Building 92 is a great place to hang out and have coffee. It's such a chill vibe and you don't need to buy anything to hang out in the space. I don't think many people know about it but it's rarely ever crowded and it's in Brooklyn Navy Yards

A great museum that needs more recognition! We were in the area and decided to stop by and realized it is a FREE museum. It is divided into three floors of exhibits of the Brooklyn Navy Yards when it was in use. We enjoyed our time learning about the history of the place. In addition, there is a giant anchor in the main entrance, which is really impressive to look at. The building itself is a very eco-friendly/sustainable structure and there are several stations that explain how/why.

Within the confines of the Brooklyn Navy Yard, filled with warehouses of industry and inventory stands a commercial Bldg. designed and build to remind the labourers whom work the piers and the shipments at this location that the infrastructure can be Just as picturesque as the landscape.

ADERONKE ODUNUGA

Had a nice cafe au lait there.

An interesting museum, knowing nothing of the ship yards, I was interested to visit. I was able to get just the amount of information I wanted quickly, and with no admission charge. I had my daughter in a stroller, and universal access is lacking. The only way up to the entrance is around the side, where a wheelchair lift is located. The path to the lift is through coarse crushed rock which really bogged down the wheels. This would be a challenge for those in wheelchairs as well.

Building 92 houses the Brooklyn Navy Yards visitor center and museum. The recently renovated building consists of 2 parts. A restored historic building and an addition. It is one of the few places in the Navy Yard accessible to the general public. The museum has exhibits about the history of the yard, the role it has taken up in Brooklyn today, and houses original artifacts. It is a popular meeting spot for tours. Additionally, there is an outdoor garden and gift shop.

Very cool museum documenting the history of the Brooklyn Navel Yard. A nice cafe and cool programs for kids on weekends. Also where we started for an informative and fun tour of the yard with turnstile tours.

Andrew Sutton

Very cool place to find out about the history of the Brooklyn Navy Yard as well as the Navy in general. Not the biggest museum ever but the features and presentation are well done. There is a Brooklyn Roasting coffee shop that is in the building as well with WIFI and a handful of tables to sit at. Building 92 is open to the public but if you have a Navy Yard security pass then you can use the back door beyond the restrooms to enter into the secured Navy Yard. This is an alternative entrance to the yard instead of using a street entrance with a guard gate.

I stumbled upon the museum while walking around the neighborhood. They really did a good job of presenting the story of the Brooklyn Navy Yard and what the place was before it rose to prominence as an important shipyard, something I had very little knowledge of prior to my visit. It's a story that spans four centuries and uncannily mirrors New York City's own story of success, decline, and re-emergence. Come visit to find out more! Allot two hours to see all exhibits at a comfortable pace. The museum is housed in a modern, eco-friendly building. Admission is FREE. The museum employees are very friendly and engaging.

Ms Mack

I just gave it 5 stars because they trying to help me get employment. When I get it, that's when I'll give 5 stars.

This is wasn't a help for me to get a job. You learn some things that may already know or don't know, so don't expect anything special from this place and give you details about their "potentials" for you to get a job
