Beautiful designs...I enjoy this Store always!
Great curated objects
Love everything in this store. Elegant and useful, combining good design with every day products. I want them all!!
The staff here went well out of their way to make sure I found what I was looking for. Answered every question, let me take my time with my product search, and checked on me multiple times to make sure I didn't have any questions. Really great experience and glad I came here.
I was astonished by the attitude of the cashier in MOMA Design Store today. I bought two art books for two different friends who live outside of the country. The cashier checked two books together and put them in one bag. I asked for an extra bag and explained the reason for her patiently but the cashier rejected me, she kept saying it is not a gift bag. I explained to her again the books are bought for TWO different person. The cashier still said “ No”. I never thought this thing will happen in MOMA, the world top art museum. Except that, The store itself is amazing.
Fun. Some cool gifts.
It's good as you probably know ... Not that unique but has the basics to cover your contemporary gift purchasing needs.
Great design. Wish the had prints.
A lot of interesting doodads. Worth checking out after a visit to MoMA.
Amazing museum store had to come back twice!! Spent a long time here
Great place to find unexpected gifts. I love the housewares they have, so many of them are cleverly design and make you ask "why didn't anyone ever think of this before?" The book selection here is diverse and extensive. They have a lot of fun and interactive kid's items. Some of the items are astronomically expensive, but there's a lot of affordable things mixed in there.
Really interesting things for sale! Spent a good hour exploring what they have, lots of things I haven't seen elsewhere. It's located outside MoMA but just a short walk. Worth checking out if you like funky things, including cooking utensils and pots, backpacks, etc.
Nice store. But lack of products that are created by artists. Some if the items you could order via Amazon. LOL.
cool & unique items here. all are simple and works of art. staff is friendly.
Very nice museum store... great jewelry ad design items!
contemporary design, high quality items in each class, innovative industrial design
Great selection of items, especially as gift ideas.
A store, that you will inspire you to spend money because all the you see is sooooo Beautiful!!
Expensive place, but the stuff is interesting
Great artistic designs
They had interesting goodies. I purchased a Japanese laundry pocket in the shape of orange-colored fish
Almost as much fun as the museum.
Really interesting home and gift items. It was very crowded when I was there but it was member's discount day. I got a cool jewelry holder.
love the collection!
Nice design stuff. Ok priced
So much cool stuff to play with
Best of class. Design store has some great rare collection.
Very nice for shopping! Also souvenirs!
Great store with original idea for art deco or little kinda serious games for kids. Great for anyone
They had a moon lamp for $60 that you can get for $7 at primeark still cool shop tho
Charged mine and my partner's cards twice. Took about $80 US and when we tried to get in contact with them no one ever got back to us. Never shop here again.
Unique and interesting selection of items. Home goods, jewelry, small gifts, and some famous art inspired items round up the type of stuff in this store. Be aware, the prices are a little high, but par for the area in terms of quality.
Awesome assortment of items great for gifts
I went on the advice of a friend, looking for a tasteful hostess present and found something perfect
If you don't have compromises on design and quality, this is the place for you.
Very interesting products and trendy streetwear. Found the kaws companion sitting in the store!
My friend visited this place and bought coster sets for me. The store definitely never checks the items for sale or the e-mails sent. One of the costers was damaged but they never replied back to me. I don't live in NY, so I have no choice but to keep this broken item. What a terrible customer service. I even contacted the maker company of the item, no answer as well. Skip this place if you are planning to buy a gift or souvenir.
Great if expensive stuff. Perfect place to buy gifts. Everything is beautifully designed. But no posters or books. For that, head to the museum.
Amazing! Definitely should be a stop on your checklist if you come to NY.
Great collection/selection. But prices tend towards the higher end.
Wide variety of products, good prices!
Excellent designers store. Awesome stuff for decorations
Fabulous original designer gifts
The gift/book Design Store in the Museum of Modern Art has wonderful, unique gifts. It especially has great gift, interactive toys for children. The toys foster creativity and imagination. The gift for homes are also unique and unusual. Save some of your time at the museum to wander through the MoMA Design and Book Store.
The design is awesome
I want everything in there.
It’s a gift shop. If you want art, it’s across the road. Lots of quirky gift items. You pay well over the odds but the advantage is you can buy all your presents in one stop.
Great and innovative products, a little overpriced in my opinion.
Neat product range, you can find something for anyone. I recognised some items but I saw there are MoMA exclusive pieces which are worth visiting for. Spent a long time browsing here.
One of my favorite stores to browse for gifts and nifty tools around the house. The selection rotates regularly with interesting, new products regularly. A little less selection than the SoHo location, but convenient if you work in midtown.
Great place to browse and even pick up a few practical or shelf-only objects. Separate from the MOMA gallery store. Worth the trip.
