Give yourself plenty of time to see everything. Very well done special exhibit.

After reading The Tattooist of Auschwitz by Heather Morris, I wanted to get more information about this terrible time in history. The exhibit was very informative, educational and emotional. The reason why this didn't get 5 stars was because of the service provided by the staff. I purchased a ticket for a 7 pm time-slot. The exhibit closes at 9 pm. During my time going through the exhibit, you don't realize the time. I was interrupted by a security guard letting me know that the museum was closing and I had to make my way to the exit to leave. I was at exhibit 40 thinking that it was almost done, especially after being told it is time to leave. While walking to the exit, i looked up and realize there was soooooo much more of the exhibit to view. I went to customer service where I explained to them the situation of not being able to view what I had payed for and was thoroughly enjoying. The manager's response was "I can give you a discounted ticket for the next time you come." This was not what I was expecting ESPECIALLY when a 7 pm time- slot is available online for viewing yet you are being kicked out a quarter to 9 pm. A free ticket should have been the response. When I mentioned this, the manager's response was "If I give you a free ticket, I'd have to do it for everyone else." WELL... yes rightfully so! On the website it mentions no refund...OK, understandable...however; I payed to see the full exhibit...not half of it before being forced to leave because they were closing. So if you are planning on going to see the exhibit, please make sure you go before 7 pm!

Electrician For Hire

I thought I knew a lot about the history if the Jewish people and Hitler, but to see original artifacts, and real video changes everything and beings things into perspective. Seeing the scale of things and the amount I'd people that were killed is just crazy. You have to pick up the headset and listen to everything to get the full experience.

Ronald Coombs

It was very informative. I'm a very somber place

Noodle

Liked it but the lady was a bit rude to me

Kevin Piacente

The aushwitz exhibit is amazing. What a wonderful job of putting it together. It took me 4 hours to see everything

michael wright

Very informative. Very helpful for knowing what happened.

Julie Stetten

An amazingly curated experience. Of course, emotionally exhausting but we shall never forget. Every human should be educated on the holocaust, so this never happens again in our human collective history.

Tom S

I joined a middle school field trip for a tour. Our guide was friendly and brought intimate knowledge of what her ancestors experienced in surviving the Nazis. They were able to get baptism papers from a sympathetic priest enabling the family to escape safely. It was crowded there, lots of useful informational displays, but ironically I felt like were herded through the museum which without windows on the lower floor almost felt intentional in design. Upstairs more windows and a nice garden of trees growing resiliently through boulders.

Denise

Very powerful. Focuse is on Auschwitz.

Kevin Pitter

Amazing place. There is a stone garden outside the museum and the walls are made of granite. There are 18 large-scale boulders of various shapes lying on the ground, reflecting the strong power and extraordinary adaptability of the Jewish nation. A small cave was cut into each of the rocks as a planting trough, and then a dwarfed chestnut sapling was planted in the rock, so each tree was “long” with a small sapling. This unique The landscape has become the biggest feature of the stone garden.

Laurie Drumm

Went to see the Auschwitz exhibit. Heartbreaking. Something that everyone needs to see - regardless of religious beliefs. Lessons can still be learned from it, even after all these years.

Monica Brady

Make sure you visit Lox and the Garden of Stones. Fabulous views.

Andrew Kaplan

Very impressive traveling exhibit

Richard Tomko

Overwhelming and awe inspiring. Just an amazing tribute to the victims of the most horrific event/time in history. The history contained within the exhibits is just remarkable and clearly defines the heroism of the victims and supporters of the resistance that must be preserved and taught to generations to come. The Garden of Stones provides a perfect metaphor for the struggle and perseverance of a people who continue to show that strength grows from triumphs over oppression and those societal divisions that spew hatred to others.

Bruce Snow

We spent three hours going through the Auschwitz exhibition and found it incredibly moving. The pieces they have on display really personalize mankind’s greatest atrocity.

Moshe Shualy

We watched Fiddler on the Roof in Yiddish a week ago. How fitting! How deeply profoundly moving! To experience in Yiddish the very language the play was written and be electrified by the vividness of the language of my parents, Holocaust survivors, the language of the townspeople is to transcend generations continents and death itself. This is but a beginning! Long live life! Long live Yiddish!! LeChayim!

