation is very accurate. If many people have bothered to evaluate when they've done well, it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to put feddbacks when these are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Museum is classified in the category of Museum.
Great media library... had it in my mind to see Tiny Tim marry Miss Vicky on Carson ( mostly for the interview after) and got to see it here.
Loved the TMNT exhibit! And they legit have a library where you can watch any TV show from like the last 50 years. Plus a video game library that is super fun. Nice way to spend a few hours in Manhattan
The Paley Center is a very cool space that hosts events and offers many interesting exhibits. Great opportunity for school trips or to come with the family. More people should know about it!
The Paley Center for Media is the quintessential New York City must see! Especially if you're like me and enjoy their on-going interactive Video Game exhibit! Thanks for the great customer service as well!
I went here for a talk about the Opioid crisis by journalist and a DA from Staten island. It's a beautiful building, very quaint.. at least the auditorium that I was in, is.
Excellent spot
Very enjoyable experience being able to see programs and artists from the past
Went for a Disney Premier and the staff and place was so incredible. They treated the kids so well and the establishment was pristine. The theater was gorgeous and the facility to view media is comfortable and well maintained. Membership also gets you perks not open to the public.
This is a little gem hidden on 52nd Street between 5th and 6th. They have a huge video library upstairs of old TV shows and movies. They have a virtual reality area downstairs with nine different virtual reality Games. And they have other video games you can play. It's free to get in, but they do welcome donations. Donating is the right thing to do, so if you plan on going here give whatever you can. They also have paleyfest in November, where they had stars of major TV shows come Q&A with the audience, and other things. Definitely worth checking out if you have any interest in video and media.
Interesting displays and memorabilia
Great screening room, love the place
All the wonderful information about media! I just love it!
Paley fest was a great experience here. The panels are in a very cozy room where every seat is a good seat.
So much fun! I love their events and the vr and games exhibit was great.
Overpriced for access to video content.
Over sold tickets to event, unable to attend due to being at max capacity, despite having preferred seating ticket.
Perfect for @dailyflickny research!
Amazing Exhibit of the marvelous mrs masiel.
Free TMNT exhibition till July ! VR games as well
Very nice place!
Great panels! Very nice ushers!
Estee Lauder townhall
Wonderful time here with New York's Supporter Squad 5 Deadly Venoms watching the Overwatch League All-Stars game. There was a participant contest and a large screen tv live stream to keep all the fans engaged throughout the event. Great time! Huge thanks to NYXL and Paley for making this happen!
Great place. Love their Santa. No lines, no fuss.
Very fun and highly interactive it's an amazing place to educate your curiosity about tv, film, and media production
(Translated by Google) We came here without premonition. We thought it would be shown for example old TV series or similar. It was synonymous, but everything s.pc. There you sit then and can watch about 1 hour series, dokus, etc (Original) Wir sind ohne Vorahnung hier her gekommen. Wir dachten es werden z.B alte tv Serien oder ähnliches gezeigt. Das wurde es zwar auch, aber alles am pc. Dort sitzt man dann und kann sich ca 1 Stunde Serien, dokus, usw anschauen
Great space for Ted-talk type of events
This was the old moving image museum. I loved the program I saw so much I'm th June nking of becoming a member!
Great place.
Went for a panel of investigative journalists. Excellent
Horrible place to visit, nothing to see, you basically paid to watch something you will see for free on YouTube....go to MOMA much better...
superb conference venue
Wish I had more time. The seats for viewing are good. The archive is growing so I think it will be better.
Now playing the Marvelous Mrs Maisel Exhibit. It’s absolutely wonderful seeing parts of the show in real life: the clothing, the diner, the telethon, the Paris apartment and even just watch the show in the large theater located downstairs. The exhibit is completely free and you can reserve tickets online. Find more information on my website or Instagram account
Awesome and free. The kids loved it
Great place for art or topical panels
Very interesting
Beautiful space, great private theater, amazing collection of all things television.
Beyond awesome for anyone who is remotely interested in media. Should have the same reputation and prestige as MOMA, The Met, etc. but not quite as "mainstream" in the art world. Check out the exhibits or just stop by and browse the features in the lobby. A must for any TV fan (post NBC studio tour, of course!).
Such a great venue! My second time watching a panel. First time for Drunk History; tonight for Search Party.