Great stop for gifts and accessories. But for some things like posters and magnets and bookmarks and t-shirts you need to head across the street into MoMA itself.
Lots of cool things
This store is amazing
I would buy everything here if I could! Full of quirky fun, well-designrd everyday items. I just wish things here weren't so expensive!
Loved this shop, many innovative and stylish products.
Lovely store full of interesting items, although some are expensive it's very cool!
Disappointed in the size of this location which is half of the one in Soho - no kids section, and obviously overpriced. Also someone very obviously smashed a glass in front of me while we were there and the security guard pretty much deliberately ignored it. Shows lack of concern. At the Soho branch, I wanted to buy a book but it was very scratched and worn and they had no more copies. I asked if they'd give me a discount, and they only offered $1 off. Pretty sad, it was cheaper on Amazon turns out.
Interesting museum, love to see Van Gogh painting, starry nite
Worth a visit, but it’s too expensive to buy legit anything. If only they would have some sales! But it’s full of inspiration and creativity!
A more than much see musuem.
Seriously nice. Merch is not that expensive and the variety is wide including backpacks and kitchen stuff to poshy jewelry. For a souvenir store it does have a bunch of good stuff.
Always worth a visit. Excellent quality. I bought a pair of Guzzoni bowls as a gift. They are perfect.
Always nice for got shopping
A really cool museum! Would go back!
Lots of cool things to explore, you'll want to take everything home. Easy to spend a lot of money here.
You'll find amazing things here!
Very nice and modern products for home or office..
A great deal of original beautiful stuff, great gifts and toys. But pricey.
Not impressed, but one might find something artsy or an idea
You can spend a lot of time there, this store has very good ideas to buy
Great museum store, worth a visit
The MOMA design store is 100% better than your typical museum gift shop. With a collaboration with the students of the MFA Products of Design program the products here are beautiful, fun and innovatively made. If you ever need to buy a gift for a offbeat relative or friend and are in NYC this is the shop to go. Also try to visit the downtown location as it's the larger sister store with more selection.
A wonderful gallery, worth spending a whole day!
Amazing. You Just need to visit this place.
Good place to spend time and keep yourself cool or warm. But don't spend money here, it is stupid. Whatever you want to buy, you get it on Ebay, Amazon or taobao.
Great service and excellent food, as always.
Good shop, but most of the merchandise was gadgets with a modern design
An ideal gift shopping location for your creative and cultured friends
They charge a premium for shipping, and then use the cheapest possible way of shipping the item, which has Fed Ex handing the item off to your local post office - which in my case meant nothing but delay. Shockingly poor for a place of quality and one that handles quality merchandise. It just shows poor execution and disregard for customer satisfaction. Perhaps they might investigate the success of a company called Amazon that learned that a poor shipping experience leads to disappointed customers who do not return.
Lots of great items for sale, if not a little overpriced.
The MoMA Store carries a lot of neat, interesting and well-designed decorative and household items. Most of the products have an interesting artistic element to them to appeal to any pop art enthusiast. Things can be a little pricey but well worth it for unique items.
Ia collection of overpriced brickabrac. Some nice ideas, others not so much
Awesome shop with so much cool stuff and awesome staff too.
Maybe even a little better than the usual museum shops
Gorgeous and interesting space. Lots of wonderful ideas and curiosities. Worth the walk around and look see.
I don't usually write negative reviews, but here we go. Don't order here if you need your item sooner than 3 months. I ordered two dishes at the beginning of December as a Christmas present for a family member (3-7 day shipping). They didn't come. When I called, they said my order was processed normally, but then they never showed. This put me in the awkward position of not having anything to give this family member on Christmas day. Finally, after Christmas I managed to get in touch with customer service and was told it is backordered to FEBRUARY (three months later), and they never informed me. After I complained, the only restitution I was offered was a refund of the shipping fee.
Cool and out of the box designs
My place-to-go for Christmas presents and stocking stuffers.
An amazing variety of products and the prices run from inexpensive to P R I C E Y but, all worth it. I always end up buying something when I visit.
Some items are really nice, but only a few of them have actual connection with the MoMA.
The store itself has some lovely things. But, this year it is, without doubt, the most disorganized store I have ever dealt with. As a member, I was offered a discount on my order. The Online Store would not accept it. The lovely person with whom I spoke on the phone to try again to place the order could not figure out to register the discount. She put me on with another nice person who promised to sort it out and has tried for days with no luck. Meanwhile, I received a full-priced order with an item I did not order included in it. AND I will have to,pay to return the item I did not order because no alternative has been offered. All of this has taken hours and hours and has been upsetting to me and to the nice people who work for the Design Store. They are frantically trying to sort out and new badly designed and faulty computer system. All of this has cost me time and money.
