This Museum corresponds to the category of Art museum.
Never been there until today and I loved how they had plenty of activities for families to do with there children. It is perfect for a simple class trip as well. I also enjoy the art of where I lived all my life the Bronx. Its was an interesting fun filled experience.
Thanks again for your time and effort
It's what you expect museums to be, there was just a dry element to it all. I wish there were more art installations. Unfortunately, if you're accustomed to some of the Museums in the city, you'll feel the emptiness of this place. The art they did have was more than adequate, staff are involved and friendly. I feel this place needs just a bit more attention. White walls deserve bursts of colorful and cultural art and they have some, but they need more. Will return to note any evolution.
Yeah it's free and an wonderful experience especially with kids but you won't really see much unless you pay to get in......bummer....
This museum is one of the most underrated museums in the entire city. It's proximity to Yankee stadium makes it accessible, and it's art displays and exhibitions are always well curated. I am a fan. It's also one of these museums where you will find works local and international artists. It's a fun and small space that contribute so much to the wonders of my home borough the Bronx. Also check out their monthly family friendly events. So much fun.
Awesome venue with some great exhibits.
Very nice museum. Got to meet the photographer at a recent exhibit. Was nice to be able to hear the story behind the photographs from Iran.
Great facility with nice exhibits
Lovely place my cousin got married there on 8/18/18
Always enjoying to enter this miseum space. The BMA holds many other events too. Many times they feature an artist and offer much insight to background. I believe tours are available too.
Great exhibition on Graffiti going on, right now
Great space for a great event and such an amazing experience as well thank you for having this
My friends I like this place because of its very clean cleanliness is Godliness support
I live a couple minutes away from this Museum. I glad they opened this muesum. I enjoy coming here on my spare time.
Great meet and greet. Nice area, awesome art
Hidden jewel in the Bronx!!!

455 east 148 st 427 pnp and pampers
Wonderful programs and fascinating exhibits. Truly supports the local community and is a must experience. Super budget-friendly since they have free admission to almost all events and programs. It is a tremendous resource and asset.
We always have a good time when we go there whether it's for family fun day or a special opening we love going there and you really need to check out
I love nature it was so beautiful the lay out seeinh tropical trees in the I believe the green house was amazing. The people really knew what they were talking about
Unique exhibits. Great staff.
It's the Bronx
Went to THE MOTH Story Slam at the Bronx Museum. It was not my first time at a Moth slam, but was the first time I was asked to judge the performances...was a great time. The Bronx Museum had a wide open performance space, good lighting, good aucustics even with hundreds in the audience...a great space for a Moth Slam. Also, I felt compelled to imbibe in the Bronx Brew. #BronxMuseum #theMoth
We saw all the exhibits in 10 minutes! The 80s train tribute was awesome! The nude exhibit I give 3
Nice
Hidden Gem, in plain sight !!!
It was nice, just wish it had more exhibits open. They will soon so I will be returning ❤❤
Very under-rated. Some excellent curatorial efforts. Definitely visit for the AIM biennial and other shows are very often interesting. Not many visitors making it seem like a private gallery.
Such a great free asset in our Bronx community.
Enjoyed very much the Peter Campus video art exhibition.
Needs more art work. I was expecting to see art work showing how the bronx has transformed over the years. I was disappointed. The Museum itself is a beautiful space.
A sumptuous space and one of the best contemporary art museums in the world. The spacious rooms make it a very dynamic site that can accommodate not only wide possibilities for display of artworks but also for various programming ranging from lectures to multidisciplinary workshops. This museum is always free and aims at creating an interactive experience with the urban community of The Bronx. I am proud to have been a featured writer at the Bronx Stories, which is part of the 2016 remarkable exhibit Art AIDS America.
Great Art Show Henry Chalfant , 1977-1987 Subway trains as they once were
I was a bit disappointed. Very small exhibition, only one artist showing some photos about about 1970s Upper west side and Bronx. I didn't see anything from Latino or Asian artists. Facility is clean and staff very friendly.