Howie S.

First class "Auschwitz" exhibition. Bone-chilling echoes of Trump's America!

nivia de los santos

On your website it stated pictures could be taken as long as no flash but then at museum was told no pics

Eddy Souza

Jewish Museum in NY is one of the best Museum I have visited ever. Great place to learn and understand the Jewish people, history and diáspora.

yee ee

Auschwitz exhibit is extremely informative and organized and very well done, & it was also free for me because im a student in nyc. It's massive and will take a while to get through. Only downside is the cafe is way too expensive so I walked to Subway instead.

Jose Leandro Guzman

Excellent place and beautiful Musicals there.

Chef Cody Events

Nicely done. Had tickets..but they didn't care..just said...go right in in!!! Very lively. Mostly able to be left alone..which makes a great museum memorial. Some very nice Works. End was a bit odd...but garden deck gave a beautiful break to handle all the swooping memories provolked by displays. Getting out was a but tough...could not find second half of stairs ..caterers didn't have a clue either..This is a must see! After spending at least 10 min in Battery Park..great shot of Statue of Liberty...

Tracy Edwards

The Auschwitz Exhibition is well thought out, intersting and heartbreaking. Good to see so many youg people there. Never forget.

Karolyn Benger

The Auschwitz exhibit is incredibly well done.

Shawn Henry

I have been to this museum several times and it gets better and better!! There was a special display on Auschwitz and this was powerful and very moving. It brought me to tears. Get the audio guide for a fuller experience. All worth the time and entrance fee. I give this a 10 out of 10.

Heidi Christopher

I have been to Auschwitz, Dachau and the Anne Frank house last year. This museum had things that I had not previously seen before as well as stories that I hadn't heard before. The ending to the tour was so emotional and perfect. 10/10 recommend it.

Sam Farber

Great location in Manhattan's battery. Beautiful museum wit great exhibits and guided or self guided tours.

Ashley Mailley

Went to the Auschwitz exhibition and it was amazing. Extremely well done. Would 100% recommend to get the audio tour. A lot of the videos have no sound so it's best to have those to get the full experience

Daniel Moholia

Powerful storytelling through the use of audio tours and artifacts to share the story and struggle of the Jewish community in Europe.

Graham Short

Between exhibitions but the building is outstanding, amazing architecture and views with modern exhibition halls

Melissa Walcott

Very moving and comprehensive Auschwitz exhibit. "If you don't know your history, you are doomed to repeat it."

Kim Gaebel

The Auschwitz exhibit was astonishing. Well done

Su Chin Chua

Really interesting exhibits. Really engaging and very educational. Voice guides were really easy to use. Most of the staff was really nice and helpful but it is really long and there aren't many places to rest. Overall, a very interesting experience.

Jamie Kreiman

Special Aushwitz exhibit is historically haunting and well described

Anne McInnis

Be warned if you are planning to see the Auschwitz exhibit. After waiting in line for over 30 minutes to get to the metal detector, once we got to the ticket counter we were told the tickets were timed and our time would be 2 hours later. A simple sign in the lobby, or a message on the phone, would have been helpful. And unless you are actually buying tickets online (which is the way to go), you are not aware there are timed tickets for admission. We did go to the Ordinary Treasures exhibit and it alone is very moving and the Garden of Stones by Andrew Goldsworthy is beautiful. Sadly, timed tickets to popular exhibits are becoming commonplace, so one must safely assume that admission is not guaranteed upon arrival.

Jessie Cheve

Nice area and very nice museum

Marc Lincer

Very good exhibit for anyone that needs an exhaustive intro to the Holocaust, but can be redundant for others. There is A LOT to read and many different aspects covered through different media; overall it is well done but long and with not much seating. I take issue with the museum's name implying that the Holocaust is the greatest- or even the only - part of Jewish heritage.

spectrumom1

The museum is nice but the food in the cafe was great!

Christopher Walker

A humbling experience, so much loss of life.

MCS C flash

Great place to learn about Jewish history. Has a lot of cool things and definitely worth the time and money

Jennifer Melendez

Awesoe for anyone that enjoys a good tragic story

SW NYC

Auschwitz exhibit; one of the most important exhibits of our times.

