You have done alllll the museums. You are tired of "high culture" or "broadway" or (ho hum) shopping.... come to the MMuseuMM! Small small small - filled with ...well interesting, historical, and whacky artifacts! Bring earbuds so you can listen to the well made audio tour. NOTE: you can also see it 24/7 through the window. ALSO - while free - why not donate that requested $5! I mean - come on!

Norbert Tai

The location, the space, the exhibitions, everything about this "mmuseumm" challenges the definition of your typical "Museum". Almost like a secret, an art installation, the exhibitions makes you think more than just absorb particular information from a regular museum. Don't miss the Cafe and the gift store!

Pay no attention to the girl sitting across the street. She's not an exhibit, just an employee.

Intersting little museum near Chinatown. It's a pretty quick visit (maybe 10 minutes) but what they have is pretty atypical for a museum. It's a free exhibit, so there's not much of a reason not to check it out if you're in the area. Definitely the smallest museum I've been in.

Brilliant. The museum as art object, sure, but the exhibits are no slouch themselves. A moving humanitarian document.

A tiny one room (really an elevator shaft) rotating exhibit of seemingly pretty random things but has a unifying theme. You can boast about finding this hidden gem in an unassuming alley on the outskirts of Chinatown but what you get out of it will certainly depend on what's on display at the moment. A quirky yet unique idea that is very particular to NYC.

Peeping through the window into the fascinating collections of Mmuseumm

This is such a unique endeavor! It's the smallest museum in NYC and is made up of two parts: Mmuseumm 1 which is the inside of an elevator shaft, and Mmuseumm 2 which is a 20 sq ft space visible through a window display. It's a well-curated space that you can devote as little or as much time as you want to, but it's definitely worth the trek out here.

A amazing tiny gallery only open at the weekend. Go in for free or give a donation to receive a poster with an image of every item in the museum. This objects are really fascinating from a used tissue of Kim Jong Un’s to a collection of bread clips. A nice touch is also that up get greeted on arrival and introduced to the collection. Gift shop is also available!

Always love to visit this museum every season since they change out the contents. Why waste 3 hours at a museum when you can enjoy a great snippet.

Quirky, charming mini museum with changing exhibits on objects collected around timely themes (topics for 2019 include objects carried by police shooting victims, ISIS currency, Venezuelan ripoffs of US consumer brand products).

Laetitia Donnet

Greatly curated items packed into such a tiny location. Super original! Through the objects on display and aided by the thoughtful descriptions, you can picture a whole life, a whole history. This isn’t a whole day at the museum experience so plan other things if you’re making a special trip downtown (we went to the MOCA afterwards) but its impact lingers with you. The guy working there was super nice, helpful and informative. The collection changes periodically so we’ll be visiting again soon!

What does one do in NYC? You wander. You wander and you're rewarded! What a delight it was to come across this unexpected museum. We were fortunate enough to catch their exhibit on immigration and mass incarceration. Powerful stuff in a tiny location. I will be returning!

Excellent little museum that packs a punch. The displays have a little edge of sarcasm, surrealism, and depth. They cut right through the undiscussed bias and show reality of things that matter that you didn’t yet know matter. Really worth a visit.

Pound per pound, the best museum I have ever seen. Jaw dropping exhibits stored in a space smaller than many closets. Worth seeking out and enjoying for a short visit. In this case, quantity is not needed to present quality, thought-provoking exhibits.

Hyped tiny museum. But way better than expected. So many tiny details that go into this little space. Well worth a visit. It's also free, so just go here. You just must now you have no option. Otherwise you will miss this fantastic place.

One of the world's smallest museums, it showcases "Object Journalism" - stories about objects collected across the globe. It's difficult to understand what the point is, but the novelty of the museum and the collection of stuff is worth stopping by to see.

This was a serendipitous find for me when I was wandering around Tribeca. Apparently, this is the smallest museum in New York City has been around for several years during the warmer months. I think I was told from April until October. Each shelf in the walk-in closet size space holds a different tiny, but powerful exhibit. For example, the receipts from last meals of death row inmates. Another was replicas of ISIS currency that the founder created from photos he found on the darknet. A particularly heartbreaking exhibit included items held by people of color when they were gunned down and killed by the police with their photos and how many bullets were shot. The docent is sitting on the chair outside the museum was very thorough in explaining the details of the exhibitions. Down the street there's a little tiny gift store as well. This is totally worth checking out.