Did Boogie on the Boulevard this weekend. Like a Summer Streets for the Bronx. Last one of this year will be Sept. 10, 2017. There community here is strong and there is lots of culture to go around. It's definately a Happy place.
It a cool place to throw day partys.
The place is unbelievable I have a great time there I recommend stopping by
Very nice space and currently a plethora of abstract art exhibits open for tons of interpretation. Never too crowded, always clean and calming. Nice to come hear a lone for a little piece of mind or with a friend or a loved one. Truly one of the most underrated gems the west Bronx has to offer.
The museum is beautiful nice ora of people there. First visit was pleased, with all the art.
Interesting place. They had only two exhibitions, much smaller than I expected, but then again, it's free admission so I can't complain.
This museum is free for the community and has a great calendar of events. The museum hosts many private and public meetings in it's space in addition to educational and artistic programs directly sponsored by the museum. Check out the youth programs for school and families.
My son had an amazing experience.
Excellent, thought-provoking art in the current exhibit of Cuban artists. The space is not very big but well laid out. Free admission, well worth a visit!
I wish the exhibitions had greater diversity representing all of the arts
My workplace for 23 years.
The museum is the best place to bring my kids and friends to spend time learning about different cultures, the ancestors, art, sculptures, pictures, videos , documentaries and enjoying reading with them. I always like to discover things about other countries and love to learn about their food and also try new recipes with my kids , so they learn how other people survive and utilize things that we have differently. Just love to nuture my intellect, relief stress and have fun. So this one way to do so. My kids love it too, so I recommend it all of you as well, come visit and enjoy.
A dynamic place; curators are committed to diversity in class, ethnicity. Diana Hadid's exhibition was stunning. Manuel Mendive's work interesting and evocstive.
It's donation only and the exhibitions were top notch!
I was actually in Bronx housing
The Bronx Museum a little bit of heaven where a community that has seen its trials and tribulations showcase it's people. The flavor of people's lives are home here. Those of African descent, Asian, and Latino grace and dominate the landscape. Yes it is a the beauty of life that makes BxMA so outstandingly beautiful. Enjoy!
Nice for a baby shower and wedding
Amazing the collection was really great. Beautiful space .Really easy to get to. I've thought of going there for the longest time . Just kept saying maybe next week. I'll be waiting for them to change the collection so I can go back again. Oh yeah and it's free.
Very Professional atmosphere
Great to bring family or a friend Amazing
They don't allow strollers so we had to carry our babies which made it harder to enjoy, which is too bad since it's a nice neighborhood museum otherwise. It's big and accessible so I don't really understand why they don't allow strollers.
Wonderfully curated and lovely gallery spaces. It’s a small but increasingly important museum within the NYC arts community, and well worth a visit with each new show.
Ever changing atmosphere of art. And they host many events successfully. Good choice
must see exhibit on train graffiti. its a time capsule of ultra nyc culture. you would be a fool to miss it
If you have a child bring to the Bronx Museum of Art they have some of the wonderful things to see come see
Not very much on display otherwise it's a museum
They have a few great exhibits here and the staff are pretty knowledgeable about the works. had a fantastic time and hope to be soon when they install some new exhibits
Its a welcoming space that shares art and excellence with the Bronx community and beyond.
You can see real Art
Saw 2 great exhibits...Rochelle Feinstein and Eddie Martinez!
This was my first visit with my son. A bit small but unique. We enjoyed all the different versions of art the museum had on display. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Interesting place with some amazing art work. The place is vast... you can get lost in there for a while.. highly recommended!! Enjoy!!
Great visual exhibit, a must see
I was only there for a storytelling event, so my review is limited. It was a decent venue for the audience of maybe 200 people with extra room. However the bathrooms weren't designed to handle that kind of volume. Seems like it used to be a school before being converted into what it is today.
It's not the med but it's good for what it is and it is loaded with young art of the future.