Maria Math Tutor

A nice day on Wednesday (free entrance) in the museum. I love the view and the terrace.

Miriam Bakery

It really has a lot of facts And it's very Descriptive

Bonnie Young

Very well done. Thoughful and informative.

Robert Ivanovic

Took the kids. Eye opening history everyone should be aware of. You realize how cruel humanity can be.

audrey apelbaum

Basically denied entry. Came with a 2 month old infant and told I need to check the stroller, no exceptions. What shall I do with the diaper bag? His blanket? Oh wait, what about the infant? It's not like I can tell him to walk for a while. No exceptions to this policy, those with children not welcome here.

Andrew Cross

Sad how people treat each other. Shma Yisrael Adonai Eloheinu, Adonai echad!

jon manning

Purchased tickets online. Got there on time and had to wait in three different lines for an hour. Tried to get the audio, but they were out so waited in another line, but they only take cash for the audio so could not even get that. Tried to enter, but could not because we had an umbrella, so had to wait in yet another line to check it. terrible management. Terrible customer service

Gail Tillman

Very informative. So much to see and hear. Make sure you have 3or4 hrs..Worth it.

Robert Berry

Really good exhibits. But very sad. The Holocaust exhibit is very video heavy. The footage is well worth watching. Horrifying but things we need to remember. Definitely worth visiting.

Julie Schumacher

A must see. Somber, but find it necessary to have a museum of this sort so we never forget.

Terry McCann

Well laid out, the three floors flow well even with many museum goers.

Susan Savitz

My husband and I took a tour with Pearl Fisk. She is a fabulous educator and gives a most interesting tour. She has great knowledge of Jewish history and highlights her talk with stories , including personal ones. Wonderful way to spend XMAS day. Thank you Pearl. Susan Savitz

Riley Hill

Really good museum. The exhibits are very moving, especially the holocaust exhibit. The virtual reality portion is really cool and I like how they incorporated it into a history museum.

Erica Kramer

Moving stories, presented well.

Kaenan Hertz

Amazing museum with a fantastic restaurant. The Auschwitz exhibit is powerful and extremely well put together

Jeremy Odden

An incredibly emotional experience, and absolutely worth it. Don't bother with a flexible ticket, unless maybe you are planning to go during a holiday/heavy time.

Debora Levi

Is a must! A meaningful museum, the most beautiful garden . Exhibitions are very powerful I was impressed how many young people were visiting.

Grayce Love

Fantastic Auschwitz Memorial exhibit. Really explains the insidious rise of antisemitism in Europe.

Cihangir Akinci

It was memorable experience. Highly recommend Auschwitz exhibition with audi tour.

Marianne hoffman

One of the most detail oriented and extraordinary museum I have ever been to next to Ausschwitz. Could have spent all day enhaling the remarkable information of a time that shall never be forgotten.

Kimberly Edmondson

I came away from this museum with a heavy heart. Make sure you allow yourself plenty of time to get there and to see the exhibits. I booked the tickets a month in advance. However, we got lost and missed our time. They were extremely kind and allowed us entry 20 minutes late.

TyeMonkey

It was a really great place showing a lot of information about the Holocaust. They also have very good tour guides and amazing stories from the speakers.

Sonia Sonia

Incredibly moving. It's a must see for everyone to remind us the value of human rights. The Holocaust can never happen again.

Michelle Caufield

Full of history. If you love history this is a place to visit when in NYC. Saw the Auschwitz exhibit, it was awesome. They had authentic pieces.

Isabel Serrano

Auschwitz exhibit highly recommended

Debbi Burdett

Very sad and moving. Many exhibitions we had never seen before, even at the Holocaust Museum in DC

Richie W

We saw the Auschwitz exhibit. 3 floors of pictures, artifacts, videos, and sad history that can never be forgotten. Highly recommended for all. Definitely spend the $2 for a pair of earbuds and the audio tour.

Laura Szapiro

Saw the Yiddish language Fiddler on the Roof. It was fabulous, and I don't usually like musicals. The cafe is really nice. Good views, good food. Unfortunately when I called the museum a the day before the show, the person who answered had no idea if the cafe was open. The museum exhibits are always top quality.