A very pricey but pretty gift shop.
Wonderful selection of unique items!
Am a regular at MoMA Design Store...perfect for unique gifts!
Cool little store with interesting artefacts
Lots of cool stuff, but much of it is more than I want to pay. Still, fun to explore.
Really cool stuff! I wish I could afford them all :)
if you do not want to buy tickets of MoMa museum but want to buy some items of MoMa, Come here.
A place without equal. Lots of artists' designed objects and original stuff. Also painting reproductions and a great book store. Excellent!
Cool gadgets. Pricey.
A great place to buy design and function or just a gift
Full of beautiful and unique items. The Christmas cards are great.
A whole lot of interesting and fun home+lifestyle items with artistic twists. A star taken back for certain easily available online items being resold at a 50%+ mark up
Great selection and variety selling for prices only some well to do New Yorkers and tourists are willing to shell out.
Nice design items
A must go when just to have a look and probably buy something if your looking for new home decorations.
Fun store with lots of interesting gadgets and gifts for people of all ages.
Always cool things. Great for tourists.
Amazing pieces - great selection for gifts and decor as well.
Well worth a visit. One of the great museums of NYC. The Museum Store has great unique one-of-a-kind items. Great for gift giving.
It says open from 9:30, but security won't let you in until the museum opens at 10. And there will always be a line for the museum.
A shame that the Museum is going through renovation
Whenever we go to MOMA, we go to the design store. The place is full of interesting products. The prices are somewhat reasonable for the quality and design.
Amazing place
Excellent selection and variety of design products.
The MoMA Design Store is a delight. Great for gifts or to find something unique for yourself. I particularly like their holiday card sets, and always pick mine up there. The store has quite a selection of funky and fresh items that strike a contemporary style.
Always that place where anyone can find something - be it unique, beautiful, that something you couldn't find anywhere else. Some stuff really hits the spot of 'I never knew I needed that but I must have it now' and sometimes it's just a nice place to visit and browse.
Awesome place go and finds art, design and technology in one place. Thoroughly enjoyed your place.
Super fun and unique place to check out.
Nice store, there is always something to buy when we visit here.
Loved this place. Lots of quirky and unique items. Unfortunately, most items that I liked were a little too expensive for gift giving. However, having said that, I did find many items that were affordable to give as stocking stuffers.
You can find many souvenirs ad hoc. The bad one: it gets crowded some times.
Nice selection but I was expecting a bit more
Good store but the branch in Soho offers more products.
If you're a unique gift-giver, the MoMA Design store is a must-shop. Not only do they have unusual staples, but each exhibition that comes through leaves its mark on their store offerings. Last year for Mother's Day I found Cindy Sherman postcards that I sent to my sister and mother. Biggest hit of the gifting year.
If you plan to shop at the MOMA design store, BEWARE. The products are great, but the online service is truly awful. This is my sad experience : I ordered Xmas gifts for the family on Nov 17th 2017, and selected “priority shipping”. Despite my repeated online requests, I received no updates on shipping status for 20days (tracking function was not working either). Finally, they deigned to inform me that my delivery would not arrive till MARCH 2018 (!) because 2 items were not available till then and the shipment had to be sent in one go! Huh? Whatever happened to flexibility and common sense in the modern age? So my kids would receive Xmas gifts 3 months late! The shipper claimed the website warned about the 2 back order items (if they had, I did not notice). And anyway, why sell back order stuff? Why not place a warning at the cash-out site, “your delivery may only arrive in 4 MONTHS TIME”? Why accept money when you are out of stock? Why provide a “priority” shipping function, when you are not able to deliver it? So I asked whether they could send the available items first and I pay the extra, they have ignored me. So if you plan to use this website, BEWARE.. else you may also - as I did - suffer disappointment, poor communication, and worst of all, unacceptable delay.
Great place to find interesting gifts... of course price is a bit high but not too much. The variety of items is refreshing. Many things to look at, high quality!
Variety of interesting designs! Prices are quite high. As a student traveling with my own savings, I wished they have more small gifts with affordable price. I found some of those, but they were very limited.
Interesting items with good design
It's a pity if you visit MoMA but don't visit the store or find something for yourself
It is must after paying a visit to the MOMA Museum. You can recreate yourself with many trendy designed objects and devices. Even if you are not in the mood for buying it is worth the walk around.
Great variety of well designed items, not all are affordable but it's nice to look at them.
Cool place to shop around for decoration accessories and other fun stuff
One of my favorite museums in NYC. No place like MOMA if you're a fan of pop art.
The store has so many unique and interesting products. You can easily spend an hour inside. Pricey though so keep that in mind.
1st time visiting fr Texas. Beautiful store.
Always a great experience buying unique products.