Not much too see. Not for little kids
Very pleasant and informative
Loved the Graff exhibit. One of the best I've been to.
This is one museum that is a must see. Always have cool event and never have the same displays. I love this museum because it's modern and weird and retro all rolled into one
Great space of art and cultural community events including MOTH series!
Isn't a great location to bring 5-6 yr olds on a school trip , our tour guy Mr. Ivan bored our kids with his life stories instead of doing arts and crafts ....
Very nice experience!
this musuem needs more attention , there is not much to see there...
Beautiful place for events and party I really enjoyed my-self
Great events near home too. Love Art.
Beautiful work
Nice local museum with live music nights.
Nice
What a shock to find this incredible place on our first trip to Brooklyn! The Rodin sculptures alone are worth the trip but the museum was teeming with sounds and sights and groups of children learning and listening to art. Loved the women’s triangle exhibit: a table set to honor women in history that really made me think. Great place for families or just solo!
Thought there was more to see, but it was nice
It's okay if you ask me for my first time actually going there today for my son's graduation.
Free great place to bring your children
Love this place, safe area
Awesome venue and exhibit.
Love doing community service here and they ALWAYS change the art here. Its never the same. Find out about the family affairs at this place and the free events. Its the best!
Usually go to the Taino Awards in this location
Nice Place
I visited to attend the opening of the Henry Chalfant exhibition of Hip Hop culture circa NYC starting in the 1970's.
Very nice modern art museum
So many beautiful paintings different sculptures. Pictures nice environment not crowded. Also, the now Joker steps not that far away a few blocks walk.
Loved
Wonderful place to visit. My kids loved it.
Could be better
The Bronx museum is a great place to go with your family.is very joyful.
I love this museum. It's always free to all. Beautifully laid out gallery space. Excellent curatio
I went here for my school trip and i had fun. I was able to do activities for different places of the museum. I had a blast :D
Amazing experience. Bravo.
Great selection of local modern artist and can’t beat the price : FREE
Beautiful and spacious event venue
Very nice place with very nice people working there. I went here a few months ago and they gave me cold water on a hot day and let me charge my phone.
Excellent the front desk was very helpful and gracious, & the museum was awesome and very clean and relax environment very educational
Unusual art.
The BX stand up
Good place. It's not really for kids but I appreciate art work epically in my own back yard.
I enjoyed my visit to this museum. It is free of charge, family friendly and presents variety of modern art including emerging artists. The cafee shop offers also delicious food.
It's my second visit here and I've never been disappointed. The current show on Gordon Matta Clark is a incredible record of NYC in the seventies.
It was great I have to go back
Interesting exhibition but experience was not perfect enough.
My sister and I went to an event. Parking is not great. Public transit is better. Lots of fun at the museum
Was there with family, great to see the local culture and arts exhibitions. My son got sick while there and the staff was kind to us as a family. I would recommend it for families.
First time to meeting with grandparents around the world. Good meeting.
Fun experience
Great museum on the smaller side. Small permanent collection but the museum always hosts interesting exhibitions. And it's for free!
This place was wonderful!
A Bronx gem, often overlooked...
Good place to go to know about the history of the Bronx
Great place for Family to build strong relationships together. Staffs are so helpful.
The family activity events are a great way to get children to explore the museum. If you can, visit their website and pre-register for upcoming events and skip the line when you arrive. We look forward to seeing other exhibits and attending future events.
Been here twice. Wasnt dissapointed. The space is clean. Intimate. Easy to get too.
Very nice intimate and Personal
Amazing!!
It is a great place for those who really love fine arts. Quiet. Cozy. Inviting to go over and over again.
Visitef this venue for my daughter's graduation, the end space is very nice.
Fun Fantastic I'm going to try to show my art work
Great museum that captures the Bronx
Beautiful place and great for meeting. Please was attending a DOE meeting at this facility .
Lovely place to remember the old Bronx.