Laura Sofia

If you like to know about WW2 this is a perfect museum, they have actual Auschwitz objects and more. Its amazing plus is not expensive! This Auschwitz exhibition is so powerful, makes you feel something that I cant explain, this is a museum so worth going. I share a little bit of all the things that I saw because you defenetly need to see it by yourself

P Kadoche

It was a powerful and meaningful Exhibit of Aushwitz with a guided tour( recording)

joan jennings

Very thorough explanation with photos and other evidence of events leading up to and through the horror of the Holocaust. Audio sets explain each exhibit. Every American should visit and understand this event in history. Lest we forget. It must NEVER happen again.

Taimur Akhtar

Many things that were not taught in school. Left with a very heavy heart. Takes about 2 hours from start to end.

Amy Gonte

Really well done. I especially enjoyed watching the interviews of survivors. Very interesting stories. You see how emotional it is for them to tell their story. I also liked the many artifacts there were. Clothes, pictures, tools and more. Definitely a good place to visit.

Darren Malone

View the absolutely riveting Black & White photography....walk in the garden... Somehow being so near the Hudson River means you are in for educational & peaceful experience in BATTERY PARK NYC.

Mary Evens

We had a group tour of the Auschwitz exhibit. It was very disturbing, but I think everyone should see it. I can't believe there are actually people who say the Holocaust didn't happen.

Jeannie Naughton

Beautifully curated show on Auschwitz.

Carol Rooney

Great museum. We must never forget. The Garden of Stones is beautiful. Lots of Biblical references to Stones in the Bible. They should add $2.00 to the admission for headphones or tell you to bring your own.

Ivan Voyticki

Pro: beautiful views, unique creative architecture, fascinating historical displays and educational programs. Cons: excessive, annoying, redundant security. Once through the metal detector x-ray machine should be enough.

Elbert Guerra

A must see experience for everyone. Highly recommended. The exhibits are very informative.

Jean Marcheschi

Excellent exhibition everyone should see. It is reality and could happen again

Maryann Broberg

Good experience. The audio guide is a little hard to follow.

Christina

Great exhibits and view. Necessary museum for these times

Paivi Tsokkinen

This lovely museum was under construction and we didn't see the whole museum. The building is close the sea and has beautiful sceneries from the windows and from the touching little garden outside. Trees are growing from a stones like jewish people stayed alive after terrible history. Also little cafeteria where we tasted Haman ears with coffee.

Jeff Erdman

,,We went to see the Holocaust exhibit, well-executed very thought-provoking even to a person that's not Jewish

David Shane

This museum is a critical part of remembering and celebrating Jewish history and heritage. It’s in a beautiful location with a huge amount of space. Allow at least 3-4 hours or more to enjoy the museum exhibits and even have a meal at the cafe or shop in the museum gift shop. You won’t be disappointed. Bring your friends and family.

Alan H Burghauser MD

An exhibit everyone should see. We must never let the past atrocities be repeated. Learn from history. A great timeline of modern events should serve to remind us of what man can do to man. Sad! This exhibition allows us to see what all of us should know and remember!

Aydin Torun

As regarding Auschwitz Exhibition: a once-in-a-lifetime experience for those of us who, having never left this country and likely never will, can now view the epitome up close and personally in one place under one roof. Everything, EVERYTHING you could possibly want to know about the town going back to medieval times, the original land grant, the many times it became a part of one country or another, the Armistice of 1918, its development as a major rail hub and designation as a concentration and extermination camp. Hundreds of chilling original personal artifacts and utilitarian objects including a giant steel cauldron and wooden paddle used to prepare soup to feed a precise number of inmates. Spread over three floors, it will take you hours to process this purposely dimly-lit horror show. A treasure grove of documents, maps, charts and photos displayed in the original German language. Not for the squeamish! The tamper-proof Zyklon B cyanide pellet chimney-like chute, a photo array of the entire camp hierarchy, the epitome of evil: a section of camp bunks, inmate uniforms, color charts explaining the meanings of patches. Every time you feel you have had enough, seen and experienced enough, there is more, more and more. An absolute must-see presentation. Not to be missed! I have been to scores of exhibitions over a lifetime but nothing, absolutely nothing compares with the the precious, priceless artifacts displayed here each with a remarkable story. I only wish they could have developed a comprehensive catalog of every item shown. Nothing prepares you for this experience which you may have heard or read about. A truly momentous undertaking put together seamlessly in the most understated way. The first time was a preliminary overview. I realize now I will have to go back.

