We have the feddbacks of people who purchase the services and products of Ellis Island National Museum of Immigration (Museum) near New York.
At present this business has a score of 4.7 stars out of 5 and that rating has been calculated on 226 reviews.
You may have noticed that the average score it has is almost the best one, and it's founded on a very large number of scores, so we can be quite sure that the score is very accurate. If people have bothered to evaluate when they've done well with the service, is that it works.
You know that we do not usually bother to set feddbacks when they are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Museum belongs to the category of Museum.
A lot of great history, really enjoyed reading about the immigration to the us.
So cool
12 million immigrants ...... arrived America and got Freedom and Liberty.
So interesting to visit, here you can learn a lot about immigration in the old days.
Interesting history

The Ellis Island Immigration Center and Liberty Island Ferry is a must see in NYC. Ellis Island Museum contains photos and stories from the period when it was the entry way into the US from 1892 until 1954. But it's a lot of photos, films and recordings so if you find that stuff dry maybe give it a miss. Nice boat ride though and walking around Liberty Island and hearing via audio guide included in the $18.50 combo Liberty Island and Ellis Island cruise about the history of how the monument was conceived and constructed was very interesting. On Ellis Island we got a bad National Park Guide though. Doug Treem or similar was his name. His talk was more of a American nationalistic propaganda speech than informational. We did learn (from the signage) that 12 million people came through Ellis Island Immigration Center in the 62 years it was open. Doug claimed 13 million and said that 3,000 people a day was average, and 5,000 if it was busy. But hang on, do the maths and it's less than 600 a day. He also said that it only closed 1 to 2 days a year. A lot of the talk was hype and so it seems the numbers he quoted were beefed up by orders of magnitude. All other NPS tour guides I've met on this trip have been great.
It's huge and very much information in there. Also there is 2 theater which runs documentary films every 30 mins, good place to take a nap though

(Translated by Google) One of the best little-known or well-known NY museums, the entrance is included with the Momunemnto to the Statue of Liberty. The construction itself is very worthwhile, has an impeccable and very dynamic museography. There are old objects, photographs, audio recordings, letters and documents. It is great to travel and it is not usually so full, but at a good pace you can see it well in 2 hrs approx. The cafeteria does not have a large selection and the prices are expensive but the attraction is that it is located where the ticket office of this old boarding and disembarking station was.
I enjoy very much

The museum and exhibition are very interactive - one learns so much about the history of immigrants, but not in a boring lore-book way, but on the basis of many personal stories of the immigrants. Absolutely take audio guide, there's in all sorts of languages and costs nothing. Really very exciting! Great experience to learn about the history of immigration in the U.S., the audio guide tours are very interesting and interactive so you won‘t get bored. After the tours you can have a great look at the beautiful skyline of New York City.
This is a very well done museum. The museum highlights that we face many of the same immigration issues now that we faced hundreds of years ago.
You might find interesting if interested to know about historical immigration system and process. I found it bit boring though musuem has preserved lot of old things.
I give it just 4 stars because for me they need find more historical piece
Love it
Finally made the visit after 3 years of living walking distance to the place. Very much a must do visit. The models of the island on the 3rd floor was really interesting, how the island grew. Have family that came through here, it was pretty cool following their footsteps.
You have to visit Ellis Island at least once in your life go up into the Statue of Liberty and then see where your ancestors had to come through in order to get here and make you a US citizen

Amazing place for history and the employees are very knowledgeable
Unlike other museums in the city, the Ellis Island National Museum of Immigration is more so educational and very informative with regards to the beginnings of the American people and the politics that surround it. It's amazing to see how much has changed in terms of rules that regulate immigrant admission to the country and rules for naturalization.

Great history displays. Informative park rangers. Very well done. Lots of reading. You can view videos also. My Dad and his family came through Ellis Island. The family had purchased a spot on the Wall of Honor. Found their names, took pics, rubbed the name on a piece of paper and pencil. (They also sell a rub kit in the gift shop). Computers to look up family name and ship manifests. Beautiful buildings and grounds. Cafe on the property, long line. Would not recommend for small children, too much reading throughout the museum..
This place has so much history. The United States is a nation built on immigrants, so the museum is very important to history. There is so much to learn. If you are going to visit the Statue of Liberty, don’t hesitate to stop by Ellis Island as well.
Very interesting tour. You get to experience the things the newcomers experienced when arriving in NY
So much to see about the history of immigration

This is wonderful museum. Must in NY
A great place to learn about the history of NYC. This was once the location where immigration was processed.
A truly memorable trip. Tons of artifacts and stories on early immigrants.
If you haven't been here, you need to visit, whether a local or tourist, an American or a visitor, this is a fascinating spot to visit. We were able to search and find our ancestors along with pictures of the boat upon which they arrived. you can experience what it was like for them to arrive here, what types of things they Brough with them, what it was like for them if they were placed in confinement, what things were like once they arrived in the city. There are amazing views of Manhattan from the island as well. It's the perfect spot for a picnic. The main hall inside the building is a pretty touching place to sit and reflect on all that has past through these walls.
So much to see, it’s overwhelming to fit it in on the same day as Liberty Island. I preferred Liberty Island but I feel that Ellis island is a important stop to remember our history of welcoming immigrants to our country. The video I saw was informational and touching. I was hoping to see more of the original building so I think the “hard hat” tour will be on my list for the next time.

Great experience learning about the history of the United States of America. They have movies and exhibits that will leave in awe. It's very ironic how the United States was built on immigrants from all over the world. We had open arms then and accepted anyone into the country. Now in 2019 its the complete opposite. What happened to our freedom? What happened to our independence? What's happened to our country? Make America Free Again!
lived in NYC over 20 years and then moved to the west coast over 20 years ago. finally visited Ellis island in my most recent trip to NY. I took the hard hat tour and it was fabulous. the main museum has 3 self guided audio tours. very informative and entertaining. the hard hat tour was definitely the highlight. you are guided to restricted areas of the hospital. the area is still being restored and for safety reasons, you must wear a hard hat.
DO THE HARD HAT TOUR, so much more impactful as an individual seeing Ellis Island for the sound time than any other tour offered. Literally, chills and best time. Thanks LINDA for the tour!

You can find out alot about the early immigrants to New York if you visit this museum. I think a lot of people visit here to try and find the names of their ancestors in the early registry books as well. A very nicely maintained museum.

It was the gateway to the United States of America in the long gone days for the immigrants. We could not land in the island as we were in the last trip to liberty island . But our boat stopped for 5 minutes and did not allow us. We went on to liberty island and later back to New Jersey.
I was in awe the whole time. The short movies are worth watching plus you can rest your feet.
Piece of history and hope
Great fun on the tour/vacation trip with the family!
nice place The museum is located in the Main Building of the former immigration station complex. The French Renaissance Revival structure, restored to its 1918 - 1924 appearance, tells the moving tales of the 12 million immigrants who entered America through the golden door of Ellis Island. Today, the descendants of those immigrants account for almost half of the American people. In addition, the newly completed Peopling of America Center bookends the Ellis Island era by chronicling immigration to America before the processing station opened in 1892 and after it closed in 1954, right up to the present.
Amazing & very educational
Ok
I got engaged here, it will always be special in my heart. June 4, 2017.
Had a great time with my sis came for the first time and walked around this amazing museum that haves so much history to share. I loved how we could hear the story in our language because they provide you a type of phone where u out the number in each section u stand to hear what is the story on it. After looking at everything we had lunch at there cafeteria. Delicious beast burger I had and my sister had a New York burger style. We enjoyed our visit