Cute small museum. Please sponsor it
It was nice just very small. Not a lot of exhibits but a few nice ones
Not so many arts staff don't really talk to you
Had a great day with my family and friends. My grandson & nephew were involved in various activities & I kept busy listening to cultural music & art . The staff also makes you feel at home. I highly recommend it for families ❤
It's a beautiful space!- It just needs more art exhibitions happening in there!
Had an absolutely fantastic time here and the unassuming small sized lobby had a ton of hidden treasures as the many interconnecting rooms are hidden from view until you explore the small space. Not a massive museum but it's easy to spend an hour or two here if you're interested in modern art. Had a great time on a rainy day and it's extremely easy to reach by public transportation. Just be careful of some of the art pieces as one of them gave me a good scare since it dropped something overhead while I was underneath and was on a timer. Just pay attention to the large artworks as a lot of them have cool movement or mechanics that make them so unique. World class facility and unbeatable at the price of admission which is free!
Is closed.
Pretty lackluster.
The Bronx Museum is one of the major hubs of cultural events in the Bronx. In addition to wonderful art exhibits, the museum hosts a multitude of events including dance, music, and even cooking. There's also lots of kids' programming on the weekends. The gift shop, albeit small, features lots of items from local Bronxites. The XM Cafe in the museum works with this organization that helps people with disabilities attain job skills, which is absolutely amazing. Plus, you can't beat free admission.
It was worth it since it was free admission. There were two exhibits (4 rooms total) when I went. The subway car art work exhibit was okay (some were drawings and many were tag names). It was interesting to see how a photographer took pictures of the subway works and how he was able to connect the people who created the work. The other exhibit showed a photographer's picture of derelict warehouses, homeless people, and people in sexual acts which was interesting as it showed the buildings and actions of people during the time period. Staff member at information desk was cordial, and bathrooms were clean. There was a gift shop for the subway car art work exhibit.
Unprofessional workers. Cool exhibits but their staff need a little service/speaking training.
It's a must see for those the love the 1970 and 1980's writers, Henry Chalfant's show is a must see dont miss it.
Great and noice!
Super small and super trash not even worth it for free, total waste of time.I was born and raised in the Bronx and there's way more history like the greatest team in sports history the New York Yankees birth place of Hip Hop, Botanical Gardens the Bronx Zoo ect none of which is displayed in this crappy museum..Almost made me
The exhibits were fantastic
Come and SEE THE BRONX NOT THE 5:00PM NEWS .YOU WE UNDERSTAND NOT TO BELIEVE THAT THE BRONX IS ONLY MEAN PEOPLE ,NO !!@ HERE WHERE MANY ARTISTS ARE MAKE NOT BORN, KEEP YOUR SELF DEFENSE HOME.GUNS TOO!!!!!!! THINK ♥️✌
Went for the Henry Chalfant art show opening night. The stuff people talk about nowadays as legend. Full sized 80s subway cars with printed pieces, a true history lesson. Saw about 100 of my graffiti mentors and friends from the 80s/90s. Anybody who knows what's up was there, and the ppl that follow & attend mainstream "street art" events were not. I won't ruin it with tons of photos but go see it while you have a chance
Nice and spacious.. They always have tons of activities for the community.. You can event rent out venue for an event
Rude, small handful of boring/lame exhibits, skip this place & just go to 1 of the real museums in manhattan
The only good think was that it was free
Great show NYC Art
The museum showcases art from minorities; also hosts a variety of plays & shows highlighting artistic expression and talents from lesser known but very talented artists & playwrights. A Must visit!
It is the smallest museum I have ever visited. Currently only one exhibition there filling one single room. The other room is empty. The museum only has three floors and the third floor is for office. Even if it is full, no much to see. The only good thing is that it is free.
Fantastic
It is a nice museum..the staff was kind and and helpful.. there is a nice little area to sit and have coffee or conversation and I saw some great pieces.
Not so big. Had more of Cuban history. The good side is that it is free. You just give a donation if you want to.