I Justifice I

Great exhibition! I'm from Germany and I think it's a touching and authentic experience.

hit the josh

Extremely informative. Would reccomend to everyone

Gavin Ó Brien

Super friendly staff and a tremendous overview of some aspects of Jewish life in Europe before, during and after the Holocaust. The exhibits are very well curated and evoke a lot of emotion for a visitor. The shop has a number of relevant literary works. I had been meaning to read Elie Wiesel’s ‘Night’ for some time and was able to pick up a very nice edition here. If you don’t know a lot about Jewish history this is the place to begin learning.

Anna Crisostomo

As a Citypass holder you only get to 3rd floor not main floor. Was pretty informative and a definite experience.

Mel Jovanen

Well run museum

Carolyn Weddell

What a superb Yiddish production of "Fiddler on the Roof" -- without doubt the most moving production of that musical we have ever seen. And to be in such proximity to Castle Garden, Ellis Island -- I was emotionally overcome seeing Lady Liberty after we exited the theater. While I am delighted the show is moving to Broadway, I feel very lucky to have experienced the exquisitely intimate and rather ingenious staging at the museum. Kudos.

Stefan Levine

The museum is a wonderful place to visit. We went for the special Auschwitz exhibit. Having been to Auschwitz I was a little disappointed. I do realize this exhibit will be seen by all ages and types of people, so it had to be sanitized for general viewing

Bebe Andrukiewicz

Just went to Lox Restaurant and thought it was nice.

Arthur Shatz

A truly wonderful museum whether you are Jewish or not. The current Auschwitz exhibit is a very sobering experience. Very highly recommended.

Fabio Morales

Super great place to visit and learn about what really happens in WWII

Seth Ward

Auschwitz exhibit was outstanding. Worth visiting.

Christian Burgess

The Museum should provide prominent warnings to visitors that purchasing tickets any less than 3 hrs before closing will prohibit seeing the entire exhibit. I payed full admission for a 1pm time but was rushed out at a 3pm closing time, with much of the exhibit still to be seen. Very disappointing.

Patricia Moscou

The Auschwitz Exhibition is unbearably comprehensive and painful - which is why it should not be missed. Once again we are asked how this happened and importantly, still happens (in smaller ways, every day)...all over the world...

Linda Schecter

Beautifully done. Love the building inside and out.

Andrea Sboner

The exhibition "not long ago, not far away" featuring artifacts from Auschwitz extermination camp should be a mandatory visit for all schools. It's uncanny resemblance to today's world is frightening.

Edy Hatcher

Nice museum but it was under construction so there wasn't much to see. They are expecting to have one of their new exhibits done by this summer.

John H

MUST SEE. VIRTUAL REALITY EXHIBIT CALLED "THE LAST GOODBYE". BUT NOTE!! ONLY 1 PERSON CAN DO IT AT A TIME AND IT LASTS 20 MINUTES SO IT BACKS UP VERY QUICKLY. YOU CAN RESERVE A TIMEBUT IT COULD EASILY BE 2 HOURS LATER. I WENT FRIDAY AT 11 A.M. AND I HAD TO WAIT 1 HR. WEEKENDS MUST BE IMPOSSIBLE. YOU ARE VIRTUALLY TAKEN TO THE SITE OF AN OLD KILLING CAMP AND A REAL SURVIVOR OF THE CAMP TAKES YOU ON A TOUR. VERY EFFECTIVE AND MOVING.

Jeffrey Stein

Interesting museum that is well worth visiting. The exhibits are about the history and heritage of the Jewish people, not only the Holocaust. Take the guided audio tour.

Dale Greenstein

Everyone should make the time to see the current exhibit.

mike all

Very moving holocaust exhibit. Save at least 2.5 hours to go through it, without having to feel rushed.

