By far the best part of visiting the American Museum of Natural History. Be prepared for queuing though.

Excellent sky; well organized shows if a bit biased towards sensationalism. Oh, for the good old days of the knowledgeable live lecturer, but canned shows can do when they are this well done. Basement area does an especially good job on space travel though the "weight on other worlds" gimmick has outlived its day.

Kids (6 years) really got into big bang timeline. They were also intrigued with the concept that their weight could be different on different celestial bodies. They also found meteor very interesting.

(Translated by Google) It is not comparable with the science museum in Japan, the sense of scale and the fulfillment of the display of the space industry main site. Take a tourist route in New York. Overwhelmingly recommended ◎ 120% (Original) 日本の科学博物館とは比較にならない、宇宙産業本場のスケール感と展示の充実度。ニューヨークの観光ルートにぜひ。圧倒的にオススメ◎120%

You should really take the time to read and soak in all the information provided here. It is super fascinating to put things into perspective and try to understand the incomprehensible just a little more with the help of diagrams and models and everything. Super cool I loved it.

one the most amazing experince i had in my life .... i felt like a 5 years old kid !

I'm not a museum person but anything to do with space has always intrigued me. The space shows I saw here today were spectacular. The Big Bang Theater was a circular theater with an inverted dome in the center that everyone stood around. The show was only a couple of minutes long, but it made me feel like I was flying through the cosmos. The Hayden Planetarium had a space show on Dark Matter. This blows away any other planetarium I have ever been to before. It was like watching an IMAX space movie on the curved roof. The seats even vibrated during the show. Well worth the price of admission just for this wing of the museum. Tip: Buy your tickets online before you go to save on waiting in line at the museum. I walked right up to the Will Call window on the lower level and went right into the museum.

Formerly known as the Hayden Planetarium. The planetarium is now part of a larger collective which includes the Scales of the Universe Walkway, and the Hall of Planet Earth.

The Rose Center is a huge expansion of what was only the Hayden Planetarium of my childhood. Even back then it was well worth the time to visit this amazing place, to be able to travel back through space and time in their Science Show, but now with its magnificent expansion it has become a truly full-day Affair for both adults and children and should be heavily considered in any trip to New York City

The Rose Center for Earth & Space is at the American Museum of Natural Museum. This is where the planetarium is. I highly suggest coming here on your visit and buying the ticket to watch the show. It’s amazing and like being in space. It’s narrated by Jodie Foster and other celebrities like Tom Hanks and Whoopie Goldberg. A must see for space enthusiasts, kids, and all those curious about science.