Great discussion, had a great evening. Seats killed my knees though
Ended up donating the advised amount of 30 for a family of 4. Was not impressed with the "Shark Week" exhibit there was an Apollo documentary on one floor, random games on another and 1 movie about safe shark repellent.
A Great museum. They also have some outstanding temporary exhibits.
Great archives! Very friendly staff and the system was very easy to use
Was excited to see Blacklightning actors Cress Williams and Marvin K Jones III
(Translated by Google) Very friendly all the people who work there, great professionals! (Original) Muy amables todas las personas que trabajan allí, grandes profesionales!
Interesting and cultural
I stumbled upon this place on the Goldstar website. Check it out when you get the chance. Very friendly staff. Near Rockefeller center
Wonderful spot for exhibitions and live shows Always a good idea to check their schedule Enjoyed the Marvelous Mrs Maisel exhibit
Bueatiful place, good staff, not crowded and fun games.
Very comfortable seating . Great view from wherever you are sitting. Great atmosphere
Pretty cool place
Cool
Loved being around the fans with NYXL staff and Paley alike. Great atmosphere, and a real pleasure to watch the OWL All-Star game with the 5 Deadly Venoms. Look forward to more events like this.
Interesting, and then plucked from obscurity and given a full tour, access all areas.
(Translated by Google) Excellent experience (Original) Excelente experiencia
Amazing catalogue of old film and venue for important film festivals like PLURAL+.
It's a wonderful place to take kids.
Free video games are awesome! Go to the game experience and play vr games, xbox Nintendo etc.
Wonderful to have this facility available to the public.
Great place for information and entertainment
Super time at the "Making Maisel Marvelous Exhibit". We plan to go to more of their exhibits.
Such an interesting space. If you want a place to just chill its pretty neat.
It’s not a museum although they do have small exhibits. You can come here to watch TV shows from years back and browse their comprehensive media archive. When we visited, we saw the first few episodes of the 1977 miniseries ‘Roots’, about the African slave trade. We also looked at vintage cigarette advertisements from as far back as the 1920s. Admission is free but donations are welcome. The next time you remember a rare media event or piece and wonder where you can see it, you know where to go.
Beautiful
An excellent place to hold a conference.
Fantastic events, phenomenal guest panels and exciting premieres! (Manager Gwen rocks also!)
It fun
Overlooked place for TV lovers. Great events daily.
Love it and will be getting a membership
Went to a rather interesting talk here, unfortunately no free wifi!
It isn't a traditional museum. It's more of a library where you get to view their catalog of video collections. They have a lot of stuff including some really old TV commercials I enjoyed a lot. I also recommended the new video game section they're developing. There you can play some of the latest games (VR!!).
Nice cozy place. The architecture is amazing and the little shows they put on really get the auidence engaged
Interesting place, but I never need to go back.
We had a marvelous time at the Maisel exhibit here. It was small but a nice little sneak peek at one of our favorite shows!
You get to sit in and ask questions during a two hour interview with actors from your favorite TV shows live and in person. They run video clips too.
AWESOME!
Great place for meeting celebrities and catching up on interview. They staff is so friendly and nice. They answer inquiries before, during and after shows. Depending on the celebrity you're trying to see it may or may not get crowded. Would come back again for a convention. It's great for start up journalists to get interviews from some celebrities.
I went to a exhibit for Black History Month. The staff and exhibit was a great experience. I will be returning more often. Park in the garage near the Center. Many places to eat in the area. Rockefeller Center and Radio City Music Hall are steps away. Public transportation is the best way to go.
Nice place with great movies. But, I think that you can probably get mostly the same online.
Nice place
Beautiful place and activities !
Great Location for media stuff
This is where you geek out on film
I was disappointed with the viewing rooms. Some basic computers and headphones. Search feature wasn't really helpful. A coupkc of homeless people snoring at the tables. I suppose this place was a lot more impressive Pre-YouTube
The museum is great and in the entrance, there is 3 ca 6 ps4s and 3 boxes and 1 Nintendo switch a great place to stop by. Also, admission is free with a recommended donation of 10 dollars. They also have VR. The whole place is great staff is nice and the whole thing is an amazing place.
If you're a fan of television, this is the place to go.
Great place for kids
Classy !