Efis Gloanas

A powerful experience. We visited the temporary exhibit, Auschwitz - not long ago, not far away, and it was eerily spectacular. Be prepared to get emotional as you hear the tragic tales and losses that people went through. It is set up over 3 floors and a must for anyone visiting NYC. Such an important piece of history should never be forgotten. They also have a virtual experience with a holocaust survivor where you can ask him any question you want and he will answer. It feels as though he is really there and is an empowering opportunity to hear just one of the many, many stories. Please consider adding this museum to your NYC plan; it will bring you back to very deep, human roots that everyone can partake in.

Gay Griffith

The Auschwitz exhibition is very powerful and a must see!

Denise L

Lots of informative exhibits. Be prepared to stay for hours.

Elaf Mohammed

nice use of history to spread the cause The Museum of Jewish Heritage, located in Battery Park City in Manhattan, New York City, is a memorial to those who perished in the Holocaust. The building, designed by Roche-Dinkeloo, is topped by a pyramid structure called the Living Memorial to the Holocaust. The museum opened in 1997. Wikipedia

Ken Block

Phenomenal exhibit! On a scale of 1-10, it deserves a 12!

Garrett Morgan Jr.

The scenery of this place is amazing it tells you so much about what people were thinking in the time of the Holocaust it makes you get very emotional but it is truly a mesmerizing place to go I got a chance meet one of the Holocaust Survivors and to hear her story is so sad and impactful see all of the pictures of the people that died make sure you very emotional but it is a great way to learn about the world history.

David Fishman

I think everyone needs to visit this museum more than once in their lives.

Jonah Adler

Awe-inspiring. Lives up to it's name. A brand-new must-go.

KM Kill Musick

Wonderfully curated, thoughtful exhibits on Jewish culture in Europe - Pre & Post Holocaust. Good space on the waterfront to think after checking out the Museum. Highly recommended to learn a very important history that should never repeat again.

Jessica Gay

The Auschwitz exhibit was brilliant and very comprehensive. It took you through the history and context of the period before and during WWII and the Holocaust. It explored the ‘how’ and ‘why’ it happened while never losing site of the people that were most affected. If you are interested in the history of this period, definitely check it out.

Jacob Michelsen

An interesting and informative museum everyone should visit.

Cassandra Yeh

Great location, close to Hudson river. Very well organized museum. It is so informative and educational. Many photos & items displayed in the museum. It definitely brings me back to the past. Prepare to spend at least a few hours here to go through all the exhibit.

Dafne Momongan- Connall

Always a sad part of world history. Worth of everyone’s reminder that life is precious and we should learn from that experience and that should have not happened. Nice view on the 3rd floor of the Statue of Liberty.

eden papich

Very educational and detailed love the modern idea of having everyone wear a mic so they can hear the leader speak clearly

Olivier Nimeskern

The Museum of Jewish Heritage is a beautiful modern building near Battery Park. Inside you can learn about Jewish history and in particular the Holocaust. This is place to reflect on human history and to learn to respect others and be tolerant, not dogmatic. The place is not crowded and is very neatly well kept, the kids should see it too, and learn.

Robert Serino

Recently viewed the Auschwitz exhibit which was excellent. HOWEVER, at 4:45 PM ( 15 minutes before closing) the way which the staff swept everyone out of the building was INCREDIBLE!! It was as if they had watched the way the Gestapo treated prisoners and were emulating them. Their rudeness was amazing and they physically swept people forward. I do not believe I will ever step foot in this museum again as I have never experienced such rudeness in ANY museum I have ever attended. While I understand the need to follow posted hours, this behavior 15 minutes before closing was appalling!

Al

Must see this museum lots of photos from the past. It will show you the good times and the very hard times in life. Very impressive

Nancy Maldonado

The Museum Very Historic, Sad History, Amazing

Kimberly Newman

The Auschwitz display was well-done, we learned a lot!

Chelsey McBreairty

Beautiful, informative walk into history

Shoshana Hefter

Powerful. Spent over two hours and couldn't get to everything.

Randyl Gavert

I saw Fiddler on the Roof in Yiddish at this amazing museum. The theatre was a great space, comfortable yet intimate. The museum staff are all knowledgable and friendly. The exhibits are inspiring and a good balance between the destruction of the Holocaust and the renewal of Jewish life, culture, and Torah heritage. The cafe is also worthy of at visit- best Russian babka ever!!

Edward Moy

Amazing place to learn about Jewish history. Must see to appreciate and understand all the challenges, suffering as well as its glory and wonderful achievements . A great place to humble yourself and explore this wonderful treasure. Don't forget to visit the restaurant. Great food and fantastic service.

B

not as much to see as I'd like. there are some new installations in process but right now there isn't that much with the exception of the virtual reality portion. the virtual reality part is actually really interesting. they did a good job with the filming of it

Inquisitive Tony

Very wonderfull experience which was very emotionally on my end. So many exhibits and photos and artifacts. It is truly sad what happened to the people of Jewish communities, gay and disabled. They have great audio guides for free but bring your own wired headphones because they cost 2 dollars. Amazing place to visit. Definitely recommend

Ruben Friedman

The Holocaust exhibit was quite good.

Lynne Cohen

A wonderful museum filled with historical and cultural items from the past and present. The Auschwitz exhibit complete with one of the cattle car is used in the transport of Jews to Auschwitz it’s was an amazing representation of the Holocaust. There is art and artifacts from various places Jews lived within the museum as well as a kosher café where the food is delicious.

Brian Sheehy

I would advise anyone to take the tour. The device that they lend you, is very confusing..

Gedalya Engel

The Auschwitz exhibit is amazing! I was there for 4 hours and I could've stayed longer. Very well done, and for the $16 admission, they give you (as a loan) a self guided device (bring your own earbuds, or they will sell you a pair for $2). It's here for a limited time (I think until January).

Nanette Ekin

Need to spend more than 2 hours there! ☺

Monte Shalett

Really a good museum, beautiful and looking out at the Statue of Liberty just gives you chills. Was there a couple of years ago.

Gene Sellards

This, the third largest Holocaust museum in the world, is always fascinating. The current subject, Auschwitz, is especially riveting.

Eva Brunwasser

Mucha historia, A lot to learn.

Ben Kreisberg

Amazing place! One of the hidden gems of NYC! A must visit for anyone. Learn about history in order to insure it dosnt get repeated. Staff is incredible! So helpful

Malkiel Hefter

What an eye opening experience.

Sara Boyer

Take your time with this museum. You will not regret it. Its on the larger side so I recommend blocking out some time for this museum. I loved hearing peoples accounts of what happened and how beautiful and well thought out the exhibits are. Highly recommend if you are visiting NYC!

Philip Koch

Everyone should see the current Auschwitz exhibition. The museum added two new escalators to accommodate this superb exhibition.

Adam Helschein

It's a great museum. With history and exhibits that are very interesting

steven XO

I gave it 5 stars because how it's respects the victims and tells there stories.

Michael Tachco

Very informative and moving. Text and some displays a little dark and sometimes in hard to read places but otherwise, well put together.

Mie

Great museum with breathtaking water view. I love to visit here with my kids next time.

Darran McCahill

Every one should visit the museum, a very sobering experience. This should never be forgotten

Frank Chung

Worthwhile visit. Spent over 4 hours in the Auschwitz special exhibit. Note: audio guide is included in your ticket, BUT they charge $2 for cheap earbuds. Bring your own.

Tina Yauger

Wonderfully put together telling the story leading up to anti semitism, WWI and WWII, and the Holocaust. Took us a couple hours to go through. It will leave you feeling both sad and angry wondering how people could be so cruel.

Caleb Stanford

Auschwitz exhibit is a must-see. Audio tour took a while (maybe a few hours?) but it was gripping and informative throughout. I thought the exhibits were effectively constructed and sequenced.

Aaron Allen

I'm not from Jewish religion. I found that it was very informative about the Holocaust and really enlightened myself to what the Jews went through and the other's who were looked down upon

Emre Celik

Important stories to learn from.

Isaac Drury

Very well laid out museum. Informative on practically every facet of the Jewish way of life and their struggles as well as their journey to Zion and beyond.