Their media library is a lot of fun for exploring old TV shows. I came here with my mom and we pulled up some of her favorite shows from when she was a kid and watched them together. They have a huge selection to choose from dating far back and their staff is very helpful. They also recently added a video game library.
This place is awesome. You see old shoes commercials documentary comedy you name it. The 5th floor is a kid's dream. Video games and interactive ones too. I will visit again with more time to spare. You pay what you wish.
Known throughout history as the Museum Of Television And Radio, this place is more of an archive than a museum. But there are plenty of museums showing old TV and radio equipment....but its not easy to find all of your old favorite cancelled television shows, classic news footage, tv movies, and other long lost television footage. In addition to the main library where you can spend hours watching the videos you select, there are several screening rooms that host special events or rare screenings. My favorite collection which sometimes screens in the screening room is the best of tv commercials. Around the beginning of the year they usually show the best Superbowl commercials. Once in a while they even have special celebrity speakers in the main theater!
Excellent venue to find almost anything that has happened in Radio/TV history. Want to see the McCarthy hearings from the 1950s? It’s here. An obscure episode of a sitcom, documentary, variety show? It’s here.
A good place to go if you just have some time to kill and are bored. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Interesting place to learn about broadcast media.
Went for The Marvelous Mrs Maisel exhibit and then went up to the media library and watched a few shows from the early 1960's. So much fun!
It was amazing, wonderful atmosphere and very friendly and helpful staff! Kids had a great and enjoyable time
This place is such a treasure! I used to come here in high school and then again after college during a hot day to watch and rewatch old classics like Twin Peaks to I Dream of Jeannie and the hilarious dated commercials that would be taped during broadcast commercial breaks. It’s really a treat for adults but so fun for kids as well, I still hit this up when I am in the area and have some time to kill. Everyone from the staff to the team are all helpful and knowledgeable. Fun way to spend an entire day!
The Shark Week experience is a simple yet delightful experience for children. The VR station was a highlight but it would have been great if there were more interactive elements throughout the exhibit. Gave only 3 stars because of workers in the space drilling away in preparation for next week's event. The drill was extremely loud and the timing was horrible with all the young kids at the Shark Week exhibit. The failure by management to not manage that timing better was definitely a downer. We had to shorten our visit to avoid the noise. That aside, it was worth the time and effort.
Took my group they had a great time
Great place to watch old TV shows, commercials and memorabilia.
Interesting museum...went to a fall preview showing but there was no introduction, purpose for the viewing, pitch for membership. Seemed like a lost opportunity.
Trash bathrooms only one stall and one urinal. And i almost went to sleep. Most fun was drawing on the seat.
Beautiful seating arrangement, no seat is a bad seat, very intimate seating looks to hold a out 100 to 200 persons, all attended a talk with The Walking Dead cast members- beautiful theater and very polite customer service and security- become a member they provide great talks.
Awesome. Brought back great childhood memories & great for research.
Saw a screening of BET's new upcoming show call The Quad. The place has a very polished high end look.
(Translated by Google) It is a room with computers where you can access a large video archive. Before YouTube would have been quite interesting. So ... well. International students come for free. It's also in the new York Pass But since I recommend you use the time with other attractions. (Original) Es handelt sich hierbei um einen Raum mit Computern auf denen man auf ein großes Video Archiv zugreifen kann. vor YouTube wäre das ganz interessant gewesen. So... naja. Internationale Studenten kommen gratis rein. es ist auch im new York Pass Aber da empfehle Ich bessere Nutzung der Zeit mit anderen Attraktionen.
#paleyland was amazing!
Lllllooooolllll
Fabulous night with our 69 Mets
Great venue for screenings, panels, and talks!
Quite lovely.
i found this to be interesting, a must see
Very fun museum with lots of interactive displays.
Yeah cool.
Great family fun experience for the holiday. Unique and fun
Excellent place, it has free events which are phenomenal as well as paid events of your favorite tv shows
Fabulous exhibits. We enjoyed The Marvelous Mrs Maisel exhibit.
Look up all the TV, radio, and news media you could ever want. One could easily spend all day here everyday just sitting and watching and listening.
Go to the 5th floor!!
It wss the best place i got to see the game room which looks like a place for a tournament
Loved The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel exhibit!!
Excellent! Informative! Historic!
"The Marvelous Mrs Maisel" exhibition was delightful. Just like Midge herself.
A nice place to visit, lots of information to learn. The building is beautifully crafted, & the staff is courteous.
Was here for the Sikh Film Festival.. the Pallet Center is a beautiful space with good acoustics.
Free VR year round??? Sign me up
It's ok it's interesting, I guess.
Is a stylish repository for the history of broadcast teliviission, and is definitely worth checking out.
If you've ever watched, or listened to a movie, TV show or radio program - you can find it here! I listened to the Adventures of the Tooth Fairy in the Midwest as a child...and it was there.
Free. Watch some old documentaries and TV shows. Super friendly staff.
Visited in September for the Marvelous Mrs Maisel exhibit. Check their website for event information and definitely stop by on your next trip to NYC!
I have visited this space twice: once for a panel and once for an awards ceremony. The space is versatile and features a variety of rooms. Waitstaff and bars were a feature at the most recent event I attended in this space, and they were able to service the crowd with ease. I also had the please of sitting in the theatre downstairs. It was spacious and clean. My only complaint was the lack of visible seat numbers, which made finding our reserved seats challenging. Overall, I would recommend this space for events.
I liked television and the history of television
The Paleyland was spectacular! Our 8 year old enjoyed the video games room
I've been to The Paley Center for Media a few times over the years, but this year I finally joined. If you love television the center is an amazing place. Every panel I've attended left me with a huge smile on my face.
Once known as The Museum of TV and Radio, this repository of film is a Media Disneyland for adults and children alike. I am very glad this collection still exists in the age of YouTube and other Internet media platforms. Now retired, if I lived in Manhattan as I once have in a not-so-distant past, my time would be spent reviewing the classics. This may occur soon when I use my limited journalistic skill to write about my favorite TV and Film shows, beginning with "My Favorite Martian". Then the reviews need to be bound in volumes according to each genre. They will go into my private library. Maybe when I am in Heaven watching every episode of "The Lone Ranger, and boring God to tears raving about Tonto, someone may wish to publish them.
Great staff and very interesting exhibits. Good choice for field trips.
I visited the Paley Center specifically for the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel exhibit and I was not disappointed! The exhibit was free, and so very neat. There were multiple sets from the show which you could walk into, sit and take pictures, as well as Midge's actual outfits and other items from the show. It was like stepping right into the show! Truly wonderful.
Temporary exhibition of Tony Bennett's artwork on display along with clips of his singing career. One friendly staff was very persuasive in getting my interest in coming back for further visits of their media archives.
Cute
Paley Center held a special event for children with vintage children Christmas Television shows playing in the theatre, an arts and crafts area, hot chocolate, and pictures with Santa.
Very cute
I went there for an amazing documentary and panel screening sponsored by SAG-AFTRA and the Geena Davis Institute, This Changes Everything. This is a great venue with plenty of seating but intimate as well.
Originally the Museum of Television and Radio, this NYC landmark is a really great stop. Check thier schedule often for the opportunity to take part in intimate discussions about your favorite TV shows and movies with the actors who star in them.
Great place lots of events. Went here to see the world cup in one of there theaters also took kids to play video games and vr for free
Awesome venue
This place is awesome for kids. Just stop by, go up to the 5th floor and get your game on! VR headsets, XBOX1 and PS4 consoles are ready to go!
Lots of fun, I wish I could've say there for more than 1.5 hours.
Omg !! Me & My Daughter love it we have been to several holiday showing of classic & new shows and Christmas to see Santa
Went to the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel exhibit, which was amazing! The building is beautiful and is wheelchair/stroller accessible.
want to reminice to old tv shows this is the place. they have a library where you can watch your old favorite programs. nice little gift shop too.
5th floor is a gaming center where you can play Switch, Xbox one, and PS4 for free and with friends.
Very nice
Went for a class for highschool teens and the docent was excellent. The tv documentaries pieces viewed brought new light on the Civil Rights movement. Class participation is a must so the docent can guide the whole group towards the information needed to fill in the blanks of history and expand on the information never taught in school before! It is free and the personnel is very knowledgeable. Highly recommended.
Stunning presentation of mini documentaries...how Ed Sullivan supported civil rights; how we depend on Bees to prolong food chains; how hurtful the R word is..with examples from down syndrome people; and many others...
Nostalgic, calming, FUN
It’s literally just a game room and a lobby, mostly a waste of time
